04/16/26 The food and service were exceptional. We ordered and shared the bison burger and the elk chop. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. We were on a trip celebrating our anniversary and we were offered complimentary dessert to help us celebrate after dinner. Even though we were stuffed, we took our waiter up on his offer. I enjoy trying small batch local ice cream and our server took the time to go find out where the ice cream was made. He let us know that the ice cream was from Salt Lake City and I settled on getting the Huckleberry ice cream - it did not disappoint. The limoncello ricatta cheesecake was equally delicious. We had a reservation for 7pm and ended up being ready for dinner much earlier. I didn't see a way to change our reservation so I just made a new one for 5:15pm with no problem. It was just after 5 and I had no issues making a new reservation online. We did see several people come in and get turned away since they did not have a reservation. They were told the next reservation was not until 8pm. The restaurant was pretty much empty and there were quite a few tables still open when we were leaving. We enjoyed our meal and had no issues, but it does seem like you need to make a reservation and the best way is online and not through the hostess. read more

We recently dined at the Red Rock Grill at Zion Lodge and had mixed feelings about the experience. We ordered the elk chop, bison burger, and bean burger. The burgers themselves were actually good -- the bison burger was flavorful and thankfully not dry, which can sometimes happen with bison. The fries, however, tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. I ordered the elk chop because I had never tried elk before and was excited for the experience. Since I was unfamiliar with how elk is typically prepared, I trusted our server to guide us if needed. Unfortunately, our server -- an older gentleman with glasses and thinning hair -- seemed rushed from the start. He avoided eye contact, took our order hastily, and never once asked how I wanted the elk cooked. When the food arrived, the outside of the elk looked fine, but the center was extremely raw. At first I assumed maybe that was simply how elk is prepared. It wasn't until I overheard the table behind us ordering the same dish and being asked how they wanted it cooked that I realized we had never been given that option. I looked up elk preparation on my phone and learned it is commonly served medium rare because it's such a lean meat. I called the waiter over and explained that my chop was raw in the center. He looked at it and said, "Yup, that's raw." I mentioned that he never asked how I wanted it cooked, and he offered no response or apology. He simply asked, "Anything else?" took the plate, and walked away. As he was leaving, he turned around and casually asked if I wanted another chop. At that point, the poor attitude and lack of service had already ruined the experience. My mother even commented that she felt we were treated differently. To make matters worse, when he returned with our expensive bill, he never checked on us again or even offered dessert. The food itself had potential, but the service completely overshadowed the meal. We left disappointed and wishing we had spoken to a manager before leaving. But wilL never visit this establishment again. There's other option. It was convenience since we were staying inside Zion lodge. We dined with them on May 23 at 745 pm reservation we eat inside since they were closing the outside at 8 pm. read more

Had a reservation to dine here on April 3, 2026, and what we experienced upon arrival was shocking, blatant hostility and unprofessional behavior from the hostess (who later identified herself as a manager). When we checked in, Ali (she was not wearing a name tag so I'm unsure about the name spelling. I found out her name from another staff) immediately told us, dismissively and with visible annoyance, that we did not have a reservation. I showed her the confirmation on my phone, but she refused to accept it and said that because it wasn't on her computer, there was "nothing she could do." I was traveling with 3 small children, staying at the lodge, and this was the only dinner option in the park. I asked Ali to please check again, and instead of helping, she loudly yelled at me to step aside so she could assist other guests. What made the situation even more upsetting was that she proceeded to help the white families behind us without issue, while continuing to dismiss and raise her voice at me. When I approached again, she again told me, very loudly and publicly, to step aside and repeated that there was nothing she could do. I was being treated as if I had done something wrong despite having a valid dinner reservation. I then asked to speak to a manager. Ali responded, "I am the manager!!" When I asked if there was another manager I could speak to, she refused multiple times before finally saying she would check. When I asked for the other manager's name ("What is their name?), she began yelling--actually yelling in my face --"HE IS A HE, NOT A THEY! HIS NAME IS SEAN!" This was screamed at me in front of other guests and was completely inappropriate and aggressive. She stormed off and a few minutes later Sean came to assist us. I explained what had just happened. He apologized and attributed her behavior to her "having a rough day" and the restaurant being busy. He then turned the reservation screen toward me to show that my reservation supposedly wasn't there, but I immediately spotted my reservation and pointed it out. He appeared confused and suggested it might have been a "computer glitch" or that the reservation had been deleted. (I wonder who could've deleted my reservation from the computer....) We were eventually seated, but only after being yelled at, dismissed, and humiliated. I considered letting this go, but I just can't. This was the only negative experience on an otherwise wonderful family trip to Zion, and it was significant. No one should be treated this way. Regardless of how busy a restaurant is, there is absolutely no excuse for this level of hostility, nor for speaking to guests in such a demeaning and aggressive manner. Management needs to be aware: someone who treats customers this way should not be in a customer-facing role, let alone acting as a manager. I sincerely hope steps are taken to ensure no other family has to go through what we experienced. read more

