I've been here a few times and always choose to come back solely because of the table side guacamole that is served! You get to choose what goes in and the spice level that you like - can't get any better than that. It's also a huge portion! I got the number 20 combo: enchilada suiza and stuffed poblano pepper. The enchilada was a little dry and could use more sauce but the poblano pepper was delicious and had lots of flavor. Also comes with a large side of beans rice. I've also had the tostado which you can't wrong with, especially with the big, crunchy shell. Their margaritas are great and flavorful. I don't like giving bad reviews but I just couldn't let this one go... Elvira's Mexican food is our go to for delicious, authentic Mexican food. We were a lil on the lazy side today and decided to try Rancho Los Migueyes since it was a lil less of a drive. We knew there was a reason we hadn't been there in a very long time, but couldn't remember what it was. Wow do we regret it!! The food was horrible! Tasted old and was masked with onions and tomatoes.We could only take a bite! We ordered 3 asada plates. Honestly I couldn't tell what the meat was... it was gross. The rice and beans were not any better. The chips were hard and stale. And the host had a poor attitude and no mask on. Worst part is I paid almost $50 for it and threw it all in the trash! I guess you shouldn't mess with the best when you know what that is... ELVIRAS Mexican Grill -Upland or Claremont. You can't go wrong! Never again Rancho los Migueyes! I went to Rancho Los Magueyes on a Tuesday evening for dinner with my brother and father. Upon arrival we had to wait a while before even being seen to ask us how many were in our party. The restaurant wasn't even close to capacity. Once we sat down I was excited to promptly receive chips and salsa. The menus arrived to us about five minutes after our chips came. I needed extra time to decide on an entree since the menu was so huge but I like options. It took a while to be able to order since our waiter was busy at the service counter. Probably taking phone orders. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. The food eventually came out after sitting under the heat lamps for about ten minutes. It wasn't bad and it wasn't good. All in all I'll probably never visit this place again. The waiter was giving the table behind us a lot of attention. We had our waters filled once and my father had to leave his seat to seek out the bill. You're better off going to an el Torito type chain restaurant for better service and sadly probably better food. Get your act together Rancho Los Magueyes. read more

Summary: Tasty food, reasonable prices, good service, and a clean environment. Plenty of parking the shopping center, too. While visiting my aunt that lives a few minutes away, my wife, my aunt, and I visited Rancho Los Magueyes on a Sunday at around 3pm. My aunt had been before, but it had been a while since her most recent visit. When we arrived, there were only a few occupied tables in the decent-sized restaurant (probably because of the odd dining hour). We were immediately seated and given the menus to peruse. After a few minutes, our server returned with some chips and salsa, then took our food orders. My aunt has some dietary restrictions, so she ordered the carnitas plate with no rice or salsa. I ordered the two soft tacos combo with a grilled chicken and a carnitas soft taco. My wife ordered the camarones ala diabla. It didn't take long for the food to be delivered to our table and we began eating. The carnitas plate had an ample portion of chunked pork (not shredded) alongside a large helping of refried beans. My aunt said that everything was very tasty. I was able to confirm that with my carnitas soft taco, which was tender, flavorful, and good quality. My chicken soft taco was also quite good, albeit slightly dry without the salsa that I added to it. The beans and rice that accompanied were solid, as well. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her shrimp, indicating that the sauce was spicy and tasty, while the shrimp were well cooked. All of the food was very good and the service throughout the meal was pretty attentive and friendly. Given the quantity and quality of the food, the prices are more than reasonable. Both my wife and aunt had a lot of food leftover to take home. We would definitely come back again. read more

Cool little Mexican place, my chicken fajitas were very good, couldn't eat it all, my wife had the wet burrito and she couldn't eat all of hers eather, would have gone the whole five stars but, the server forgot my tortillas and it took a while to get his attention,my guess is they are short staff so I'm going to blame it on Covid 29 like everybody else does. read more

We just left here, and I wanted to write this now while it I all fresh. My family moved to Upland 6 weeks ago, and once we were able to start discovering the area we were stoked to see a Mexican restaurant within walking distance. Tonight we finally used the opportunity of having family in town to visit this restaurant. We walked in at 6:50 with a party of six, we were offered three different tables and chose a large booth in a corner, which is definitely normal for us because we have three kids, 8 and under. The person that sat us asked for a drink order immediately and we asked for just a minute, as it was our first time there. Once he returned we ordered two cocktails for us and drinks for our kids. Long story short we found out that they were out of milk, after we got our drinks from the bar, so we just ordered our two youngest water. We waited 10 minutes, literally, between getting drinks and our order taken, we had to tell the Bartender we were ready to order. Things only got worse from there when a different server appeared and asked, "what do you want?" (with his tablet in hand) NOT "Can I take your order? What can I get for you?" So we ordered. So basically from here on out, here is how it went- the main bathroom was closed, so we had to take the kids to the one in their banquet area, it had no toilet paper. The food our guest ordered came out wrong, my food was bland and boring (tostada salad with shrimp) My Skinny Margarita had a salted rim when I asked for it to not (he offered to take it back as he handed it to me, I declined because it had already taken too long) and we got charged for the milks they were out of. We discovered that after we waited for 6 minutes after I asked for the check and a box and then finally walked to the front myself. I'm really disappointed. If the service was having a bad night, I could write it off, but the service, and just barely okay food combined, I wouldn't come back for a while and try a few other Mexican restaurants before we do. read more

This place is within walking distance of where I live so I thought I'd go for a stroll this evening and pick up some dinner. Never having been here, I tried two shredded beef tacos a la carte, a side of guacamole and chips/salsa. The tacos were good. Not fabulous but they were solidly good. The shredded beef had really good flavor. The guacamole was delicious. It was creamy, slightly chunky and was seasoned very well. The chips were certainly house made but were a tad stale. The salsa was not enjoyable. It tasted like it was out of a jar. Will I go back? Yes. The tacos were fine and the guac rocks. That's all I need. read more

Is it normal for a waiter to nod 'yes' to a request like he hears you only to say "No. We don't have whole beans here." after the food gets there? Ok food... bad service. I have visited this restaurant at least 10 times in the 2 1/2 years I have lived here. It was a normal stop for Tacos. We returned for both convenience and the food is good. Chips and salsa are good. As far as the food is concerned, I would say it is above average. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the service. This has been true of every visit. The restaurant was not busy, it only had 4-5 tables seated. Last night we were greeted and brought drinks. It was prompt. Afterwards, nothing was prompt. We sat 10 minutes before I asked for a waiter so we could order. He was pleasant, but we never saw him again. I had to get up for a soda refill. Then I had to get up for water refill. Then I had to flag the busboy for togo boxes. The busboy approached with a negative sounding, "what?!", like I was annoying him. Then I had to ask for the check and I had to bring it to the bar to pay. I saw the servers at the bar with heads down, not looking at the guests, and one looked like he was on his phone. I managed full-service restaurants for for nearly 30 years, so I am not a novice. Food is ok, service is horrible. read more
