Week day visit with no wait. Pro tip: Use Yelp to place your name on weekend wait list. Table was clean, not sticky. I opted for breakfast at lunch. The eggs were cooked perfectly, exactly, as I ordered. Sweet cream pancakes were huge (dinner plate sized). Turkey sausage was not a flavor that I enjoyed. Cold and over cooked at the same time. Service was slow. Water glasses sat empty. Our waitress was kind but preoccupied. She would fill one of two empty water glasses, slip behind the counter to eat, etc. I felt bad that we interrupted her break. Hashbrowns were crispy but cold on both plates. The salsa on the side definitely made this an excellent sandwich. - Big Breakfast - Make sure to get Hash Browns. LARGE size. - Short Stack Pancakes - Even as a Short Stack, these pancakes are Ginormous. Added White Chocolate Chips, Brown Sugar & Cinnamon and Bacon. This is really all you need. I had the 3 scrambled eggs. You can choose 3 mix-ins and I opted out of hash browns or toast, substituting avocado and tomato slices. Finally got a chance to check this spot out and I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The place is decorated with a consistent farmhouse feel throughout and has a spacious open dining area. I had the Huevos Rancheros with scrambled eggs instead of fried and it was yummy! Our waitress, Gabriela was friendly, attentive, and answered any of our questions about the menu. After seeing the previous reviews mentioning the positive post-it's in the bathroom, I had to check it out. Such a cute idea!! I left my own, but I have to wonder how sanitary some of the post it's are, as they're paper getting wet around the sink and toilet areas. As a teenager, my friends and I frequently and understandably would get kicked out of restaurants for good reasons. That was then. Zoom ahead 30+ years ... my wife is visiting with a few friends she has not seen in a while. When they were deciding where to go they considered several things 1. Quality of food. 2. Atmosphere. 3. Pace of dining. 4. Friendliness and responsiveness of staff. They chose Red Oak Cafe in Alvin. It was Sunday morning around 9:00 they ate, talked, and caught up. About 10:30 they paid, finished their coffees, and were told to leave. Told they needed the table that there were others waiting. Meanwhile throughout the place several 4 toppers were empty, cleaned and set readily available. The Red Oakers were not nice about it either. I am considering reuniting with my hell raising crew from high school and giving them a reason to kick a party out. Needless to say Red Oak has become Red Joke and just lost four loyal local families. Just sad. read more

Had breakfast here for the first time with Mrs. Texas and a great friend of ours, who has eaten here several times. The staff is friendly and the dining area is clean. It is a Christian owned cafe and they have huge scriptures on the walls, and you can post scriptures or words of encouragement in the restrooms which is very cool. They have a good choice of items on their menu and it's reasonably priced. We all enjoyed our food very much, and you get more than enough. Went for breakfast for the first time. Joined the wait list thru Yelp, walked in and got seated right away. Was pleasantly surprised by this since it was BUSY! Our server, Linda D., was so sweet. She took great care of us, made some great recommendations and always made sure my husband's coffee cup was full even though she was slammed. My husband ordered the French toast with a side of bacon and I ordered the breakfast plate with eggs, crispy bacon, toast and hashbrowns. We shared the pancakes and they were amazing! I was skeptical since they were sweet cream pancakes but the subtle sweetness was just perfect. Our food came out promptly and just as we ordered. I can see why this place stays busy. I was lucky enough to get to attend the soft open this morning and I must say it went perfectly. Everything was 100% correct, tasted great and service was on point! I had a tall stack of blueberry pancakes. The blueberries are HUGE (see my photo) and full of flavor. Also had a side of sausage and coffee. Everything was amazing. I'd say these guys are off to a great start in Alvin. This is a very unique restaurant with a great story and a great staff. I will for sure be back! read more

The original location in League City is great, but this place is amazing! We went in for a late lunch today (around 2pm) and were seated right away. Our waitress, Delaney, was super helpful in getting us through the extensive menus. They serve breakfast and lunch all day, so there's a lot to choose from! I opted for the sampler got the egg salad sandwich, roasted turkey sandwich, chicken salad sandwich, white chicken chili, banana pudding, and banana bread. Everything was great! My favorites were the white chicken chili and banana pudding. Holy moly. The chili isn't spicy but has tons of flavor to it. The banana pudding isn't rich. It's light and fluffy and makes you want to lick the bowl clean. Their staff was over the top awesome! I overheard the manager speaking to a table near us (yes, I was eavesdropping) and he was walking them though the entire menu. It took a lot of patience I'm sure for him to do that but he took it like a champ! Way to go on your opening day, guys! We just finished eating at Red Oak Cafe for breakfast. They were quick to accommodate six guests and Linda was an excellent server and very attentative. Our group did our little table review of the food. On a scale from 1 to 10 French Toast-10, Texas Hash 9.5, basic breakfast plate a 10, tacos were an 8 ( you know how critical we Texans are of our breakfast tacos) my two scrambled eggs with onions and cheese were a perfect 10 and the breakfast sandwich waa a solid 9. Great restaurant. I am visiting Texas for a wedding and needed a place for Breakfast on a Saturday . I yelped breakfast restaurants for someplace close to the hotel and this establishment came up. I booked a reservation online for 2 people and was seated within 10min, which was amazing since the reservation was packed. The food is very good. I made a make your own omelette and my food came out quickly. It was delicious. Our waiter, Corbin, couldn't have more attentive. He checked in with us quite often - to make sure the food was good, asked us if we needed refills on our drinks and did we need anything else.