Food 5/5 Every time I come here, I order the cheeseburger, it's my personal favorite. It's hearty, full of great flavor, and the perfect meal before or after a hike. I absolutely love it! Customer Service 5/5 The customer service was great. Even with the big crowds, the staff seated us quickly and remained attentive and friendly the entire time. That's a big plus for us! Ambience 5/5 The views are absolutely beautiful. Large open windows showcase the mountains and trees, making the scenery a real highlight. Wait Time 4/5 We expected a long wait because of the large crowds. We were told 45 minutes, but it ended up being only about 25-30, which didn't feel long at all. The Grill was the only open place in the park for dinner during our mid January visit. The views can't be beat in this casual, family friendly setting. The staff was lovely. The soup, cocktails and fries were good. (We found the burger and quinoa salad to be pretty oily, though, TBH.) Pricing was as expected and portions were fine. (Cocktails in Utah are a very different experience than in 'Vegas. Have your actual ID card handy to be scanned, for example.) Happy to have had a few vegetarian and vegan options. It was the hubs birthday and he was delighted with their thoughtful cheesecake treat. Patio seating available in better weather. I'll admit, I didn't have super high expectations going into the Red Rock Grill. I mean, 3-stars for a restaurant in a national park didn't exactly instill confidence. Well I'm happy to say that this place exceeded my expectations in virtually every possible way. If Red Rock Grill existed in Sacramento we would be regulars! The restaurant is located upstairs from the Zion Lodge front desk and gift shop, and features plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It doesn't offer any spectacular canyon views, but that doesn't make the location any less beautiful. We arrived for dinner after a helluva drive that saw us having to cancel a 6pm reservation for 8:30 due to traffic earlier in the day. We ended up arriving around 7 and figured we would see if any ad hoc seating was available. There weren't a ton of servers so the host checked with one and she gladly sat us early so we didn't have to wait. Peggy was an absolute delight and had great recommendations for drinks and food! She was super attentive even with handling a bunch of tables when we sat down. We started with two tasty drinks, a Prickly Pear Mojito and the Red Rock Old Fashioned. My wife, who doesn't like most cocktails due to strong alcohol, really enjoyed the mojito. I'm a snob when it comes to old fashioneds, and I always question when a mixer adds seltzer water to what should be a straight bourbon beverage. That said, this might be one of the rare times the addition of water didn't ruin it? It would have been better without it, but it was still quite good. Before our main course we both got side caesar salads, and even though they were simple, they were delicious. For the main courses my wife got the herb rubbed chicken. Not only was it perfectly roasted and seasoned, but the portion size could have fed two people! I got a 10oz NY strip stake that was also perfectly cooked, and it only costed $23??? The veggies were delicious, but also drowning in butter (i'm not complaining but just an FYI). We also both really liked the mashed potatoes, which were a bit chunkier thanks to entire roasted garlic cloves embedded inside. They weren't too strong at all. With dinner I got the Zion Bee's Knees cocktail, and let me tell you: this was an all-timer for me. It used a local Utah gin and a local Utah honey, and it was INCREDIBLE. I'm going to look up both the gin and honey online to order some to recreate the beverage when I get home because it really was that good. Finally, to cap things off we got the Canyon Wall butterscotch coffee cocktail. I was worried this would be too sweet, but it absolutely wasn't. It balanced the different flavors perfectly, and capped off the meal well. One final note: the speed of service was unbelievable here. I've seen other reviews talking about how slow the service was, and I'm wondering if they just came on a night when a staff member was sick or something? We saw faster service here on everything, from being seated, to cocktails, to salads, to main courses, than 90% of restaurants I've been to. Virtually every time something was delivered to the table we went "wow, that was fast!" To be fair it did seem like a slower night, but hot damn was it still impressive! We're looking forward to dinner again tomorrow night, and I'll add an addendum if anything changes! read more

