We visited the Red Lobster in Lee's Summit MO on 08-03-2026 about 2:40 pm. The greeter asked how many and we said we had three and we would prefer a booth. He asked if a half and half table was okay where half of the "booth" is a booth seat and half is two seats n the aisle at the table. We said we preferred a regular booth but if that was all they had it would be fine. We were kind of surprised when we entered the dining area as there were only people sitting at two other half and half tables (same row as us), but there were multiple (at least 18 that I could count from our seat) regular booths, some right across from our half and half booth with no one in them. Anyway, not the best experience but we were okay as I must sit in a booth due to medical concerns so took the booth portion of the half and half. Thankfully the booth situation was the only downside to our entire visit. Our group consisted of my wife, me, and a guest we had visiting from Colombia. After being seated our server Desiree introduced herself and asked if we would like something to drink, if we wanted to start with a starter appetizer) and if we had any questions about the menu. We ordered three waters and all three of us had the Monday Daily Special of Endless Shrimp which includes four options: garlic shrimp scampi, shrimp linguine alfredo, coconut shrimp, Walt's favorite shrimp. Each comes with one side which is not unlimited. For the first order you can get three of the four shrimp options. For successive orders you can order one at a time. If you re-order the garlic shrimp scampi and are on a limited time, be aware that dish takes the longest to prepare and begin to the table, about 7-8 minutes - worth the wait but a possibly important point for some in a hurry. All other options came out within about 3-4 minutes of re-order. My wife and I each started with the garlic shrimp scampi, shrimp linguine alfredo, walt's favorite shrimp, with broccoli for the side. All of the shrimp dishes were delicious. The scampi was sitting in a nice oblong bowl of garlic butter and was not greasy, and the dish was hot as was the scampi. The linguine was cooked perfectly and the alfredo was better than at some Italian style restaurants. Walt's shrimp came with a nice tasting cocktail sauce. The platter came with a lemon wedge. The broccoli was steamed perfectly providing a tender but not mushy bunch of florets, about nine florets on my platter. My wife's evaluation of her platter was the same, all perfect and delicious. Our guest had the same three types of shrimp to start, and selected fries for his side. He also enjoyed all of the shrimp and said his fries were nicely crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Desiree came by every few minutes to see if we wanted to order any more shrimp and to check on waters. She was very good at keeping up with the tables in our row, maintaining a personal and business approach while being friendly and not rushed. There was no feeling on our part that there was any hesitation regarding any re-orders of shrimp. It felt like they were (at least Desiree) happy when you ordered more. We had additional orders of the various shrimp selections and also had the coconut shrimp as one of the re-orders. The coconut shrimp had a nice light spice to it which nicely complemented the sweetness of the coconut. It came with a side of sauce that did not taste like mayonnaise-anything but was a nice, slightly sweet, almost tropical white based sauce. Nice flavor and did not taste heavy. When it was time to pay, Desiree brought the ticket to the table, it as clear and easy to read. It has suggested tips on that include tax on the meal items as well as the tax, so be aware if using the suggestions. No reason to tip a tax. We tip based on service so servers actually do. better with us doing that anyway, if we used the erroneous suggested tips places like this use that include tax, it seems unauthentic on the part of the business. Payment was easy, they take cash, gift cards, or credit cards and there is no extra charge for credit cards. We enjoyed our meal and thanked Desiree for being an excellent server. Our experience will likely cause us to visit again next the future. My wife and I agreed the food was much better than the last time we were there. read more

Searching for a spot to dine on Christmas was like searching for a needle in a haystack. (We were traveling for the holiday) Lo and behold, Red Lobster was open. Signage indicates they weren't accepting walk in diners. What? I attempted to make reservations through Open Table. No matter what time I selected, after putting in all my info, was informed the time wasn't available. My daughter lucked up and booked through Google for an 8:30 seating. Cane back at 8 and we're seated immediately. Restaurant wasn't busy at all. Server was attentive. Food was good. Had to ask server for additional cheddar biscuits twice. She finally brought them once we were finished eating. Daughter got a seafood boil-spicy. It was verrry spicy. Almost too spicy and she's a fan of spice. My Bourbon smash was really good. Appreciate that they were open especially for travelers like us on the holiday. read more

The smell in the restaurant is the only huge negative for me. It smells like a toilet in there. This may be why they don't have many customers. I don't typically leave reviews -- I don't have the time or desire to. But this experience was bad enough that I'm writing this an hour and a half after leaving the restaurant. We arrived at 5:30pm and were seated quickly since there were only two other tables in the restaurant. Unfortunately, that's where the positive part of the experience ended. We waited about 10 minutes before being greeted. We ordered two sirloin and lobster combos. The server asked if we wanted sirloin or filet, even though the menu only listed sirloin. When I asked the difference -- including ounces and price -- she said she didn't know and stood there until I asked her to go find out. Not a great start. Our entrées arrived before the salads (which she admitted she forgot). The steaks were extra rare instead of medium rare. When I mentioned it, she placed the plates on a nearby table and took another table's drink order before bringing them back to the kitchen. The lobster was cold and mushy -- so much so that my kids, who had been excited about it, wouldn't eat it. The fries were good, but the rest was underwhelming. After the steaks were returned, no one checked on us. We asked for boxes and the check. It took a while to pay, nothing was pre-bussed, and I had to ask the host if we could settle the bill. The server then hovered awkwardly while I signed. Originally, I wasn't going to say anything, but the experience sat so poorly with me that I called and spoke with the manager Stephanie when I got home. I received excuses instead of solutions or any attempt to rectify the situation. I was even told the server would be there until 9:00pm if I wanted to call back with additional "pointers" for her -- which was just as disappointing as the meal itself. I could not tell you how the food was as we were