Such a terrible reviews so I was definitely nervous from ordering from this place. Most of the negative reviews, however are around dinners and entrée type of meals versus pizza. I ordered a plain pizza and a white pizza to be delivered totaled $40. I didn't think it was a terrible pizza nor overwhelmingly amazing. I would order again hence the 4 stars. A good average pizza. For my liking, I wish it had been cooked a little more or crispier on the bottom, but it had also been delivered and sitting in a pizza box so hard to gauge. The white pie was very flavorful. I had a nice subtle hint of garlic to it. The lady who answered the phone was very sweet and accommodating, as I had to call back a couple of times due to not having certain information handy and changing of orders and so forth. read more

Standard pizzeria. They do have some unique slice options, which I feel like are getting crazier and crazier. Crazy in a good way tho.. like the meat slices and the veggie slices are great options if you're looking for a hardy meal. The parking situation in the plaza's lot is a nightmare. It sometimes deters me from eating here because it's such a huge pain in the neck. Other than that.. go for it! This is the neighborhood's superior pizza option. read more

I had the worst Hawaiian pizza ever made in NY!! (Don't judge me bro! lol) The sauce was disgusting and the pieces of ham and pineapple were tiny and stale tasting! The personal pie was hastily thrown together and put on a really dry crust!! The garlic bread was just as bad!! It was really dry and had a burnt garlic taste to it. I threw it in the trash after two bites of it!! Whoever prepared this order should be embarrassed to put out food like this!! There's no wonder why they're a low rated so called restaurant!! Ray's is a local pizzeria. He is the only pizza place in the Tallman area. If we don't want to travel far to get pizza Rays is the place. His pizza has gone down hill! We picked up our food and mind you I live 2 minutes from Rays. Our food was cold, my order wrong and the cheese pie was disgrace! I feel nobody makes a good pie anymore!! There is a place opening in Suffern that I pray will have good pizza. It's not that hard ! I think this was the last time I will give Rays my hard earned money! Love there food and there service was fast and you love the place because it feels like a home

We've been ordering from Rays for a long time. To be honest, we mainly did it at first simply because you could easily order online. The food is average. The service is extremely rude. The delivery staff is the only silver lining. They're great. We've had a ton of orders that keep missing one or two items. Or don't come in over an hour, so we call and every time we do that, they magically say "Our driver just left." They put customers last above all else. And when you call to complain, they're rude and apparently don't know the phrase, "I'm sorry." Tonight was the last time. They forgot the chicken parmigiana hero for our order. So I had to call. No apology at all. Just a casual "You want me to send it out to you?" in a semi obnoxious tone. He added he'd send it out when his driver got back. 45 minutes later our parm arrived. And to top it off, the chicken was disgusting. It tasted half cooked, though it looked like it was cooked. It was just so gross we couldn't eat it. So we didn't. And now we have fully sworn off Ray's for good. Hopefully you'll heed my warning. read more

I ordered from here online via slice app... I obviously ordered at the wrong location because I was in Times Square and it picked up rays pizza upstate here. All I ordered was a single slice of rays special pizza... and they wouldn't refund me because it was "already made." Like honestly you couldn't just sell that to the next customer? I get that I ordered wrong... but this is clearly not good customer service. I understand if I ordered a whole pie... but slices are come and go and easily able to be sold. After having a few yummy slices here, I decided to share this deliciousness with my staff and ordered a large pie, half cheese, half w/ 2 regular toppings. Instead we received a PERSONAL PIE, CHEESELESS with four uneven slices! Of course I was charged for a LARGE CAPRESE PIE plus 2 toppings! And the order was late! I called to order and sometimes I get this guy who's REALLY rude. Usually I can get the order to go through even when he's making it seem like he's doing me a favor by taking my order. Tonight he incurred my WRATH. I put my order in and my dad wanted a 2 liter diet pepsi, but wanted to know the price. I asked him and he said hold on and put the phone down and after a minute and a half he HUNG UP. Like WTF? I called back asking why they hung up on me while taking my order and the guy who picked up HUNG UP AGAIN. Then I called back and someone obnoxiously said "Helloooo?" and hung up. I called again asking for the manager and again he said "Hellooo?" obnoxiously and hung up. I was INCENSED. I wanted PIZZA not HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. Then I waited a few minutes, calmed down. Tried one last time and when I figure the same guy picked up the phone he audibly said, "Bro, what the f---?" and hung up. WAS I CALLING YOU TO HANG OUT YOU IDIOT? NO I WAS TRYING TO ORDER PIZZA. So f'ng pissed. This place and that guy and their whole business can go suck one. read more

