I needed a manicure and pedicure bad. I made an appointment for 2 days later loving the idea of a non toxic nail salon. I LOVE this salon. They're so friendly and accommodating. I have ticklish feet and they were so gentle with me. I originally went in for a regular manicure because my nails needed a lot of work, but they recommended the dip powder and I'll never say no. It's sustainable for over three weeks, when other dip powders I've tried lasted three days before chipping or lifting. None of that happened with this powder. The dip manicures here literally last over a MONTH (just use normal nail polish to paint where your nails are growing until you can get in again), and everything is cruelty-free! This was hands down THE BEST GEL MANI AND REG PEDI I have gotten in my life. like HANDS DOWN. So good I even called my mom immediately after. So good, I'm letting my dinner get cold because I need to share this with the Yelp world. For $40 total (excluding tip), I will def be returning. Lemme preface by saying I'm a native new yorker from the outer boroughs used to a 20$ mani-pedi with no frills and a basic back rub after. Cuticles always primped, nails shaped nicely, and good polish placed. This place went ABOVE AND BEYOND. YEA I'M USING HELLA CAPS LOCKS. even 3 hours after my experience AND after going to sweatu yoga, my feet still feel blissful. One downside- the number is sometimesnot manned well. And its a tiny establishment, so def consider calling in advance bc there are only 2 pedi chairs and 2 mani chairs. I luckilu came in at an off time, and I met the owner/main person Tiffany. She had to move her car And it seemed so quiet that she noted she had to call in her coworker in order to get started. No problem, gave me time to select colors. The seat for the pedi station is plush. No maasage feature, which is no biggie in the long run because of the attention and care I got throughout. Plus when you're given delicious jasmine tea, being able to sink into the chair makes it much more relaxing. While I was getting my toes done ( the sinks are BEAUTIFULLY simple modern Kohler designs), Tiffany set to do my hands. The scrubs used, the lotions, everything felt delicate but firm. Echoing other yelpers, they do take a while to shape, nails, remove polish, trim cuticles, but its very detail oriented and you dont feel like you're rushed. At the end of the drying portion for the toes, Tiffany placed shea butter on the nails and wrapped them in saran wrap. I never had that done before and she said it sometimes helps to prevent the polish from rubbing off while walking in shoes. I had a feeling a tiny bit would rub off my big toe only because I had to head out to go to my yoga class ( and I had some clunky boots on). Regardless, she spent about 10 minutes putting the wrap on, which really locked in moisture in a therapeutic way for me. I spent about 2 hours total there, and with fun Tiffany, and a mounted Samsung tablet to boot with NETFLIX ( started finally watching Friends, yes, I'm only a decade behind), it felt almost like a spa experience. The sun streaming through the slightly draped windows, the clean decor, the soothing music in the background, and the wonderfully attentive Tiffany made it worth it. read more

When she walked in for appointment Tiffany the owner told that she did not have an appointment booked under her name so she turned her down. So we did and right after making the reservation we made sure to text the number that was provide to confirm the appointment. She replies today (a day later) saying that 'She didn't get any appointment for her today.' So I actually walked in right after the text messages to find out what's going on. After the second time I think anyone would be little disappointed at the service (& I was very disappointed). So I simply asked her what's going on? (I have everything recorded because she was telling me that I was not respecting her) She could've told me or fixed the schedule yesterday when we messaged her. Instead, she was giving me lecture about how I should respect her, giving me excuses how she handles everything, there's no receptionist, her online scheduling system doesn't really work, everything is on her shoulder and blah blah. So I told her could you make the appointment right now in your system while I'm here since your online reservation does not work properly? I had to repeat that multiple times remind her that I would like to make an appointment while I'm at the salon because she went on and on lecturing me about how I should talk to her. You know what Tiffany? Maybe you should look into your customer services and reflect how you can improve your service so you don't have to deal with 'angry' customer and learn how approach an upset client instead of giving lecture, have a better respond for mistakes that made on your end. Amazing experience. I visited Raw Lab Spa this week and could not have been more pleased. It was very simple to set up an appointment through the online scheduling platform and I appreciated the text reminders that were sent. I opted to have the gel manicure and soak pedicure combo that is $45 when you pay in cash. This is a great deal and below the average for such a service. Tiffany and her staff are extremely efficient. Normally, I avoid getting my nails done because it takes so long, but at Raw Lab they do your nails and toes at the same time! While I sat in the pedicure chair watching the office on Netflix on the iPad attached to the chair, (another great touch! Makes time go by much quicker), one employee was painting my toes and another had a pillow on my lap and was sitting by my side doing my fingers. Raw Lab also provides you with a basket that contains polish samples that you can choose from. This is much easier than just looking at the polishes on the wall as you get to see what each color looks like outside the bottle. The salon itself is very small but absolutely spotless. They meticulously clean all products used and the staff place a disposable plastic covering over the pedicure tub before each use. The chairs used for the pedicures are extremely comfortable and large in size. Now, regarding the finished product-- I live a very active lifestyle and my gel manicure and regular pedicure are both in great shape 5 days later--not a single chip. The polish job was as close to perfect as one could expect and Raw Lab even offers a guarantee where you can go in and have chips fixed if it chips within a certain timeframe. I just got my first manicure here today and I loved it! I got a gel manicure with Tiffany and I've never had someone take such good care of my nails (and me) when getting a manicure! I usually avoid manicures because I usually find them to be painful but not this one. Plus I love that they don't use harsh chemicals. The environment is really relaxing and I was offered water as soon as I walked in. The chair was comfy (not one of those traditional massage chairs but a nice cushioned one) and they had a tablet so I could watch Netflix while getting my nails done. The place just feels so homey and comfortable, but also clean and professional - you sit in soft lounge chairs, they make you fresh jasmine tea, and you can even watch your favorite netflix shows on the iPads they give you!
