Another food spot from LA has made its way to the Vegas Valley with the arrival of Randy's Donuts. As someone who grew up in Southern California, I didn't go to Randy's that often, but now that it's here, I will.  The first location (with more planned for Vegas) is on Rainbow Blvd., complete with a drive-thru window. I like the great variety offered here and the prices are reasonable. The donuts are handmade at the store with a nice, fresh taste.  On our most recent visit, I got their seasonal pumpkin spice donut and loved it.  The very next day, one of my co-workers happened to bring in 3 boxes of the goods for the office--yes! Today's date is January 13, 2023 I got to try Randy's donuts , now being a Cali girl and we'll go to the original Randy's donuts by LAX. I always got good donuts day or night. Today I live in Las Vegas, Nevada and I tried two different donuts from Randy's from the office of which I work I chose a maple round glaze, and I also chose a buttermilk bar. Attached are some photos of what the donuts look like. Needless to say I was greatly disappointed and if I had purchased those donuts, I would've asked for my money back. First time to Randy's. The giant donut out front is instantly recognizable from TV and movies but the actual product was new to me. It takes a lot to set a donut apart from one place to the next. Most are fairly standard. Randy's set themselves apart in one key aspect in my mind. I ordered a chocolate long john with cream. Something I would normally call an eclaire. What set this apart from other was the size. It really was long. Longer than a normal chocolate bar. The chocolate glaze on top was amazing. A dark and rich ganache type glaze. And the cream (basically pudding) was present from one end to the other. An all around fine example of my favorite donut. I wanted a second donut and I was struggling to decide which. The lady helping me recommended their seasonal donut. I went with that without knowing what it was. It turned out to be a pumpkin spice cake style donut. It was fine. Nothing special in my opinion. But I'm also not a passenger on the pumpkin spice band wagon. Service was not unpleasent. The donuts were pretty good with the winner being the long john. The biggest issue I had here was getting out of the parking lot. It is such a dang small parking. Obviously not the fault of the business. I just want to let you all know that there are some close quarters when leaving with your treats. Aside from that, this was a solid experience. read more

I was here the second day they opened because I needed to what alllllllll the hype was about. The service was spectacular, everyone was so kind and welcoming. I've opened a few restaurants in town myself over the years, so I know how fun grand openings are! I bought a dozen because one or even six, is never enough. Truth is, they were just so-so. I'm a simple girl and will always be sat with a classic cake or old fashion, but they were anticlimactic and kind of had an unpleasant after taste. Finally was able to visit knowing the lines should be calmer after its initial opening. We went on Veteran's Day around 12:30 pm. It was pretty empty so we decided to go inside rather than through the drive thru. There was only one other woman in there ordering so we took our time and looked at the offerings. They had the display case packed and yet we noticed when filling boxes, they filled from the tray racks instead. Kind of a good thing because honestly some of the ones in the case looked a little well done. We settled on a dozen: 2 raised sugar, 2 raised chocolate, 2 raised M&Ms, an Apple fritter, a chocolate crondy, a powdered donut, a red velvet, a raised s'mores, and a long John with Bavarian Cream. They took $2 off and our bill was $26 and change. Seems pricey but when you look at a dozen for mixed donuts from PinkBox it's not really that different. Somehow all 12 of them made the trip back home. When we opened the box, my husband was poking the donuts and called me over to show me how incredibly soft and doughy they were. So far we have eaten a sugar donut and the chocolate crondy and we are surprised with the quality, after reading other reviews. read more

Every Tuesday I purchase doughnuts for a work meeting I attend and the response in the office for Randy's has been nothing but positive. I used to frequent a certain Pink competitor for my weekly but when Randy's opened I decided to give them a whirl. In comparison to most doughnut establishments, Randy's in my opinion has a very light bread, so light it almost melts in your mouth. The frosting or toppings are also of better quality. So we are in LV on a family vacation. We had dinner and wanted some dessert. We opted for Randy's. We have had Randy's at the original spot. We arrived to an assortment of yummy doughnuts. The wife and I went with the cronut. My kids went with the holiday doughnuts which was a green holiday doughnut and the snowman. Let me start with the cronut doughnut. DELICIOUS! Soft and sweet. This blows all of the sugary, over-the-top donut places around like Donut Bar and Pinkbox out of the water, sorry. So today was the second day Randy's was open. The lines inside and at the drive thru were fairly long due to customer curiosity and employees trying to gel and work cohesively. I waited in line on the inside, which went out the door and down the building a ways. I probably waited 45 minutes but it went by pretty quick because I ran into people from all over the country happy and excited to try this new adventure. I've waited in long lines before but never had it been so pleasant. There's a little bit of outdoor seating but that's about it for seats. The place has an incredible variety and their donuts are extremely fresh. I got a dozen, from an assortment of cake donuts to crullers to specialty donuts that just looked cool. Taking a bite of one of these donuts is like taking a bite of air, the dough literally melts in your mouth as you take a bite. So was it a long wait? Kind of. Was it worth it? Absolutely. And I think the bigger picture here is how much fun it is to be around people that love food as much as you. Definitely give Randy's a try, and if the line looks a bit long, take a minute to get to know the people around you in line, because they wouldn't be willing to wait out there in the heat if they weren't foodies too! read more