seated with a menu and no one ever came back. We sat there for half an hour, no one acknowledged that we were even there. No one brought us water or took our order. When we got up and walked out no one even asked why we were leaving. Frustrating thing, there were only four other tables, so not busy at all. Won't be coming back. It's sad as this used to be one our favorite restaurants before they declined. Won't be coming back. Yelp asked me what could improve, lol. Absolutely horrid experience. I don't even know where to begin. The food came out looking like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. Dry, overcooked, and completely flavorless. The lobster was rubbery, the shrimp were tough, and even the biscuits which are usually the saving grace tasted stale. Nothing tasted fresh or remotely worth the price. We recently went to Red lobster and were turned away, so we decided to try it again at an earlier time. I got the crab legs, my daughter got the sirloin and crab topping, my grandson got chicken tenders. None of my daughter's food came out right. We didn't mention anything because it was taking so long to get things (30 minutes for ranch). It took an hour+ to get our food. My crab leg clusters tasted funny. We had about 3 previous meals at this Red Lobster where the service was not good at all & we were hesitant to return but I'm happy that we decided to give it another try! I admired how hard the employees worked in please other customers surrounding the restaurant that was visible to me. They were extremely short staffed one server was training another with two party tables on top of her regular section. Everyone's food managed to come hot and ready. I was really impressed! Ate at the Red Lobster in Lees Summit, Mo. Unfortunately the only good thing about the visit was our server. Believe the general manager was Stephanie. There were 11 of us celebrating 4 birthdays. I understand that we were a large party. However I don't understand how it took an hour to get our food and 50% of the lobster was raw. Three people got sick and none of us could eat they did try to remake it but when people get sick kinda hard to eat it. Have emailed corporate office. I am interested to know how they handle when someone gets food poisoning because according to Stephanie it doesn't happen that quickly. I am however impressed that Red Lobster has medical professionals as managers. Never ever have I had a manager act as she did. Be very careful ordering food here. This is a carry out order review! Grabbed a couple meals for my people since they enjoy the coconut shrimp here. I decided on the Cajun Chicken Alfredo and it actually was good! I thought it was a hefty amount especially for a lunch special. It was seasoned well and the sauce was thick and creamy! The biggest downfall was the soggy biscuits.... We went in at 2 pm only a couple times occupied in restaurant. A hostess was behind the desk with a broom. She didn't greet us or smile. Asked how many, 2. Said it would be 15 minutes! One lady was all ready waiting. We drove 20 minutes to be there so we decided to wait. She had zero social skills and acted as if she didn't want customers. So less than 5 minutes she took us to our table. We had wonderful service. She had 3 tables. We saw 2 others servers for 8 total tables. Food & biscuits were exceptional. Food timing was great! Let me start with saying I don't actually eat seafood, we came here with family and they were wanting lobster so we ended up here. But have no FEAR because there is chicken and steak on the menu haha so we were safe. I'll only speak on what I had to eat: I ordered the Filet Mignon cooked medium and steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. The steak was pretty decent, it wasn't as "medium" as I would have liked but it was pretty good. I ended up pairing it with some A1 sauce. The steamed broccoli was great it was lightly seasoned and I squeezed a lemon on it and added a little salt (yummm) and lastly the mashed potatoes were homemade as is literally mashed potatoes. We had a party of 5 and the restaurant was packed however it took less than 20 minutes for everything to come out & our orders were all correct. Our waitress was really sweet, she checked on us throughout the entire meal and remained super cheerful even though the restaurant was full of people. Our family ordered the salmon, shrimp, lobster, and some other items from the sea haha and while I didn't try their dishes, at the end of the meal we all had happy plates. This was a win for us. Tonight my son wanted to take me out to eat because he was so excited for Mother's Day. He asked me where I wanted to go & regretfully I chose Red Lobster. I knew it would be a mad house given the holiday, but I didn't expect the terrible service we received. We were sat around 6:00pm, greeted about 15 minutes later. I felt bad for our waitress because I could hear the table behind us getting upset. She grabbed our drink order (we also added in an appetizer of the Lobster artichoke dip) & she disappeared. About 10 minutes later another served appeared with our drinks. We waited.. & waited.. & waited, until finally our server came back. She asked if we were doing okay (completely forgetting we hadn't ordered yet). We looked at her & asked if she was ready for our order & she said "yeah that's what I was asking"... We gave our order, my husband ordered the dragon shrimp, I got the 6oz surf & turf & our 5yo got the Kids Macaroni. I subbed my salad for a cup of soup & requested biscuits. About 30 minutes later we were brought our appetizer, along with our entrees ... (what was the purpose of the appetizer ???) ... also where was my son's macaroni ? No soup either... Once our food was dropped (by someone other than our waitress) she vanished. My son was crying that he was hungry so I gave him half of my steak & mashed potatoes so we could start our meal. 10 minutes later his Mac arrives glossed over and cold to the touch. We tried to flag down the girl who dropped it but she left so quick. We sat there for 20 minutes without a soul. No refills (my husbands mouth was on fire from his dragon shrimp)... Still no biscuits, no soup. Our waitress reappeared one final time to collect our dishes & I practically begged her to take my card so we could leave. I've never had such crap service, nor felt the need to actually complete a customer survey. The manager was actively walking around, but it seems he avoided our section- we requested to talk to him through one of the other waitresses in passing... that never happened. I almost always enjoy this Red Lobster more than the Independence location but this time we had a rough start, we had to wait almost 5 minutes in the aisle in front of 4 empty tables for someone to clean one for us. Why couldn't we sit at one of the already clean tables? I have no idea. But things got better after that, our server was very friendly and quickly got our drinks and app out. The Tuna Poke was delicious! Crab was awesome as usual - I'm not sure who brought me the smallest amount of butter I'd ever seen but our server soon brought us out more.
