This place is super fun. You walk in and place your order just like a fast food place. The menus are on the walls and there's even a "healthy" menu option. There are plenty of seats both inside and outside. Tables and chairs were clean. Decor is setting off the vibe. I noticed no music playing but it was nice to hear the chatter from the many families coming out for lunch with their little ones.. our family really loved the rooster outside and the coin operated rides for toddlers- bring your quarters! The food however was not only overpriced but also not so great. My chicken sandwich was a bit dry and plain. My little guy loved his hot dog. Fries were basic.. Such a fun place. It used to be a pit stop when I traveled in the area. Now that we love closer, we go for an outing that feels like a mini vacation. A recent huge improvement is an indoor eating area, so you can go year round. Very smart of them. Order at the counter and wait to bring your food inside or to picnic tables. Burgers, hot dogs and grilled cheese are favorites in addition to their delicious fried chicken. I wouldn't venture for anything fancier than that. Its dog friendly outside if you are travelling with a four legged friend. There are coin operated rides for the littles. If you have time, play a round of mini golf. CASH only, so be prepared. To me, their soft serve vanilla chocolate swirl with chocolate dip is what you'd expect, but the hard-packed flavors are a nice surprise. On a day trip to Millerton, we stumbled upon Red Rooster. Between my husband and I we shared a 4 piece (wing, breast, leg, & thigh) meal and a halved double cheese burger. The cheeseburger was really tasty and juicy and actually tasted like real meat unlike other burger places. The chicken was what impressed me the most and reminded me of Korean wings. Over priced bad fast food, confusing ordering setup, cash only and a nasty girl behind the counter. When I called her out for being rude her response was basically we don't need your business, and you can talk to the owner about me if you want, but he is my father!!! But since I already paid I stayed and the food was awful and I watched the girl point and complain about me loudly to her father. I'm not a big complainer and I didn't expect some pub style burger. This place is a nice staple through the years. Will say it is pricey and will echo the comments of many that being cash only is just annoying. I'm sure they are aware. Would like them to use the savings they get from no credit card fees to install retractable blinds by where you order. Blinding sunlight is annoying.
