Quality of food and the service has gone so far down hill that we will not be coming back to this establishment. When asking the waitress about the portion sizes when it came to the fish and chips entree. She seemed more annoyed than anything, when we asked if the meal came with three pieces of fish and not just two pieces (the pieces of fish were more batter than fish). She came back to the table ten minutes later more annoyed with the fact that we were correct, but don't offer this. Without another word she walked away. Crab southwestern tacos were in one word.... disgusting. I couldn't even finish one of them fully. The food was also cold when it came to the table. I was not willing to ask any other questions to our waitress just because of her attitude. It's official, we won't be coming back. The food options and quality have never been that spectacular, but have consistently gone downhill over the last year-and-a-half. They only offer Caesar salad for a dinner salad, yuck, the most boring salad ever. Today we spent $125 for a subpar meal and drinks. You would think a seafood place would know how to cook crab. My side of crab that was $10 was over-boiled with water running all over out of the legs. I am not a big seafood fan so I tend to make it to Red Lobster once every 10 years or so. We went recently to celebrate the wife's birthday and the visit justified why once every 10 years is plenty. When we got to the restaurant i noticed it was looking worse for wear, it looks like they have not rehab-ed the place since I was there last. They walked us around to a room near the back which seemed like a good deal, someplace away from the crowds and noise...well not so much. Unfortunately they sat us next to an employee eating at the Lobster on his day off. Even worse, he was a very popular guy and every employee had to come visit him and stay and talk at full volume for way too long, we never got a break from the stream of annoying employees during the entire visit. Service for us was less than stellar, we got an occasional visit from our waitress as she made her way to the neighboring table to chat up her buddy. Food made its way out and it was OK, which for the price we paid is not a good thing. I had limited options as a person that does not like seafood. I ended up with a chicken dish that fill the void but I could have found better elsewhere with little effort. The wife got a seafood platter with two shrimp dishes and and a lobster dish. I came here with my family rather late. It took us about 20 mins to get a seat despite that there were clearly open tables. I ordered their 4 course meal, which I was pretty excited about. I got a "fresh salad" which was anything but fresh. It was very clearly iceberg lettuce and super bland. I also got a clam soup, which was ok. My food was all just "ok" for 15.99. Overall the food was cooked very poorly, the broccoli was dry and had black dots on it. My whole group was very very dissatisfied and agreed with my thoughts. I can't in good conscious recommend this to a foodie, or even a human with a tongue. Harsh words but true. Maybe it was due to being in a landlocked area Layton. We ordered the Lobster Fest comes with two sides, we wanted soup as 1 of the sides, the clam chowder was cold and watered down not as thick as it has been in the past, the waitress charged us $5.95 for the soup. My wife ordered a salad as 1 of the sides and we were charged $1.95. The lobster fettuccine was cold, and the cedar biscuits were cold. Service and food was the best. Our waitress Lisa was very personable, attentive and informative of the menu and specials. I had the Lobster Scampi, tons of lobster meat. No meat substitutes either, all lobster pieces you can recognize from all parts of the lobster. That impressed me. My hubby and I are leaving feeling full, the lunch portions were perfect. We usually dine in but through COVID I'm glad they offered delivery through dash. We ordered everything and anything on the menu. The seafood was good, the Alfredo was creamy and delicious. The best compared to other chains. My boys said they enjoyed it so much cause each bite had shrimp or lobster in it. A very good ratio. Upon delivery every thing was well packed. Easy to tell what was what and who it belonged to. