To give context, I placed a Togo curbside order. I got there 5 minutes before my scheduled time and notified them I arrived. I met a friend and her son for an early dinner prior to her parent/teacher conference. At 4:30, a line was already forming. We were seated promptly, but they were starting a list of names behind us. It's a chain restaurant owned by Dardano. It's predictable. It's the same decor and food, no matter what state you are in. It used to be a go-to for me when I was traveling because you knew exactly what you were going to get. It's never outstanding and rarely horrible. Just predictable. No one that is truly a connoisseur of fresh seafood goes out of their way to go to Red Lobster. Large seating capacity. Good for large groups, especially multi-generational. I know this Yelp review is long overdue, for as long as we have been going here, I really don't think we have ever had a bad experience at this location. We decided to go during endless Shrimp for my wife's birthday, although she didn't have endless shrimp, but I sure as hell did. As usual the wait staff was great, and we had the pleasure of having Luis L., as our waiter. We're the type of crowd/family that always intermingles with our wait staff, and we try and make it a pleasurable experience. Because as well all know, and have been there at one point in time or another, it's not easy pleasing everyone, especially the general public. Well, this time we had Luis L., and he was a character and a half. He was very interactive with our group, and he was giving it back, as much as he was taking it. He wasn't afraid to give it right back, which made the night a memorable night, especially since we were celebrating my wife's birthday. I would have given this location 4 stars but.. well, here goes. If you order club soda because you like water with bubbles, just know they will charge you a Sprite. I have been to many establishments where club soda=water as far as cost. So you can imagine my surprise when I saw a 2.89 charge for my club soda. Our server was nice and kind, we saw her enough that I wouldn't criticize service. I don't know how big her section was. I wish she would have acknowledged the biscuit situation though, because I kept asking for them and she kept bringing out 2 at a time. Maybe this is new protocol? I've been to other locations and had wasn't the case. The food was good, albeit very salty. I had the cedar plank lobster and shrimp. Everything was prepared well and I was happy with the dish. My partner and I normally have great experiences here but not today. We came in for the ultimate unlimited shrimp because it's the kid's favorite and it's a treat for when he does well in school. We've been in several times rewarding th child this way. To begin with, our server Tanna, was nice enough and got our drinks out in a timely manner but that was the only thing on time in the evening that. Our food took forever to come out, which I know isn't the server's fault but it was still frustrating. The manager confirmed that leftovers were allowed but refills weren't after boxes were dropped. That makes complete sense and what we were expecting. When our server came back we ordered one more round of grilled shrimp because the kid decided he wanted more (he had his own meal but he likes to share our grilled shrimp.) She brought the refills and made another comment about how sharing is not allowed with someone who didn't get the deal but since he was a kid, she would let it pass. That final comment solidified our sour mood for the night. He's 5 years old and likes to eat shrimp. We got him his own meal and let him pick off our plates. Her comment was unnecessary and solidified her 15% tip. Let me share the tale of the worst meal I've eaten, on Fathers Day or any day: The order was their Surf and Turf option as I hadn't had lobster in years and was still craving steak: Steak is tougher than shoe leather. After you chew one bite down, you have to spit out a wad of gristle. On EVERY bite. I managed two before giving up. Lobster was cold. Had to reheat in the microwave to eat. We ordered the Cauliflower Au Gratin and the taste was great but the cauliflower could have been cooked a little longer. It was super crunchy still. The flavors are just okay everytime I come and most of the time it's during endless shrimp season. The deal itself is great! Unlimited shrimp for only $17! Easily will satisfy your shrimp craving and get your money's worth in the end since you can choose usually among 5 different otpions. Service has never been a problem and your seated in a low light ambience. Light butter biscuits are provided as well. Now as a grown up, it's become a pretty regular establishment. The food here is mediocre. Nothing too outstanding or great. The latest remodel of the place is soothing and low-key, but they strategically placed track-lighting so you can still see your food, altogether, a very nice effect. I would have been better off ordering the dinner portion for a couple of extra dollars. I would note that lunch does come with salad and a side dish. Our server Holly was courteous but didn't seem like she truly enjoyed her job. She did provide refills in a timely manner and made sure we had enough of the cheddar bay biscuits.
