Razzoo's is usually one of those places to go for great drinks and great Cajun cuisine however, this time was just average. Nothing special and the service was lacking (maybe it's the young wait staff or the fact that it was semi-busy). Top notch Cajun. Highly recommend the blackened chicken pasta. Great group outing setting; good atmosphere. Staff was very accommodating of a large group (no grief over separate checks). Best fried gator of all time. Yes most of the food is fried, but I know that if I want so other type of seafood I would go somewhere else. My service is usually good. I love the fried catfish. They do a good on drink specials. It is also a Cajun themed restaurant so it makes a Funny with its menu. Horrible!!! This would should about sum up my experience at this place. Got there at 12:30 got a table until 1:15. I had pointed out that table to the hostess about 20 minutes before and he said no - that they were working on our table. Well guess where we ended up sitting down. The table i pointed out. The waitress only took our order about 40 minutes our waitress gave us our food... Mine was wrong. It was a burger - how you mess up a burger. Well it happened to me. She never came back to our table to see how we were doing - we never got refills on our drinks. We had to go and tell someone else that my burger was wrong and she said she will let them know. The waitress still did not come to our table to tell me what was going on with my burger. Until it was time to go she came to give us our check and said - oh they are working on your burger. Well what was the point of it then... We were all leaving and I NEVER ATE... This is the reason why this place is just HORRIBLE!!! read more

Came here for the first time on vacation with my family, we started with the rat toes, which were ok, nothing special. 4 was in our group and we all ordered something different. I ordered the gator bunch bowl, it was seasoned well, def very tasty and different. My wife ordered the cajun skillet and she was happy with it minus the fact it just was overloaded with rice and not enough sausage. The other two in our party ordered a fish and chicken dish, the fish was GREAT we all wished we got that one, dont remb the name of it though. We have been here a few times. The staff at the front of the house has been pleasant each time. Our waitress Angel has done a reallt good job of getting us taken care of. The stuffed fish is amazing! The waitress Cookie was awesome, ordered two drinks they were both nasty and taste like they were served out of dirty cups, the appetizer Cajun Cracklin was cold cheese was not melted, order gumbo for my son it was cold, and ordered the Shrimp Brochette for myself and the steamed vegetables was the best thing on the plate. I love this place because I don't live in Louisiana. The staff was nice but didn't do anything to overly impress me. You can't get Cajun food many other place that I know of in DFW, though, I have had much better Cajun food. A chain restaurant seems to lose the magic that creole food has. Ok... just got to say I do not normally like hot spicy food... but.. Susan and I shared an appitizer and a meal.. the cajun shrimp dip fondu with toasted bread was just f**king awesome. ADD SOMETHING NEW! my favs include wings (naked, cuz the rest is just grease) cheeseburger (yes they actually have a very good cb) pork chops (could b more tender but really good) chicken fried steak is good/big but too thin). I'm a big fan. I went on a Friday night around 8:30 and had less than a 30 minute wait even though the place was packed. I could tell why once I ordered. The food came very quickly. This was my first time eating here and I do not know what the negative comments are about. The fish was the freshest I have eaten in a very long time. The service was great and the food came freshly made within less than 30 minutes. I have popcorn shrimp with fries to start and me a my friend ordered 2 choices off dinner menu, we also had 3 drinks, The Check was $55.00, coming from NY this was more than reasonable for dinner for 2. I will be stopping in for lunch to go more than likely daily based on the food I ate here on Saturday. The food was pretty good. My server made me not want to ever come back. It took my son and I one hour and ten minutes to share a plate. Only got 1 refill and that was from a different server. Every table around me was just as displeased about the service. Manager said she was a veteran. Which makes it even worse. Manager was very receptive to my concerns and offered a gift card to make up for it. Nice gesture but not what I was looking for. He said he would address the problem. I called this location hours prior to my visit to see if I could use my electronic gift card and was advise that I could after one of the girls who answered the phone verified that I had $50 available. I get there for a girls date with my 7 year old daughter only to find that I could not use my razzoos gift card towards our bill. While I understood that it had to be a plastic card the problem that I had was that 2 different people advised me that it could be used so when I expressed my concern for the misinformation on her staffs part manager Whitney then began to express that she was sure