I Would Give Zero Stars If I Could -- Beware This property manager handled my property for over four years, and I regret not paying closer attention. While I was caring for my sick family member, she'd smooth things over whenever something went wrong -- which was almost every month -- by reversing her management fee or covering a handyman bill. I mistook that for good service, but it was really a way to keep me from noticing the deeper issues. She was often over 30 days late with rent payments and once missed three full months entirely, always with a new excuse -- wrong routing number, vacation, etc. After hiring a new professional property manager, I learned she never met the tenant, or did a walk through, ignored maintenance and safety updates, and was completely hands-off. She left the lockbox on the door with the new tenant there. My tenant said she'd been trying to reach her for weeks without a response. She manages over 250 properties, and I know I'm not the only unlucky one who didn't receive the standards of a true professional. She'll likely respond to this review with another excuse or a lack of accountability, pointing to her many "happy clients." We hired RMG to manage our property in San Diego and all I can say is you get what you pay for. Things started off OK but as time went on, it became extremely difficult and frustrating to work with them. They were very hard to get in touch with, never picked up the phone, always had an excuse for everything. We wouldn't even see rent for our home until the end of the month it was for. Had to request tax documents multiple times, had to ask where rent was every single month, had to light a fire and be not so pleasant to get literally anything done. Super disappointed with the customer service of this company! I applied for an apartment, and never heard back. The day of the showing Donna was super responsive, but they do not care to reply to you if you don't qualify. Or maybe I did qualify and they just never got back to me? It's been over 10 days and I just find it super unprofessional to not let an applicant know if they have been approved or not, especially after taking time out of their day to go and view a unit, and then submit an application that takes 30 min - 1 hour to complete. Also, their automated phone line provides an email that you can use to "check the status of your application" but it's an invalid email, and emails sent to that address bounce back every time. Being a relatively new renter to San Diego, this type of conduct is super discouraging. I would discourage others applying for properties managed by this company and recommend them to look elsewhere. read more

Beyond unprofessional. See pic below of her reply. 1. Donna's lie about cancelling our agreement because I got annoyed during Covid. Donna was in fact hired pre-Covid in 2017 and did ZERO inspections at my property for the entire time she was engaged as property manager. I requested inspections and she told me they had been done - they had not. 2. Correct Donna, inspections are meant to be done for the owner. I WAS THE OWNER and requested an inspection MULTIPLE times for MY property - clearly she has again not done her due diligence. SMH at this one... 3. People considering working with this 'business' should be comfortable with all the '5 star reviews'. They read like paid advertisements to me, the negative ones seem much more plausible and similar to my experience. 4. I believe I received a full refund because you knew you'd screwed up and been caught out, you'd lose in small claims court AND possibly have your license revoked. Again, my original review stands. 5. Her husband, Scott, threatened me - in writing ?!?!? - with legal action if the previous review wasn't deleted. I refused and confirmed it was all accurate, I also told him I would be happy to follow through with legal action. I hired RMG in 2023 to manage my condo in Fashion Valley. Initially, they did a good job. I will say they are good at finding quality tenants, but that's about it. This last year has been a different story. They have not followed through on performing maintenance at my unit, even when I informed them that I would pay for it. In addition, getting my distributions from rents they have collected is very slow and always late. I have to contact them almost every month to ask where my money is. I should not have to do that. They answered initially and then when I followed up several times with questions and then lastly to actually start the rental process they stopped responding. Unfortunately now I can't use their services or recommend them. I think communication is such an important aspect of good business. Update to review left in 2018. I just saw posting from realty management I am not a competitor and did deal with Donna on the phone when I told her to pick up lock boxes. She was supposed to be renting my brothers 3 apartment in Pacific beach. I had been involved in the dealings with the renters including the renter in the front of the apartments. I helped clean up the place with David, my brother whom she had signed the contract with. She had supposedly had someone remove trash left in sheds but hadn't, i could go one with things that were supposed to be done but weren't. Highlights: $7,475 in lost rents from showing a dirty damaged unit from the prior tenants along with poor pricing/marketing [upside down photos, etc.], 16 un-replied emails/voicemails, failure to do proper move out documentation from prior tenants resulting in $500 of repairs, 113 days outstanding for critical items to enable new tenant move in that went un- addressed, and overall gross negligence in managing my property over the 159 days in which they failed to put a tenant in the property. I signed up to have them take over management of my property and it was probably one of the worst experiences of my life. Shame on me for not recognizing this sooner and severing the relationship much earlier. For starters- I had self managed this property for 6+ years and have never had it vacant for more than 2 weeks. RMG took over and left it vacant for 159 days! Simple things like new pictures, cleaning the unit to ensure proper showings, and communication to the property owner on status never occurred. After months of paying two mortgages and not being responded to- I finally severed the relationship. I hired a new property management group who inspected the unit and told me it was filthy and there were holes in the bathroom door, marks on the walls, etc. I had asked for the move out checklist from Donna and never received it. She just said they deducted $200 from the prior tenant and she would cut me a check. I couldn't believe it. They were showing the unit in this condition and failed to protect the owner from the damage of the prior tenants. Unbelievable. Needless to say, the new management company cleaned it, made the repairs, listed it properly with photos, and had a tenant in there in 2 weeks. They also responded to my emails, calls, etc. Complete 180 from RMG. At any rate- I am glad I can finally end this nightmare after hours of going through emails, phone records, etc. to document this [was terrible to have to re-live]. my landlord chose RMG & it was a terrible experience. our first experience with Donna, who i believe to be the owner, was in June 2019. i contacted her about a bee hive removal in late May, but the hive wasn't removed until mid june. in november 2019, i put in a maintenance request for a number of issues, the most major one being that our drier was not working, & it took her a few days to get a repair man out here, & then when the repair man contacted her to move forward, she didn't reply back to him. i ended up being without a drier for about 2 weeks. & this was just that ONE issue. there were several other maintenance requests in the original email that were ignored. also, the website where maintenance requests are handled said that they would respond within 48 hours. the text messages i screen shot & posted are also after me calling 2 or 3 times & leaving messages saying "we used to talk to donna, she must not work for the company anymore" but it turns out she was the owner. luckily my landlord ended up dropping RMG because of their nonresponsiveness. read more
