Our party of 4 had reservations for Saturday. We were seated quickly and welcomed by our server who was friendly and efficient. Tequila cosmo=excellent. Manhattan=perfect. We have been waiting in anticipation of this restaurant opening, since we are huge fans of BayKaya (the owner's original restaurant), and Osteria did not disappoint! Dark, intimate ambience with friendly service! Our waitress Lindsay was super attentive. Drinks were incredible. We got the burrata foccacia and Chef's Choice cheese/ meat plate along w/ the sausage and broccoli rabe for appetizers. All absolutely delicious! For entrees, my party each ordered something different- Carbonara, Anchovy Linguine Special, Short Rib, and Cacio di Pepe. Everyone was very satisfied and satiated by the end of our visit! I am already planning a return visit so we can try more off the menu because everything was so amazing! This place is great for meeting friends or a romantic night for 2. Love this place!!! Came for lunch and really enjoyed both the Italian Beef Sandwich and the Potchetta Sandwiches. Great Italian Beef Sammy and some of the best Porchetta this side of Tuscany. Finished with a house made affogato with house made gelato. Caroline was our guide to deliciousness and fantastic server. Went to Osteria for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. We were greeted immediately by a friendly host who gave us a choice of a high top or low table. We sat by the front window opposite a beautiful mural across the street. Our waitress, Kat, was great- very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. Wine selection was nice . We started with a meatball small plate which was not small- took half home. Delicious meatballs- very moist and flavorful. We split a Caesar salad which was a good thing because it was very large. That too was fresh and delicious! Our entrees were salmon and a special-hanger steak which was cooked to perfection. Salmon was very tender and cooked perfectly served on tomato heirloom risotto. The staff and our waitress were great. Very friendly and service was nice. The Cesar salad was also very good however we were charged $5 extra because my wife and I shared it along with our other appetizers. Which was a little frustrating considering we got 3 appetizers. The Cesar salad was the only thing we enjoyed. We got the chicken parm sliders, which were barely warm. Put on top of a stale Hawaiian roll which was odd and like I mentioned stale. My wife got carbonara and I got the cacio e Pepe and I also got the Vodka Rigatoni. All the pasta was over cooked. The vodka rigatoni had the chewy semi hard texture you get from microwaving pasta. Not to be confused with being al dente. Because it was far from that. Definitely jarred sauce. The only taste difference between my cacio e Pepe and her carbonara was the faint taste of black pepper it was all very lacking on any flavor at all. And The ambiance was tacky. Wanted to be nice but was far from it. The seating was very close. We felt as if we had to whisper to keep our conversations private. They had odd placed bedside looking tables with lamps that were definitely straight from or purposed for a cheap hotel with the usb outlets in them. We didn't order any cocktails because they were $16 which would be fine in a higher end establishment but definitely pricey for what you were getting. Would not recommend at all. You could tell it wasn't that we had a bad 1 time experience it was just not good. If you want decent Italian in Springfield don't bother trying this place. Just go to red rose or Costa. We did the Burrata focaccia and arancini balls as an app accompanied by 2 extra dirty martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives . So good. Next we did the classic Caesar salad and arugula salad . Something has changed at Osteria. If you had asked for my review a year ago I would have shared the same sentiments as many of these other positive reviews, however, last night was different and disapponting. We will not be back - not only because the food was sub-par and their service rude, but because they enforced a $5.00 splitting charge five times when our party of six shared certain dishes. When we questioned the extra $25 on our $500 bill, they were incredibly condescending. As hard-working professionals none of us have ever been treated in this way at a restaurant of this caliber and reputation. We got hollered at from across the room for getting too close to a delicate lime tree when we tried to take a picture. It was extremely embarrassing. I hope that this review will help the owner/manager reconsider the vodka pasta dish and risotto ball recipe, as well as the splitting charge - especially for high paying customers. I also would recommend some EQ/hospitality training for staff as well as a sign for the lime tree. read more

Short rib pappardelle pasty. Thick like it was precooked. The highlight were the "zeppoles". If the owner has ever been to the city he should know that these are not zeppoles. More like munchkins filled with goo and lemon. No regular coffee either. We were served 6 munchkins and left 5.5. Waitress knew they were subpar based on our comments but did nothing to compensate. My friend ordered a salad and they substituted some ingredients on the original salad with other ingredients because they were out of the ingredients in the salad she ordered. However, they did not notify her of this and brought out the salad with the substituted ingredients and ever brought it to her attention. I was in town for a couple of days on a business trip and stopped in Osteria for lunch on my way to the airport. What a pleasant experience! The carbonara was perfect, creamy and delicious with bits of crispy pork. The Caesar salad's dressing was authentic and the lettuce and croutons were crisp, just as they should be. The fresh bread smelled and tasted great. The server was friendly and caring without hovering. This is a fairly new restaurant in Springfield and it was an experience. I really enjoyed. Just left Osteria Springfield having an early bday dinner for my husband and I am so impressed. We had talked with the chef from Bar Kaya a while back before he opened this place and his vision did not disappoint. I only regret not going sooner. The food is unbelievable and has more of an NYC vibe than Western Mass but the prices are stil so reasonable. Our server Kat was great and I can't wait to go back and will ask for her every time. Actually all of the servers and bartenders were so welcoming. I got the pesto dish and added sausage and cherry peppers so it was spicy as hell but I couldn't stop eating it, the pasta is so good! And the zeppoles were out of this world. They do $10 plates on Mondays so I'm looking forward to bringing our fam. Definitely a must try read more

We went for the first time last night for our anniversary dinner. We did make reservations in advance and were sat promptly. We were greeted by our server, Zoe who was very sweet! She guided us through the menu with great suggestions from appetizers to desserts. The cocktails, wine and food were out outstanding! I had to take a box for both my entree and my dessert. Don't skip dessert, the zeppoles and panna cotta were so fresh and tasty. The Manager was kind enough to send over 2 glasses of champagne for our special occasion. The food is good but too pricey for "sandwiches'. But my major complaint is that I ordered a coffee, then a refill and I was charged $14.00......for 2 cups of coffee?!?!. Overall really great restaurant, we will be back! Their cocktail list was amazing. I love when places have specialty cocktails with unique fresh ingredients. My husband had the spicy margarita and I had a virgin blackberry bramble. We started with the charcuterie board appetizer, it was excellent and presentation was top notch. My husband had their shrimp and Angel hair pasta dish which was fine, but a little bland. I had the rigatoni vodka which was absolutely delicious. Although just personal preference, I wish there was more of that vodka sauce kick. It was more of a tomato cream sauce. We finished off with the zeppoles which were sooo tasty. All of the staff was kind and attentive. The vibe of the restaurant was nice but I hope they do a little more with it (they are still very new). The food came out very fast, almost too fast though as we were still eating our appetizer when the entrees came out and the table was very small. Honestly I'd say 8/10!
