It's nice and cheesy, not the kind of pizza where it all falls off when it's too hot. I've been going here since I was a kid. The pizza has always been really good! Best pizza, it's the same as it always was.

I was very impressed with Red Rose! I've just relocated back to the area and realized I hadn't eaten here in probably 10 years. I got the chicken piccata and it was FANTASTIC (I'm eating the leftovers now). Portions are large, salads are super yummy, and the servers are attentive and not too pushy. Prices are just a tad steep for me, but I will definitely be back regardless. The only other thing was that the lighting was super bright. I know it's a family place and not really fine dining, but it felt weird having it be so bright during dinner service. Aka not much of an ambiance - but I digress. I rarely ever get dessert, but holy moly, they have the best tiramisu I've ever had. My only regret is not trying the pizza! read more

I finally found myself in Springfield on a Saturday when I could finally taste the elusive Pasta Fagioul soup that is only served on the weekend. I can report that it is a bowl full of love. The family and I went here on a Sunday got seated right away. The place is very nice and clean on the inside. Kids loved being able to watch them make the food. We had linguine in clam sauce, this was very good. We had a medium pepperoni and a small Margherita pizza. The medium is the size of most pizza shops large pizzas. It's an old nook and cranny place with amazing pizza that is better than the mystic pizza.

We were a group of six starving after a day long conference. The reception was really friendly and helpful, the wait was going to be quite long due to the large attendance for the conference, but many left didn't want to wait, so we got in quite quick. Service was exceptional!!! Waiter was very attentive and friendly. The food came fairly fast as well. The food came in generous portions, especially the salad, it was huge!!! Spicy Buffalo Wings were okay. The specialty pizza was delicious, except it could be less salty to be more enjoyable. After I had two slices, I had to chug down a whole glass of water. The mushroom sauce spaghetti was a good portion size, I found it a bit too sour, but others did like it. The price was very good, as in the end it came to less than $10 each person before tips, and we each got a really good amount of food. Will likely be back if in town again. read more

Went to red rose for the first time last night, after visiting the casino. Very busy place. Found a seat at the bar and there was some kind of beer promotion happening.....I guess that's why it was so busy. One of the bartenders got to me quickly, even through the chaos. She talked me into trying the beer that they were promoting and I entered the raffle to win bruins tickets. I had the winter harpoon.... delicious. The large menu left me undecided and the bartender talked me into trying the pizza because "it's the best around!", and man, she was right! I'm used to new haven pizza, so this was a definite change! Great sauce, nice thick crust, and the size was almost overwhelming for a small.......I don't mind leftovers though. I had a great time here, will definitely be back to laugh with Tiffany and to try something else off of their very extensive menu! The only thing I have to complain about is that I think the raffle was rigged, as one of the employees seemed to have won. read more

Meatlovers pizza was very good except Barely any cheese on it def a negative also got a cheeseburger grinder was very good with homemade patties only negative is asked to have it with mushrooms and they put on marinated mushrooms which threw the taste off big time and they didn't toast the grinder like asked so I recommend going over the order atleast twice to make sure they get it right. But I will def go back!!! read more

This place is your typical old skool Italian joint complete with green carpeting, friendly waitstaff and great red sauce... We started with eggplant rollatini, arancini and the salad to share. The eggplant was perfectly cooked and rolled in their ricotta cheese and baked with Mozz on top. The red sauce tastes like your Italian grandmothers Sunday gravy. The arancini were just as great as I remember them being when I visited Rome a few years ago. Deep fried rice balls filled with peas and cheese... how can you go wrong? The salad to share could be shared between 4 people so BEWARE if you aren't that hungry. The dressing is a traditional homemade Italian, and good news...they sell it right there in the restaurant! Lastly, the margarita pizza is perfectly thin and crispy. The tomatoes are fresh, the cheese is delicious and the spices bring it together. This place was amazing!! The service was amazing, the food was amazing, and the place was clean and well-staffed. Shout out to our waitress Rachel for being so attentive! My boyfriend and I got the tortellini soup, Red Rose sampler, chicken parmigiana over fettucine pasta, and the chicken francais over angel hair pasta. I was pleasantly surprised by how fresh the calamari was in the sampler. They were bigger than expected and perfectly fried and crispy. The chicken tenders and mozzarella were equally as delicious. The chicken parm was good, but I loved the chicken francais. It's basically a chicken piccata without the capers! I love lemon butter sauces and this one was very tasteful, even though there were no capers for added flavor. Next time I come back, I am definitely going to try their pizza. The food is really good, but the portions are shameful LOL. I come here a few times a month for lunch and it's been hard to find something light and not crazy huge to eat. Tossed salad with chicken dressing on the side. We used to get a tossed salad with chicken for 2, per the menu it serves 2, yeah it serves 4. So much was wasted and I hate food waste. Why not take it with me? I can't! I'm only in there for quick business lunch and I can't put it anywhere. The pizza is good and I often go for a drink at the bar after work - business drinks. Sorry I just don't see the attraction. Went this Tuesday 12-3. I know it's been there forever, it's a staple, blah blah blah... I ordered a club soda and was served by a nice young lady. I then ordered a lasagna with a salad with Italian Dressing. The salad was nice and large but swimming in dressing. I should've known to order it on the side. I then got turned over to another gal as the first was sent home because they were a little slow. The lasagna was served by someone from the back and it looked great!!! But,,,it wasn't . Just layers of pasta noodles smeared w a filling of puréed meet and gobs of mozzarella cheese. Not a hint of ricotta to be found. I managed to pick through and eat some of the pasta. Ate the salad and the bread w butter. The Clincher is, I was there for an hour and the last 15 minutes with an empty glass. Not once did the gal say, 'how's your dinner? Would you like some more water?' Nary a peep! Paid the check and parted with no goodbye or thank you either. A real disappointment for sure. This was my first time here and I had a great experience. For starters the girlfriend and I had the Zuppa Di Clams which was a solid choice. For dinner I had the Veal Picatta and the girlfiend had the Veal and Egglant Parm, both were fantastic. This was my first time here and I was really impressed with the Veal Dish. Great place! Great service, great food and good atmosphere. Can get pretty busy but usually dies down quickly. Went on a weekday at around 7 and the place was hopping, but after about 15 ministra it's cleared out and the waitress gave us her full attention. I've been working across the street from Red Rose for the last five years and they're a model of consistency. We frequently buy sheet pizzas for community events and everyone loves them! The toppings are very generous too. Typically I prefer more thin crust pizzas, but Red Rose does well not to make their pizzas too "doughy" My personal favorite pasta dish is the chicken marsala over ziti. It is not overly creamy and has a great sweet flavor to it. It's unlike any other marsala dish I've had at any other restaurant, and the bits of (what I believe is) capicolla add a unique twist to the dish.
