New tea spot Alert! Got the chance to stop by Raretea w/ a friend a few weeks back and it was very good. I love a boba fruit tea especially when it's made right. I ordered the Mango Passion fruit green tea w/ boba. It came in a cute cup and was the perfect amount of sweet. I liked that the green tea wasn't too bitter as it balanced out the sweet and tangy from the mango and passion fruit flavors. The service was great. I was assisted by the owner who was very nice and full of energy. She recommended some items that met my taste buds and that's how I decided on my drink. I'm so indecisive sometimes so I'm always pleased when great recommendations turn out to be the best choice. Location is right at the start of midtown tucked away in this cute small parking lot. Keep your eyes open upon arrival or you can miss it. Location has indoor and patio seating providing variety to the guests. When I went that day there was not too much decor on the inside, but like I stated it had just opened so give them time to really settle in. The atmosphere is more of a chill vibe for those who wanna get their boba fix or meet up with a buddy or two and just hang out. Overall, Raretea is a cool spot to visit. I rarely go to this area, but I wanted to check out their matcha. I didn't get a chance to check out their boba, but they have a delivery option! I'd probably use that next time. At the time I checked, the costs were the same on Door Dash. I like matcha as much as I do coffee. I don't know of many places that offer matcha in reno. Matcha flavor is not the same thing. They use ceremonial grade matcha. It isn't as strong as I make at home but strong enough. I got the rose petal one. They have board games to play with. I didn't play with any of them, so I couldn't say anymore on that. It's a quiet space, bright and close to many things. They have a small parking lot shared with neighboring businesses. In terms of the drinks... -Lemon Spring Tea, very refreshing and a bit too sweet, so I suggest lowering the sweetness a tad bit. Reminds me of the Vita or Master Kong Lemon Tea drinks -Lychee Milk Tea Smootea, pretty nice and tastes very much like lychee -Uji Matcha Latta, honestly a bit disappointing. It is too powdery. There is too much matcha in it and it stained my countertops :c I don't suggest getting this. -Tea-Presso Milk Tea w/High Mountain Oolong Tea and Non-Daily Milk, I am kinda of confused if there should be espresso in this. It tasted watered down and not too much espresso. I do enjoy the high mountain oolong tea though! -Caramelized Brown Sugar Boba Fresh Milk, one of my favorites, but I have gotten it so much that I am a bit sick of it xD. It is very very sweet and good to have once in a while. -Mango Green/Black Tea, a good classic tea. Can't go wrong with this. Toppings I would usually get are lychee jelly or the brown sugar boba. The lychee jelly is standard. I suggest the brown sugar boba instead of the boba, so you can really taste the boba. It just tastes so good! The consistency of the boba themselves is great! Came by last weekend as a quick "pick me up" High tea oolong teapresso- 4/5. Definitely for the tea lovers. Coffee milk tea- 5/5 Didn't try their bobas. The girl working the counter was actually pretty friendly. Ordered 2 drinks and it took a little over 20 mins to get it. It wasn't too busy either. I'm not sure what was going on but for 10+ mins straight no drinks were being called out. Then suddenly ALL drinks were getting called out within 5mins. Seems like there were only 2 people working. Place is not very clean. It has a clean look to it. But it seems like they weren't able to clean the tables often throughout the day bc several of the tables were wet from the previous people's drinks. Parking was actually very nice. The grass jelly and egg pudding actually tasted amazing with the drink. They used what seems to be like shaved ice which surprisingly why I like it a little more. The cup was actually pretty sturdy and sleek and sealed nicely not the flimsy cup. I did not try my friends mango smoothie with aloe. It looks amazing and she even said it was. I'm so happy that we have another boba tea shop available! We went during their grand opening and the drinks menu all look appealing to me. We got the uno matcha and the duo grape tea. Both of them tasted great! The cheese foam on the duo grape tea was creamy and the grapes are refreshing! I just wish they can cut the grapes smaller so they can pass through my straw. The service was fast so minimum wait time. There was a TV that was playing the NBA game so it kept folks entertained. This is probably one of the biggest boba tea shop I've seen.
