I've gone to retro several times and it's always been a great place to eat beans from New York and having pizza there is not too bad we go there every couple of months as a group and have always been happy with the service and definitely the food the fried calamari is unbelievable never a disappointing moment there keep up the good work guys read more

I have heard about Red Rose since I moved to the Valley and finally- finally! we went for a celebratory workplace dinner. It was wonderful! The energy of the big space, all sorts of different people there, everyone seemed to be having the best time. The service was spot on and we were grateful. The food was sublime. I always eat at the bar. The place was busy every night I ate here. The bartenders are attentive, the food is pretty good. I have many memories of eating pizza before or after events at the Civic Center or stopping in after school on my way to the South End Community Center. I brought ny children here for the food as well. We no longer live in Springfield and when we visit Red Rose is on our list of places to eat. I love the lasagna. My children actually tried it this time and enjoyed it as well. Of course they also wanted a pizza. Thank you Red Rose for your continued years of being an upstanding establishment in Springfield. Our favorite spot in Springfield and our favorite spot for Pizza. Restaurant is big, but very intimate and comfortable. We always get their cheese pizza when we're there and it comes out perfect every time. The crust is perfectly crispy, sauce is perfect, and there's a lot of perfectly cooked cheese on there as well. Our favorite appetizer by far is their meatballs. They say they have the best meatballs, and they can back it up. Had red rose in person for the first time. It was pretty good. Didn't love the arancini. My veal parm was not my fave ... not sure why just didn't love it. But the pizza .... Oh man was that good! This place is an institution for sure, and it is worth going just for that. My meal was okay, a classic Veal Piccata that landed on the sour side from too much sauce on the pasta! The bread was cold, the antipasto was just a lotta ham-like meats and peppers piled on top of lettuce. Italian grinder was served with three little shreds of lettuce underneath the meat It ended up being a dry, heavy sandwich. Side salad was well dressed and the highlight.
