We have been here three times in the last year and each time I come I feel like maybe I just don't like seafood? It's quite possible, I don't eat it often since my husband doesn't like seafood at all and I've never been a huge fan of fish. I just always feel let down but I don't want to punish a place because my taste preference doesn't match their genre. With that in mind I will try to be as objective as possible. This location is very upscale for a Red Lobster and has dim lighting and nice booths. The service has always been good every time we come here, some servers are just stellar. Also, who doesn't like cheddar bay biscuits??? They just keep offering them too! Those are soft, fluffy, flavorful and everyone I know likes them! Our first visit this year I was so disappointed that they didn't have crab cakes. I believe my husband got the swordfish which was pricey but he thought it was pretty good. I got one of their shrimp dishes and didn't especially like it, I thought it was okay but not worth the price. The last time we came was on a special occasion and had a great server! The mozzarella sticks we got as an appetizer were surprising. They looked like they came out of the freezer section of the grocery store and were around $8 so I didn't think they were worth the price either. On that visit we each got steak, different cuts and both were good. I also got crab cakes which I was really excited about and a lobster baked potato. The crab cakes were mushy, I think they couldn't hold up to the sauce so I was a little disappointed again. Today we were running a lot of errands so to keep the portion size down we ordered from the lunch menu. The cheddar bay biscuits were wonderful as usual. My husband got the wood fired cheeseburger with fries. The burger was fine but the bun was too crunchy for his taste and maybe a little small for the $9.49 price tag. I sampled some of his fries and found them to be quite bland. I built my own combo so I could sample a few things- I'm quite anxious to find out if I actually like seafood or not, lol. The coleslaw was extremely good, it was well seasoned and the mix was creamy and tasty. The clam strips were crispy and tasted fine but I couldn't really taste clam. I'm thinking the pieces were too small and maybe there was too much breading? I got two pieces of the fried fish. The fish had a good crunch on the outside but the texture on the inside was... wet? That may sound silly but I can't think of any other way to put it. It wasn't slimy, it wasn't overcooked or undercooked but the inside was too moist and maybe the opposing textures just threw me off. Also, it was under seasoned, definitely not bad but without seasoning it just tastes like breading and uh, wet fish. Also, I did not care for my rice pilaf at all. It was spicy, like Cajun spicy, what the hell? I asked the waitress about the ingredients and if it was normally spicy and she didn't know. She came back and said it wasn't usually spicy in a really unsure tone. There was a lot of food and we were getting ready to head out on the next errand so I told her not to worry about it, I just wanted to know if it was an execution error in case I wanted to try it in the future. She then told me it must have gotten mixed with something... like that was normal. So I'm really trying to be fair here since I'm not a seafood expert but one thing I am certain of is that their prices are high for the quality and execution that is served. Maybe I'm just ordering the wrong things and maybe if I brought a seafoodie with me next time they may put me in my place but I only find the experiences okay for what I am being served. In case you were wondering, yes I did just make up a word but I like it and to me, a seafoodie is now a legitimate title for people I know who love seafood. Maybe I don't like seafood enough to eat here, but why do I keep wanting to eat some then? I think some of the pressure has to be on Red Lobster to deliver something delicious. read more

Well things got better but not! Arrived to a busy restaurant and that's understandable. Was given a device to call us when the table was ready. As we walked over tot he bar and decided to buy drinks we noticed that there was 2 employ tables and when we asked If we could sit there we were told rudely that they were on some kind of seating style and could not allow us to sit unless the hostess seated us.... ok? So we sat at the bar with our 9 year old until the table was ready. Then when we get to our table we order and we then wait 8-10 minutes for an extra plate. All in all the food was good. The service here was horrendous! After 10 mins we quickly got seated, however it took 10 minutes for our server to even get our drinks order and greet us. Drinks were brought quick but they were wrong. The server then took back the drinks and it took another 5 minutes to get the right drinks. Another 10 minutes passed and he came back to get our appetizer order, at that point we just asked for bread and told him we were ready to order. After ordering it took another 10 minutes to get bread. Another 30 mins passed until our waiter came back and at that point our drinks were empty and so was our bread. We asked for another basket and was told there was a "bread shortage". Maybe 5 mins later the bread came out. But it took another 10-15 mins before our food arrived. In all