Although the service was great, I didn't like the food. The food on the pricey side and there's nothing that I seen would've justify the prices they charge. A medium pizza (Red Boy Special) will cost you $21.00. It was a bit salty and soggy (especially in the middle). Toppings were plentiful though. Their lasagna was probably their best dish, but the sauce is not something worth remembering. You get a big plate and plenty of sauce with a side order of garlic bread. For appetizers, we opted for their buffalo wings, but again it wasn't anything spectacular. For $10, you get 10 wings (the same size as those you find at KFC) and it was just wings topped with Sarracha type hot sauce. Their Philly Cheese steak comes on a huge plate and plentiful. Solid pizza joint. Had the Luciano and the California. Ordered for lunch around 12pm and was told 20 min and it would be ready. Came in and the order was ready and piping hot. This location is hidden behind a Safeway in a plaza on redwood road. Be careful as the plaza is under construction so if it's your first time... the restaurant is behind the Safeway. They do thin crust pizza and with the crisp hot edges... my favorite kind of thin crust. The pizza had quality ingredients and tasted fresh. $35 plus tip for two small pizzas....not too shabby but definitely not everyday eats. We ordered the pizza and did a mini hike/picnic at the Chaney Science Center. The pizza was still hot during the drive up. So definitely an option if you are looking for food in the area! read more

This is our "neighborhood" pizza place and it's ok in a pinch if we don't feel like driving further afield. The pizzas are quite reliable and the sourdough crust is better than a plain floury crust, but when there's far better to be had with just a bit more effort, you'll understand why we don't get takeout from here too often. As for the location, there is quite a bit of seating for dining in (once COVID goes away!) and it's very spare and simple. My one in-house frustration is the counter employees. They have hired a string of short-tempered, unfriendly people at the counter who seem put out to chat or say "thank you for coming in". It's a big miss in the world of customer service, especially now when all pizzas are to go orders (I haven't ordered delivery in ages so I can't comment on whether drivers are better at service). Finally, their online ordering system is fairly easy and straightforward - just be sure you pick the right location and go from there. If you are a member of their rewards club or you have a coupon you can't use any discounts when ordering online, so be sure to call in your order instead and mention your coupon before ordering. read more

I was soooo excited to try their pizza!!! But the pizza the sent us had burnt crust. After all, all the hype was about their amazing sourdough crust and I was so sad I didn't get to taste it because I was just trying to get over the burnt bitterness. The location on Redwood needs better customer service staff. I waited for the cashier, Graciela, to get off her personal phone as she texted whomever. I asked her questions about the menu and she seemed bothered that I inquired about the menu. I explained that I have never been to this place, so she said okay and walked away without explaining anything about the menu. I finally ordered my food, paid, and then I told the cashier I will be stepping out for a few minutes. I did not know I needed permission from a cashier to step out but she had to give me permission. Have been ordering from Red Boy quite a bit since the pandemic started and have really enjoyed it each time. The first time was a complete gamble since I had no idea how things would be when the shut-down first occurred and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Their signature sourdough crust definitely stands out from other pizzas that I like and have and it's delicious. The pizza isn't overly thick or chewy and sauce and toppings were just right. I stick to simple pepperoni with some mushrooms and each time the pie has been absolutely tasty. Delivery has been hit/miss on timing but can't blame them for the 3rd party services and now that I realize how close they actually are, I'm just going straight to take-out. Michele and I go to Red Boy a few times a year. The pizza is good, but they place is a bit drab and unimpressive. They have a very small bar with a few beers and wines. The vegetarian pizzas we have ordered there are serviceable. Good crust and ample toppings. Salads are boring and on par with pizza hut. The service here is spotty. Lots of young kids work here and their attention wanders. When they focus on you it is fine. The cooks hit it hard because they do a very lively delivery business. Redwood Square is a bit of a mess at the moment but businesses like this need your help at these times. So go visit Red Boy for a nice slice of pie. read more
