Antipasto salad (split this huge salad with my hubby)!

Best kept brunch secret in the Tehachapi area! Their food is great! Servers are so sweet!! Please remember to tip!! --- Everything is very fresh and they serve huge portions! Highly recommend getting their chili and also trying out their freshly made apple banana walnut and lemon blueberry breads! Very reasonably priced and beautiful views of the sailplanes gliding in and out of the airport. Plenty of parking and worth getting off the main roads to try this place out!

Chili was very good, just the right amount of spices.

Ravens nest is a nice little Cafe attached to the glider port. Serving many food choices like handmade sandwiches, soups and salads. Definitely try the homemade chili with choice of bread which is made daily in house by the guy that took our order and made the food. I will be back again since I am a local resident.

Very fun to take your kids to where they can see the plane gliders! The chilli was delicious and the boys loved picking out an ice cream. Workers were friendly.

Cute little place. I highly recommend you come 8n spring or winter as there is NO Air conditioner it is very warm in her today!!! I feel bad for the employees suffering in the heat masked. Terrible! The menu looks pretty good with the largest part being breakfast. I order A salad and half sandwich. I loooove all the airplane history and memorabilia all over the walls. Our order was taken and delivered quickly. Delicious RANCH!!! You know I love my ranch yall. The bread ...mmmmm my veggie sandwich was sooo good! Many goodies made from scratch! The crew here is so nice and this location has so .uch history!!! Fanily owned, here since the 70's! This location screams Tehachapi. Small, home town feel. I can't wait to come back on a cooler day with the family!

Great little grill at the glider port. Fresh ingredients. Very nice cook and waitress. We had a veggie omelette with fruit salad and homemade banana bread.

The interior is very pleasing and cozy, and the staff is extremely welcoming and kind. My partner and I were greeted with warm smiles and great service. We ordered a sandwich to share as they aren't shy with stacking ingredients in there. We also ordered 2 slices of bread, lemon and banana bread, and we were given an extra piece that was cut from the end of the loaf. Everything was very tasty and I only regret not taking some baked goods for the road.

First time checking this place out, and it was such a cozy, enjoyable place. The staff was so friendly and wonderful, the breakfast burrito with fresh fruit, and the French toast were both excellent. And you can't beat the views! There isn't a lot of seating, but they have outside and indoor seating. Will definitely be back!

While sipping my coffee and eating a delicious omelette...this is the view!

Folks, this place is a little gem you should take time to experience. Tucked here in the mountains is a lovely family business teaching the world's best pilots the fundamentals of flight. Air Force test pilots, NASA astronauts, and a list of aviation trailblazers you wouldn't believe have come here for glider training. The RV Park and Cafe make the entire operation one-of-a-kind. The food is homemade and served as if you are one of the family. Previous negative reviews do not reflect reality of what I experienced here. Seriously, let's wake up and see one another for the gifts we offer the world. This is one of those special gifts.

The turkey ciabatta was flavorful, had the right amount of meat, cheese & pesto to the bread ratio. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and the Sunday afternoon knitting club was there knitting and pearling away while they sipped delicious coffee and ate delicacies from the baked goods. We were there for the delicious turkey ciabatta sandwich. The bread is toasted and it just makes the turkey spinach and tomato covered with melted provolone so much more tasty I chatted a while with members of the knitting club while we waited for our sandwich. They're there every Sunday and they knit for people that have cancer who need hats to stay warm. It's a great community up here in Tehachapi. I was impressed with it several years ago when we held a dance recital here this coffee shop seems to be sort of a club of community activity. The only downside is it does take a while to get your order because they're busy, but that sandwich was worth waiting for, and it made the miles from Tehachapi to Mojave speed by

They enjoy eating here and usually have no problem. It took a good 20 minutes before our server took our drink order, and even longer to take our dinner order. We all three ordered because I changed my mind and decided I wanted a club sandwich, I also ordered a salad and so did my friend. We never got them until our meal arrived, and even then one was forgotten. When one of my friends received her order it was the wrong one. She ordered a chicken sandwich, not a burger. The burger that did come was burnt; luckily that is not what she ordered. We had to ask for refills as our server was walking by. She never once came to our table to see if we were doing OK. My friend said this was definitely an off night for this place. 12/23/25

Tuesday, March 10th, we traveled to Bakersfield to pick up a vehicle I had purchased, and of course had to stop by Kohnen's. My wife and I split a Tuna and Cheddar Panini, and a loaded Turkey (we arrived too late for Sourdough!!). It is difficult to walk away without a mini-pie (try them all, but blackberry is freaking amazing!!). As always, Danelle was there with her typical congeniality and work ethic! We love her!! And I got to tell her about her doppelgänger in a restaurant in Yucaipa!! They do exist!! In summary, eat at Kohnen's!! Say hi to Danelle!