it was over an hour before we got our dinner. By the time the food came our drinks were empty again. I ordered a salad and the salad came out after my entree. My husband and son were also missing their sides and the waiter had to be asked. Once we finally got our food, the waiter came by almost every 5 minutes to ask if we needed boxes, then the check, then asked again if we needed anything else. He also never bothered to refill drinks while hounding us. At one point he also started clearing plates off the table, that we were still eating from! And we had to tell him "we're still eating that." The last straw was when he asked if we're ready for our bill. We finally replied yes and he grabbed the little handheld screen to pull up our bill (something we could have done on our own.) Then he just stood there as I searched for my card, inserted it into the machine and entered his tip. The receipt never printed and he said "someone will bring your receipt". We waited and ended up leaving because the receipt never came. I understand the rush to get off on a Saturday night, but I've never been so uncomfortable and badgered by a waiter. He also blamed the kitchen for the long wait, which I can understand -- but his lack of checking in on us before we got our meals was disappointing. His service was just horrible. read more

Why does Red Lobster have to get rid of a good thing? The lobster roll sandwich was just enough for senior meal. Naturally they have replaced it with a shrimp/lobster(which hardly exists) mayo based cold sandwich. You can purchase much of the same at any Wal Mart deli...which I would not dare to try. There is no smaller portion senior meal available. I do not take left overs home with me. At my house, they end up forgotten in the back of the refrigerator until they spoil and are found a week later. My son had a salad with shrimp and tea. I ordered the above sandwich and peach tea. Just awful. Can you go wrong with cheddar bay biscuits? Yes, apparently you can. The biscuits were hard and stale. The staff was very distracted with conversations between themselves. The waiter brought our salads without ever giving us silverware. Silverware took about 10 minutes to come out, my husband's only had a knife in it. Ordered lobster Alfredo, received lobster Mac and cheese that looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. The scallops were extremely over cooked, very stringy. This is the only poor family meal take out experience I have had during this coronavirus time. I waited over an hour past my pick up time. I called during the wait time to check on the status and was told the kitchen was backed up and they couldn't give me an estimate of how much longer it would be. I finally went inside to check and ask for a refund if it would be much longer and my order was ready and has been sitting there. The food was cold. I didn't get all of the biscuits I ordered. The biscuits i did get were broken up in pieces. There was no tartar sauce or cocktail sauce with the order for fried fish and shrimp. This is not my first visit to Red Lobster but it was a first for this location. We didn't have to wait to be seated for dinner and were sat upon entering. Our server, Billy greeted me immediately. He was nice, knowledgeable, genuine and accommodating. His attention to detail was spot on. Asking targeted questions to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. And promptly fixing the issue when there was a small problem with my salad. He even checked on us at appropriate times without being bothersome. The food was plentiful and excellent as always. My eyes were bigger than my stomach so Billy was nice enough to package the food to go for me, and also bring fresh, warm cheddar biscuits. My fiancée and I decided we were in the mood for seafood around 9:45pm on Friday night, and after checking Red Lobster's hours of operation and seeing they don't close until 11pm on Friday-Saturday, we decided to head that way. Upon arrival, the parking lot was dead, but we expected that, being the late hour. We were promptly greeted by the hostess and were shown to a booth, where we were introduced to our waiter, Josh. Josh was phenomenal in every aspect! He was polite, personable, professional, attentive, knowledgable, and prompt. He recommended a DELICIOUS appetizer (some sort of deep-fried crab fritters) and told us, in great detail, about all of their daily specials. To reiterate, Josh was hands-down the best part of our visit. Our orders were perfect, our glasses were always filled, our satisfaction was of genuine concern to him, and he even entertained us with his stellar personality. Bravo, Josh! The entrees were also worthy of praise! Absolutely delicious! My fiancée ordered the fried shrimp, and I ordered the Bairdi Alaskan Crab Legs. The menu said "a generous portion," but I kept my expectations low, given the fickle nature of most restaurants, especially seafood joints. I couldn't have been more incorrect. They must have brought me two and a half pounds of crab legs. For the first time in my life, I wasn't able to finish my entire crab leg entree, and it's a darn shame, because it was incredibly delectable! All-in-all, this had to have been one of my most unforgettable restaurant experiences in Denton. The food was terrific, the service was second-to-none (JOSH RULES!), and the establishment