Horrible service and exorbitant prices for subpar, and honestly quite depressing environment and dining experience! We were so hungry and looking forward to some seafood and were grandly disappointed by the attitude and hospitality shown by the hostess. My boyfriend was extra hungry and looking forward to the all-you-can-eat platter. I also knew what I wanted - simply 12 oysters. We have been to this establishment before and quite frankly we aren't fans of the environment but we do appreciate the taste of the food. One would think these are quite simple and easy to fulfill requests, one all you can eat platter and a dozen oysters. But unfortunately the hostess who sat us down stated if ONE of us orders an "all you can eat" meal, we BOTH MUST order and pay for all you can eat meals What if I was allergic to most of the seafood except shrimp, fish etc whatever? What if I had specific food restrictions and/or only wanted specific things off the menu, such as oysters? What if I was a vegetarian and/or only wanted to order corn and potatoes and other sides? Well, if one of your party gets all-you-can-eat, you better get ready to get all-you-can-eat too! You get no choice! I wanted only oysters until she put these conditions on what we can and cannot order. Here's a scenario - How idiotic does it sound, they expect me to order all-you-can-eat seafood meal even if I'm a vegetarian? I couldn't order anything else if my companion orders an all you can eat meal. This was such a huge disappointment and I quite simply was amazed at the mandatory demand the hostess made for us to buy an all-you-can-eat meal when I don't even eat that. Seriously.... She not only turn away business but made a customer feel less than welcome, unwelcome and uncomfortable to dine in or enter their restaurant. I would not support such an establishment again unless they change their way of doing business. I ask for the Juicy Sauce to be Mild but and extra side of the Hot Hot Cajun Juicy for myself and some regular Garlic Butter Juicy for her. Kayla had never ever tried Oysters and to be truthful last summer in Panacea, Florida was my first time too. This was my first time trying them steamed! When they arrived in their shell on the platter with the lemon wedges, I Immediately squeezed some zesty lemon on them! I could see the spicy oozing on top and was a little worried to rich for Kayla. She doesn't really do spicy! Deacon Immediately perked up and said he wanted to try them too..I was very happy to hear he was eager at 6yrs old to try but a little alarmed due to spice. But, he wanted to give it a whirl. I tried to find less looking spicy piece. Showed Kayla how to loosen from the shell and she dived in! Deacon tried and Immediately started fanning his mouth and drinking his Sprite. Shoot, I hope I didn't ruin it for him!! Kayla ate one, not crazy about the spice either. I should have ordered regular, I messed up but Hey, I thought they were divine!!! I loved the spicy but it was a tad hot! Then they brought out our platter. Deacon was still eager to try the Snow Crab meat, Sausage, Shrimp and even the Lobster Tail...which ended up being his favorite. This building has gone through many changes over the years... I have tried all of them in the time that I've lived in the area. Personally, I am a huge seafood lover, and being this had a unique offering of an all you can eat, I had to give it a try. The restaurant itself has had a beautiful makeover from what was previously in the same spot. It was welcoming, decorated nicely, and very very clean. For $60 the options were fast. Everything from fries, mozzarella sticks, soups, sausage, oysters, crab, scallops, shrimp, clams, etc.. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and prompt. I was not prepared for how generous the portions are, and next time, because there will definitely be a next time, I will focus more on the meat vs. the sides. With that being said, absolutely everything ordered was inhaled! The seafood was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The clam chowder was one of the best I've had in a very long time, which was definitely a surprise. So often all you can eat restaurants have an abundance of options but it's very poorly executed. That did not apply to my visit at red crab. I can honestly say there wasn't one bite that I did not thoroughly enjoy and has since left me craving and wanting more. Having one stomach just wasn't enough for this experience. . My advice to anyone wanting to venture to this place, for the all you can eat, is to go hungry! I mean RAVISHED! Another's review brought to my attention a ludicrous rule. If someone in your party sits with you and does not take in the all you can eat menu then they have two options: 1) eat their meal at a separate table or 2) pay the all you can eat rate and just eat their food (ex. Chicken tenders). I called to confirm the accuracy since my husband does not eat shellfish but my mom wanted to go for all-you-can-eat crab legs. And speaking to the person answering the phone, the reviewer was accurate. Oysters, Dungeness crabs, clams, shrimp ... it was all very good, here's the main reason why: you pick the seafood you want, pick your sauces (garlic butter, Cajun, etc.), your seasonings and the heat level. Oysters you can even pick if you want them steamed and how raw or well done you want them. I'm not sure what else one may want, they let you select exactly what you like and how you like it. Anytime you let me play with my food, I'm here for it! I had the mussels, shrimp, and king crab leg boil with medium heat. It was soooo good. I probably could have amped up the heat a bit but I love spicy food. It was also a lot of food, so share if you're not a big eater. The parking lot was nice and big, which is always helpful. I was going to try this place tonight. Friends are going. However, my wife is allergic to shellfish. We have no issues when I eat seafood and she has chicken or steak at other restaurants. The thing is, if the two friends and me order the all you can eat seafood, my wife has to pay the all you can eat price for chicken fingers to be able to sit with us! This really seems ridiculous. Terrible experience. Be very careful - research the most recent Health Department inspection before eating here. Don't say you haven't been warned. We were very excited to find this close-by seafood place so we went last week looking forward to diving into some fresh seafood. Asked our pleasant server what she recommended and her immediate reply was "one of the boils or the shrimp pasta". Ok. Ordered both the shrimp pasta + the crab boil. Nice presentation. Ample servings. Tasty food. Reasonable prices. But. Big problems. Overnight we both developed classic food poisoning symptoms: vomiting, chills, feeling really sick, and diarrhea. It took us several days to feel well again. Neither of us hardly ever get sick but the contaminated meal we had at this place really knocked us on our butt. Researching the Red Crab on the Health Department website, we find this place scored an F in October/after its most recent inspection. Why doesn't the State of FL require restaurants post their Health Inspection score? Other states do it - we could have saved ourselves from getting poisoned and feeling near death had we known Red Crab failed. Frankly it'll be a long time before we eat here again. read more

All the taps were broken so no beer other than some domestic bottles. Food was just ok, nothing special. Serving sizes were not worth their prices. Ordered a boil and Cajun rice and shrimp. Cajun rice was over cooked and the shrimp tasted plain. Also, I'm not too sure about their health practices here either. After receiving my order, I checked to make sure all the food was there before I left the parking lot (to go order). The seafood boil I ordered contained a few pieces of corn that were supposed to be on the side. After mentioning the issue, they asked for the seafood boil back, reopened the bag and removed the corn they put in by mistake. Being that I had left the restaurant with my food, they SHOULD NOT have reopened the bag to remove anything. One of two things happened, either they removed and gave the corn to someone else, which is a HUGE safety and health hazard, or they simply threw it away. If they threw it away, why go through all the trouble of wasting food because you made a mistake placing a side order of corn, in with a spicy boil? I won't be visiting this restaurant again.
