Service was incredibly slow. When we arrived there was no one waiting in front of us, yet it took 15 minutes to be seated. Once we finally got our table we felt rushed to order. We ordered alcoholic drinks that tasted like they had 0% alcohol in them. Our appetizer was the only thing that was good. After that, we waited for our entree for an hour (we also had two babies with us) so two adults and two babies.... it took and hour to get food. Our entree was cold and the food tasted like actual rubber covered in butter. We had the manager involved but she barely offered any accommodations. She only took $10 off our total which was still an outrageous price for only eating our appetizer and two drinks. We did not eat even 1/4 of the entree. To sum up my review in one word: downhill. The greeting was prompt when my party came through the door. Always appreciated! We barely had time to soak in the romantically dim lighting and the captive lobsters in the glass tank before we were brought to our table. A+ for speed! As we sat waiting for our waiter (how ironic), we were puzzled by the fact that, despite the restaurant's low attendance at that particular time, several empty tables hadn't been bussed yet and the floor beside our table looked like an army had marched through with onlookers and well-wishers casting dinner rolls before them. Crumbs and filth all over. Not cool. Within a minute or two, our waiter arrived. He was hospitable, articulate, and was very knowledgeable about the menu offerings. So far, so good. Then something bizarre happened. After we made our order, our waiter, Jason, printed out our bills immediately and asked us to do the survey on the receipt. He asked that we mention him by name and say something good about him. In exchange for this, we were each to receive a free desert. Caring more about the prospect of a free desert than the integrity of Red Lobster's internal surveys, we accepted. While we waited for the food, we did the surveys and were sure to show Jason that we'd completed them. He was appreciative. The Caesar Salad that I ate was good. It didn't blow me away and it wasn't bad, it was what I expect from a good Caesar Salad. Then my entree arrived. I ordered from their "pick two" menu section (or whatever it was called) and got the Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo, Flounder stuffed with Crab meat, and a loaded baked potato on the side. The flounder was pretty good, the baked potato was okay, and the Alfredo wasn't very good at all. In addition to tasting like microwaved leftovers, the shrimps that came in the Alfredo were teeny tiny shrimps that seemed almost too small to go in Shrimp Lo Mein. Very unimpressive, especially for the price point. The meal overall seemed like I could have scooped my food from a low quality buffet line. Refills were brought with...acceptable timeliness, though they could have been quicker considering how few people were eating there. (I could only see one other party eating at the time.) Our entrees were done and the moment of truth had arrived. Would we reap the fruit of our survey-taking labor? Yes! True to his word, he asked us which free deserts we wanted from the menu. I got the Chocolate Chip Cookie Lava Cake (or something along those lines). After he took our desert order, Jason went on to explain that this location had been #1 in the region for survey responses but had recently been surpassed by the Fairfax location. In an effort to once again be King of the Hill, the manager told the waiters to do whatever it takes to get good survey results: give free deserts, etc., etc. Jason claimed that the penalty for failing to receive these highly prized survey results would be a harsh slashing of hours and, consequently, pay. Interesting. It's nice to know that this business wants to scam and bribe its way into being #1 rather than earn it by cooking better food, vacuuming the floors, cleaning the tables, and everything else that's expected of a restaurant that wants to stay in business You really can't complain about a free desert, but, since I technically earned it by taking that bothersome survey, I will complain. The Chocolate Chip Lava Cookie portion of the desert was room temperature with a cold core. I have no doubt that it was completely frozen just minutes before. They must have pressed the wrong button on their microwave, because it didn't thaw all the way. The whole point of a lava cake-type desert is to have melted chocolate ooze from the center to mix with the cool ice cream. That's obviously not how this one turned out. A very disappointing end to a lousy and concerning dining experience at what used to be a pretty nice place. At least the Red Lobster cheddar rolls were good! read more