The 1 star is for the Snapple ice tea which was the only good thing. Wee ordered the fettuccine alfredo, it had absolutely no flavor and it cost $16. The beef patty with cheese was so small and burnt. The wings lord! No flavor at all. Will definitely not return. read more

My husband and I had delivery from Ray's last night and it was horrible. I ordered the grilled salmon salad for 2 reasons. One, because I love salmon and, two because the ingredients in it that were listed on the menu sounded great. The salmon was so overcooked that it was dry and like a piece of cardboard. I could not and did not eat it; my 2 dogs were happier with it than I was. Those wonderful ingredients listed on the menu? Several were nowhere to be found and others were in such small amounts that they might as well not have been there. My husband ordered a Philly Cheese steak that sat like a big lump in his stomach - it was very greasy. The fried calamari was okay. We are done with this place! read more

Their sauce has changed.... its much sweeter these days and it's somewhat disappointing: I've also gotten their Penna Alla Vodka and they had a bunch of spices in their sauce that were extremely overpowering and took away from the vodka sauce. Rays is good but I feel like they're changing. Update: just had their eggplant rollatini.... freezer burned! I don't know what happened to Rays. They're not consistent anymore. I used to love this restaurant but now they are awful. The food is really bad. Everytime I order fries they are soggy or just wrong. My pizza comes soggy. My favorite sandwich was a chicken parmesan on garlic bread. The last time I got one it was dry, hardly any cheese, and they didn't even make the bread garlic bread. Just threw some raw garlic on the bread. We decided not to order from them anymore since the last few experiences were bad. My advice is just not to do it read more

We were disappointed with the pizza. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day, bec it seems to be highly rated on Google Maps and rated ok om Yelp besides our experience. I hate when reviewers say negative things without details so I'll elaborate. Overall - Every aspect of the pizza was disappointing. Perhaps they needed more sauce? Not sure, but it didn't come together. Additionally - Besides the actual pizza, the toppings slid right off the pizza, as if it was just dropped on top afterward. Also got chicken on part of it and it was really dry. Positive - they were really fast. It was ready in 10 minutes. I would certainly trade this for a better put together pizza. This is a great place to pick up specialty pies. I have had their buffalo chicken pie and it is always consistently good! A favorite with everyone I've know who's tried it. They use real chicken as opposed some places that cut corners and use the processed stuff with little zazz. Vegetable slice was also loaded with veggies and scrumptious! They are very generous with their toppings on the specialty pies so you get your money's worth. It's safe to say standards like plain and pepperoni are safe bets as well. I will be back as I do thoroughly enjoy there pizza and want to try some other specialty pizzas and non pizza items. Once I come here a few more times and try more they have to offer I will consider giving this place 5 stars! I'll keep you posted with an update! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would, Me & my coworkers order from here often. One time because we called to let them know they forgot part of our order; he yelled at me and said so don't order from here anymore instead of trying to fix the issue. The past THREE times I've placed orders requesting specific things they charge me for it, but NEVER include it in my order. Today again I went thinking it would be a different outcome, stupid of me. I ordered the ravioli alla vodka which was supposed to have 6-7 raviolis. When I got home and was ready to eat 30 mins later. I opened my food and counted only 4 ravioli. I went back there and show them. The owner Ray was arguing with me and said to me that I ate 2 raviolis and came back here asking for more. I couldn't believe this guy. As the owner of this place this is how you're treating your customers. I get it you don't care about my business but that's not how you go about it Ray. Horrible delivery and customer service. My girlfriend ordered delivery and upon checking the food after delivery, we realized we did not get chicken on top of the salad that she ordered. When she called the "chef" said he put the chicken on and hung up. When I called after that he said they must have mixed up the orders. Only offered to have a credit for next order. Was passing through Suffern and dined in at Ray's pizza. Staff was pleasant. I ordered two slices with sausage. Was asked to have a seat and my order will be brung out to me. I got a 20oz bottle of soda from the fridge. On the walls are photos of baseball players and TV stars from of years pass. I did not have to wait long. At first looks the sausage pizza looked fine. I picked up a slice and the sauce and cheese held steady. Took a bite. Crust was fine, sausage and cheese ok but the sauce lacked flavor. Overall the pizza was average. I don't understand people in management. I been ordering from Rays pizza 2 to 3 times week. Tonight I ordered and I always order spaghetti on the side no tomatoes sauce, just with oil and garlic. My wife's allergic to tomatoes. We always have it delivered. We literally live 2 blocks away. We always tip the driver 3to 5 bucks everytime. Nethless to say our order came and they put tomatoe sauce on the spaghetti and forgot the garlic knots. I'll call over to let them know that the order was wrong and missing the garlic knots. I told the girl who answered the phone, which was also the one who took the order. She put on hold for the manager. The manager pick up the phone and said you didn't order it, its not the receipt. I told him we order that way everytime. In between this conversation they keep hanging up on me which is now getting me more frustrated,and Manager has the gall to say if you want it, come and get it! I'm not deliving it. Hello, your incompetent worker can't take an order right. And says well next time you order tell him we owe garlic knots. So he would rather lose a customer who been ordering 2 to 3 times a week. Then to have the delivery guy go 2 blocks to satisfy a steady customer. And he doesn't even apologizes for the mix up. So now you lost a good customer and got a bad review. I don't know if they have new people working there or they just don't gives 2 sh&%$* The food hasn't been as good as it was before. I would not recommend. Even if I got apologize would of been nice. I help coordinate lunch meetings for onboarding and corporate events at my company and my experience with Ray's has always been horrible. I'm not sure if this is done on purpose or the manager doesn't know how to keep track of his books but Ray's has repeatedly tried to scam my company into paying more. My company keeps our restaurant orders on a tab and we pay with a check at the end of the week and all other restaurants have been very easy to coordinate with. Ray's demands payment right away and the customer service has always been rude. When Ray's tried to double bill us and try and bill us with receipts of orders that were delivered to another location we tried to explain the situation to the woman on the phone and she yelled at my coworker and called her "mad rude". Another one of my coworkers tried to pay for a bill that was $111.00 and Ray's tried to charge her for $119. Also, the food from Ray's inst good at all you can get better pizza from Mamma Mia's and Nicky's. When you walk into Ray's it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in forever so I can only imagine how the kitchen is. Save your time and money and skip Ray's Pizza! read more

