I'm not a huge pastry person but they had such unique flavors, i think it's worth a try. I'm a huge fan of any tea or Asian infused combination so I was able to try the oolong pineapple bun? And the black sesame banana bread. Both were good but the tea flavors were not super apparent, it was just subtle tastes of the tea flavor. I also tried the matcha early grey drink which is the combo of my two favorite teas. Pretty good! I'd come back here again and try the other pastries. I was happy to find a new cafe in the neighborhood. The interior is clean and has a comfortable seating area. It looks like a great place to hang out. I've had their Americano the first time I went there. I was not impressed because they don't have an area where I can put my own sugar and creamer for the coffee. I had to ask for it and they put the sugar and creamer for me. The coffee tasted okay but nothing special. Second time I went there, I had the Hojicha Latte. Again I was not impressed. It tasted grainy. I am not sure if that is how Hojicha should taste because it was my first time having that drink. My son bought an Earl Grey egg tart from there. I tasted it and it was delicious. My conclusion is that their coffee is just average. Their baked goods are better than their coffee. However, prices are relatively high for both coffee and baked goods. There are so many coffee shops and bakeries in this area, I hope they don't price themselves out of the market. I do like to support local and small businesses. I am trying to force myself to like this place so bad, so Ive come again three separate times to place different type of orders. My first time I came back and tried a season drink the matcha thai tea which should be a permanent menu item because it is pretty basic I wish they kept it. It paired so well together. Probably one of their best drinks imo. My second time I ordered the gone nuts latte with a sesame cookie. I do think the bakery items are way better than the actual coffee drinks here. The cookie was chewy inside and really flavorful. I liked the latte but again this place is so skimpy with the cream on top, its basically not much. I dont care if there is specific measurements, the recipes should be giving more to the paying customers or we should be able to request it because I do believe the drinks and the company can become that much better with that flexibility and ease. My third time today I made the mistake if coming towards closing and they shut down the espresso machine which honestly doesn't make sense. You should close when you're ready to close the doors then start turning everything off and in this case should close at 3:30pm then and not shut everything off. So unfortunately we couldn't order any hot drinks which they also lack a variety of yummy sounding hot drinks, since the main focus seems to be cold coffees. I went for it again and tried the strawberry matcha and it was kind-of a disappointment and brought me back to the first feeling I felt when I first came here, stingy with the strawberry, and just plain tasting matcha that lacked actual matcha flavor. It could be high quality but hey seriously need to look for a different matcha brand. It was a miss for me. Also tried the osmathus latte and the gone nuts again. Both just okay. We added on the Vietnamese coffee cookie and an Ube mochi scone. The scone is SO GOOD. I wish I can say the same about the coffee because the pairing would go insane. I love this location! The girl helping me out was so nice, she let me know what she thinks of the drinks and pastries and helped me make the right choice. I got a strawberry matcha with strawberry cream top and it was sooo good. The matcha is unsweetened but when mixed up its the perfect balance. Drinks: All the matcha drinks I've tried had a great intensity of matcha flavor that complemented well with its sidekick flavor. Such a cute and charming cafe! I had been following Re Bakesic on social media for a while after spotting their adorable, Asian-inspired desserts, so I was excited to learn they were going to have actual storefront. The first time we visited, which was on a Sunday around 2:00pm, they had run out of pastries. The second time, we came on Sunday at 11:00am, there was still plenty. So come hungry and early! The workers here are friendly and the orders come out quickly. Their specialty drinks are certainly some of the most unique and creative you'll find the SGV these days. The Gone Nuts features sesame and peanut cream layered on top of espresso and milk, making for a delicious Taiwanese dessert-inspired concoction. The flavors came through nicely here and was every bit as tasty as it was pretty. The Kinanko Matcha came with a homemade soybean cream layered on top. This wasn't my favorite, as the kinanko powder added a grittiness to the matcha drink and just didn't meld together as nicely as I would've expected. The matcha red bean mochi scone had a good balance between sweetness and an earthy, slight bitterness of the matcha. The chewy mochi was such a great idea but I would've liked a little more of it inside the scone. The ube Oreo cookie was a good size and the ube flavor actually comes through nicely, but the cookie itself was a little dry. A new-ish local Asian flavor cafe in the SGV. It has a variety of coffee, tea, and matcha along with various baked goods. Its a cute, quiet cafe and quite a few people were there on a Sunday doing work. You order at the counter, where you can also see the tantilizing baked goods. We tried one of everything available, except the matcha blueberry muffin. Along with the baked goods I also tried the gone nuts latte which is a latte with peanut and black sesame cream on top. I think the drink was good and tasted a bit like a candy bar, so slightly too sweet for me but not bad. I thought my friend's hojicha latte with black sesame cream on top tasted much better. The baked goods were really a let down. Flavors were extremely subtle, to the point of being bland. The various pastries were also quite dry so didn't even have that to go for it. I think the best was the black sesame scone which tasted like a baked version of ji ma woo. My friend did really enjoy the salted corn cookie though. I think the ideas and flavor combos of the baked goods were creative but the execution was poor. I'm hoping they're just finding their feet and will up their baking game! read more

