I went to a pizzeria and skipped the pizza, opting for the chicken parm grinder and a side of fries. Excellent cheat day meal. I could only find half of the grinder. I've been coming here sense I was a kid. I used to go nuts over the decor. The food always good... Now that I'm older, I have mixed feelings. The last two times I came here, I had horrible waitress'. They were more worried about how they looked and flirting with, well every male in the place. I know a woman comenting on another woman flirting. Shame shame. But it was my 9 year old daughter that caught the waitress' behavour. Than of course the rest of us caught on. It was obvious that she didn't want to wait on a table with kids. We got a margherita pizza which was really good but have definitely had better. The service also great especially since we were there during dinner time. They have a parking lot behind the restaurant, but it fills up pretty early and there are additional spaces across the street but also seems to be limited. read more

Amazing food and amazing service!!! I had the eggplant rollatini and it was a huge portion. They give you salad too before your meal which was so good as well! We landed just after 6 @ BDL on 9/10 and made a mad dash to the Red Rose! You see, we used to be afficiendaos of this venue until '06 when when we moved out West. Despite what people say, you CANNOT get a good Italian pie West of the Rockies!! Wit all of the reconstruction it was still easy to find the old MaDam,in the shadow the MGM! It was just like yesterday!!!! Met & Greeted and escorted to a table and welcomed by #420/WHEELOCK. My Wife told our Waitress about our flight out and how you cannot get good Italian food where we live. She was speechless! We argued about what to order from the time we left Tucson; pizza or an entree. Tonight, after a long flight, it would be pizza and a few cocktails! I/We cannot put into words, how GOOD our pizza was! It was like meeting an old relative, but we're not Italian! Fantastic! Drinks as we remembered, dating back in the late '90's and dining thereafter until we moved. We engaged in conversation with our Hostess who was intrigued by our stories from "Out West." We took our purposely "oversized" pizza to go and consumed it over the next 5 days at the hotel. On our departure date of 9/2013, we took our in-laws to the R/R. Ok the food is always good here, however the bartender specifically one named (Tiffany) was just ignoring us have been there an hour before we finally had to ask another bartender for a menu. Now, I've been in tons of restaurants from around the world and I've never seen a bartender so inattentive as this one was. I won't be going back if I want to sit at the bar! Yeah, this place is legit--it exemplifies the East Coast Italian eatery. The pizza is very tasty. The crust is slightly thicker than you might expect, and thus more filling than usual. A small is BIG... big enough for 2+ very hungry people. Bigger pies are REALLY BIG. Enough for days of leftovers. We also had the salad. Simple. Drenched in Italian dressing. Plentiful. We couldn't finish it, either. I tried. Our neighbors had meatballs, seafood marinara, chicken something-or-other... Every dish looked better than the last one that came out. All the servings were plentiful. Most people took home leftovers. (EVERYONE who got pizza took home leftovers.) Most were repeat customers. A long time ago this place was wonderful. It's one of the few old time places still around. (For that I give them credit) The first time I eat here was in the mid-80's w/ my parents and grandparents. The food is sold, but nothing special anymore. Parking is terrible now w/ casino next door portions are hefty but if you go here keep it simple pizza and wings and keep it moving. read more

Stayed open past closed so I could get take out for dinner after late practice for my fiancé and I. Super nice of the staff, and all staff were so polite despite being there overtime for us! So grateful to the springfield diamond in the rough Have dined in here too many times and am always so happy with the portions and there is always so much staff working that are all so accommodating. If your having lunch here - go for the chicken parm sandwich. Recently renovated the back bar area and it looks great! They have many employees here so your food is never sitting in the kitchen. On our second trip to Red Rose the food and service were still excellent. So what's diffErent? This time we ate in the large dining room rather than the bar. The larger dining room was loud, worn and dated. Not dated in a classic sense either. I was shocked at how dirty and worn the window treatments were. It was not a relaxing environment but more like eating in a large college cafeteria. Against my better judgement I ordered a glass of the house merlot. It was just awful. It was a little surprising that an Italian restaurant as good as this doesn't have a more extensive wine list or at least a really good house wine that isn't a mystery on the menu. I guess none of this effects their business since the place was packed at 8 on a Sunday night. read more

I had not been to the Red Rose in years . Was so excited to go!! Upon arrival we weren't even greeted properly immediately were told we could only get pizza and a salad everything else would take 40 to 45 minutes. After being seated we decided to only order the pizza and salad. Three tables were around us sat after us ordered appetizers and meals and received them before we even received our salad and pizza. We asked to speak to the hostess who is very rude and we were told that's what she was told to tell people I asked to see the manager who was also as rude and then called the owner reader who also backed up the manager and hostess we were treated very rudely and we will never go back there again!!!! read more

Generous portions and friendly service. We went early (5pm) on a Thursday over the holidays. They don't take reservations except for large parties, and many reviews has mentioned a wait. It's a big place, we were seated right away. The pizza is delicious, they will do a personal size pizza for kiddos although it's not listed on the menu. Red Rose Pizzeria is in a tough location but once you find this gem you won't be disappointed. I am always torn on whether to get there amazing pizza or classic Italian pasta dishes.