My sister and I ate here three times during our visit to the park. Two out of the three were excellent experiences while one (our final visit) was unfortunately unpleasant. The food was good every time, I particularly enjoyed my pancakes with the blueberry compote. Perfect fuel before a day of hiking! My sister has celiac and they were very helpful making sure her meals were gluten free. It also has to be said that the views while you eat are beautiful. Service was speedy and friendly until our last visit. That time our waiter was gruff and rude. Our food took over 30 minutes to arrive and was cold (scrambled eggs and toast and a yogurt parfait). It was clear the food had sat for a while. It was also not busy, there were a handful of other diners with many open tables. A disappointing end to our time in Zion. In the end I gave our first two experiences 5s and our final a 2, averaging out to a 4 overall. I guess I recommend the Red Rock, just know service might be a roll of the dice. read more

One of the only restaurants inside Zion National Park open during February. Lunch starts at11:30am with empty stomach and low expectations. The view from the restaurant is gorgeous, meanwhile the waitress is kind and friendly. They also have kids menu. One boy ordered the butter noodle with fruit , the food was so tasty and he finished two orders. The younger one got the Mac and cheese and French fries, it was too cheesy for him. Myself got the black bean burger with house salad, the burger was really juicy and flavorful. And the salad is really fresh. The portion is not too small or too big, just about right to me. Meanwhile, the price is reasonable. Total experience I gave it four stars due to the Mac and cheese was a little disappointing. read more

The Red Rock Grill at Zion Lodge is located upstairs in the main lobby of the Zion National Park Lodge, the only accommodation inside the park. It had elevator access in case a tairs are an issue for you. The restaurant is lined with large windows that frame the stunning red canyon walls of Zion. They've recently brought back their breakfast buffet (closed since Covid), which is priced at $17.95 for adults and $11.99 for kids. Our group happened to be the first customers to try it on its reopening day. I was even the very first guest to serve myself! The buffet offers all the typical American breakfast staples: bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes, breakfast potatoes, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, cereal, and yogurt. Everything was fresh and hot since we were first in line, which was a plus. The bacon was my favorite item (crispy and flavorful), while the scrambled eggs were my least favorite which were slightly overcooked. The biscuit also very good. It had a nice texture but the gravy was a bit too runny. Overall, it's a good, solid breakfast, but nothing particularly exciting or unique. It's the kind of meal that fuels you up before a day of hiking, but the real star here is the view. read more

Service is really slow at the beginning. It took us about 15min to be seated, and there were a lot of empty tables. No one even acknowledged our existence until we were going to be seated. We sat right at the entrance, and saw many other parties treated the same way. Even just a "hello, we'll be right with you" would go a long way. But once we were seated, service picked up. I like how they have a kids menu. My son ordered a hamburger and when his water came out, they brought a little reusable cup with a lid and straw that he's still using at home - that was a nice touch. It's his official Zion cup now :D I ordered the Zion Burger with house salad. It was really tasty. The bacon was hot and crispy. The patty was cooked perfectly, and the gouda was excellent. I loved the veggies that came on there as well. Highly recommended. We also split a molten chocolate bundt, which was delicious. The ice cream added a nice balance, and the red sauce (I think it was raspberry...?) just brought out the chocolate flavor even more. Also highly recommended. during our 2 night stay at the lodge, we had both dinner and their breakfast buffet here. in hindsight, with springdale so close, and buses running so early, i see little reason to visit, other than to have the experience of having eaten here for dinner, we tried their fried chicken sandwich, empanadas, tomato bisque and kids cheeseburger. unfortunately i can't really say anything we had would have passed muster outside the park, but for the view of deer grazing the lawn against towering red giants and the summer setting sun, it was very peaceful, and a memory we won't soon forget breakfast on the other hand, natural beauty and all, is a bit harder to recommend, as the selection was limited and on average too salty for our liking. i could see coming here post-hike and refueling with all the great basics, but that really only applies to the 6am bus crew, to make it before lunch service in summary: if it's your first time in the park and you want to soak up as much of it as you can, dinner here is one great way to do it. but if it's your second or third time, or you're looking for something gourmet to satisfy you, i'd ask you to kindly reconsider, as there are many options in springdale that will do more for you at a similar price thank you for the wonderful memories; we'll be sure to bring any and all first-timers that come with us in the future! read more