I went here for my birthday, and it was my first time eating at a Red Lobster. Let me say, the food was good, and the restaurant itself was CLEAN. The only turn off was the singing of "Happy Birthday"; however, they were only doing what the rest of my party unanimously decided. I'm always a fan of the Fredericksburg Red Lobster but like any other large chain that serves LOTS of people, there's a chance that food or service may suffer. While this is the BEST Red Lobster in the vicinity, a Sunday lunch after church is guaranteed busy to the hilt with families. Our party of 4 split some appetizers and we all got a surf and turf lunch combo. Yummy seasoned biscuits keep you going until the food gets there. A little overcooked, but that's probably due to the high-volume service at the time. Good flavor, so even overcooked it was all very tasty. The ambiance is GREAT for a gathering of friends who want to talk without feeling like interupping the next table; it's just not the place for that one-on-one romantic lunch date. We have food allergies. And when asked all they could say we just cook it. We don't make many of our things here. So we don't know what's in our food we serve. When we asked for the manager for more information. They said they would bring us a food allergy menu. But he did not include our food allergies and they had no idea what to do. I am from Maryland & love Red Lobster..I went to this location @ Spotsylvania Mall (October 14, 2017) to celebrate a family members birthday & was immediately turned off upon entering the establishment due to the sour dirty dish rag smell.. this smell was throughout the entire restaurant.. Fast forward to enjoying family time, and placing orders... they bring out their famous cheddar biscuits & as usual they didn't disappoint... Food arrives in good time (especially since we were a very big party) & Im excited because i get my usual New Orleans Seafood that i substituted the mashed potatoes for rice pilaf & added asparagus as my side... Took one bite of the salmon & it was extremely bland...(never had that experience before @ Red Lobster, the rice tasted like it was from a box & had been over cooked.. I then tried the shrimp that comes on top... & they were just "okay" .. & finally last but not least i go to my fav.. the asparagus & not only did it seem to be microwaved but it was so salty i couldn't eat it ..(how do you mess up asparagus?) .. Needless to say i returned the entire order. Thankfully I'd ordered the crab cake appetizer, and it was yummy. For a chain restaurant, I am impressed. The service was impeccable. While the food may have been average, the service definitely made up for it. Portions very generous, I had the Caesar salad, and I must admit that this was a first for me where the Parmesan shavings covered the whole salad, nothing skimpy. The food is such a disappointment... it really is quite astonishing how little they care about their product at this location lately. I'll cook. Also, my family and I were there later in the evening and didn't leave until closing... we walked out go into the car and I noticed that I left my wallet inside. I called to let them know that I needed to come in and the manager refused to allow me to come in. He said that he check the table we were seated at and my wallet was not there but he was extremely rude about it. When I insisted that he let me in to look myself he stated that he spent the last 10mins looking for my wallet himself... I looked down at my phone and we had only been on the phone for 3 mins *screw face* I said "but we have only been on the phone for 3 mins" he got quiet and put me on hold and came back and said that my wallet is not there. I then threatened to call the police. He then put me on hold again for maybe 8 seconds and comes back to reveal that he found my wallet. When I got my wallet all the contents had been messed up and out of place (I have OCD and all my cards are in order of expiration date and all of my paper money is President faced up. Smallest bill on top) I was extremely frustrated but relieved that the already unprofessional manager didn't take all my cash or my cards but I know that he wanted to and would have hadn't I been so adamant about getting my wallet back "NOW" I'm never going back to this location again. read more

Well we went for the crab fest and was very disappointed. Our crab was completed over cooked to the point that the shell didn't want to break. The corn was grilled to mush. I didn't give them 5 stars only because I work at a Red Lobster, and I know the protocol. Not all of the protocol was upheld. This included the hostess not introducing the server, or discussing the fresh fish menu. I was not happy at all with the hostess' attitude, but the server's infectious personality and spunk made up for it. If you love having to wait excessive amounts of time to be seen for your initial drinks, this is the place for you. If you enjoy waiting even longer for a refill, no one does it better. If you enjoy trying to get your waitress/ waiters