Chilaquiles Verdes with the egg scrambled in
    Myra G.

We came to Jame's Restaurant on my brother's recommendation, and I'm glad we did. It's an old-school diner that has clearly been around for a long time and has that classic, comfortable feel. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted right away and seated quickly. Our waitress came over almost immediately to take our drink order and returned just a few minutes later to take our food order. The service throughout the meal was excellent very attentive. The staff kept checking in to see if we needed anything, and drink refills were always on point. For food, I ordered the red chilaquiles with over-medium eggs, which came with rice, beans, and a chile toreado. We also ordered green chilaquiles with scrambled eggs, huevos caseros with bell peppers and tomatoes, a grilled cheese with fries, and an omelet that came with hash browns. Since today is Friday during Lent, we're not eating meat, so I came in a little unsure about what I'd be able to order. Luckily, they had several good meatless options, which made it easy. The ambiance is quiet and relaxed, with a TV playing in the background. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and the service is genuinely friendly. When you're finished, you simply walk up to the front and pay your bill. Overall, a solid local diner with good service and satisfying breakfast options. We'll definitely be back.

My friend wanted to come here to grab breakfast. I was lucky to find parking right in the front of the place because parking is limited here. We got seated quick near the counter seating area. This restaurant will remind you of those old school diner. My friend went with their breakfast plate while I got their club sandwich with fries. My wife wanted the Primavera omelette so I ordered that to go for her. My friend got coffee for his drink and I asked for a coke. Our food didn't take long to come out but the waitress forgot my drink so I had to remind her. The breakfast gives you a good portion and the club sandwich was good. The service wasn't too bad either. This place does charge a fee if you pay with a card so just be aware. There also only two stalls for the bathroom so the line can back up.

Solid breakfast with generous portions. We shared the Chorizo con Papas Supreme with a side of Avocado and a coffee. Out the door for $31 including tip! We are both full. Eating 2 would have left us stuffed. Friendly and attentive service. Will def come back! Found this spot because of Yelp as we drove by and were curious

Came here to meet a friend and you can tell it's a very beloved diner of the area. Seemed like they definitely have their regulars and I can see why. The food was good, huge portions was able to take leftovers for a second day, and the price was good!! Employees were also very sweet and helpful!

My 98 year old mom ordered menudo no pata. I've never been asked that before so it was new to me. It came out piping hot. Even after I ate my breakfast and went to finish the broth it was still warm. She said she wouldn't order again. I added all the condiments and I think it had flavor. I did get the pozole last time and loved that. Service was good. One staff member held open the front door for my mom a long time and waited patiently for her to walk in. There is equal and sweet and low on the table. Like name brand packets. I told my mom they didn't have Splenda so she was going in her purse to get her stash and the waitress brought us a bowl of Splenda. The restaurant was pretty full. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive. I ordered chatos rancheros with no bell pepper. I didn't see a lot of ham and sausage but it was a very hearty dish. The homemade salsa is really what makes the dish. The waitress did forget my toast but I had the super fresh and soft flour tortillas from my mom's menudo. The place is definitely old school diner vibe. The booths are not plus size friendly but I know they have tables in the back along with a large room. We were next to the cashier and the counter. Everything was clean and orderly.

Both dished were good, but the red sauce was better. Great ambience and customer service.

My delicious menudo comes in a large or small. This is the small with no pata .

This review has been a long time coming. One of the Valley's Hidden Gems Especially for Menudo Lovers James' Restaurant is easily one of the best breakfast spots in the valley, and their menudo alone is worth the visit every single day of the week, literally. It's one of the only places around that serves menudo 7 days a week, and they do it with that perfect balance of old-school diner charm and authentic Mexican flair. This place is family owned and run, and you can feel it the moment you walk in, warm, welcoming, and consistent every single time. Now the menudo... absolutely delicious. Good broth, good flavor, and never gamey. They load it up with tons of meat and keep the hominy light, exactly how I like it. Every bowl tastes like it was made with real care, not rushed or watered down like so many other spots. If you're in the valley and craving real, comforting menudo, morning cravings, Sunday hangovers, or anytime in between James' Restaurant is the move. A true local classic.