I visited Kohnen's Bakery Tehachapi yesterday with my family, and this was honestly one of the…read moreworst customer service experiences I've ever had. I only purchased two items -- one cream puff and one slice of cheesecake -- but the cashier charged my card THREE times due to repeated mistakes. Here's exactly what happened: 1) My first card (Card A) was charged $11.20. The cashier asked me if I wanted a receipt, and I said yes. Then she told me the receipt didn't come out because the transaction "didn't go through," and asked me to provide my card again. 2) I gave the same card again, and this time she charged $11.69. 3) Then again, she told me that it didn't go through, so I used a different debit card (Card B), which was charged $11.20. While sitting at the table with my family, I immediately checked my bank account and thought I had only been charged twice. I spoke to a staff member at the store and requested a refund for one of the $11.20 charges, which was processed. However, today I realized I had actually been charged three times, meaning there was still another $11.20 that needed to be refunded. So I called the bakery and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with someone named Danielle. I calmly explained the entire situation and told her I would send all my receipts and bank transaction records by email so they could double-check and confirm everything. She said ok and gave me their email address, but it was very long, and I was concerned about making a mistake while writing it down. So I politely asked if she could text me the email address instead. Her response was extremely rude -- she said, "I'm not required to do that," and told me to just write it down myself if I had a pen and paper. Although I was already uncomfortable with her attitude, I carefully wrote it down and sent the email. However, the email bounced back as invalid, even though I had confirmed the spelling with her multiple times over the phone. When I called again, Danielle answered and said, "Ma'am," in a very dismissive tone, and told me that they had found the three charges and had already processed refunds for both $11.20 transactions. I tried to confirm which card the refund was going to, since I used two different cards, but after putting me on hold for a long time, she read off a card number that was not mine. When I told her that wasn't my card, she insisted those were the only transactions for $11.20 yesterday and told me to "check my bank in a few days" and call back if the refund doesn't show up. And, she didn't apologize for the mistake, even though they charged my cards three times and wasted a significant amount of my time. Even yesterday, when I asked for an apology, I only received one reluctantly after I pointed out that they had made a mistake -- and even then, the response was dismissive, as if I should just accept it because they were "taking care of it." The attitude throughout this entire situation was rude, unprofessional, and extremely frustrating. The cheesecake was very good. But because of this experience, I would never come back. We drove all the way from Los Angeles to Tehachapi with my family, expecting a pleasant visit, but this bakery completely ruined the day. Being charged a total of $34.09 for just two small items due to repeated errors is unacceptable. If your staff cannot properly process payments, they should not be working as cashiers. Situations like this should never happen. What's even worse is that after making multiple mistakes, there was not a single sincere apology -- only attitude, dismissiveness, and instructions for me to keep checking my bank and call back again. My time is valuable. This entire situation could have been avoided if things were handled properly from the beginning. This was an extremely unpleasant experience, and I am very disappointed. Cf) For reference, the other $16.05 receipt is for bread that my brother purchased.

Most of the restaurants I was interested in on YELP were closed on Sunday nights, so we took this reco from a local and ran with it. The restaurant is set back from the street in a little shopping area just off the main street from the first exit going East. It is worth a stop even if you are just driving through town. The service was warm, friendly and attentive. I had heard that the shrimp tacos were good, and I was hungry, so I ordered the dinner. My husband got the Carne Asada dinner. I got a very reasonably priced glass of Chardonnay, which I sipped as I studied the selection of tequilas lined up behind the bar. We were also brought chips and salsa right away. The chips are good, but more like packaged chips than fried chips. I sipped my wine, and enjoyed the ambience of this "local's" restaurant. It is the kind of place that your small office goes to for a celebration lunch, or for casual drinks after work. It has that casual vibe combined with affordable pricing that makes it popular. Our dinners came quickly and we enjoyed the hearty dishes. The food is kind of American-Mexican, as there was tartar sauce on my shrimp tacos. The shrimp were plump and there were plenty of them. My husbands Carne Asada was tender and there was a rolled up cheese enchilada with his meal that was just yummy!! It all tasted good and home-made, and we went away satisfied and refreshed, with lots of take-out leftover!
