He was very attentive, easy to talk to and was on top of everything! On Valentine's Day, my wife and I went to this Burnsville MN restaurant for lunch. We sat in a booth where the bar area is. The waitress was extremely rude and raised her voice to us when she pointed to the menu that the oysters are either steamed or raw. (She has asked us how we want it prepared and we only pondered for a few seconds to think about it). She then uses her pen to point to that line in the menu as if we cannot read the menu. She then raised her voice to my wife when she asked what are the two sides she wanted in her order. She was extremely impatient and rude. We stood up and walk right out and when I told her that she was rude and condescending to us, she look puzzled and clueless. NOT a single word of apology. We experience this same waitress months ago and I recall that she already had an attitude back then. I asked for the Manager and he apologized to us but did nothing else. 30+ minutes after we ordered we got our food. I'm finished with my first round of endless shrimp and my kids are pretty much done with their food and my side they came with my food isn't even on the table. My 5 year old was so hungry she asked the waiter twice where our food is, because a kids Mac and cheese shouldn't take 30+ minutes. My food temps for my first round were lukewarm and kind of hot. I've been doing endless shrimp for my birthday for years and typically the service is prompt. If you can bring a third basket of biscuits before the food comes there's a problem. If my incredibly polite child is demanding to know where her Mac and cheese is there's a problem. I'm basically having to order my kids dessert because they ate their food so fast and I literally just got my second round of shrimp. If my side from my first round doesn't show up before I'm done with this round of shrimp I would say this is by far the worst service at a red lobster I've ever had and I haven't been eating my shrimp I've been typing this review. My pregnant wife, my 11 mo old daughter, my disabled son and I went out to eat at red lobster in Burnsville, MN tonight to burn a $25.00 gift card we had received as a gift. Upon arrival at 5:00pm here on a Saturday night. We entered the lobby to get our waiting pager along with the rest of the 100 plus crammed in there like sardines (note the clever seafood reference). A 45 minute wait later and after informing all of the lobsters in the lobster tank out front that "none shall survive", our pager (that I had forgotten about and stuck in my back pocket) began to vibrate. While not an unpleasant experience, the sudden vibration. In my back pocket did catch me a little off guard. After my disappointment at realizing it was simply the pager, we swam upstream through the throngs of hungry seafood seekers to the hostess stand. We were led to table 37, where we were promptly turned about to the lobby as table 37 had not yet been cleaned. 5 minutes later, we were again led to table 37 to find it clean and were seated. Now, I know this sounds dicey so far, but here is where it all went 5 stars... The server was AMAZING! Never have we had such a compassionate, professional and attentive server in MN (and I mean at top quality restaurants, not a suburban chain like this). The gentleman who was serving us, was beyond amazing with my son. Not every waiter is good with disabled children, but this gentleman got down to eye level to talk to him and showed him total respect. Well, I've actually eaten there a few times, generally the food it good, service is ok but overall I'd say my opinion is that of being "underwhelmed" Long waits for dinner on a weekend evening, be prepared for over an hour and no place to sit at the bar. One thing that bothers me about the way Red Lobster serves the food is - you get your salad which is always good, then you get your entree comes out on a plate way too big. I ordered the make your own combination with stuffed flounder and scallops, both of which are small, then one clump of mashed potatoes on a HUGE white platter - so picture that and tell me that is not unattractive? Overall I'd say that Red Lobster just puts little or no effort into appealing presentation - a vegetable, anything with color?? Now I must say the scallops were DELICIOUS, the flounder is always good - so yes the food is always good but the rest is so lackluster - the overcrowded restaurant makes me feel somewhat like I'm in a cow pen. The bar is very nice looking, cool modern vibe but not enough room and the restaurant ambiance is again - underwhelming. We used a gift card that we received for Christmas. I had the parmesan tilapia with green beans and broccoli, and a salad. He had the pick 3 with shrimp skewers, shrimp scampi, and crab legs, with corn and rice pilaf. The food was okay. The crab was good, and so was the tilapia, but they drowned everything in so much butter that we just felt gross by the time we left. Also, it was a Friday so we called for a reservation, but they don't take them there evidently. When we got there, it was packed so we just sat at the bar and ordered there. The service was extremely slow and the bartender who served us clearly needed another one on to help. I can't imagine us coming back anytime soon. WAY to heavy/gross/buttery/fatty. read more

