My boyfriend and I ordered drinks: a Berry Mango Daiquiri for him and a Blackberry Amaretto Sour for me. these drinks are definitely worth the money! not too strong, and not too sweet. if you enjoy sourness like I do, the amaretto sour was perfect. Entrees: Lobster fish tacos for him and flounder with lobster mashed potatoes for me. I have enjoyed dining at Red Lobster for more than 40 years. However aft the trip there tonite, never again. If it was the first time it happened maybe-but definitely not the third time. We got there a little after 4:30 and greeted and seated by a very nice young woman who said our waiter would be with us shortly. After 20 minutes a lady was seated across from us. Not five minutes later her waitress showed up to take her order. Now we've been sitting there for 25 minutes and not even a drink order taken. Okay, I'll admit, I've lost count of how many times I've actually been to Red Lobster. It's one of those places that you just lose track over the years. My grandpa loved Red Lobster and ate there frequently. Lately, I haven't been to many big chain restaurants as I love trying new things. My wife wanted to go as it's kind of hard to track down decent sea food in Charlotte and surrounding. Red Lobster normally always comes through for me and luckily enough, I've never had one issue at the many locations I've been to. We where going to the movies at the mall and decided to go eat early. The wait was only 15 minutes. I was shocked about this. The staff was great, the waiter was very good. The food. We wanted to shake things up a bit and not do what we normally do here. To start, of course we had our fill of the biscuits. We then ordered the lobster pizza appetizer. After that we ordered a few items from the new small bites menu. We got the dumplings and the lobster roll. The dumplings had a spicy sauce on it, which my wife thought was too hot, but I loved it. The lobster roll was amazing in flavor, but I was kind of disappointed that it was more of a ice of toast that was folded over and not a roll at all. They also left the salad off of it. After that we ordered some of the lobster tacos. They were okay, but the sauce was so overpowering that we could not taste the lobster at all. And the tacos were only about half way filled. What a great experience! Richard was very attentive to our needs and order was correct. Condiments were offered and delivered with our meal and dirty plates and glassware were cleared in a timely manner. Our drinks were never empty and we observed him taking care of multiple tables while maintaining bar service. I was a little scared coming into the place after reading the reviews but I'm the type of person who need to witness for herself. Came in and was greeted immediately by the staff, we got sat in seconds. Masks are required to be worn, we also witnessed the tables being cleaned properly after each seating. Our waiter was Lesly which by the way is extremely profesional, she got our drink within second, the bread came out as perfect as I remembered it! I ordered a special plate I asked her if I could have the linguini without sauce and some tomato sauce on the side. Our food came out within minutes. My pasta was so delicious and fresh! The waitress never told us her name, waited over 20 minutes for water and then another 10 to place an order for an appetizer, waited 2x for biscuits and for water refills over 15 minutes. This was probably one of the worst dinning experiences I've had all year. We get seated around 6:15 and we don't get asked if we want bread water nothing ! The bartender was our waiter (worst decision ever) our server/bartender had serval people helping us on his behalf to the point that we didn't even know who our server was anymore. It's been awhile since I've been to Red Lobster and I'm sad to report that it is still sub par and to be skipped. Of ALL the hundreds of restaurants in Charlotte, a friend chose Red Lobster for her birthday dinner. So there I was at RL. I ordered the lobster tacos with sweet potatoes and a Caesar salad for my side. The Caesar salad was basic. Given that this is a seafood restaurant, where are the anchovies. Some cracked pepper would've helped. That being said, it was an average appetizer caesar. The real disappointment came in the entree. My lobster tacos were TERRIBLE. I thought that the order wasn't ours because the lobster looked like a few pieces of fried shrimp. Then to bit in and not taste lobster, just overwhelming salty sauce was such a let down. The sauce overpowered the little bit of lobster that was there. I ended up getting a fork and eating the lobster before the other taco filling to hope to taste some lobster. And mind you, there was very little lobster. NOTHING like the fresh chunks you see in the picture. FALSE ADVERTISING! I should write corporate. The worst part of dinner were the whipped sweet potatoes with honey roasted pecans. It came out drowning in butter and was