Their lattes have a great consistency of flavor but not overbearing the coffee taste or purpose. It's a treat in your coffee. Another recommendation to try is the snickerdoodle latte. It taste like the cookie but not chalk full of sugar. They also have coffee beans to take home. They display and change our art pieces in their little shop as well. Empanadas are tasty and one of the best ham and cheese croissant to eat. Mini patio in the back and some seating in the front of the location. Perfect stop on your way in or out of town. read more

I headed up North from Los Angeles to stay in an Airbnb in Montecito to get away from the city, focus on work and focus my well being. This would be my 3rd coffeehouse during my stay, and by far, is now my favorite. I wish I had found it sooner because it is the closest to where I am staying! My first choice at any coffee place is an unsweetened matcha latte with oat milk. Red Kettle Coffee had a drink called the Motion Potion: matcha, espresso, and vanilla. It was fantastic! I got a small 12 oz and it had a perfect balance of flavors. Sometimes when places add vanilla or a sweetener it is too sweet for me and when they add espresso it overpowers the matcha. It also had a cute gift shop with locally made products. I love to support small businesses and local artists. Grabbed a card and some stickers. It is in Summerland, right off the 101 freeway heading into Santa Barbara from Los Angeles. I think this will be my go-to coffee when I am in the area. read more

Today seems like Groundhog Day because I could have sworn I wrote this adorable Woman-owned, downtown Summerland coffee shop two or three reviews by now... Yet, the early onset dementia wins again! The Red Kettle is my go-to on multiple occasions when... 1) I bring visitors to the beach at Summerland 2) I'm desperately stuck in traffic on the 101 between Carpinteria and Santa Barbara and need a caffeine pick-up STAT 3) I have the taste for a unique espresso creation 4) I am on the search for cute local art or card to give as a gift. You can't help yourself but smile at the somewhat recently installed massive gnome statue out front. They always decorate him for the various calendar holiday. There is a neighborhood mini library too. Once you step inside the little shop, you'll peruse an assortment of trinkets, art and other items for sale. Moving on to the edible items, they have local baked pastries for sale; and as of recent empanadas. I come for the espresso drinks because I can always count on them for having a unique latte with a fun title: S'Mores, Turtle, Root Beer, Ray of Sunshine, Rainy Day, Salty Bumble Bee, Motion Potion...the list goes on. Iv been coming here for years and love the service until today . We placed a pickup order and called three times . No one answered. When we arrived, there wasn't a line or crowd--so we were a little surprised to be met with a snarky comment from the barista about how "calling repeatedly doesn't help." While staying in a Montecito AirBnB, we were trying to stay local, rather than hitting up the chains. I found Red Kettle Coffee while browsing on Yelp, and it sounded like the kind of place we'd like. I was so correct! The servers were friendly and polite, and Mark said the coffee was great. I thought it smelled wonderful - I'm one of those odd people who absolutely cannot drink coffee, but the aroma of good coffee is all I need to start my day! We also purchased some breakfast pastries that were delicious. We sat out on the patio which was pleasant and quiet, probably because of the grey, drizzly day (I had never heard of Grey May until I came down here...). I just love finding a new great coffee shop. Especially one close to my home. Red Kettle is close to my home and cute enough with a nice back patio but sadly I can't call it "Great" I wonder what would happen if a person who loves wine would walk into a little wine bar and plunk down $20 for a great glass of Pinot Noir and the wine was served in a plastic red cup? I think that would be a never-come-back moment. Getting my coffee served in a white paper cup is kind of a deal breaker. I am weird when it comes to my bagels. I like them cooked dark. Very, very, very dark with a nice dollop of cream cheese on the side. I usually tell them to toast the bagel until they would normally throw it away and then toast it some more. My bagel (in a bag) was darker than some but fell very short of my description, the dollop was a tube of cream cheese that was hard to open. Again presentation is a huge part of the experience. Thank you but I'll be heading to Cajé or Dune from now on, they do it right. read more

I stopped by Red Kettle Coffee with my family during our drive down from Santa Barbara to Malibu. I've never heard of Summerland before but I'm glad we stopped here! Red Kettle is charming cozy coffee shop. They offer a great selection of handcrafted drinks as well as a few selected treats. I ordered an iced lavender latte which was delicious and I also bought one of their blueberry lemon cookies! It tasted like a muffin! I loved it! There's a small book case for a mini free library and they also sell an assortment of crafts and gifts. Is this the cutest coffee shop on the planet? Maybe! My family and I stopped in for a morning cup of coffee on our way down from Santa Barbara to Malibu. It was conveniently located right off the highway and there was plenty of street parking. The cafe itself looks like something out of a story book or a Nancy Meyers movie. It just oozes charm, from its shingled exterior to the gift shop and free library inside. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in answering our questions. I ended up getting the Summerland smoothie ($6 for 16 ounces), which had pineapple, mango, banana and milk. It was sweet sweet summer in a cup! They also had a delicious gluten free, vegan oatmeal cookie for $4.50. My husband and I bought the last two cookies they had and you better believe I savored mine to the last crumb. Every time we are on our way to Santa Barbara I've always wanted to stop by Summerland because it looks like a cute little town. We finally found a reason to stop in Summerland. Red Kettle Coffee was our reason, and it definitely did not disappoint. The coffee shop itself is super cute. They have a lot of different cute decorations/stickers for sale inside with a bunch of little gnomes everywhere. The staff are super friendly and nice. They also helped us make a decision with ordering the Snickerdoodle Latte, which was a great recommendation. I like to rate my places from 1 to 10. 1 through 3 - will never comeback 4 through 5.8 - will come back if someone I'm with wants to try the spot 5.9 though 7.0 -will come back 7.1 through 9.9 will make an effort to come back and recommend 10 the best place! (Haven't had a 10 because there is always a better place out there. My rating for this place is 7.2 (Will you come back? Definitely will be back!) Last day of camping and we were looking for some coffee for the drive home. This place was conveniently located right off the freeway. We got there and noticed they had a small parking lot but it was full so we were lucky to find street parking right in front. When you enter they have this cute little shop with stationary, stickers, mugs, etc., and everything is gnome themed. It's really cute. Prices are reasonable on all trinkets. You move further along and you get to the cashier. The menu is straightforward with the usual coffee drinks but they also have a handful of specialty drinks. They seemed pretty sweet and coming from a weekend of s'mores, sodas, and nachos, we just wanted good old fashioned coffee, haha. The cashier was super nice and engaging. We ordered some lattes and were asked to wait outside. There were some shaded tables and benches out front where customers were waiting for their drinks as well. We got our drinks and sat for a while. Coffee was delicious and exactly what we needed. Glad we found this spot and it's definitely worth a revisit when we're in the area again. read more

Great people, amazing tea/coffee, and reasonable prices! We had to stop by somewhere to change the baby's diaper and they allowed us to do so, without even asking to purchase anything, tho the restroom had this sign "for customers only". There was no changing table, but they had a side table which we used as a diaper changing station.