But I got sucked in by "Lobsterfest" marketing and all the beautifully composed, musically scored, and classically choreographed advertisements of luscious & delicious Lobster. NOT! Wait staff was great but food was awful and overpriced. I have gone to this restaurant several times over the years. I normally don't choose this place but other people in the family choose it because of the lack of seafood in the area so I join them. Walking into this place you first get hit by a strong fishy smell. I mentioned something one time and the manager said that it might be clogged filters and she was going to check on it. The next time I went it a couple weeks later, same smell. I am not sure if it is the smell of the filthy carpet or unfresh food or unsanitary conditions. I at lunch here with my brother and his wife for lunch. I ordered the $30 Ultimate Feast with a Caesar salad and a few hours later, I was starting to feel uneasy. 5:00 rolled around and it was getting worse so I headed home from work only to have to stop driving twice to heave into a plastic bag. I called the restaurant and gave them my info and asked if they had any other reports. They said they didn't. I wasn't able to sleep all night and stayed home from work the next day because my stomach was still uneasy and I was tired. Their insurance person followed up with me but the restaurant didn't. I paid $30 to get that sick. Not Fun! I would avoid this place at all costs in the future. I will be making the longer drive to another place to get my seafood fix from now on. read more

Expect a wait during peak times, but the service is great, the staff is really good (other than my note below), and the food is consistently what you would expect from Red Lobster. Really good value for your money. The host they often have in front though, including tonight, she is horrible. She has been so rude to my family and me on a number of occasions. Even at her dead level best, the lobster in the aquarium have more spunk and personality than she does. The last experience I had at this Red Lobster in Burnsville, was actually quite good, which is why tonight's experience was so very disappointing. I ordered the whole 1.25 lb. Maine lobster, and chose a baked potato with BUTTER and broccoli as the two sides. Prefaced this with a Grand something margarita. The drink was okay, nothing special, certainly not very strong. The waiter asked if I wanted butter and sour cream with my baked potato and I said, no just butter, which he acknowledged. Got the potato with sour cream only. And it came in the same dish as the brocolli, so when I was finally able to snag the waiter and get him to replace it, the veg was cold by the time I got the potato back. And then there was the lobster. Total CRAP! Such a waste of money, time and taste buds. Of the little bit of lobster I got out of the tail, it was watery and tasteless. Got a little meat out of one claw, the other claw was completely empty. The middle part of the lobster had green goo and this nasty white smeary stuff all over it, so didn't touch that. So, I ate less than HALF of that damn thing. The only reason why I didn't call the manager over was because I had gift cards to use for some of the cost and was too damn tired to make a big deal of it. This is a tough review to write. The food is good, when you finally get seated the wait staff is good, the issue I have is with the management. I find it absolutely ridiculous that they don't take reservations on weekends, it would make things run so much more smoothly and you wouldn't have the tremendous wait times. What is the point of calling ahead if you still have to wait over 45 minutes when you get there. I started busing tables myself because no one else was doing it and then I got the stink eye from the manager. SERIOUSLY??? I am helping your sorry butt so you can get more people seated. Generally this restaurant is my FIRST choice, but we visited on a Sunday at noon and were very dissatisfied with a number of things. First of all, we were there to celebrate both my son and his fiances birthdays. They both ordered the Parmesan crusted chicken fettuccine. We were given 4 biscuits for the 5 of us. . .when we asked for more biscuits, we were given another 3. . .really? for 5 adults? The Parmesan crusted chicken dish arrived and my son and his fiance could not eat it. . .it had a peculiar smell and tasted sour. So. . . .we spent over $120, only three of us could eat our meals, there was apparently a ration on biscuits and the two birthday guests were not even offered a birthday treat.
