If you're wondering where to get your USCIS Physical, give this place a call. Hands down one of the best experiences at a clinic I've ever had. I normally dread going to the doctors because you have to wait in the lobby, wait in the room, and wait in the lobby AGAIN after the appointment to checkout, but not here. The process and flow at this clinic shows that they know how to work with immigration medical exams. I was in and out of the clinic in about 35 minutes. Keep in mind that you do have to go back for a second appointment to pick up your sealed forms after your lab results come back, but this appointment was only about 10 minutes long. They also gave me a copy of everything we did for my USCIS Physical. I never write negative reviews, but my experience deserves one. I made an appointment online for a USCIS medical exam and never got a confirmation via phone as indicated. I followed up and turns out that I didn't even have an appointment. That's fine, mistakes happen. I made an appointment on the phone. And that was quite insufferable because I had to repeat my name/number to the person on the other end multiple times. My first visit went OK and they asked me to specifically fill out the first page of the form to ensure no typos. I needed a receipt after paying. Waited for the email receipt and it never arrived. Asked about it and it turns out they had a typo in my email. We fixed that and I got my receipt. For my second visit, it was advertised as a quick pickup of the form and signing it. Because it was advertised this way, I kept my other doctor's urgent appointment. Once I got there, it turns out they still needed time to print out the forms. If you know the client is coming one week in advance, why not print the forms ahead of time? Otherwise tell the client it won't be a quick pickup and that they'll wait a while. In my case, I reviewed the form and there was a typo, unsurprising given the previous history. But frankly surprising given that I filled out that same form in block letters and I even took the extra mile during my first appointment to PRINT a filled out page that they can use as a reference. All in all, it took 45 minutes to print the forms, fix the mistake, and give me the copy. Recharge Medical lacks operational efficiency and their staff lacks detail orientation--it's excruciating to witness and experience. My two cents is if you want a cheap medical exam (compared to other civil surgeons) and you're willing to sit through typos and operational inefficiencies, go for it. For me, my time is valuable and this is an important form that needs to be perfect with no mistakes. And if I'm already paying $400 for an exam, I'll gladly pay $100 more if it means my time is valued, things are done correctly, and the staff has a keen eye and knack for detail orientation... read more

I scheduled my consultation for Friday around noon. I was recommended this place and the reviews left me enthusiastic. I'm getting married in March and was interested in perhaps a microdermabrasion facial for some light acne chin scars and minimal hyperpigmentation as I told them when scheduling the consultation. I was just about to get onto muni when they called me 30 minutes before my consultation. The lady asked if I could come in any earlier, and I said no and that I was just about to get onto muni. I said muni would take about 20 minutes. She said that was okay so we hung up. Then on muni they tried to call me again but I was on muni like I told her so reception sucked. I get to 731 market street... and ring their bell/knock on the door. Place doesn't look how I was expecting... then I got an email saying they cancelled my appointment. I called but the line was busy. So I get back on muni, and my phone starts ringing. I tried to pick up but of course there's poor reception. Then I go to yelp to write a review- and see the address is not 731 market. 731 market is the address to the email service they use to schedule appointments. Further annoyed because of the severely poor communication. Then I try calling them back because perhaps there was an understandable reason for the cancelled appointment. Things happen and I can sympathize with life. But when I asked why the appointment was cancelled, she says that there wasn't going to be time for my laser treatment. I told her I wasn't going for a laser treatment- I was going for a consultation and MAYBE a microderm facial. Then she said the dr had another appt in Walnut Creek and that's why he left early. ... Then why did you schedule me so close to that appt!?! Arg. So many things should have happened that didn't. #1- clarify the address because with the emails the address is not straightforward for new customers and the location was never clarified to me. #2- don't schedule close together appointments. Especially in separate cities! #3- take into account the customer's situation- muni= no reception and 20 minutes notice is unreasonable. #4- at least offer a discount or something to make up for lost time and fees getting to...the wrong location. Versus offering to reschedule. No thanks! #5- cancel the appointment when you talk to the customer if time constraints are stressful. Wish she had just done that instead of me riding the 20 mins there, walking through dt, etc etc. blah. As I said, I received a recommendation from a person who has nothing but great things to say about the dr and this place. Guess I'll be part of the 10% that simply isn't satisfied. I'll take it as a sign that my skin is simply too pretty. Unless I hear a recommendation to another place... --- Update** Danny contacted me and was very nice and apologetic. I still don't think I'll return, but solely based on a change of heart and not wanting the services anymore. Dr. Philippe Nguyen is by far the best of the best. He is my primary care physician. I have never met a more outstanding physician who goes out of his way to make sure I get the best medical care. Blue Shield of California and Brown and Toland are lucky to have him. Dr. Nguyen does my botox. At age 47, I get so many compliments on my youthful appearance. I have also referred my friends there that love the CoolSculpting. Recently, I found out that I have