Had a great breakfast this morning at Red Oak. My waitress Angel made sure I had everything I needed and my breakfast was perfect, she even made me a rose out of a small piece of napkin! Even brought a coffee pot out to my table. The owner is often there and always stops by to say hi. The whole staffhelps with anything you need. Great breakfast the food was great brown sugar pancakes, had a light crust on top! So good! My son had a sausage & egg panini but oddly it's not a panini it's an open face sandwich, very good nonetheless. Service was great, just quick enough. This is our go to breakfast spot . From the owner , to the staff to the food this place feels like home ! Their pancakes are what they are known for and although everything I've tried ( the Berta , any of the bfast sandwiches are all good ) I have a hard time getting anything other than the BIG breakfast, which is BIG and a little bit of everything with more than enough to share with the table . Finally got a chance to visit the Red Oak cafe for breakfast with a friend and WOW. Finally a nice breakfast/lunch place in my very own hometown. The wait staff and hosts are very friendly and attentive. I've been 3 times now and have had great success in each item I've ordered. The main entrees are definitely worth the price point (11-14 dollars per plate) but the side items can get expensive. If you go for breakfast, I suggest the Berta. It's a delightful take on avocado toast. Toast, 2 fried eggs, bacon, and roasted tomatoes with your choice of hash browns or grits. ( I got the hash browns and asked them to be extra crispy.) if you enjoy coffee, I recommend the pecan roasted coffee. The aroma alone is simply a piece of heaven in a cup. The bathroom has a cute little post it note "leave some love" type thing. Make a visit, leave a note. It's cute. All in all, great experiences and I'll defiantly be back. read more

I've been to both locations both are clean and well ran. Pancakes are so good. My mom and I ordered a bigger breakfast meal had enough food to take home for my husband to eat as well. I had never tried the biscuits and gravy but my mom added gravy to the biscuit that came with our meal. The biscuit was perfect and the gravy was on point. After having the pleasure of visiting the original location in League City several times, I am excited to have one closer to home! The decor is similar to the original, and it has it'a own twist. The "bypass 35" sign is so cool! We were headed over for our first visit to this location & checked yelp for estimated wait times. There was a 15-37 minute wait. Then I saw the awesome button to be added to the waitlist! Just check-in with the host upon arrival. We were seated in 5 minutes! It was great, felt like we were skipping the line (even though we "got in line" on the way over!). The host said that not many people know or take advantage of the mobile check in option. Food was great as usual! I ordered the bacon berta open-faced sandwich. Delish!! My bf had the two-egg breakfast and added another egg. Juices are priced right at $2.25 for a mason glass. I will ask for a little ice in my OJ next time. They have the "good ice" if you know what I mean! Alvin and the area are lucky to have this location of the best breakfast place!! read more

I love the spirit of kindness the ambiance spreads but the food is not at all desirable. Sorry. I didn't say "all food" I said "not at all" But I brought a family member here in February that was visiting from out of town. She ordered the Texas hash with jalapeño gravy. It was sent back as it was missing several items. And to be honest, The table next to us also sent his back citing it was awful. He was a stranger to me, but came in with his elderly parents and bonded with out table about how much he did not enjoy the Texas Hash. The server stated that several have been sending it back that day and that he was going to discuss the item with the kitchen because something needed to be adjusted. I admire your will to accept constructive criticism and to better your business. I wish you luck as it is nicely decorated and the bathroom art is inspiring. read more

The holy grail of Yum!! A cafe in Alvin? Oh my goodness yes. The atmosphere is clean and contemporary with hints of Texan charm. I highly doubt you could go wrong with any of the innovative items on the menu (pancakes over 10 different ways, vegetarian options, keto, and the classics) but my breakfast was beyond perfection. She was so kind and not rushed despite being busy. We got seated and were waited on by Jackson, also a very pleasant and sweet guy. He remembered my brother who had only been there once before! Recalled his order- now thats impressive. Food was excellent and plentiful and just a really nice vibe. Last stop was the restroom and Wow! what an inspiring place. Super cute little place we tried after a pumpkin patch! Want to come back and try their breakfast, as I see this is probably what they serve the best! Kid friendly and easy parking which makes anything nice! My friend loved their chicken and dumplings. My adult grilled cheese was ok but could be more flavorful and not so dry. Week day visit with no wait. Pro tip: Use Yelp to place your name on weekend wait list. Table was clean, not sticky. I opted for breakfast at lunch. The eggs were cooked perfectly, exactly, as I ordered. Sweet cream pancakes were huge (dinner plate sized). Turkey sausage was not a flavor that I enjoyed. Cold and over cooked at the same time. Service was slow. Water glasses sat empty. Our waitress was kind but preoccupied. She would fill one of two empty water glasses, slip behind the counter to eat, etc. I felt bad that we interrupted her break. Hashbrowns were crispy but cold on both plates.