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. I even ordered the wave chocolate cake. Bomb! My mom was happy! It was for her birthday. The whole cake! Yes like 14 pieces! It was cool!! But they truly delivered a great meal from the lobster pizza appetizer, cheddar bay biscuits to the shrimp trio, lobster tails, coconut shrimp, crab and shrimp alfredos! All to be enjoyed at home. We had a good experience here last night. It was a Saturday so seating was about a 45 minute wait. We put ourselves on the waiting list online while we got ready at home so by the time we got there we didn't have to wait. They were busy so there was a lot of wait time in between drink refills, biscuits, etc. We all got the ultimate feast. There was a lot of different options to choose from. Even the tank lobsters could be singing praises! Upon entry to the restaurant we were greeted promptly by the little critters as they waltzed about in their surprisingly clean habitat. I've owned a goldfish. I know how nasty those tanks can get. Image the upkeep on a fleet of raving lobsters! They didn't have a table immediately ready, but they notified us as such and kept true to their word that one would be ready in a moment. Which was fine by me--the lobster dance-off kept me well entertained. After "a moment" we were ushered to our table. Nice and clean. No problems. I love the nautical ambiance by the way! The place seemed a bit busy but the amazing staff handled it well. They don't have Italian salad dressing, but the Champaign vinaigrette nearly slapped me upside the head with a How-could-you-be-thinking-Italian-at-a-time-like-this. Really, surprisingly tasty. I don't ever make reviews but this is definitely my fiance and I new favorite place for date night. Even when they seated us they asked if we were celebrating anything (probably ask everyone) but they genuinely seemed to care what we said. We called ahead to get on the wait list but still got there 10 minutes late and they were totally chill about it. Our server was the best. Probably the best. I usually know I like them when I can remember there name but this server had a unique name and was Asian and I felt bad trying to say his name but he was amazing. If I can next time I would even for him again. We ended up sharing our meal but as a good server he even seemed genuine when trying to get us to get more. It was a smaller amount but we definitely filled up! The restaurant was clean and we didn't wait long for our food. We maybe waited 15 minutes for food. Haven't been to a Red Lobster in a long time but I felt like seafood and this was near my hotel. I got the Admirals Feast and when it came out it was nothing like the menu pictured. Most of the food was overcooked and very greasy. The biscuits were so dry that they would have been inedible without a drink to accompany them. The ONLY menu item that I enjoyed was the salad. The only negative was that I think the clam chowder which was very good, should have came out before the main course but it was served the same time. My baked potato was almost forgotten also. My husband took me here tonight -- he's been trying for 19 years. It is New Years Eve and we didn't mind the wait because we just waited in our car. The waitress was polite and kept our cups filled! ..... my appetizer came out cold, they didn't give my husband his chowder he ordered, they ran out of the shrimp I ordered and one of the things my husband ordered on the pick 3. He loves seafood and was so excited to take me here. His fish was dry, scallops were cold. My little shrimp and fries should've been a kids meal. He was so disappointed and gave his meal a D-, because he did enjoy his baked potato and salad. Service was incredibly slow, but at the same time they were packed to the brim with people. The host and waitress I was acknowledged by were both very nice and professional. The food was also really over-priced, in my opinion. I know seafood is usually always more, but even non seafood items like burgers or chicken tenders were over the $12 mark. The food tasted good! I got the shrimp sirloin plate. Sirloin was a little cool, but I devoured it before it had any time to cool further. Shrimp was kinda chewy. Buuuut, I got food poisoning. Real bad, too. I tried contacting the manager about it but nobody picked up. And, by looking at the other reviews, I can deduce that food poisoning is a common occurrence here. Had a fairly decent meal and with a very nice waitress. The draft beer selection absolutely stinks though. They only offer two different unfiltered wheat beers and bud light. The only other option was bottled beers that weren't even priced on the menu. (I imagine what would be quadruple the price of what you would find in the store. My meal could have been great if I had a draft beer that was dark or amber. Why would you have your customers be forced to between two beers that are essentially the same and one that is basically formaldehyde? I told the waitress that whoever made this decision, obviously doesn't drink beer. And what's worse, then said he actually did. I then said, he shouldn't be in charge of those decisions anymore. I would be giving more stars for my rating, but a big MEH for the lacking draught selection. read more