osteoarthritis. My right hip is in the condition of a 64 year old pro football player. When I heard the news from Dr. Nguyen, he referred me to the best Sports Medicine/Orthopedic Surgeons in the San Francisco. I was very touched because Dr. Nguyen makes sure that I will be okay. I woke up one day deciding I wanted a few small moles removed from my face and within 6 hours of my call for an appointment Dr. Ngyen removed three at very reasonable cost. There was little to no pain whatsoever thanks to topical face injections to numb the area and those didn't really hurt either. I chose the burn off method of removal and after only ten minutes it was over and I was ready to go. This was a radical idea to me to get same day service since in the past my dermatologist had a long waiting list of two months for the same procedure. I am currently in a process for my USCIS green card for my adjustment status. My husband & I have been searching around the bay for the best US Civil Surgeon that can conduct the exam for me. I found Dr. Nguyen and Recharge Medical through a friend of mine who also just did the exam with Dr. Nguyen and was very happy with her process and experience with Dr. Nguyen and staff. Front desk was very helpful and professional with all my questions regarding the process. She was very thourough and explained the process and fees. During my examination, Dr. Nguyen did my examination and let me know what other tests and vaccines I am missing for the process. I decided to do all the requirements in the office (even tho I have Kaiser) and paid out of pocket for the tests and vaccines. They have a bundle that they offer for $378 for the exam and lab tests and any additional cost for the vaccines- which i did price shop and found out that they are the cheapest in town! (EXTRA SAVINGS!!!) . The office told me that my paperwork will be ready in about a week- but all my results came earlier and staff Lexi called me right away for paperwork signing. So me and the Mr popped in on our recent (very romantic) weekend getaway to San Francisco. We had the couples hand and foot treatment which was fantastically amazing! So relaxing, comfortable and one of the best mani and pedi's we've had to date! As we were getting done I started asking about guys getting Brazilian wax treatments. Daniel went on to tell me that its really popular with guys these days. After he gave me a brief run down I decided to go for it. The term "boyzilian" was used though I coined a more suiting term, "bearzilian"! Daniel took me back to private room where I took my pants and shorts off and hoped up on the table, ass up! Daniel came in and things got under way. He did mention (I will always remember this) "the more you arch your back, the less it hurts!".. if that isn't the truth, hehe.. Anyway, he uses a numbing lotion before applying the wax which I cant even imagine not using. However being new too this treatment I had no idea how painful it was going to be. Well since I am a bear lets just say I'm extremely hairy in all places mentionable and unmentionable! My trust was in Daniel completely and he did not let me down.. this service was excellent.. he waxed my entire crack, 'tween and my scrot.. afterward the feeling was just amazing, super silky smooth and slick. The pain, not to bad.. a little uncomfortable at first but didn't take to long. I would so do this again in a heartbeat! In Phoenix I would always go to Scottsdale Airport Autocare for my car. In San Diego you couldn't keep me away from brunch at Hash House a Gogo. In LA I spent 99% of my disposable income at The Gendarmerie Spa with no regrets. Now, in San Francisco, I found my day spa, and my guy (Danny). The waxing service was a tie for first place with my other guy in the Financial District, the mani/pedi was by far the best I've had in NorCal, and the facial is by far the best I've had in NorCal. For all of you who've have missed Danny Le since he left Recharge in June, I'm happy to say he will be returning to Recharge this Thursday, 10/21/10!!! *happy dance* It was rumored that Danny would return, but I never knew the exact date. However, I came to Recharge for my usual pedi yesterday and the staff confirmed that he will be back this Thursday. Being a loyal customer since they opened in the summer of 2007, I still think they have "THE" BEST PEDI IN SF! They're the only place I know that takes it a step further with their rough skin treatment (included at no extra charge) to soften your heels and the balls of your feet. The staff (i.e. Ling) always takes their time to ensure your feet walk out of Recharge picture perfect. You can read my previous reviews for more details, but I NEVER left Recharge dissatisfied. They're also one of the very few spas whose top priority is the health and safety of their customers which is evident by their immaculately clean facility and use of sterilized instruments only. I've seen Dr. Nguyen several times and each time I have had a great experience with him, his results, and his team. The clinic scheduling and communication were excellent. He has been very honest, and explains things very well. Making an appointment during COVID has also been fairly easy and clinic safety appeared to be up to latest guidelines and standards. Timeliness has been excellent. I do recommend Dr. Nguyen and his clinic. I got a Lifebooker deal for Recharge Spa's essential mani and cream foot pedi. I forget how much I paid for it, but I'm sure it was much less than the $75 ticket price. I must say my mani-pedi experience at Recharge Spa was the most eccentric one yet. First, the spa is located on California Street, on a block with several other salons. The door opens into a reception area that is dim and isn't very spa or salon like at all. No one greeted me at first so I was very confused. It seems like the space is also used as a doctor's office since there were people filling out forms and such. I didn't see any magazines to bide my time until they were ready for me. Before they started my mani-pedi, they had me read over a consent form and sign it. I've never had to do this at a nail salon before. I don't know exactly how I feel about it because on one hand, it does list their "sanitary" practices, but on the other, it's kind of unnecesssary, since you can't verify their sanitary practices anyway. The "salon" area is basically behind a curtain from the reception area. There are 3-4 black leather recline chairs. The space was very narrow and dim, much like the reception area. There's a closet in the corner where they keep their towel warmers and packaged tools. Overall, my impression of the interior of the salon is dingy. But despite the initial impression, the mani-pedi itself was very good, probably one of the best I've had. The cream foot pedi is a must-get. My lady was so thorough with everything, from cleaning, to filing, to buffing, to the massage. The cream part is basically a paraffin dip, followed by a very extensive foot massage. The scrub was also very extensive. I feel like she sloughed off 5 years worth of dead skin! My feet feel so smooth and soft! The essential mani is just a regular mani. It was interesting that my lady decided to do the lotion & massage after she put the polish on. It was a little awkward having the mani done while doing the pedi, because my legs would move and that made my hands move. Overall, the service at Recharge Spa is incredible. They really take the time to take care of all the little details. I didn't feel rushed at all. They're by appointment so they definitely leave enough time between you and the next person. You don't have to worry about whether they'll do a good job. I'd definitely come back here for the pedicure because I don't think I can get that level of service just anywhere. read more

I cannot offer a more glowing recommendation for this clinic, Dr. Nguyen, and all the staff for the help they have provided me. I was on my way to San Francisco from New Mexico when I heard from my lawyer that immigration needed to do my medical exam. The first time I called from the road--I forgot to get the gentleman's name--everything about the process, including vaccinations and possible exemptions, was explained to me in great detail over the phone and with much patience. The next time, when I arrived in San Francisco, I talked to Bernard at the front desk--a special shout-out to him for his friendliness and superb competence!--who again went over all the requirements very professionally and carefully, so that all my questions were answered and I knew exactly what to expect during the exam and what follow-ups would be required to finish the process. The exam itself, just last Thursday, was an extremely pleasant experience with Dr. Nguyen, who is very considerate and kind (it would be nice to have someone like him as my primary physician for day-to-day issues). He offered an easy solution to the missing chickenpox vaccine (an inexpensive antibody test) and I had a clear path to getting the remaining vaccines over the next few days, which I did. The follow-up exam, when the doctor knows the results of the blood test, was scheduled for the next Thursday, but I had every hope that the results would come in sooner, and in fact they did, as early as Monday of this week, meaning just a couple of working days after the first visit. I had happened to drop by the clinic to give them my polio record, and Bernard told me that the blood results were already in and it was all clear, so if I could wait just a few moments he could finish the I-693. Before he did that, he let me go over everything carefully to make sure there were no mistakes. Within half an hour I had the sealed envelope, and fourteen pages of the detailed medical report, which was done extremely thoroughly and professionally, along with the lab results. I think one of the things that most impressed me was how neatly and thoroughly the medical report was completed! In the preceding days they were already updating and filling out the necessary information so that when the lab results came in the final report was ready to go. I was able to express mail the civil surgeon's sealed envelope to my lawyer in Texas the same evening, and we are on our way. I'm so glad I picked Recharge Medical to do this final step of the immigration process for me, because I didn't know where to go to in San Francisco before I arrived here. I couldn't have made a better choice, and there couldn't have been a more exemplary service provided. I came here to give my best friend a surprise birthday spa date, signed her up for a facial. I forgot that I signed us both up for a facial and had already done my makeup for the day so they opted to give me a hand massage or foot leg massage. Instead, I asked to switch it for a manicure instead while my best friend got an express facial. I personally enjoyed my manicure with Danny, which included a hand massage and a shoulder massage. He gave me advice on nail care and how to keep my nails healthy. My best friend said her facial was good, but felt rushed and wasn't sure if it was because we were a few minutes late or because the facial specialist really wanted to go home. Luckily at my first visit, Dr. Nguyen gave me a free consultation. This initial session ran for about 15 minutes. He was very friendly and answered all my questions in detail. I felt he was quite knowledgeable on various skin treatment and options that would work for me. So, I decided to go with microneedling and PRF which ran for 4 visits. At each visit, he asked me how I felt about the procedure that he was performing. I felt he was making sure I was comfortable and happy with it. His clinic is clean with friendly staff - especially Calvin. Making an appointment was easy. I've just completed the microneedling and PRF procedures, and I'm happy with the results. Had a ManiPedi here today, using a Lifebooker Loot. Ling was very nice, and obviously very experienced. The staff serve very good tea while you are getting your manipedi done. Overall great service. Their color selection is large, but was missing a few essentials (I was looking for a pearl white, with light sparkles). It would have been great if I was given a drying station though. I thought my mani was already dry but I kept running into things, and Ling was willing to keep fixing it up for me. I felt pretty bad (like an annoying customer :P) but she was nice about it.
