HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I placed an order through red bowl on door dash last week. They did not have an option to add their boba tea on the menu so I called to see if I could add it. They could not modify the order so I placed a separate order on my card, which was completely fine! I received the boba tea with my delivery and it went great. I placed another order today and called red bowl to do the same process and add the boba tea again. The first time I called no one picked up. The second time I called someone answered the phone without saying hello or anything. I sat there and repeated hello for 3 minutes and could hear all the back ground noise. When they finally answered I explained the situation again and they said "no we can't do that." So I continued to explain that I just did it last week and they replied with "well I'll have to get a manager." I'm not sure if they expected me to say no that's okay and forget about it because when I said okay thank you I could hear her say "OH MY GOD" in an irritated tone in the back ground. When she came back to the phone she said "he said no he doesn't know how to do it." So I explained the process one more time and said I just did it last week and the person went to speak with the manager again and I heard the manager in the back ground say "Just tell them we ran out of boba tea." That's ridiculous and rude. I'll never give this my money again. Even after I patiently explained how I did it the first time and how it was no problem then they continued to be blatantly rude and even lie!! After several years today was a let down. Tempura veggies were way over done, extremely 'crispy' and was not their usual batter. Gen. Tso shrimp was so spicy we could not finish. This place is great! My boyfriend and I get their takeout quite often and we always try one new item on the menu and so far we've liked everything. This is one of our favorite places in Ormond. I love their hot and sour soup and my boyfriend loves their fried rice. The lo mein and bourbon chicken are really good too. We've dined in and had their fantastic sushi while sitting at their bar. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service is impeccable. I'm really impressed with how well they have done with this place. Great food, great staff and beautiful atmosphere. This Asian restaraunt has everything on the menu from Chinese to Vietnamese and Japanese. The food quality is not much higher than a Chinese takeout joint, but is priced higher. The decor is cool and modern looking, clean restaurant. Will probably be back just for the variety. read more

Red bowl opened an new restaurant in Deltona on Saxon Blvd. Our office has eaten from this restaurant a couple of times and the food was delicious. Today (4/23/18) our office ordered from this restaurant and there were maggots in the broccoli. We will no longer order from this place. read more

The food is decent. I appreciate that they deliver. They are the only Chinese food in the area that delivers. When you order on the website there is no option for drinks. They call you to confirm your order. When they call you can order drinks. Every time I have ordered a drink they forget it. They either leave it in the car or forget it completely. They have never offered to come back out. I have had to go pick it up. Or have them take it off my card. Something really simple and really frustrating. read more

This is the first time I have ever rated a service on yelp. But I had to this time. We made 2 simple orders and was told that they would have it delivered in 40-50min. After 1 hour of waiting I decided to call and the lady said that the driver has already left. (We live 10 minutes away) After another 20 minutes I called and asked what was taking so long... with an attitude the girl that picked up the phone said that the driver is out on 15 runs. So I had to ask her why any "One" person would be out on 15 runs??? She replied that they only had one driver. I am a very patient man however this was only the beginning. My girlfriend called and said that we have kids here that are hungry (niece and nephews). She told my girlfriend "DON'T YOU HAVE FOOD AT YOUR HOUSE" Who would say that.... Never an apology or what they could do to make it right. The manager was just as bad after giving the phone to her employee and saying she can't deal with this. If I went through every step that happened anyone's jaw would drop. (Fast forward) Over 2 hours the food arrives cold and as a business owner you typically would just give the meal away "not here". After the treatment we received from the staff and management we have decided to never return to this restaurant again. read more

