As I pulled up to the window today, Jen was just pulling my burger off the grill. A good sign as clearly, we were already in sync. She had quick witty banter and a welcoming charm to her. I think if my partner and I ever do decide to move to the area, she and I would be FF's. (fast friends not to be confused with french fries).... Jen offered me two fry sauces, it's like she already knew me! This burger was DELICIOUS!!! It was cooked to perfection! I don't Yelp ya'll. In fact this trip was a plan to chill because my partner and I lead busy professional lives. But DAYUM. This was too good to not give a nod of credit to. Why yes, I consider myself a bit of a foodie. Just went through the drive thru and got an Oregon berry salad with a black bean patty and Mac and cheese. The ordering was easy and you park around the side and wait for the buzzer to go off to go pickup the food. The food was AMAZING. The salad was huge and fresh. A great combo of salad mix and feta, waffle croutons, and patty. The dressing was perfect. It was BIG and shareable - but I ate it all. Luckily my kid got full fast because the macaroni and cheese was to die for. I don't want to say I'm a macaroni connoisseur but I pride myself of knowing some good Mac. Found this place while driving down the coast and really glad I stopped. I was starving so a burger sounded really good. I ordered the portobello patty and I realized why the girl had tried to tell me the quinoa patty would be better. Nothing wrong with the portobello and it didn't go with the toppings. That's my error for ordering it. The Mac and cheese was delicious though and everything was fresh! I'll try something else next time and I'm sure I'll like it more. The lady at the front counter was great, very friendly and patient with my indecisiveness. We waited about 10 minutes for food. The food is just fantastic here! I felt that the food was fresh and you get what you pay for. I stopped in here with my son before hiking and visiting the Tillamook State forest visitors center. I have been here twice, once about a year ago and one last week and this place is so good. I got a burger the first time I went and it was pretty good I don't remember enough about to review it too much but it was good. The other day I got the sneak attack Cobb wrap with chicken and I loved it. The wrap was a good size and very filling, it came with a large serving of fries and a salad so a great deal for just $12. I called ahead but there was a very long line so I would for use recommend doing that. I think this place is the second best thing in tillamook. read more

My boyfriend and I ordered the kick the can cobb salad with their vinaigrette and marco polo (with a side of fries) Both were delicious!! The cobb salad was the definition of a true salad. It was packed with chicken, avocados, tomatoes, feta cheese, and lots of veggies! My boyfriend's burger (marco polo) was also yummy. The meat tasted smokey and was juicy. I was initially turned off by the prices, but, when I realized the burgers all come with fries, tots, or mac and cheese as well as a small salad, I reevaluated. Location is convenient when heading in or out of town, and the seating area behind the cart itself features picnic tables, badminton, cornhole, and chalk for kids and young-at-heart adults. Staff was friendly, communicative, and kind, and the atmosphere was chill. One minor criticism I can offer is that the meal as a whole was fairly salty, but I eat almost no salt in my regular diet and don't use salt in dishes I prepare myself, so your results may vary. Will definitely be eating here again next time I'm in Tillamook. TLDR: Delicious food, gluten-free options, filling, good portions, nice staff, cute space. read more

Jen and Brooke just catered our wedding and completely crushed it on so many levels. Not sure where to start! It was an entire weekend, they pulled off three amazing meals (breakfasts and dinner) over three days for over 100 guests. Every bite was on point and pulled off without a hitch. Tons of comments from our family and friends about how great the food was. Personally, I'm going to have to drive to the coast from Portland as often as possible to get my hands on that amazing pork. With all of that said, as good as the food was, I would add on a personal note that having these two amazing people at our wedding (working their a**es off for three days) was a pleasure. After today, Recess is the ONLY place I'll be getting my burger fix. From start to finish, top to bottom, recess is hands down the best burger joint on the coast. Recess offers friendly service and picture perfect meals at a great price. Located conveniently as you enter Tillamook, they also provide a nice clean picnic area behind their trailer to sit away from the road, and a restroom for customers.