I want to love this place and give it a perfect score but they didn't seat me for a long time even though I was the only person waiting and most of the restaurant was empty. They have some vegetarian items and I got the black bean burger with fries. They didn't have fry sauce or caffeine free diet soda. The back bean burger was pretty good though I prefer impossible or beyond burgers. The view was nice and it wasn't too loud inside. The server was very friendly. The price wasn't bad considering it's in a national park. I was there in the off season so the scenic drive was open to cars and there was plenty of parking. read more

I had a really great time at the Red Rock Grill! The restaurant is in the Zion Lodge which is super convenient even if you aren't staying at the lodge itself. The food was really good, fresh, and the service was great, especially Peggy! The menu had a lot of great options, and the prices were really reasonable too, which was a nice bonus especially at a special restaurant like this that's inside the park. I had the steak and it was really really good! Just what I was looking for after not eating much all day! They also had plenty of options and substitutes for people with dietary restrictions like gluten. What really stood out, though, was the service. My server, Peggy was awesome--super friendly and really nice to talk to. We had great conversations, and a normal meal by myself became a memorable part of my day! I'd definitely recommend checking out Red Rock Grill, it was a highlight of my evening! I was staying at the Lodge and felt like eating at the Red Rock Grill was a must for experience and convenience. Ended up eating twice here back to back for dinner and breakfast. The view of the mountains out the window truly makes the dinning experience worth it. Definitely try to sit near the window or on the patio for a view. They recommend making reservations for dinner. It wasn't super busy and there were a lot of tables open, but for some reason they made us wait an extra 20 minutes past our reservation time. For dinner, I ordered the sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and veggies. I requested medium rare but it was more on the rare side. A tad bit disappointing, but didn't ruin the dish. The flavor of the steak and the sauce were delicious. I loved the mash potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the trout. The sauce was delicious and fresh. The fish was tender. I wish the skin of the fish was crispier, because it was a bit soggy. Now for dessert....the chocolate cake was perfect! We had a scoop of vanilla ice cream with our cake, with went fabulously with it. Excellent recommendation if you have a sweet tooth. For breakfast, I ordered the French toast. It was very average, boring, and not eggy enough. The service was much faster during breakfast since it wasn't as busy. Pricing for breakfast menu items were very reasonable. Overall, dinner was a 4/5 but breakfast was a 2/5. Still worth a visit to complete the Zion Lodge experience. read more

Best part about this place are the views of the canyon. I recommend sitting on the outside patio to fully enjoy it. Otherwise though, the food and service weren't great unfortunately. We were seated and our waiter immediately asked us if we knew what we wanted. We said we needed a couple minutes. After about 30 minutes he hadn't come by. I saw our waiter and talked to him and a supervisor, then one of the managers came to our table and apologized. They took our order and said they would cover an appetizer. Unfortunately there were problems with the food too. I got the half sandwich and salad, the sandwich did not have much flavor. My friend got the quinoa bowl, but they didn't put the quinoa in, so it was basically just a salad with some extra toppings. Also, the chicken on it was disappointing, didn't taste amazing or look great. They did end up covering the price of the whole meal which was appreciated. If you are hungry and don't want to leave the park, it's an option but there are better places in Springdale. read more

I think this place is underrated. If you're staying at The Lodge, definitely eat here at least once. I came here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner...and my favorite was definitely lunch and dinner. Dinner-wise, the crusted trout was delicious and the soup they had that day was really good! The dessert was pretty good too (cheesecake and we got a scoop of ice cream). For lunch, we had a chicken sandwich and a quesadilla and it was decent. That was nice to take out and eat on the grass in front of The Lodge if the weather is good. Breakfast is served buffet style and was around $10-12/person in early 2024. It was a typical hotel breakfast, so nothing too fancy...if you can take a ride out to town and check out some other places for breakfast, I'd probably recommend skipping it, but sometimes the convenience can't be beat and the buffet gives you time to fill up before hitting the trails and adventuring for the day. read more