We've used their takeout service frequently and were very happy with that also. About 30 years ago I had fantastic Hot and Sour soup in San Francisco's China Town. I came here for lunch and ordered 2 different rolls and a ginger salad for only $7.99. The rolls were fresh and tasted wonderful. I asked for them to be cut smaller and they did so. So my husband, friend and I decided we wanted to try something new. Our friend lives on this side of town and we live in Orlando. As we all have work at a restaurant in our life and my husband is the GM of a restaurant and as I'm a AGM for another, as of now. We walked into this place hungry and ready to eat( it's also my birthday ), the lady at the counter asked if we would be taking out and we asked if we could eat in ( remind you they were supposed to be open till 1030 (we walked in at 10:01) and had 7 other tables, yes I counted ) and she looked at us like it was the wrong thing to ask. I would go somewhere else if it was 10mins to closing cuz we understand but 30mins, really!? When my husband asked, will it take 20mins to make food and she looked at us and made this look on her face " well kinda ". But yet she asked if we wanted to take out?! This might be one of those hit or miss restaurants. Happily for me, I found a couple of hits. We had Beef Chow Fun and it was good good. You can't get real chow fun noodles anywhere else in the Daytona area it seems. It you love fresh noodles, this is great (as always adding hot sauce and more soy). We also had Red Curry Shrimp which was also very good (if a tiny bit sweet). I can't do this at home for some reason, so it's nice to find another spot now that Thai by Thai in Flagler has closed. We have been coming here ever since they opened and tonight the Tempura was like an oil slick. Not sure if it is a change of chefs or management, but every time we come here there are less people and the food keeps getting worse. Have went there twice and both times no good. First time my wife ordered the three flavored fish and had he lo mein. My dish arrived and the noodles were just swimming in sauce and soggy. After about 15 more min. the waitress came back to tell us they were out of three flavored fish and my wife would have to order another dish and she ordered the spicy shrimp they had on special. Yuk both just like a take out place. We tried it one last time and same thing happened my dish came and then waitress was no where to be found, then after another 20 min she informed us my wifes dish not available, by that time we had enough. Took a total of 45min from the time we walked in to the time she was informed of not having that dish. The father and his son at the next table just left before she even got to there table by just seeing our experience. Oh I forgot the manager seated us at a dirty table also the second time did not even wipe it down. Oh and one more thing when my egg drop soup came it smelled of bleach. Went for dinner tonight, hostess advised we would have 10 15 minute wait. 2 Minutes later a group of young gentlemen come in she advises the same. They walked out and she went after them and proceeded to seat them before us. The General Tso Chicken was not prepared correctly ( not spicy and with no veggies or peanuts) and when I asked to exchange it they wouldn't telling me it was not their fault. Red Bowl was pretty good until the last experience. I love Thai food and this is the only place that has the dish that I like except Port Orange. My mom and I were hungry one night and we decided to stop at Red Bowl because we knew how good their food was. We had one of the menus at our house already and we had ordered from that menu once before and we called it in and they delivered it to us. They have the same menus at there restaurant. I had ordered the same exact thing that I got last time. When I got home I checked my dish and it looks nothing like what I had gotten before I was very hungry and very upset because I was looking forward to eating my Thai food. We went back in and explained to them what had happened we got the manager and they asked us what we had ordered and I pointed on the menu to them when I had ordered. The one older lady that works in there said that I did not order the right thing. They then started to argue with me saying that there were two different things on the menu. When I had ordered the exact same thing from the same menu at my house. I was very upset and very confused. When I was ordering the first time standing right there with the menu in my hand explain to them exactly what I wanted they could have told me that I was ordering the wrong dish. Instead they wanted to argue with us and told us that we were wrong. My mom at that point was not very happy with them we had to then sit and wait for another dish to be made. The older lady and the younger girl who we're standing in the front talking about us and what we had ordered and I did not appreciate that. Another thing that was downright wrong is when we first placed our order over the phone we asked them not to repeat our credit card number back to us so the people around couldn't hear them. And what did they do they repeated our credit card number back to us. And if you have ever been in this restaurant, you would know that it is in open environment in anyone standing there at the front counter or behind them could have taken down anyone's credit card information number! They obviously don't respect anyone's privacy. That night after we went in my mom had asked to speak to the manager outside and she was not very happy with the way that things were handled she said that she was going to complain about the company and she did not like the way that the employees were talking about customers behind their back. We just moved to the area and this was where we decided to eat for our first time out. It was 8:30 on a Saturday night and the restaurant was not crowded. We were seated and served promptly. My wife is not a big fan of Asian food, but she loved the Pepper Steak. I had the Orange Chicken, and it was the best I've ever had. It had just the right amount of spiciness and orange flavor. We also had California Rolls and Shrimp Dumplings (both very good). Our server, Ting, was very attentive and polite. The prices are very reasonable ($10 for entree and rice) with portions large enough for two meals for each of us. I plan to try one of their teriyaki entrees next time! read more

My husband and I had lunch there yesterday and we were both very disappointed. The restaurant is attractive inside (pretty bar, comfortable booths) but the food was not good at all. The hot & sour soup and Chinese lunch dishes we ordered (cashew chicken & garlic chicken, both with fried rice) tasted so bad that we decided not to finish them for fear of becoming ill later. Both dishes tasted more of grease than anything else and the fried rice did not resemble any fried rice we've ever had. It was more like a box of prepared rice with a few small chunks of carrots and peas in it, and rather tasteless. If you decided to go to this restaurant, I recommend you stay away from these dishes and instead try the dishes recommended by the folks who favorably reviewed this restaurant. A lady came back after leaving the restaurant for 5 minutes with our order to pick up the correct food she had ordered. They simply wanted us to take this order without knowing what might have happened once it left the building. Unprofessional and I would guess it may be against the law.
