Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The pork ribs were the star of the show. So tender, fall off the bone deliciousness. Pair it with the hot sauce that they have on the side and it was chefs kiss! The best ribs I've ever had. The brisket on the other hand was a little dry and I wish it had more flavor, but the sauce made up for it. We also got the Mac n cheese with brisket on top. They really did not skimp out on the brisket. It was very delicious and the Mac n cheese was perfectly creamy and decadent. They also pickles, pickled jalapeño, and onions on the side which really cut the fat from the meat. The coleslaw that we got was okay though. Overall, it was a great experience. All the employees were nice and patient with us since it was our first time here and we had some questions. The vibes were definitely there. Will def stop by here if we ever go to Texas again!!

    Came in here with high expectations but they were not met. Most of the sides were big flops besides…read morethe potato salad (the onion Cole slaw was lowkey atrocious; too much mayo), and the beef rib was tougher than I'd like (didn't really fall off the bone, might not have been smoked long enough?). The experience was redeemed by the cobbler which by itself would be worthy of a 5 star. But with everything else it drags up the overall rating to a 4.

The food speaks for itself, but the flour tortillas were fluffy, soft, delicious, they were good before, but much better now. Thanks for serving the community!

One thing I especially liked was the salsa, it actually had some real spice to it instead of tasting watered down like a lot of places do. It added a lot to the meal and was probably one of the highlights for me. The tortillas tasted fresh, as they are handmade. You can tell the kitchen knows what they're doing when it comes to the food itself. The only thing that took away from the experience was the customer service at the counter. The person taking payment wasn't very welcoming and came across a little cold or uninterested. A friendlier attitude would make the overall experience a lot better, especially since the food itself is worth coming back for. Overall, I'd still return because the breakfast tacos and spicy salsa were genuinely good. I just hope the customer service improves a bit next time.

Overall, Wunsche Bros Cafe & Saloon is a staple in Old Town Spring--offering good food, a historic setting, and a comfortable, down-to-earth dining experience. Cafe & Saloon was one of those places that completely exceeded expectations…read more I'm rarely out in Old Town Spring, but I was in the area picking up a piece of metal art for my patio and wanted to take my mom and brother somewhere unique that we don't have in Katy. A quick Google search brought this place up first with 4.9 stars, which is practically unheard of these days, so we decided to try it. Wow. What a meal. We started with the onion ring basket and a half order of beer bread. The onion rings were fantastic--huge, thick-cut rings with a wonderfully seasoned batter that actually had flavor instead of tasting flat or bland. Served piping hot, which matters to me because I like my food HOT. The ranch dressing was a great addition, too. The beer bread was decent. You could definitely taste the beer, but it wasn't the best loaf I've ever had. Mom, Mark, and I all ordered the grilled ribeye steak sandwich. I'm the only one who got it as designed on the menu. I originally expected more of a slab-of-steak sandwich, but it was actually closer to a Philly cheesesteak style sandwich, which honestly I prefer. Mom and Mark skipped the peppers, onions, garlic aioli, and pepper jack cheese in favor of lettuce, tomato, and mayo instead. Our waiter, Evan, was wonderful! He was friendly, attentive, accommodating, and clearly proud of the restaurant. He even offered to tell us the history of the building and restaurant, which added so much to the experience. The story is also printed on the back of the menu, and it's definitely worth reading. Evan mentioned he's only been there a few months, but he is absolutely an asset to the restaurant as a server. My brother Mark is blind and autistic, and it's honestly not often a server addresses him directly. They usually look to mom or me and ask, "What does he want?," but Evan asked Mark directly. Kudos to him. We had to finish the meal with the historical whiskey chocolate cake, and I'm glad we did. It's served warm with whipped cream on the side, caramel sauce drizzled across the plate, and pecans on top. Absolutely delicious and huge! There were four of us who shared it, and it was more than enough for each of us. Also worth mentioning: the sweet potato fries are an extra $4 but absolutely worth it. These are NOT frozen Ore-Ida fries dumped from a bag. They're clearly fresh cut and homemade, and they were delicious. For nearly two o'clock in the afternoon, the place was packed--at least three-quarters full--and the entire atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Everyone we encountered was friendly. I live in Katy, so Old Town Spring is definitely not nearby for me, but I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone in the area or just passing through. It's easy to see why people love it. A definite five-star experience for us!

I always had it saved on my favorites and kept it because I knew I would want to go to get the real experience of the location. I finally made the trek over to the actual location and they did NOT disappoint. They're not open everyday. I got here and the line was pretty long. The line was long, but they are literally making plates to order and really fast. Impressively fast. The brisket was a little over cooked, but the chopped brisket, ribs , sausage, potato , potato salad and green beans all were fire. Hence the review still getting 5 stars. The ribs were tender. Fell off the bone. Even at the moment I don't know why that potato was so big, but who am I to question such delicious foods. A note for me mainly and anyone else who enjoys sauce get the sauce on the food and some on the side. Or make sure you get extra on the side. In comparison to my meat portion I needed way more sauce. Maybe 2 cups instead of one. I didn't get sauce on my food. The customer service was good, the guys were helpful and made the food so fast. Definitely worth the trek over here. Thank you Triple J

    Now wa.....................................it a minute!!!…read more I had an unbelievable food experience. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon. I am shocked! Blown away in denial. Not my favorite BBQ for several years. Typical long line as usual. I stepped towards the restroom, but another patron said( O' you do not want to go in there). They only have one restroom...... for patrons. UHMmmmmm, that was my first and last attempt to use their restroom. It is always too packed for one restroom. The all men workers do not care and or do not take time to clean the restroom. Now I ordered- a Rib sandwich and two mild Boudin links, paid and drove home. Let me tell you, the rib sandwich had one slice of bread. \^^/ The ribs were very short and small as hell. Not even enough to make a sandwich. The ribs and way too much black pepper, I could not eat it. Then my two boudin links stuffing, were entirely mush. It was inedible too. They have always been consistent with the food. I waisted time and money for inedible foods. Triple J's WOW, such a letdown. I was in denial two days. I am not sure if I will return. }:{