The famous Randy's Donuts has arrived here in Las Vegas. Located on 2170 Rainbow Blvd, the store opened yesterday August 16th which was literally a sellout. They are open 24 hours, however yesterday due to the overwhelming demand, they ran out and had to close. They reopened today at 5:30am and hopefully they have enough to meet the high demands. These donuts are one of a kind and my first taste of Randy's Donuts was many moons ago at their original location in Inglewood. That donut shop has been featured in many movies and now Vegas gets a chance to experience the goodness. Rumor has it there will be several other locations throughout the valley. Hoping one opens up in the Henderson/Anthem area. Contrary to what a few have reviewed here this place is Top of the line. Wait a few days to let the hype settle and grab yourself a few dozen donuts. Got on the drive thru line at 10am on the dot! We waited 36 minutes until we paid and got our donuts (honestly it would have taken less time but the car in front of us was having some kind of issue)... then as we pulled up to order we figured why the car in front of us was having issues, the girl taking the order could hardly hear us. But I'll get to that in a bit. We were lucky because as we pulled up to the drive thru line it was just hitting Rainbow Blvd so I told my boyfriend that it shouldn't be more than an hour wait. He counted 25 people waiting in line by the front door and I told him I can't stand under the sun for that line even though most of the people were in the shade created by the awning. As we were waiting in the drive thru I noticed the "Sold Out" van that I had read about. So I told my boyfriend that they move that van to the front parking lot once they are sold out to let ppl know they sold out. And then I saw the "Drive Trhu" sign and ummmm, did they not do a spell check or is that some kind of insider joke? Anyways the sign is really faded and they need to use better paint/chalkboard neon markers or something. Then the other sign by the menu board has fallen off the stand and it just looks like they put together this store in a haste. When we got to the ordering box the girl taking the order was having a really hard time hearing me so I was basically shouting and even then she couldn't hear/understand what I wanted. I asked her some questions and she thought I was ordering speciality donuts so I gave up trying to ask questions. I was trying to see if they can make a cherry iced raised donut for me. So I ordered 12 donuts but she missed one. I ordered a small ice coffee with milk and sugar and she asked what flavor and I said plain coffee flavor which I guess she took for black coffee. I had to enjoy my coffee after I got home and after adding some sugar and cream. It wouldn't have been cool if I wasn't going home and didn't have access to milk and sugar. I shared the donuts with my family and these things are so huge that even then it was still a lot of donut left. The donuts with filling was packed with filling! It was actually too much filling (I like a certain ratio of filling to donut). But like everyone else said these donuts are soft! My boyfriend did say that the chocolate twist was a bit undercooked. I got the crondy for my sister and she said they were a bit oily. I took a bite of the long John with cream and the Bavarian cream was tasty and the donut had a strong flavor of cinnamon and nutmeg or something and I wasn't expecting that... I guess I was thinking it'll taste more like a Boston cream donut. Anyways I'm a bit sugared out for the moment and didn't get through the other flavors. I hope they taste ok tomorrow. My suggestions for the business: fix the drive thru sign, fix the speaker box or get better headsets so that there's less communication issues (it'll speed up the line as well) or have someone outside taking orders like how In n Out and Starbucks has it during the morning and lunch rushes... but for Randys, it may be all morning, have 2-3 employees switch off every 10-15 mins so they don't get overheated outside taking iPad orders) I also have Randys rewards but no one asked me for my info and the app doesn't allow for in app ordering (hopefully they'll get that up and running soon). As with any new business opening there's always going to be kinks the first month. So keep an open mind and be patient while you wait. read more

My son and daughter-in-law picked up Randy's Donuts the other day . Boy were we disappointed ! Not the worst we've had , but close and expensive . 6 donuts were $17 . The Apple Fritter had no chunks of apple , Toasted Coconut we all tried a bite and threw away and I love coconut , Lemon Filled hardly had any filling . They were all kind of rubbery . I went in at 8pm on a Wednesday night no line at all and still quite a bit to pick from. This location is 40mins from me but definitely worth the trip for Randys! We finally checked out to see what the hype is for Randy's Donuts. The verdict: they are not as "dense" as Dunkin Donuts but more than krispy kreme. It's very good. For me, the frostings are very sweet, I can only take a couple of bites otherwise my diabetes would sky rocket easily!! The staff seem friendly and I like how they have people taking your order and putting the donuts in the box for you and another person would ring you up. It moves along quickly as there was quite a line behind us. We went around 9:30am on a Tuesday and there wasn't a line but after us, about 10 people came in. They just opened a couple days ago, so the line was pretty long. We waited in line for at least 30 minutes, but it was worth it! They are originally from the LA area of Southern California, and one of the guys in line told me that the line in LA is always this long and that they have been in business since the 1950's. I tried a maple bar and a regular glaze. Definitely the BEST donut shop in Vegas. Rumor has it they may open some additional locations. I had to take away stars, because the past two times I've come they've completely botched my orders. I ordered a very simple iced coffee and she continuously tried to name every other coffee drink on the menu and acted like ice coffee didn't exist. It's literally the first thing listed on the menu. Instead I received a 12 ounce latte with vanilla and an extra shot of something. Not even close to the large iced coffee with cream and sugar I ordered. I also tip in cash, and I currently have a second charge for two dollars on my bank statement, that certainly looks like they added an additional tip to it. Very disappointed. my other issue is they take payment, and then tell you something is out and they just put something else in the bag to make up for it. A Randy's location recently opened in Las Vegas and people have been lining up for weeks. I was weary of the hype but wanted to give it a shot. In short - the donuts hold up! I tried the strawberry filled powdered donut and it was just as good as some of the best that I've had. The real differentiator here is the dough and possibly how it is fried.