This was by far the worst restaurant visit ever. I reserved a table for 7 on January 7, 2026 for my mother's 92nd birthday. The salmon was severely undercooked despite twice sending it back. My fish was thin and slimy. The kid's Mac and cheese was so bland, no wonder she wouldn't eat it. The steak was tough and stringy. The service was horrendous as well. I finally stacked plates on another table so we could cut the cake. The restaurant was practically void of customers, maybe 4 other tables, and yet the service was nearly non-existent. Generally friendly and efficient service. Of course a bit overpriced but they have the monopoly. The patio is nice enough if it's warm enough outside (they've got heaters going on though). We had both lunch and dinner. Skip that Navajo taco; it's not taco like. It's basically a deep dish pizza! The fish, crab cakes, and steak were alright. It's great to be able to have sit-down meals on a hiking trip. The prickly pear cocktail was unique and good! Lunch is much more limited and simpler. Solid 4 stars considering this is a hotel restaurant inside a National Park Lodge. The appetizers we ordered were delicious: the salmon cakes and the firecracker rolls. The salmon cakes had mostly only fish, were super well seasoned and were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. The firecracker rolls were delicious, with a lot of filling (chicken, corn, black beans and cheese), and came with a chipotle mayo that was to die for (made in house according to our awesome waitress). I had the salad buffet, which was solid, but some of the vegetables were a little dry, likely from being in the fridge overnight. Again, understandable since this is February at a National Park... The ambience is great because of the view. The restaurant has a privileged view of the Zion's mountains. Oh boy, I don't even know where to begin They've got you as a captive hungry audience at the park We stayed at the Lodge and my review for that was just as meh and posted on Trip Advisor Food was terrible, not even adequate and service was not welcoming and we felt like we were a bother anytime we showed up or asked about anything I don't have high expectations but dang it was bad Fresh was relative, apparently here fresh meant a week old. Fruit we had was way over ripe and not flavorful and the veggies we had at dinner looked like they should have been thrown in the compost bin Anytime we needed service our encounter was met with a scowl and never a welcoming smile and hello If you're staying at the lodge you're stuck, consider doing a fast during your time here and skip any food offerings read more

We were starving and this was convenient for a late lunch. The dining room is cozy and comfortable, the views are great, the server was very friendly, but the food was only ok. I had a grilled chicken sandwich, the chicken was well cooked, but the seasoning was a little strange. Fries were plentiful, I asked for ranch to dip and got a salad dressing packet. Husband went for the soup and salad bar, vegetable soup was good, but salad was fairly basic. Kids had a burger and mac and cheese bites. Prices were fairly reasonable, especially considering the location. There was a sign recommending reservations for dinner. read more

SEVERELY UNDERSTAFFED. Lunch service should start at 11 am, but it was delayed to 11:45 am due to being understaffed. Extremely disorganized and no way to put down names, so it was chaotic. Only 2 cooks for an entire lunch service? No take-out offered for lunch and dinner, despite advertised. The portion size was small, and the food was overly salty. Do yourself a favor and go into Springdale. Don't bother with the restaurant here. read more

An Oasis in the Park Located at The Lodge in Zions National Park is the Red Rock Grill. We planned to eat lunch there, with a nagging concern it would be so busy we would not be able to. When we did stop in after a hike, I was pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant wasn't very busy, although there was a line of several families ahead of us waiting to get in. We learned the way it worked is you order and pay before you even sit down. Menus are displayed along the line, we had plenty of time to decide. Once we ordered we were given a number to display on our table. It was nice to sit down and get cold water. It still took about 25 minutes for my Zion Cheeseburger and Veggies to arrive after we sat down. Fortunately, our drinks were kept topped off while we waited. The burger turned out to be pretty good, and it was a good size. The veggies were three giant asparagus spears. Once we finished eating we could just leave, so that was kind of convenient. read more