that it didn't happen so I would need to figure out a way to pay or she would be calling the police on myself and my child. I explained that I did not understand why the attitude when I had not once raised my voice and she then again stated that I need to figure it out then walked away. I was in shock. I have never in my life skipped out on a check and I'm a very understanding person but to speak to me in that tone with such disrespect in front of my daughter was unacceptable and I will not be returning. She went from 0-100 really fast all from a misunderstanding on her staffs part. I'm a retired Navy Chief and our group(Recruiting District Assistance Council)make it a point to stop by Razzoo's after our monthly Saturday meetings in Irving. As always, we are greeted with a friendly welcome by the manger, Brandon Puzonia and his crew. The Blacken Catfish is a dish you have to order when being there. I've ordered Blacken Catfish at other restaurants and they don't compare to the dish served here at Razzoo's. My fam recommended this place when I moved to the area a couple yrs ago. Since then, it's been my favorite restaurant. My mom is weeziana so Cajun food/spices taste amazing to me. I've had the ' nice cat filet' (blacked catfish) and catfish platters along with the shrimp basket and when available - fried gator. The catfish is the best I've had in this area - the same with the hush puppies. The shrimp is pretty good- the cherry sauce is exceptional. One of the worst dining experiences I've had in A long time. I'll try to keep this from being a novel ok? Yesterday was my birthday and I decided I wanted to go out to eat with some of my favorite people. We get to the restaurant and are told it will be a 15 min wait. Not bad for a Saturday. We get seated sooner than that and the young lady who took us to our table said she would bring our silverware. Time passes...... no waitress and no silverware. Finally someone comes to our table and asks if we've been helped. She took drink and appetizer orders. Then she disappears........... for a long time. Someone had brought our drinks and appetizers but by the time our waitress returns, we're about done with everything and still haven't given our entree orders. She comes to the table and asks how everything is and if we got our entrees. ??????? We inform her that no one has taken our order. I understand if it's busy, but for someone to tell me they've only been there a month and they had a really big table that took up a lot of time, it's just ridiculous. You can apologize for the wait, but don't give me excuses for the poor service. I'm a very good tipper but I just couldn't do it. Being ignored like that for that long really didn't set well with me. One of the worse experiences that I have ever had at any dining establishment to say the least. The level of service here is Mc D's quality at best, first server was not polite nor was she attentive and waited almost 10 mins before coming to take our drink order, so I went upto the front and requested that I be served by another server. So another server was assigned to my table and only came over once the whole time, which was over 30 mins. The only time the second server came over was to see if we needed anything after being assigned, when all we had was our drinks. On top of all this the food was sub par and so after having my fill of the "food" I decided it was time to leave, but wait my server was nowhere to be found. So once again I had to walk to the front to request my tab and asked to speak to a manager. When the manager arrived at my table he asked what the problem was and I explained how amazingly poor the service was he offered to subsidize the meal, which I refused. After feeling as though this manager was not taking my comments seriously I asked for the general managers name and number which he responded "I am actually the general manager" with a slight chuckle. If you feel like going to a restaurant that doesn't give a crap about the customer or the food this is the place for you, this includes the management at the establishment and their managers as well apparently. read more

I usually go to pappadeux for seafood and this is why. Our food was not that good and the prices don't speak for themselves. The service is mediocre and my wife hated the gator tail. Had a long overdue catch up lunch with my best friend and her baby. We both love Razzoo's but our experience this time was awful. Our waitress, Jazmine, was rude from the moment she greeted us. Then got annoyed because we weren't ready to order. She proceeded to hurry us into ordering when we still weren't quite ready. We've both worked in restaurants and know how it can be. We could VERY much tell she did not want to be there. Once we finally ordered, my best friend wasn't able to get what she really wanted because of how Jazmine kept getting annoyed with us. She never refilled our drinks, and was rushing us again with our tickets. Which we both were not ready for, as we wanted to place to go orders and a dessert. When she handed our tickets that we never asked for, we had to wait until she finally got around to our table. We were not completely comfortable asking for the other things because she we didn't want to make her more upset