Osmanthus Honey Latte (Fall Special)- coffee is strong, paired well with the floral. Solid latte to wake you up in the mornings. Next time I would ask for no flower topping, don't personally like chewing on whole pieces of pedals. Strawberry Cream Hojicha -just the perfect amount of roasted-ness. Strawberry wasn't strong but paired well. Kinako Matcha -perfect amount of roast on soybean cream. Paired well with the matcha, added nuttiness and creaminess. Earl Grey Matcha -never thought to pair these together but it works well. If you love early grey and matcha, give this a try. Earl grey is strong but matcha still shines through. Almond Croissant Cookie -almond filling wasn't too sweet and cookie on the outside was fluffy and light. Ube Pumpkin Mini Mochi Scone -scone texture was fluffier than dense in a good way. Ube is stronger than pumpkin, not sure if I even taste pumpkin. Overall would reorder. Black Sesame Kinako Mochi Scone -scone texture is also just as fluffy as the Ube Pumpkin one. black sesame is just right, not too strong but prominent. Mochi part is so good- soft and chewy goodness paired perfectly with the black sesame scone. Probably my favorite out of the things I tried. Oolong Pineapple Bun Cookie -similar texture to their scones but with a pineapple bun topping. There's a solid white filling that almost taste like a muted cheesecake, not too sure what it is but pairs well. Oolong flavor is great. I came here to check out this new coffee shop in Alhambra because I saw it on social media. First thing I noticed was that the decor was really cute and there was ample seating indoors. I like the location of this café because it's located next to a plaza that's also really bustling with lots of parking. This place is also located next to a Pilates studio so I would give it a 10 out of 10 for convenience. The store is really cute. I love the ambience and aesthetic of it. They sold out of a lot of their pastries by the time I got there in the afternoon, which I'm bummed about, but it goes to show that it must've been good. My boyfriend and I got two drinks and both tasted really good. It wasn't overly sweet, but was creamy and the flavor was decadent. I definitely want to come back to try their pastries next time. The nice thing about this café is that there wasn't a long line either so you can be in and out within 10 minutes if it's not busy. I love this location! The parking lot is super spacious and it's in a really convenient spot in the city. The service is always friendly and welcoming, and I love the abundance of seating when you walk in. The inside is really cute and has a cozy, cutesy vibe. I've tried the strawberry matcha latte with and without the strawberry cream top--both are great, but the one without the cream is my favorite. It has the perfect amount of sweetness for my taste. My boyfriend loves the Lychee Oolong Nojito. It's refreshing, minty, and just a solid drink overall. A trim merch shelf holds coffee beans and drinkware. Diminutive stools are pressed up to round individual tables, while full chairs surround the communal table further back. Contemporary instrumental is intermittently drowned out by the hum of the espresso machine. Stop by right at opening to find staff members filming content and carrying out trays of still-steamy treats. My fiancée and I have been beyond impressed by the pastry case. Broadly, the cookies have been to-die-for. They have the perfect balance of textures, with a chewy center and a crisp rim, and the flavor options are always exciting -- my favorite has been the Corn Cookie with corn kernels and corn flakes cereal. The Oreo Mochi Scone was also memorable. The decadent mochi center enhanced the intrinsic butteriness of the scone, while the Oreo chunks added a "not too sweet" dimension. Meanwhile, the Levain-sized Ube Biscoff Cookie was also next-level. I ordered an ice matcha along with a blueberry scone and sesame scone. Unfortunately, the iced matcha was underwhelming - fairly average at best. You might have better luck with their other drinks. The scones though, were extremely dry and crumbled apart the moment I tried to cut into them. I nearly choked on how dry they were. My go-to coffee shop in Alhambra! We came by on a Wednesday morning around 8:30am, and luckily only one other customer was there, though this place is usually very busy on the weekends. The cafe is very clean and modern, & the servers are always so kind and helpful in explaining the menu and what to get based on your preferences. This time I ordered the On Cloud Nine signature iced coffee with oat milk (a vanilla espresso latte with housemate cream/cocoa powdered to top), so smooth, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. If you're not sure where to start on the menu, this one's a safe bet! My boyfriend got his usual, the hot Earl Grey latte, which is his favorite and never disappoints. Strawberry Field & Gone Nuts are pretty sweet for me. Hubby tried their Brown Sugar Lover, which was good...but I think he enjoys just their regular Iced Latte more. My favorite of their Signature lattes was On Cloud Nine. I usually substitute with Almond Milk. I do wish they had 2%, and their drinks do add up since milk substitutions cost extra. Hubby also likes their Kinako Matcha. Their pastries & baked goods are quite good as well. I've tried a few and they are mostly all "not too sweet." I think their Ube Mochi Egg Tart, Ube Oreo Cookie, and Pineapple Bun Cookie were all pretty good. I think the Ube Mochi Egg Tart was a stand-out of its uniqueness though...so I'd recommend to try that if they have it. Was really excited to try this place out. I took my parents here because we love a good iced drink on a hot day. We ordered the earl grey matcha, mocha latte and guava refresher. After 3 sips of the drink, my dad was almost done with the refresher! And the amount of ice in there was unmatched. What got me the most is that all 3 drink were not filled to the top. They were 90% filled. If you're gonna put so much ice in our cups, the least you can do is fill up the cup. #159 in my Coffeeshop Chronicles. A bakery and coffeeshop combined - two of my favorite things! The pastry chefs come in the morning to bake up a storm and most items sell out by noon, depending on the day. The concept is pretty much the same as Modu, where it's a coffeeshop known more for their quality baked goods than the actual coffee. All of their pastries are Asian inspired and one-of-a-kind, and I'm pretty sure I've tried them all by now. Here are my thoughts: 1. The Grey & Grain cookie - black sesame and earl grey cookie with sea salt. Not bad. 2. Matcha Blueberry muffin - my favorite! I've never had this combination in a muffin before. 3. Oolong Mochi scone - made with osthmanthus honey, oolong tea, and mochi. This one was also pretty good. 4. Hojicha Pistachio scone - A roasted green tea scone with pistachio cream and shredded pistachio (think knafeh). This scone showcases both Japanese and Middle Eastern influences in one delicious pastry. 5. Ube s'more cookie - soft and chewy; not bad. Four pastries and a specialty latte came out to about $35, about the price you'd expect these days. The shop is spacious and a decent spot to bunker down and work, especially since you can enjoy unique pastries at the same time. They didn't fill my cup even with the cream on top pshhh I am not a fan of the Gone Nuts drink. It had bits of peanuts in it. My nephew went and got me this one. Both cookies tasted more like a scone. It was pretty dense and a bit dry instead of moist. It didn't taste bad..just not really a cookie. If warmed up with some spreads...I think it would be yummy lol like a real scone. Service was good. The gal that took my order was nice. This is a cute little bakery with good service, located across the Sprouts Farmers Market. There's tables, and people like to bring their laptops to work here. They have a small selection of unique baked goods and an extensive drinks menu. The baked goods are unique in flavors, so they are a little pricey. I ordered the Vietnamese Espresso Choco Chip Cookie, Ube Oreo Messy Cookie, and Blueberry Matcha Mochi Scone. They were ok and a little bland for me, especially the scone. The Ube Oreo Messy Cookie was better. I have tried three Signature drinks, Apple Matcha Tonic, Kinako Matcha, and Gone Nuts. The Apple Matcha Tonic tasted like soda, not my preference. ORDER strawberry hojicha (4/5) earl grey matcha (3.5/5) i really enjoyed the strawberry hojicha and thought the flavors complimented each other very well, but i wished the hojicha was stronger. the earl grey matcha was good as well, but both flavors were light. both drinks weren't too sweet, but they have sweetener on the side for you to adjust to your liking. SERVICE we came in close to closing, but they were still very friendly. AMBIANCE super aesthetic inside and can definitely be a nice study spot. free parking structure towards the back. read more