was both clean and quaint. Absolutely zero complaints. I will absolutely be returning soon. Went inside too have a meal. Their were only 2 other groups inside. The hostess tried to set is right next to one of the groups. We asked if it would be possible to have an empty table between us. She appeared irritated that we made this request, but after talking to a different waitress she was willing to set is at another location with a table between us. The very next couple that came in she set in the empty table between us even though there were plenty of empty tables. They are seem to be unaware of the pandemic. Hope this helps you to be aware of the lack of concern about the pandemic. I will talk to the manager before posting this to see if they are aware of the situation. I could understand if there were not many tables empty. But this was not the case. Do want to mention the meal was very good and or waitress was very pleasant. Just talked to manager which said since corporate opened up to 100% that they use every table and sit everyone together. This means that unvaccinated people are 1 foot apart since the booths are joined together. I recently revisited the Red Lobster as my granddaughter asked to go, this was a totally different experience altogether from my previous visit. It is good to know that they sincerely care about the customer experience. The hostess greeted us promptly, and then a man who I believe may have been the Manager of the location came to the front, and began talking to us. My granddaughter was asking about the lobsters in the tank, and the man asked if she wanted to touch the lobster. Although she was a little nervous, he reassured her that the lobster would not harm her. She then reached over and stroked the lobsters claw. Afterwards we were seated and immediately waited on. Our food came out within a reasonable amount of time, and everything was perfect. The portion size, the cost and the service we were provided definitely made up for our first visit to this location. They said they were out of salad, and all soups except for clam chowder since my daughter nor I wanted clam chowder they said they would send extra biscuits. We received our food at 6:30. The management here is awful. I was fired after a year and a half for having covid and they labeled it "not being dependable" but simply fired me for being sick. They allow cooks to work with covid telling them to stand in the freezer and retaking their temperature. Plus there are colonies of maggots and fruit flies right under the draft beer. I know I've have good seafood at Red Lobster before, just not this trip. It had been a long time since I had been to a RL and I succumbed to their TV ad for all you can eat shrimp, big mistake. I tried all of the shrimp dishes; all of them where bland and the shrimp tastless. I'm sure the regular dishes were much better, from what I saw on other tables, and has been my experience in the past. The cheap shrimp dishes I had appeared to be more like TV dinners in comparison. If they weren't prepared ahead of time and frozen, I'd be surprised; they certainly tasted like it. This is a shame since I won't be in any hurry to return. When will restaurants learn they aren't doing them any favors by serving substandard food, especially if it is for an ad campaign designed to get new people in the door. read more

Today was absolutely the worst service I have ever received from this restaurant, clearly the waitress was inexperienced at waiting on a large group it was a party of 8, instead of going around the table to collect the orders she stood at one end and wanted us to yell out our orders. When we requested biscuits we were told it would be approx 3 minutes and they would be ready. Well 3 minutes turned in 30 minutes, while other tables were being served theirs biscuits. When we asked to see the manager. She came to the table and tried to belittle us for asking about why it took so long, and told us "what do you want? I have been coming to this Red Lobster for years. Every few months or so. Each time I am in, I think "why has it been so long?" The menu changes, but the food always good. Several healthy choices on the menu that don't leave you feeling hungry. The wait staff is always professional and nice. Tonight, they were especially on it...maybe the rain? The shrimp scampi wasn't the best I've had from a red lobster, but was still pretty good. I got the endless shrimp and it truly is endless, but the portions were very small. Good for me since I don't eat much so I was able to try both the new types and and still eat the normal favorites. I highly recommend the Korean bbq if they keep that one around. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expect different results. That is the essence of our experience with Red Lobster. Each visit ends with "we are not coming back"! The latest visit started with a waiter that could not get anything right and we had to request a different server and then my salad was delivered with a large piece of the lettuce core buried in the middle. They then failed to deliver my wife's backed potato. The food was served luke warm which seems to be a common problem st this restaurant. I ordered lobster tacos that were cold and the tortillas were over cooked. My wife had the crab alfredo, and her sauce was broken and looked like a pool of butter.
