Love this place. Came here to pick up lunch and found a lot of people in line. Can't blame them the food is great here. Today I decided to.try the chicken curry.

I heard from a friend, Cindy S., that Rascals Teriyaki Grill is a South Bay institution, and you can often find their legendary Chinese Chopped Salad at parties. This piqued my interest, and I knew I had to visit. I wasn't very hungry after a big breakfast, but I wanted to try the place out since I came a long way. I ordered the Teriyaki Beef and Chicken Combo ($13.50), which includes a good portion of beef and chicken with white rice and a side salad. It was pretty good, but not the best I've had in SoCal. The value is excellent; you get a lot of food for under $15. I came for the Chinese Chopped Salad, so I ordered a small one ($9.50) with shredded chicken, almonds, lettuce, and wonton crackers. Their salad dressing is amazing. I was so full, but I made sure to finish it. I was too full to eat the Teriyaki Beef and Chicken Combo, so I brought it home for my family. They loved it! I will definitely be back to Rascals Teriyaki Grill next time I'm in the South Bay.

I love this place, it's been a minute and as of moment they still don't disappoint. The flavors are on point. I have tried the curry, the chicken sandwich a little messy, the Chinese chicken salad. The coleslaw on point and not forgetting the fabulous chicken teriyaki yummy. The service is very welcoming and quick to order. The fries are great, but getting them to go with a plate item. Not so much, you need to place holes so the fries aren't soggy. Other than that, keep up the good work and your establishment always stay clean . Thank you

First time at Rascals! I was so excited to go- the place is huge very clean and the staff were amazingly nice and informative (Ian) very helpful with selling the perfect size platter for family Christmas party. The Food is also Amazing! I highly recommend visiting this Gardena Location especially if you have to grab last minute catering food items. I ordered the CCS Chinese chicken salad. Each tray was about $55 very reasonable for last minute.

First time going here and it wasn't a good experience. Cashier with no greeting after chatting up a storm with previous customer. Lady giving out the food was friendly but the amount of chicken is really bad. They just give you tons of salad and rice but little bit of the meat. Won't be back.

I used to go to the one in Long Beach before it closed years ago. Now this location is close to me and it's a great Teri bowl staple when you want a simple wholesome meal. Heads up they don't sell their famous dressing by itself it only comes with a salad purchase. Lately I've been liking their bag beef and half chicken bowl, I can stretch this out to 3 meals sometimes. Plenty of parking available and the food coma out pretty quick.

Not going here again. Was recommended by a friend for an easy pick up for dinner. Definitely not worth it. Very cheap with the chicken, All rice and lettuce and doesn't even look like a whole chicken breast. I would be embarrassed serving this. At least fill the other sections of the box or pack in a smaller box to look like it's more food. VERY disappointed. ***update after eating- the chicken is gross, chewy, thin, no wonder they put so much teriyaki sauce on :(

The Service was meh. Cashier was not helpful. Yet very empty. We all have our bad days. I arrived at 12 noon on a Saturday an hour after opening. Not sure if I will come back to this Location anytime soon

Ordered the Teri Plate, with both chicken & beef. The complete meal with delicious, including the salad .

I've had a meal from this place before, but I always had it delivered, so I never got to interact with the staff. I went in person for an order and was helped by friendly staff.

I was with three friends and I was not hungry until I tried the miso charred rockfish. I was quite impressed how fresh the fish is and loved the flavors meld into this one temaki. So I had to order another one. I also tried the daikon ponzu blue crab. That was amazing too. I'm looking forward to return while I'm here visiting. You have to make reservations. The service up front is quick, friendly, and laid‑back, matching the whole casual, chill atmosphere, the kind of vibe where you can unwind, sip something cold, and watch the charcoal glow like it's performing a tiny, delicious magic trick. And the skewers? Oh man. Each one hits the grill freshly made by hand every few minutes as the orders get placed, using locally sourced, quality meats that somehow tastes like it grew up doing yoga and drinking alkaline water. "lol." The texture is firm, springy, and ridiculously juicy, a perfect testament to the chefs' skill. You can literally savor each skewer as it grills over Japanese charcoal, picking up that smoky, mouth‑watering flavor that makes you rethink every other skewer you've ever had before. After about 10 minutes, a server asked us if we wanted drinks and to order. We ordered. Drinks came out about 5 minutes later. Fantastic. About 30 minutes in, we were wondering what was taking so long with our food (2 katsu sets, age mochi, and shishamo). Nobody checked in on us and we couldn't flag anyone down. One or two servers passed by but were too preoccupied. We were pretty frustrated at around 8:45PM. At 8:50PM, a server comes up to our table (finally) and asks if we wanted to order anything for last call. I told her we did order but never received it. She was shocked and checked on the order. Turns out, the order was never placed in whatever system they have. As an apology, they gave us free edamame, but still never checked on the table again. Our food came out about 10 minutes later. It was okay. When we finished about 15 minutes after the food came out, I had to go to the main entrance to try to get our check. To no surprise, that came out quickly. I was excited to try this place. As stated, the food was okay. The lack of service is inexcusable. I don't suggest this place to anyone. Go somewhere else. There's so many other Japanese spots in Torrance. Try any of those.

The udon itself was very chewy, although, kinda subtle in flavor. It was overall pretty decent, but I had better udon from other places. I did like how it was less salty compared to many maze udon places though. I heard the spicy version was actually pretty spicy haha. The kaarage itself were also very huge pieces. Although, I wish they had more seasoning or at least had a dip bc it was lacking in flavor. It was just a big fried chicken. The one thing that was kinda bothersome was the lack of air ventilation in here. It was a pretty hot day, so the restaurant was just very warm and quite uncomfortable. It felt like there was no air everywhere. Also the tables were just soo sticky. The booths also feel like the cushions were definitely overused. The whole seating situation was not a pleasant experience. Food was okay, did not make up for the experience dining in though.

The atmosphere is quaint and transported me straight back to Japan -- such a nice touch. We shared the Kobe sliced beef don with raw egg and the fluffy omu-rice with hamburger steak in demi-glace sauce. We also got a side salad and iced green tea to cool off between bites. Everything was so flavorful -- perfectly savory without being overwhelming, and the portions were just right. I don't even like horseradish, so that didn't exactly sell me lol, but somehow the sauce doesn't really taste the way I expected and the whole thing works. So when I found out there was a Red Rock in Torrance, obviously I had to see how it compared. I came right when they opened, so it wasn't busy. They make everything fresh to order and even have a sign telling you to be patient. I ordered the smaller roast beef bowl and added the egg. Still good, and the egg definitely makes it better. But the surprise was the hamburger steak. It was only around $13, and normally this isn't something I'd get excited about. I'm usually not a huge fan of giant meatball/meatloaf-type things because I feel like the inside never has enough flavor. Then this came out covered in this super dark gravy and I wasn't expecting much. It was bomb. I actually think I liked the hamburger steak more than the roast beef, which I absolutely wasn't expecting. The roast beef is still good, but I'm really glad I tried something different instead of only ordering what I already knew. There were several other things I wanted to try, including the omurice, so I'll definitely be back. There's also a dessert place next door that I need to investigate next time because apparently one stop wasn't enough lol.