attention and getting blatantly ignored, no place executes that quite like this Red Lobster does. If you enjoy never ending shrimp, that never makes it to your table, I can't stress enough how well these guys do at not bringing your food to you. If you enjoy suspense, then you'll love waiting to see if they actually bring you the complimentary biscuits. There was an odor to the place when you walked in. I guess because the bathrooms were right there. We enjoyed our food and the waitress was very nice. What can I say...I am a sucker for Cheddar Bay Biscuits! Our waitress was amazing I wish I remember her name. Our drinks were always filled and the basket of biscuits kept coming fresh. The food is always good when we come...a little pricey but thats understandable being that it is seafood. We had a group of 6 and 3 children and were in and out very happy within an hour during lunch on a sat. We will be back for more of those delicious biscuits! We went to Red Lobster located at Spotsylvania town center to have a nice meal with my husband, and other family members. My SIL and I decided to share a bottle of Moscato. They brought out a bottle by Barefoot, a wine that anyone can get anywhere for $5.99 easy. When we got the bill, I was blown away - we were charged $37 for that bottle of wine. I paid the bill, I hadn't looked to see how much the wine would cost. I don't mind spending money on good wine, but this was a cheap bottle of wine that I paid for. I wrote to the company via their web page, still have not heard anything. The food was good, but don't buy any alcohol, it is not worth the money. I felt ripped off. read more

We came here for a late lunch. It wasn't very busy. When we walked in there was a strange odor like old mop. We were seated immediately. The waitress was very nice. The food was OK. I had the lobster tacos which I was sad to see that there was not much lobster it was more lettuce than anything else. My husband had the steak and lobster which the steak did have good season flavor. The service was very slow though. We would ask for more Ice-T she would be gone for 15 minutes. Then we asked for steak sauce for my husband's steak, she said she had a find the steak sauce...what they only have one steak sauce in the whole restaurant so about 15 minutes later we got our steak sauce and my husband"s steak is cold....grrrrrr. My wife and I tried this restaurant once a couple of years ago. The service was terrible and the food was ALL over cooked. We tried again about a year ago and the service was slightly better, but there were bits of broken shell in all my food. We just recently gave it a third chance since they went through renovations. We were seated quickly, but all the food was over cooked and the service after giving us our drinks was terrible. We love Red Lobster, but this location is an exercise in poor attention to quality. The food was disgusting. The crab cakes had some sort of corn or beans in it... Plain ole nasty. I brought my son and daughter here to celebrate and we were highly disappointed. The customer service was pretty good. For the 3 people my bill was 128.00 this included one alcoholic beverage. I can't express how disappointed i was with the food. We barely ate it and ended up going to the wawa and getting a sandwich. I still tipped the waiter 20 percent because truthfully the food wasn't her fault. Just wished she would have warned me.. I wanted to take the time to right a review for the Red Lobster in Fredericksburg VA. First, I will say that I checked the reviews before my son and I went to this particular Red Lobster. They were a little depressing but I like to check out establishments for myself. On 30 Apr, we decided to have crab legs for dinner, so why not? First, we entered the restaurant, and was greeted right way by a young lady with a tongue ring...(she was about 19-21 or s)...no big deal. She seated my son and I immediately. I looked around because some of the reviews mentioned tables that were not clean as well as dirty floors...(not the case on this night). Our waiter came to the table about 3-5 mins after we were seated, with hot bisquits in hand! He introduced himself, was very polite and very knowledgeable. He took our drink orders, and returned in no time. Mind you, I am looking at my watch, personally timing the waiter and evaluating his customer service...so far so good. After taking our meal orders, he refilled our drinks and was extremely courteous and sincere when he said, "If you have any questions, let me know; I will be right back with your meals." As promised, he returned in less than 15 mins after he took our order. I was very impressed. I told my son, he has earned a great tip! His customer service; A+, his timeliness, A+, his sincerity, A+. I have never been to any other restaurant where the waiter and staff were as on time and customer service oriented as this one.