with us. Our food was good, and everyone else seemed so friendly! I've had authentic cajun food, damn good authentic cajun food actually, and you defintely won't find that here. What you will find, however, is enough artery-clogging goodness to last you a lifetime. If you are blessed with amazing genes and a newborn's heart I suggest you try the seafood combo platter, rat toes, fried gator (so good), fried pickles (my personal favorite) crawdaddies or the shrimp creole. If you're a true champ you'll just get the Jaws seafood platter like the balls out fool that you are. All good, all bad, all the time. Hey, that reminds me, when Razzoo's first opened its Lewisville location years and years ago they had this deliciously decadent concoction on the menu called swamp fries. We had a get together at Razzoo's on Friday to celebrate some employee promotions for some individuals that work with us. We thought we would try something different and see who wanted to meet up at Razzoo's after work. We were told that the restaurant did not take reservations so we did a walk-in to see if we could get some tables together to order during happy hour. The hostess pointed her assistant manager and referred me to go track her down toward the back of the restaurant. Was it odd that the hostess would have me track her down instead of her? Sure, but that's not even the worst part about the whole thing. I tracked down the female assistant manager (Rose, possibly?) and I advised her of the situation and explained we were expecting around 40 people. She said they could not get us anything over 25 people without her manager's approval and without proper wait staff on hand. This made sense so then I asked if we could just get some tables off to the lower left of the restaurant and have our guests just go up to the bar as needed so that they would not have to worry about servers and to also not crowd the bar area for them. The manager advised that they would not let us have some tables without a server and said that they did not want to cause confusion with having table and bar tabs. I understood that part which is why we were willing to forego a server and just have a section of tables together, if possible. The manager was adamant that we could not do this and would either have to all have separate tables or not have tables at all. This Razzoo's bar area has 4 tables directly next to the bar. I had asked if we could have those tables but was told that those were not open seating either and that they would not allow us to have these because it was a "server section" and they did not have a server to handle those tables yet. Instead they tried to give me one table out on the lower left area, away from the bar, and said I could have a server over there but would not let all of us move there to be helped together. This did not make much sense since there were no other customers in that section of the restaurant so I could not understand how they could have a server cover a completely vacant area yet could not just have that server handle the few tables near the bar area instead. We decided not to take the table and just stand at the bar area. After a few minutes, a gentleman assistant manager approached me and said that they could move us down to that lower left area, if I would like. I asked him if he meant everyone or just a table of six. He said he could move everyone and they'd have servers for us. At that time, the female manager came right back up to me and said that I was trying to get tables down below after she had already discussed with me that they could only accommodate what she previously discussed. I explained to her that the other assistant manager approached me, not the other way around, and he advised they could do this. She said she needed to have a talk with him them because that's not what was communicated and apologized for the miscommunication on their end. We maintained our decision and decided to stay at the bar area since management was making it more difficult than it needed to be, yet the restaurant was not busy at all when we arrived. Shortly after, a few guests were putting items down on the tables near the bar since no one was sitting there and a server came over and said that they needed to remove their items because they were going to use the bar tables for a family and so they pushed two of the four tables together. Funny that they claimed to have no servers working the bar area yet but were somehow very accommodating for a family that had just come in, but were not willing to work with us at all. The family that was sat ended up leaving the area, after requesting to be seated elsewhere, because they wanted a quiet table yet it seems like they were deliberately sat at the bar area to show us that those tables were taken and in a "server section." Odd that they would not just offer these to us once a server suddenly became available. This was a very negative experience and even though we brought in a decent amount of business on a slow Thursday afternoon, we did not feel very welcome at all. The exception here was the two bartenders that were very helpful and very welcoming, the entire time. It is unfortunate that the managers, who are representing the restaurant, were not. read more
