The waitress was not very personable to us. The salad is a joke, it is just lettuce with a few little carrots in it. New place to try right down the road from Amber's sisters. The food was amazing and you can twll home cooked. I tried a petite hot brown and side of Mac and cheese. The food was legit homemade. The fried okra you can tell was shaken in a bag of flowrr/salt/pepper and then fried like grandmother cooked it. Mac and cheese was made with real cheeae,, not processed like Velveeta. The grilled yogurt chicken was very tender with oodles of flavor. Had my first Hot Brown and it was yummy and cheesy... I love cheese. The combo pie (peanut butter and fudge brownie is a must try. I have been ordering the Yogi Chicken Salad for over 10 years maybe more. I have in the last 2 years seen the quality & age of produce decline, and the price go up substantially. Last night will be the last. It was gross, the 2 slices of avocado were almost black, tomatoes were sqishy, and the lettuce was rusty. At least they remembered to put the dressing in the bag this time. I won't be going back, I don't want a gift certificate because I know this was not an isolated incident, It is what has been happening and I kept telling myself that it was a one off. I didn't mind the price increase as its everywhere, but the amount of good stuff such as avacados has diminished to just more lettuce. The food here is really good. Nothing fancy, just traditional takes on lunch hour food. The locals insist you have to come here and eat every time you are in the area and I know why, large portions and large selection of items on the menu. The fried corn on the com is delicious and all the Vega Les are fresh and seasoned just right. Was delighted with the cornbread shaped like corn. Baked just right. Crusty on outside and moist inside. The stewed tomatoes were actually stewed just like my grandmother use to make. The beans, potatoes and other vegetables were tasty but not seasoned as "southern" as I am use to but with a little more S&P they were just right. The teas was sweet and experience was delightful. Their dessert menu is huge and the pies are great. They are open late and serve a full menu all day. Going to stop here EVERY time I'm in Lexington. read more

Ramsey's is a great place for a home style dinner, with options like meat loaf, pot roast, fried pork chops, an assortment of sandwiches, breakfast, and brunch, of course, the famous hot brown. During Covid they have provided additional outside seating, spaced out the tables in the restaurant, and everyone is required to wear a mask. On our recent visit the fried pork chops and fried green tomatoes were perfect, although I wish my corn on the cob and cornbread had been warmer, and my husband enjoyed his omelet (and some of my lunch as well). Our waitress did not come back to the table until we were done eating, but thankfully she had brought out the condiments before the food arrived. And don't forget the pie! Ramsey's is as well known for their pies as they are for their dinner menu. I got a piece of peanut butter pie to go. My only complaint is the addon building at the bellerive store needs some sound proofing. For only 8 or so tables I feel like I'm in a high school gym at max capacity with everyone talking. My family got dinner as take out from Ramsey's tonight. Besides the food always being great at this restaurant when you order take out they give you an approximate time when your food will be ready. It shouldn't be approximate, it should be exact. As I was walking in the door 15 minutes after they told me over the phone it would be ready, I saw the food come out of the kitchen and was bagged by the bar tender. My family and I went here for easter, we wanted a home cooked meal. Everything is supposed to be homemade. I got the country fried pork chops with mashed potatoes, fried parmesan corn on the cob and mac and cheese. The pork chops were okay they were kind of tough, the mac and cheese was definitely not homemade, it was the grossest thing on my plate, the corn on the cob was delicious and the mashed potatoes were good. My grandmother got the chicken and dumplings which were claimed to be homemade, she said they tasted like they came straight out of a can. My mom had the pot roast, she said it was delicious. She had the same sides as me but instead of corn on the cob she had regular corn. She didn't like the mac and cheese either. It really bothers me when a diner or restaurant says their food is homemade but you can tell it came straight out of a can or frozen. read more

This place was really great. I got the hot brown. Apparently a delicacy in KY! The bacon was thick cut. I don't eat so I gave it to my dad and he absolutely loved it! The hot brown is basically just an open face sandwich with turkey and cheese. It was really good and very filling. I also tried a desert. I had the chocolate peanut butter pie. It was amazing. A huge slice. The prices are a little high but I thought it was worth it. The quality of the food is so much better than chain diners. They do serve alcohol. There was a nice bar situated in the middle of the dining area toward the back. I like where the bar was located. This is definitely a local chain and locally owned. Don't expect impeccable service or anything! It didn't bother me but I know some people make a big deal about how friendly the staff is. They weren't necessarily unfriendly, they just seemed to be more focused on local, regular people that clearly come in there daily. I would definitely go back. Especially for that pie! read more

They did not skimp on the ingredients. The sandwich was very heavy and calorie-dense. I ate less than half of my sandwich and brought the rest home, which was enough for another meal. My friend who came with me got a Reuben sandwich. It was a twist on the classic Reuben. Instead of corned beef, it had turkey, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing on rye bread. The sandwich was grilled and served hot, with a pickle and some cinnamon baked apple rings on the side. I had a bite of the sandwich and it was delicious. The restaurant can get pretty busy on the weekends. We waited about 10-15 minutes without a reservation. Our waitress attended to us despite how busy the place was. This is a great place to taste some Southern cuisine and Kentucky specialties. However, don't expect to find many healthy options here. it wouldn't be a place I visit again and again.