I had breakfast here with my friends. It was packed for a Friday morning, but we got a table on the side (quieter there). We made our choices and each of us had a delicious meal. Victor, our server, was polite and checked in on us. The only problem was the used dishes that piled up. Our table didn't have enough room for several plates. The ladies bathroom also was small (there's a changing table in there, which is great, but it's a small room to begin with There were no paper towels to dry my hands with. I do enjoy coming here with friends and have done so for 30 or so years! The food is good and plentiful!

5* Ambiance 4* Food…read more4* Service It has been a lifetime since I last dinned here. The views are more spectacular than ever and the interior decore is beautifully updated and clean. The food is fairly priced for the quality and menu presented. This is both a special occasion or casual dinning restaurant. Many showed up in shorts and tank tops (YUK) and others were nicely dressed for brunch. Their brunch menu had a lot of miss and hit items. Next time I would skip the Mango Habanero Shrimp and Truffle Popcorn chicken. The deep fried shrimp was overbowered by the bleu cheese dressing; the mango and and habanero flavors were visibly detectable but not balanced. The fried chicken and popcorn had clove and moderate seasoning which made it difficult to detect the truffle flavors which would have made this dish a success. The presentation was cute, but it missed the mark for us. The petite Charcuterie board, aquachile and ahi tuna poke were both a success! Each had quality and fresh ingredients. The shrimp and ahi tuna were perfectly prepared and well balanced in flavor. Next time I really want to try their bruch platter for two as it offered a generous portion and everytable that ordered them appeared to have really enjoyed it. The bar is great as it offers many options for mocktails, coctails, beer and wine. Next time I want to return for dinner and try some meat items on the menu.

They had live music playing when we went on a Sunday and they have indoor and outdoor seating with misters working overtime to keep customers cool. There's a ton of workers constantly moving and taking orders, cleaning, making drinks and etc so service was very fast. I think from the entire visit took us about 20 minutes and we walked in at 1:30 pm and ordered a pretty large ish breakfast for 2 people. The eggs are fantastic, the bacon is crisp with no soggy bits, the French toast is thick and comes with some pretty cool toppings. The only thing that was a minor let down was the biscuits and gravy were a little lack luster but we chose to believe it was because they were closing soonish. Their coffee was incredible. Overall it's our new breakfast spot and we couldn't be happier with our visit. Looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu!

A special thank you to Danielle, our waitress, who was kind, courteous, and never rushed us. Lovely spot for drinks and dinner in Santa Clarita…read more I was in the area running errands and decided to grab dinner nearby on a Thusday evening around 6:30 pm. I found this place on Yelp and dropped by for dinner. My party of 2 was seated immediately. Personally I thought the menus were hard to read. The gray lines in the background were quite dark and clashed with the actual menu items. My suggestion to the restaurant would be to reprint the menus with lighter background. They have an extensive cocktail menu with a lot of gin-based drinks. They also have good selection of wine and NA drinks as well, including some mocktails. I got the I'm Driving mocktail ($13), which I really liked. It had good passion fruit flavor without being too sour. Felt like a really nice tropical juice. My friend really liked his drink Bramblin' Man ($17), which had strong notes of bourbon and blackberry. I wasn't super hungry, but the braised short rib looked amazing so I got that for $43. It was very tender, but I personally found it bland especially on the inside. I asked for additional sauce so I could drench each bite in the sauce. My favorite part of the plate was surprisingly the potato croquette, which was perfectly crispy and well flavored. My friend got the chicken club ($23), which he enjoyed. I stole a bunch of his seasoned fries since they were so good. I would've loved to get dessert but was too stuffed. Next time!
