Disappointed . I use to go to the original Randy's Donuts on Manchester growing up and was excited to try out the location in the OC. The location was not well thought out since the drive thru extended out into the busy Harbor Blvd around the corner into the adjacent street blocking traffic. Cars and semi's were upset swerving to avoid the drive thru customers blocking half of their right of way. We finally got to order a dozen + 1, I had to repeat my order twice. I was ready with my list of what I wanted and then I got to the window and they still forgot my additional fruity pebbles. My first visit for my 1 year old was also my first visit to any location other than Inglewood... I was so impressed with the warm welcome given by Ilene who was working the counter at the time - my baby got her first donut (hole) ever and I was able to revisit a classic cream donut my taste buds never had forgotten. The donuts were good but the drive-thru service was very disappointing. The person taking our order kept repeating it back incorrectly. This might explain why received only four of the six donuts we ordered. They also forgot to make our macchiato and the hot coffee we received was room temperature. read more

Total bummer. After 30 minutes in the drive thru, I threw the doughnuts away. They were that bad. Stale and all sugar no flavor. They honestly tasted days old. There are so many other traditional doughnut shops with much better doughnuts and without the wait. read more

At this point my review is solely based on the ordering process, which was a complete nightmare. I get the sense they opened up way too early as their drive thru ordering machine still had wires hanging out, and there were a few people trying to figure out how to fix it. Then after an hour (yes it truly was an hour) I finally get to the point of placing my order, and am told the credit card machine was down and they only can take cash now (not like I have the option/time to hit up an ATM). I told them I only had $10 cash, and they said I could get a dozen of their basic donuts, but none of their specialty ones (which is why I was willing to wait an hour). Obviously, I was super disappointed, and figured no reason to go back until a month after they work out the bugs. I am sure the donuts are amazing, but do yourself a favor and wait (if you can) until the ordering process is smoother, and doesn't take up your entire lunch break. read more

Disappointing. Was eager to try it. Line happened to be short so got in to drive through. Ordering was easy. Donuts unfortunately tasted like old oil. Especially the Long John and Apple Fritter. Been coming here a decent amount of times now since they've opened and we live up the street so it's convenient. Usually have everything on hand and no real complaints, donuts are a good size and taste great. The maple bar and glaze are my favorite. With that said I like to tip if and when someone goes above and beyond, if I have the extra cash, or change if/when I pay in cash. It does put me in a weird spot when I'm asked after handing over my card if I would like to add gratuity to my card... so now it's this awkward deliberation of not lookin like an ass or tipping. So then I say a dollar, I only got 2 donuts... and I get the awkward pause like that wasn't enough and they just repeat what I said "ok a dollar?" .... no receipt either or ever since I've been coming here... saw someone else's post about them adding tips and now I'm thinking about a few times I thought what I paid seemed a little more than expected but can't prove it, maybe it wasn't. I saw a corporate reply to the review about refunding a tip, no, keep the dollar and if I decide to go back and think a tip is warranted then I will.... however to spare myself the awkwardness of being asked up front for a tip at the drive through I may pass in the future.... read more

This place recently opened and always had a huge line but I decided to go yesterday on a Wednesday around 6-7pm and there was only one car in front of me. Lucky me! I ordered a Mix 3 dozen which includes 6 classics, 4 deluxe, and 2 premiums. I never tried Randy's before and oh my gosh it's bomb! Not too sweet! We came here yesterday for the first time as we're not from Cali! I was disappointed in the customer service. There were about 8 people in line and I was the 5th person in line and waited for over 30 mins while we all watched 10-12 cars go through drive thru. If I can recommend anything. DO the Drive Thru!!! The donuts are good and soft! No complaints there! But waiting in line for 30 mins as you see car after car get there donuts when they pull up within 5 mins is a problem. read more

