Wow! It's been a hot minute since I ate at Red Lobsters. I was shocked to see this location wasn't busy during lunchtime but worked out perfectly for us. I decided to order the pick three combination double order of fried shrimp and fried calms with broccoli and a loaded big potato as my sides. I did want a basic salad, but now Red lobster has it on the menu as a premium side. I asked why, and I was told they use a better grade of salad. OK! The food was just OK. I'm honestly split here with 2 and 3 stars. I went with three because the staff fixed their mistake in the end. The food was alright, however my Father unfortunately had the short end of the stick when I came to the food. Me and my Mother ordered the same food (Fish and Chips) My Father ordered "Shrimp and Scampi" and it was undercooked not once, but twice! The third time the food was moderately cooked to him. I'm not really sure what the chefs were doing when it was sent back again, an The ambiance indicates a very light atmosphere of people which, is no surprise considering that it varies on the time of day. We recently, and finally went out for lunch, and chose to go to one of our favorites, Red Lobster. The menu was paired down by a lot, but that made our choices easier. The food was amazing but the service is what I am here to speak about. Our server's name was Drew, and when I say that he was just everything, I truly mean that! Spectacular personality, and lots of it, which for me and hubby, is always great! Drew's timing and letting us know what was happening was on point, as well as fantastic timing of each of the courses, seriously five star service!!! I cannot begin to explain how awesome Drew was, he made us feel like we were all having a meal together and chatting while taking care of everyone including us. I ordered takeout at the Gastonia, Nc location. When I got home I had 1 piece of Flounder on the plate and about 15 fries. The stuffed flounder plate I got for my wife had cole slaw that smelled sour and tasted terrible. It tasted like the refrigerator went down and the slaw got warm for an extended time period. Both of these TERRIBLE SELECTIONS cost $16.99 each. I took picures of the plate with 1 piece of fish and the few fries. I also took a picture of the receipt in case they are in doubters out there. He was very attentive and courteous. Five stars right there. The food was very good, certainly better than what one reviewer had called "fast food seafood ". Management and customers be aware there is a waitress with stick fingers. Her name is Marieta. Diners if you pay by gift or credit card, double check your statement. On the receipt, as usual I wrote zero in capital letters because I gave Marieta a cash tip. On the next visit there, I was surprised when I was told I didn't have enough. When I investigated, I saw where Marieta gave herself a 22% tip (without my authorization) even though I had given her a cash tip. The last few visits she's been my waitress and I had noticed the kiosk weren't on the table like they had previously been. Came here for a weekday lunch. Wow! What a difference in service than in the city! (Charlotte/Pineville) The server was friendly, fast, and attentive. The food was very delicious as well. I'm happy there is a large variety of food available on the lunch menu at lower than dinner prices. I had the Sailor's Platter which is fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, and broiled flounder. It came with a side and salad, and I chose mashed potatoes and Caesar salad. The fried shrimp were "new" style crispy shrimp, not the traditional Walt's Favorite Shrimp that I'm used to. I'm disappointed that the seafood stuffed flounder has been discontinued and I plan on contacting corporate about that. Overall a great visit with excellent service and great food. read more

Pretty building with ample parking & interior was very clean. We were greeted & seated promptly. Our server, Kim, was quick to get our drink & appetizer order, then left us to peruse our menus & decide on our entrees. Hubby chose the Admiral's Feast & I wanted the maple glazed chicken. Everything was brought out in a very timely manner & nothing disappointed. Hubby couldn't finish all his food, so he brought his leftovers home for later. I pretty much wiped my food out. That glaze on the chicken was downright delicious & I've already done an internet search to try to find a copycat recipe. If anyone is interested, it's a maple-cherry glaze & it's yummy. Our server was awesome, food was delicious, atmosphere was pleasant. I started off with a blackberry bourbon smash and my wife had a mango martini. Perfect. I mean very well constructed cocktails. Next came the cheddar biscuits. Gud Lawd. We could have eaten a dozen. I had the dual lobster tails, baked potato and broccoli. She had skewered scallops, coconut shrimp, mashed potatoes, and a side Caesar salad. Mum insisted! She has had it in Canada and loved it! I've only ever been to a red lobster once before, many years ago in Cleveland, OH! First thing I noticed when I sat down was this musty disturbing smell!! I have a very sensitive sense of smell and it was unbearable! Here for my nephews birthday as my family and particularly him, loves seafood. He is a crab leg fan. There was plenty of parking. They walked in first and were waiting when I came inside. The wait was short and we were seated accordingly. Our waitress was courteous and attentive. She fulfilled several requests before even ordering the entrees. Table of 7! The food came out within a descent time so we were happy with that. I got sides: baked potato (plain), broccoli, rice pilaf and the asparagus. They were all on point! The asparagus was definitely my favorite. I also ordered the peach iced tea and it was delicious. A little on the sweet side but ok with the ice. They all got seafood, well except for my daughter who got the mac and cheese with orange slices. I gave her some of my asparagus. She says "it was good". The food was great! That's the only positive. What we got to eat of it. The waitress, April, kicked us out. Literally. She told the table next to us she's been sick with a stomach virus the last 3 days ( this is after she brought our food). Then she immediately came over and asked us to cash out after only just getting our food. I'd literally taken 3 bites. I was so taken aback. We had to ask for boxes and they were filled to the top bc we were still eating. My husband ordered crab legs. How well do you think those will taste tomorrow!?Then April watched me sign the ticket and checked the ticket after I handed it back for what I assume was the tip. Could the manager or another waitress not have taken our table? I'm glad we weren't celebrating anything. Or heaven forbid want dessert. I was livid.