Front desk girl and some other guy had a whispering convo, looked at us, then went somewhere. 30 minutes later no one told us a table was ready then we left. Maybe short of staff? It's all about the cheddar biscuits and the all you can eat shrimp deal that prompted us to come here. I have a thing for fried shrimp and not the coconut kind. This is a step up from what you can get at the Sizzler with their "all you can eat shrimp"... This location is deceiving in size. It is ginormous. Again, some things are hit an miss food wise and it is a chain, but Layton is full of chain restaurants, just about everything I can think of except for Cheesecake Factory or Panera. Service here is always friendly and for a go-to know what we like (mostly the biscuits) we have eaten here on at least two of the 3 trips we have made to the area. Another PSA for folks eating in restaurants in Utah or Arizona or many many other states-tip your servers generously IF you receive good service. Food servers make a pittance in actual wages (something like $2.40-$4.00 per hour) so they really depend on their tips and should work for them. 3 stars really for the fact it is a chain and the fourth is because we have had great servers here. read more

I have always been puzzled about how the Market Street restaurants got to be so popular? I may receive a lot of flack for this... But I believe Red Lobster serves better product than the aforementioned establishment. Granted, the service at Red Lobster ALWAYS leaves something to be desired, and the prices are a bit steeper than I'd like... But their Parmesan crusted tilapia delivers. Consistently. Plus, who doesn't love the cheddar bay biscuits?! So yes, I realize it's a chain. And that I might as well say that it's sister franchise, the Olive Garden, is authentic Italian! For the record, there's no way I'd ever nominate OG for any awards!!! But I will stand behind my assessment: that Red Lobster is decent seafood (for a land-locked state like ours, anyway). read more

I love Red Lobster...so much it made me sick. For real...this Red Lobster made me sick. Sometimes this Red Lobster is easy to miss...it is right next to the freeway and is somewhat tucked away. We went here for my birthday last year because I love Red Lobster. They had just introduced their "Wood-Fire Grilled" items. I ordered my regular shrimp but with a steak as well. I was not completely sold on ordering steak from Red Lobster but I went ahead and did it anyways. The service was awesome but my steak had real issues. I ordered it medium and it ended up coming out pretty darn rare. I nicely asked if she could have it cooked a little more which our waitress was more than happy to do. When my steak came back a second time it was still almost as rare but just cooked more on the outside. I decided I might as well just eat it and enjoy my dinner. I had to call in sick the next day to work. True story. I have gone back here since...I just would never order the steak again...I guess that is what I get for ordering steak from a seafood place. I wish I could remember what we all had because is was all really good except my coconut shrimp it seemed like it was the frozen kind and the sauce was too much. The tortilla soup was great, nice and hot and not too spicy. My friends crab and shrimp was done just right. My other friends dinner she said was really good also. There was just one glich. It took them 10 min. to seat us and I don't know why because there were open tables we could see. The wait staff was pretty good too, and they have almost finished the remodel. This particular Red Lobster was very, v-e-r-y, slow. Not sure why, the restaurant wasn't crowded, and yet the hostess struggled seating people efficiently. We waited about 20 mins on a weekday... ... ... When seated, our server took our orders right away, but offered us items that weren't options. After waiting about 15 minutes, she came back and told us that we needed to reorder. Why did this realisation take so long? We ended up waiting about another 15-20 minutes for our food to finally arrive. It felt longer though. Dining was okay. We weren't attended to much. Our server didn't return to pickup the extra plates that started to clutter our tables, and she never refilled our drinks - maybe once - during the whole time eating. Food was decent not fantastic. Came in on a Sunday afternoon for dinner with my parents. We had a delicious meal all across the board. More importantly, however, as someone who's worked in the service industry for 10 years in both New York City and Los Angeles, I very much appreciate servers who provide a fantastic experience. It's not easy to do. Our server, Rachel, was top-notch from start to finish. She was extremely pleasant and warm; she provided several helpful suggestions, guiding our choices to what we wanted, saving us combing through the menu. It wasn't even busy for that kind of treatment to be excusable. Our server was quite nice and I didn't have anything to say. We ordered some appetizers and the mussels were so salty~~ it was hard for some of us to eat it without grabbing us some plain bread to balance all the salt. They quickly filled a second basket of biscuits for our table, made sure we were happy with our drinks and food!