Ordered delivery for lunch to my office a few slices of pizza through seamless. The order took 1hr and 8 minutes to arrive. I called the place and the guy said " we don't deliverer to your location because its too far and we didn't call you". The place is 5 miles away and they didn't call me so its my problem? Spoke with Larry and he said "Ok thanks for the business and hung up" the driver arrived and said he was lost and that's why it took so long. The pizza is ice cold and went right into the garbage. The pizza places in Suffern/Airmont are sadly lacking, and this place is pretty average as well. I ordered a hero from them one day and it was pretty standard eggplant parm. Another time, hubby & I picked up some slices and garlic knots. The pretty was pretty basic, nothing exceptional, but definitely not the worst pizza I've ever had. I ordered lunch from them again yesterday and decided to get the Seafood alla Rays since my boss was paying. I was afraid the seafood would be overcooked, and it was. The shrimp were hard. The calamari was like rubber. The mussels were inedible. I tried one and had to spit it out and toss the rest, which was a shame. The mussels were so hard and overcooked that I could have made them better myself at home. The linguini wasn't overcooked, so I ate that and the shrimp. The sauce itself had good flavor and was well seasoned, but I wouldn't pay $17 for a plate of pasta. Also, the shrimp were cut in half lengthwise, still connected by the tail. I have never seen shrimp cooked that way. I don't know if they do that to peel/de-vein them easier, but it's incredibly awkward to eat a saucy shrimp that's been cut in half. The entree came with bread and a salad. I skipped the salad and ended up dipping the bread in the sauce. I brought the salad home and discovered the next day that's iceberg, a few sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, and some sliced black olives. I was going to eat it but the salad smelled "off" and the cucumbers were going mushy already, so I tossed it in the trash. I also ordered a loaf of garlic bread to eat the next day, and while it was seasoned decently, it was also incredibly oily and overpriced at $4 for a hero-size loaf. I would have tried them again for just pizza, but the place itself is kind of off putting since the day I stopped in, the door was open to let in a breeze (so insects could get in) and the paint job/interior of the place was kind of sad looking. We called to make a vegetable pizza delivery order. They called back after 19 minutes to figure put what we wanted!! After hungrily clarifying our order they still messes it up! We called to tell them, waited on hold for 4 minutes and 20 seconds, then they said "bring it back". If we wanted to leave the house we would wouldn't have had it delivered.
