If you are eating plant based , try their veggie plate. It is delicious. The vegetables are tasty and there is a good variety PDC tastes and textures. This is very satisfying and filling - not just lettuce and tomatoes etc but cooked veg. It reminded me of a Buddha bowl - one of my favorite ways to eat plant based. It's served with a gluten free bread which to me is more like a thin pancake - served as a base for the vegetables. I ordered a lentil filled sambusa as a side dish. I really didn't need it but it was tasty! It's a bit oily as it is deep fried, but with the veggie plate it went well. These items are from their Ethiopian menu. read more

Nice service. A little slow but overall friendly comfortable place. We just went here after we went to Angeles crest shooting range. I tried the low carb breakfast burrito- both the turkey one and the steak one. Both were delicious. Surprisingly the turkey one had more flavor. I think partially because the cheese flavor was not as dominant. This place was good and got the job done! They even had Ethiopian food options which I was tempted to try but not today. It is an absolute must if you're in the area. I got the tri-tip barbecue sandwich with coleslaw and it was like my mom made it but way better. The coleslaw was perfect and the barbecue sandwich was a good size. It had great flavor and the portion was what I expected. The staff was very friendly. We also had their sweet potato fries which were crispy hot and delicious. It made our day. It's an easy stop off the 210 freeway. This is just such a wonderful off the beaten path restaurant!! The owner is amazing and HIRO the waiter was the best!! If you haven't been here.......take the time to go. I lot of us have been eating here for years. The food is good the service is great. The lady that owns it is the soul of the place. She is highly cooperative, excellent sense of humor and she works very hard to keep the place running as well as it does. During the summer when it's hot she has opened up an hour early to accommodate our little group. My son lives out of state but just loves her Ethiopian menu, I believe he visits more for her food than his dad. I have recommended this place to a number of friends and those that have tried it have always gone back for more. read more

This is a cute little spot you can grab breakfast or lunch at. Pretty vast menu to order from. Staff were very attentive and nice. Unfortunately didn't enjoy the food. My eggs came doused in butter as well as my toast, I did enjoy the hash browns. If I return I would just ask for no butter as it left me with a stomach ache for the rest of the day. read more

Was so surprised to see that there was a restaurant that offered Ethiopian food nearby, and it did not disappoint! The food was super tasty and my cousin picked it up easily. The price was not bad either! The lentil sambusas tasted a bit bland for my liking, I wish there was a hot sauce offered I could dip it in. This is our friendly neighborhood hangout in what is otherwise a gastronomic wasteland. The service is very attentive and friendly. They have American, Ethiopian and Mexican menu items but not an overwhelming number of choices. Their burgers are GREAT. I find that the Mexican food is okay but it is not my favorite. Haven't been brave enough to try the Ethiopian food! Indoor and outdoor seating available. Indoors is like a coffee shop -- nothing fancy but clean, roomy and not especially noisy, even on Polo Match Days around the corner (the players come to the restaurant after the game or lesson.) I do love the charm of this place and appreciate the introduction to Fir Fir, which was fairly tasty. But overall the Ethiopian food here lacked the rich nom nom flavors that you can find on Fairfax. Went Tuesday for some brunch, had the sampler combo with pancakes and eggs and potatoes, best potatoes I've had in my life bonus was the great coffee with free refills. Owner was very kind and even gave us a free chocolate on our way out. It's currently decorated for Easter so very cute right now. Service was excellent and plenty of parking at 12:30 on a Saturday. Plenty of tables available. Coffee was kinda terrible and I paid $2.50 for a cup. It was bottomless but it was not that good. I came from over the hill to try the Ethiopian combo dish. Was a little underwhelmed. One of the 5 items on there was decent and actually had a little kick which I liked. I would've preferred to have the lentils a little more blended. It was a bit chunky. The injera was decent. At least it was healthy. I'll try the chicken tib dish next time. This place has good food and good service. It's weird, though, because no matter what time I come, the place is always mostly empty. They have some vegan options on their Ethiopian menu. The rest is standard faire. There's a nice patio outside to eat. The inside is clean. I'd definitely go before they go out of business. Don't look at their website. I just discovered this place when I took on a substitute teaching job and I had a bit of a break. It's partly Ethiopian and partly American but I have breakfasts here. The first time I ate their biscuits and gravy with eggs which were delicious and today their perfectly cooked eggs Benedict with homemade potatoes. Next time I should try something simple. My buddy and I tried this before going shooting around the corner from there. The waitress was very pleasant and a delight!! I got the special of Salmon Benedict and I only ate . the sauce was down right terrible. More Mayonnaise tasting then anything. Should of just got a breakfast burrito. it came with country potatoes that need to be revisited. the season was plain tasting and the potatoes tasted like it was cooked yesterday and was staying warm all night. So nice to be able to have Ethiopian food for breakfast! Came here a few weeks ago and it was a nice treat. My daughter and I were headed for a very long 5 hour drive and she's been craving Ethiopian food. This place was on the way and open early. We got the vegetarian plate and a couple lentil sambusa. They have decent amount of veggies and were pretty tasty but the plate only included one injera that the veggies were spread on, so not sure if that's all the injera you get or they just forgot. The lentil sambusa had good flavor but the lentils were a little on the bit hard side (think they could've been cooked longer), so it was messy eating them with the hard lentils spilling all over. Still yummy though! Yes, there are better Ethiopian restaurants out there but the fact that they open so early and the food was decent deserves 4 stars. Will order from them again next time we are passing through or in the area. read more

I'm sitting here eating my leftovers from Ranch Side Café and thinking I need to leave a review because this Ethiopian food is so delicious! I'm eating the Ethiopian Fir Fir breakfast special... the flavors are amazing! My sister had the Ethiopian Chicken and the flavors were completely different (sweet and yummy!) and absolutely wonderful (try it on the rice and get the injera on the side)! We didn't realize they had Ethiopian food at this café (we've had their Mexican food which is also excellent) but this has got to be the best Ethiopian in Los Angeles. We will definitely be back... very soon!!! A huge thanks to the sweetest and most attentive server ever, Michelle, and to the owner Zee, who brought us out our food personally after she prepared it. She is so warm hearted and beautiful! We highly, highly, highly recommend this cafe and recommend tantalizing your taste buds with Ethiopian food. You won't regret it! read more
