From the outside, it looks like a fun establishment, inside it's an old school diner feel but food was just mediocre. The staff wasn't the most friendly or helpful when ordering, they were more busy chatting amongst themselves. Also the photos on the menu are a bit deceiving and you need to make sure to add the extras pictured because they don't come with the order. read more

I really enjoy coming here. I think it is more for the nostalgia that keeps me coming back. Oh and the owner or at least I think he is the owner is super friendly and goes above and beyond to make sure your order is always done correctly. Last time we went they messed up but it's ok it happens and I know the food is worth going back for. The shakes are amazing and the burgers remind me of the old school drive in joints I went to as a kid. If you love chili and cheese fries then this is your place! A few months ago my family went to red rooster, we've been going there for over 30 years. I'm sad to say that is the last time I will ever step foot in that restaurant. We ordered over $100 worth of food and drinks. We got half of our food and, had to go up to the counter to ask for the other half, we were ignored and then finally after about 20 minutes we were able to let somebody know that we did not get the other half of our food or our drinks. The manager went over to the server who completed the rest of our food order and brought it to us and told us that she was finishing up our drinks. The drinks never came. My Husband asked the girl , if we could get our complete order, the manager started screaming at My Husband and threatening to break his finger and shove it up his @$$. Then he was rude to me and I responded to his verbal abuse and he came out from the counter and chased me down and threatened me and told me to get off his property and he was calling the cops on me. We still had not received the drinks from our order and this was going on for over 40 minutes and to top it all off the food was disgusting, the hotdogs were literally raw and the burgers are half the size they used to be. This place was much better when it was just a little tiny burger and ice cream shack I'll give it a -5 star rating and will never be back. read more

Such a cool throwback with very relevant updates. Burgers, fries, onion rings and shakes were like crack. I couldn't get enough and couldn't stop eating. I left five pounds heavier. Service was friendly and although the line looked long (even on a Sunday at 3pm), it moved quicker than expected. The signature slopes roof is a great design choice. Food: Burger was a thin, greasy piece of beef with a slice of cheese on a bun. You can definitely get better even at McDonald's or at your aunt's backyard BBQ this summer. They were all crumbs. Terrible. Previously we ordered a milkshake which was amazing. Seems like this whole restaurant is only worth their ice cream. Service: No greeting or instructions given. This was our first time there and so we didn't notice the signs indicating where to order. The staff continued with their routine and ignored the line of people waiting in line to order. The three of them gathered together opposite from us. A simple "please step over here to order" would've been helpful. The only way we realized that we were on the wrong side is because a man walked in after us and went straight to the register. He was attended to before the rest of us in line since he went to the right spot. That annoyed me a little. After we made our order, there was no "thank you" or direction given to where we should wait for our order or how long it would take. Ambiance: Lots of seating and I imagine outdoors would be nice. No one is cleaning tables after customers leave so some tables had crumbs and trash. I feel if you have experience coming, you learn the ropes and know what to do. Well, I made the mistake of going here a second time thinking that perhaps the first time was just a one-off. The hamburger patty was still frozen in a spot, the onion rings and milkshake was decent but by the time you spend a $2.50 surcharge at the ATM for cash you will be at $25... soooo not worth it! Honestly I would have enjoyed my meal better at Burger King or McDonald's... Super important - CASH only!!! Our bill was $81, luckily i had cash, but that caught me off guard. Def nostalgic and kind staff. There is plenty of outdoor seating and given this pandemic the spaced out seating is great. The mini golf is $6 per kid, $8 per adult and open! We called our order in. It took about 20 mins to make. The staff is very kind. Maria was our attendant and she was so kind! They have battery operated little kids ride outside. We didn't use given social distancing. This is a pretty big place. Lots of space. We opted for ice cream Down the street at Burger King because the ice cream was a little Pricey.... and we have four kids. Overall a great stop! Love this place! It's a small spot, but runs efficiently! The main manager/owner is extremely friendly. He's willing to help with whatever your request is and makes the experience a great one. I've had a variety of foods from here ranging from milk shakes, burgers, and fries. All of which have been super tasty! The burgers are exactly what you'd want from an old fashioned drive-in. Juicy, fatty, soft bun, loaded with flavor. Delicious. Their milk shakes are also a must have! They're willing to make flavor combinations that aren't necessarily on the menu, so don't be afraid to ask for something (within reason, of course). Lastly, what else goes better with a burger and shake other than fries? Do yourself a favor and get the chili cheese version. It's just perfect. The only catch you'll need to know is that this is a cash only spot. No worries if you don't have any on you.. there's an ATM inside. I went to the Red Rooster Drive-In last night for a bacon cheeseburger and a strawberry milkshake because I had fond memories of dining here about 25 years ago when I worked in Brewster, and I happened to be in the area last night on business. My, how things have changed! The burger was clearly a frozen patty that once served to me was a greasy mess, barely palatable! The server forgot the pickles I explicitly asked for and had to get a side order out of them from a cooler, and they were mushy and disgusting instead of normal, nice pickle chips. The milkshake was fine enough, but for those two things to cost over $16, the entire meal was a very expensive disappointment! I would have done much better going to Burger King down the street to get two Whopper Juniors for 5 bucks. I will never eat at Red Rooster ever again! We came here on the way home from the Berkshires because of a recommendation. When we got there and we were lookin at the menu, the owner came over and I told him that it was our first time. He introduced me to his daughter and told me that he had been there for 30 years. He told me to get a double burger with fried onions and a shake. I told him that I wasn't a double burger type person and he said OK have the single burger do you like fried onions? So I said yes he said OK well they're on me because you have to try them. My daughter ordered a hotdog and we shared some fries she had a coffee shake. The food was delicious, the wait time was really short. The decor was totally a 1960s vibe. Went for ice cream only. Husband ordered vanilla soft serve, which is what I usually get at other places, but I was curious about the raspberry soft serve and ordered that. The texture of both was not like soft serve at other places... It was very bizarre. Not as creamy. The raspberry had a strange taste.