actually salty. I asked the waitress for the side without butter. It came out, no obvious butter on top. BUT still way too salty. The butter was just mixed not slathered on top. This let me know there are NO whole sweet potatoes in the back. Just a puree that's shipped in and heated up. Gross. Service was very kind and came out to sing happy birthday to my friend. She enjoyed her meal. She had the wood grilled salmon, shrimp, and lobster. It was fine. And I suppose because it was her birthday that her happiness is what mattered. The salad was ok and the appetizer was decent. The pastas we ordered were appalling. My son ordered the Cajun Chicken Linguini Alfredo and it was drowning in the sauce and inedible. My daughter and I ordered the Shrimp Linguini Alfredo and it was also inedible. Drowning in sauce that was weirdly overly sweet. Bleh. I won't be back. My sister and I went to Red lobster Monday after we visited the Concord Mill location on 11/21/2023 and we received less than good service as well as food quality was poor. They had NO BISCUITS! Anyway so we figured we go to a different Red Lobster to share in more sister time and eat some cheddar bay biscuits and good food! Well no that didn't happen at this location either. The food items we ordered was not what was received. We were lied to several times by our waitress then the COUGHING, SICK manager would come and say the complete opposite of what our waitress would like to us and say. I ordered the crab legs special with broccoli, the medallion potatoes that come with the dish, a side order of sampi. Well I never got my sampi, never got the medallion potatoes. Our waitress lied and said there were none as she sat down a unordered bowl of French fries! She said the kitchen gives you 1 or the other even though I was never informed of this ahead of time. Our waitress lied and said there were no baked potatoes then the sick couching manger came and said yes we do have a lot of baked potatoes in the back! REALLY I said to her. The waitress then brought my crab legs covered with garlic sauce even though I requested just steamed. She took those away and once she finally returned with the correct way I ordered them she brought me no drawn butter. No lemons. I asked twice for butter and never received it until we were fed up and about to leave. No even half of the little cup had butter in it. My sister ordered the soy-ginger salmon bowl. The waitress sat it down with NO sauce at all and said "ain't none in the kitchen our truck comes on Wednesday". She never informed my sister that her dish would be incomplete. Then the couching,sick manager returns and says " I can go into the kitchen and see if we have some of the ingredients to see if I can make you some", after she turns and starts coughing! Really. So at this point this too is a major fail. She did remove my food items as I ate nothing I ordered. She reduced my sister order because she ate her salmon! After my sister begged for some type of sauce to eat it with. We were given any form of gift card for this piss poor lack luster service and food. The manager just said come back soon to see if we can have a better experience next time! Now I love Red lobster but 2 fails at 2 different locations in a week and half. The bar is always dirty. The biscuits are always over done. The lettuce in the Caesar salad is always brown and unpleasant... the bartenders seem to just be going through the motions and prefer to just be entertaining each other. The 3 times I've gotten Togo orders something is ALWAYS missing so I literally have to open every thing right at the bar before I leave!!! And sure enough something is ALWAYS missing. The first time I order a pickup order I was quoted 25 minutes. I actually arrived in 30 minutes and the bartender told me the order WASN'T EVEN STARTED!!!! Because I'm working on my patience I decided to try and wait... an additional 35 minutes later and my order was ready with TWO components missing!!! I guess there's a reason I hadn't been to a Red Lobster in almost a decade and tonight just reaffirmed my decision. There are simply better options out there. I'm going to try and keep this short, unlike the wait to be seated. On a Sunday evening I would imagine there would be a bit of a wait, but 30-45 seemed excessive. I dont know why, but we decided to accept the wait. The restaurant seemed packed, but there were red flags almost immediately upon entering. A seafood restaurant should smell, if anything, like butter and garlic and spices on cooked fish. While we sat and waited the only thing I could detect was an odd fishyza odor. I don't even know that it would have bothered me on it's own but paired with the unusually warm, humid air it was a less than desirable atmosphere. We finally get seated and get our drink orders and and another huge red flag pops up behind us. Two waitresses start talking to the table behind us and are trying to explain why even though they've been