I have been contemplating to visit this new bakery and coffee shop at Alhambra since it is on IG. The coffee shop is simple, clean, and inviting. The service is very friendly. They have very simple menus. I order one of their Ube Oreo Messy Cookie. It's airy, fluffy, yet with very soft texture. A- The Gone Nuts is a 12 oz iced coffee with hints of peanut butter and sesame on top. It's smooth, the nuts ingredients adds slight flavor but it's more for the appearance. B+ Price is definitely on high end side. Coffee is 12 oz and cookie is not small but both are $6.75 & $6.25 respectively. read more

Re:Bakesic is a cute little addition to Alhambra. Located where Paul Mitchel's School of Beauty used to be. Aw the memories! Price range for coffee is $7-8 including the cost of my milk alternative of oat milk and pastries cost around $7 which is decent. I've only tried this egg and cheese bread which was decent 3.5 stars out of 5. Coffee is bold and strong and the coffee shop is extremely lively with friendly service. Love the toxin free OurPlace items and cute electric water kettle. Place has plenty of free parking in the back and a good place to get some work/school work in. Noise level is pretty loud but with some headphones you should be good. I did see some electric ports to charge your laptops so that's a plus. Overall love the new addition! read more

Re Bakesic is such a cute cafe with ample seating and a huge variety of drinks. I visited for the first time with a friend and we both got the kinako matcha. I got mine unsweetened, and I thought it was still quite sweet from the kinako, so I can't imagine how sweet it would be with added sweetener. I did really like the kinako flavor, but it was all I could taste. Though I still enjoyed the drink, the kinako completelh overpowered the matcha. However, they have a very unique selection of baked goods and I got the pineapple bun cookie which was amazing. I would definitely come back for their baked goods, and there are a lot of drinks on the menu that I would still love to come back and try! read more

Saw on Instagram that they have mango mochi only this weekend. Before we drove a little over an hour to get here, we tried messaging, calling (no phone number), kept checking their Instagram page. Nothing indicated they sold out of mango mochi already. And when we got there the mochi has been sold out for awhile. It would've been nice if they had just posted that on IG or had a phone number or replied to our message. read more