I wondered how a place that's barely been open for 20 days could score a solid 3-star rating. The first two times I went I was ready to give Randy's a glowing review to try and bump it up. Then I happened to go there tonight and it was a total 180. Let me preface this by saying that I consider myself to be a respectful person. You show me respect and I'll show you it right back. Very simple. Tonight my order was wrong not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times (was it 5? I lost track of how many times I had to repeat myself). I normally would not have minded, but on top of that the girl who was taking the order (Sam) was so incredibly condescending I could not believe it. I wouldn't even speak to a child the way she spoke to me. Her attitude was ridiculously unnecessary (it's a donut order for crying out loud). One dozen classic and 4 additional donuts. Was this too much to ask??? She even tried to use the excuse that she was pulling as I was ordering so that's why she was all jumbled up. If you're pulling while I'm ordering it should be easy, particularly when I organized my speech in a way that would allow you to fill the classic box and then add the others separately. I specifically said classic dozen, proceeded to request the exact 12 from only the classic category (and mind you I was only asking for 3 variations), then listed the single 4. After I ordered she said "that's going to change the price." The only way the price is going to change is if the order got messed up. So we had to go over it yet again. Apart from pulling them myself, I don't know how I could have made this any easier. Mistakes happen, but there is no place for innate condescension when you are customer-facing. Get her off of that speaker. She is not who you want representing your business. I didn't catch our cashier's name (as they don't have name tags - I had to ask for the order taker's name because I was so livid), but thank God she was nice, respectful, and competent. She was wearing a headset too so I'm sure she heard the entire exchange and can vouch for everything I just said. You should have her taking orders instead - then maybe the drive-thru line would move more efficiently and ordering won't be such a dramatic experience. Anyway, since I'm here I'll put my two cents in about the quality of the donuts. They're not all good, but the good ones are really good. They don't have as many gourmet options and they're definitely not Sidecar quality, but they're available 24/7, so they're your best bet if you have a late-night craving. The Glazed Raised, Sugar Raised, and Cinnamon Roll are our favorites. The dough on those were pillowy soft and bordering on mochi consistency. They were still good the next day. The not so good ones we tried were the Chocolate Iced Cruller (dry), Pink Raised w/Sprinkles (glaze was too thick so it did not adhere properly to the donut, which made it crumble quite a bit and we ended up throwing it away), Powdered Sugar Cake (dry), Matcha Tea Raised (the only thing Matcha about this was that it was green, which was a bit of a letdown considering it's in their Premium category), and Glazed Crondy (I'm guessing this is their version of a cronut, but it's way too flat and would benefit from added layers to add some softness). I'd also recommend installing a second menu at the drive-thru so that people who don't come already knowing what they want can decide prior to their turn. That'll increase your efficiency during peak times. On a side note, I appreciate that the menu can be updated in real-time so that we know what is sold out without having to ask. Above all, I'm really hoping that the owners make sure their staff is, at the very least, polite. This is a customer service oriented business and there are far too many reviews commenting on the rudeness from some of the staff. Good luck, Randy's. read more

We were very excited to have Randy's in our town. We even waited in line when they opened. The donuts are very good. The coffee too. The service is another story. The few times we've been, our order has been wrong nearly every time. We keep giving them the benefit of the doubt but now we can't. We drove through and the staff was so loud she kept repeating order wrong over and over. When we got to the window they repeated the order and it was still wrong. We corrected them and when served it was wrong. We received no sugar for our coffee though we asked for it three times. Through the drive through window you could see the staff fooling around. My mom wanted the lemon old fashioned, which are really good. Funny enough, it was given to us by mistake, but turned out to be a favorite for us now. Tonight, the staff cannot count. I ordered 6 lemon old fashioned in drive thru. Received one in a bag. I said we ordered 6. She says why would anyone order just one donut. I noticed while watching her she only put 4 in the box. I handed the box to my mom and said open the box. yep, just 4. I honk my horn and a different girl helps us and I said we ordered 6, received one in a box and 4 in a box. She goes and gets another one in a bag. I dumped the one we already received in the box. I look up and the employee who can't count talks to the other girl and both come to the window. She said I gave you 6. I said 4 were in the box and the one in the bag, I dumped in the box. Total 5. Some more back and forth and she waves her hand and walks away. Really bad service today, my kids loved the donuts from here and now that is Randy's just around the corner even better, but after today not going back ever again, Just went to randy's and they forgot to give me a croissant even after i asked if it was all my order completed the cashier said yes, but no it wasn't completed, so i had to drive back and said at the drive thru that i was going back because they forgot the croissant, he still tried to charged me again for it, i said i already paid for it they just forgot to give it to me, but he said to ask him nicer so he can give me my food, something that i paid and they forgot to give it, that's so ridiculous, really disappointed read more

Donuts are pretty good. Bigger then the average donut, which is good. I ordered almost a dozen and a croissant. They forgot to give me the croissant, but didn't charge me for it. They even asked if I wanted it warmed up, which meant they heard me loud and clear over the drive thru speaker. They also charged me extra for the wrong donut. I got a devils food cake donut, but they charged me for a "funfetti" donut, which was a bit more expensive. Overall, good experience. Maybe a once every now and then thing? Dont ever buy them donuts from this place because gnats and flies have probably touched this donuts. i was here the other day and the place was a complete mess because the store was short staffed and there was only one cashier doing both drive thru and the counter inside. the pay must be minimum since they cant afford to hire more workers. i felt sorry for the asian young lady working since she was probly so stressed and overwhelmed by the influx of people attacking her because she could only attend one person at a time. i tried the cake donuts on a monday they were super dry and too sweet and looked horrible. so disapointing wow! i thought this donuts were so called famous. instead they should be called randys so called dry famous cake donuts. so disapointing. i wish that the young asian finds a better paying job where she is appreciated because it seems they really dont care for her well being. never again will i try them nasty dry disgusting donuts. bye forever mr famous donuts! read more

Arrived at the doughnut shop on March 12 at 10:28 pm and didn't order doughnuts until 11:45. The tv screen want accurate and wasted more time ordering. I ordered a dozen of doughnuts and when I received them I only got 8 doughnuts instead of 12. I also got 3 medium sized hot chocolates and when I received them they were cold and didn't even taste like chocolate just water. The chocolate doughnut I ordered was very old and the glazing was hard. I ended up throwing away the 3 hot chocolates what a waste of money for something that I can make at home. I even thought this place would be better than Krispy Kreme but everything ended up tasting like trash. Some of the doughnuts were good but some were old. Overall I don't recommend wasting your time and money on this new overrated doughnut shop. They're very unorganized. Just go to Krispy Kreme for a cheaper dozen that has delicious quality doughnuts.