seated and waiting for food for some time they have yet to receive their meals. Something about "yes, I'm sorry we're just so busy but your meals have been on the front of the line for twenty minutes and I'm not sure why they haven't come out yet." I don't know if that's just an issue related to being understaffed or just poorly managed but we haven't even ordered yet and I'm already not having a great time. Waiter comes back with drinks pretty quick so we ask for another minute to scan the menu and then he drops the bomb. "We're out of bread." Apparently there was a sign at the front desk that mentioned this, but by his own admission it had been knocked over for at least the last half hour and the last ten tables or so, us included, had no idea until we were already seated. I'll be honest, I've never been a huge Red Lobster fan. I went along because the rest of my group wanted to go and I knew that even if I wasn't thrilled by my dish I would have those heavenly Cheddar Bay Biscuits to fall back on. Those biscuits are easily the best item they have and they were out. At almost an hour into this experience we've had nothing to eat yet and the one thing I wanted in the first place didn't exist. That was the last straw for me. I had only ordered water so far, so I just left. I told my party I'd meet up with them in a bit and I left. I stopped by the grocery store on the way home and grabbed a box of Red Lobster branded Cheddar Bay Biscuits and made them at home. Barely took 15 minutes to make and I'm writing this while eating one. I got a better, more enjoyable experience out of a $2 cardboard box than I did from the restaurant that licensed it. Come on guys. The only reason this place isn't getting a straight one star review is that I didn't actually eat anything, but that could have just as easily made the experience worse as soon as it would have made it better. When I spoke with my friends who stayed they said the food was ok but they were out of several other items, not just the biscuits, and it still wasn't a great experience. When you are a national (international?) company with a huge restaurant in a prime location across from the largest mall in the south you would think that you'd want to give it your all. I hopped on the Red Lobster app to add us to the non-existent waiting list so we could walk right in, right? Wrong. Even though we put ourselves on the waitlist (that had zero wait) and set our arrival time, we were told when we got there the wait was 15-20 minutes, the same time as the people in front of us, who did NOT use the wait list. So, Red Lobster, what is the damn point? The rest of the woes from our visit came from our server. He was very nice, friendly, personable ... annnnnd forgetful. He took our drink order ... then 15 minutes later the drinks (waters) came. This was after another server approached us thinking that we had been forgotten due to sitting with an empty table so long. Then the salads came ... without croutons. I live for carbs, so this was a very sad salad for me. Knowing friends who worked here in the past, I know servers a responsible for making their own salads. Also, we had no silverware to said salad with. He went to get silverware, and literally over 5 minutes passed and he had not come back. We asked another server, who said okay, and never brought any back either. Close to a full 10 minutes had gone by, and our server came back with PLASTIC to-go silverware ... I kid you not. He said something about the kitchen being backed up and yada yada ... which was hilarious because there were many vacant tables. Food comes out, and my wife's order was wrong. Instead of waiting longer, she said accepted it and we moved on. I had to ask him for a drink refill 3 times before he finally brought it to me, as we were getting ready to finish up and leave. The saving grace was that Red Lobster now uses those touch screens at the tables so we could pay our bill on our own and scram, versus having to wait for hell to freeze over for the server to wring us up. Can tell this place is struggling hard with staffing as they were on a 2 hour wait with half the tables open. Hostess was rude to the guests and they ran out of silverware and were handing out plastic instead. It was listed as a 7 oz steak but was literally a 2.5inch cube. It was ordered Medium but was so over done at one point I thought I was going to choke while swallowing the first bite. The shrimp were oily and greasy to the touch and stringy and chewy texturally. The side of broccoli was so old it was brown and dry at the ends while the taste that of wilted lettuce. The only good part of our meal were the biscuits which come from a box and our server. We did not order to see a manager or make a fuss we simply asked for our bill. This was one of the saddest visits to a seafood restaurant in a very long time. My wife and I were hoping to pop in, grab two quick salads, and pop out at 11AM on a Sunday morning.
