There are not many places to eat in Paso Robles if you are vegetarian and if you just need a quick bite on the road. Paso is the only place with decent food between LA and Santa Cruz. Scooter deli is a good option. recently they have increased their prices, however so that's why only four stars . We usually order ahead and it's ready when we get there because there may have a long wait as it can get pretty busy at lunch. The vegetarian Reuben is very good. so great to have all the vegan options as well. They have two locations. The one near the park has very small tables, but it's nice as you can use the bathroom in the movie theater and then you can walk in the park, especially if you have a dog. The other location nearby has nice tables outside it's more for locals rather than tourist and it's less crowded but when we were there recently however it was cold and they had no propane. We usually order ahead online and then pick it up and then we have a decent quick meal Before we go back on the road. Thank you so much for having vegan and vegetarian options. read more

I love this deli! They have a lot of vegan items and they're able to manipulate the order to fit your desires at the register. They do not have indoor seating, but the outdoor seating includes full tables and individual seats at a bar like spot overlooking the park. I got a breakfast burrito and thought it was absolutely delicious with vegan cheese and a bunch of veggies! It's a decent local deli. We came twice over the same weekend and got sandwiches to go. Both of the different sandwiches I got, I felt like the bread was a little stale. Service is okay, but they were really busy keeping up with orders both days. Definitely a popular spot. They will run out of pastrami so make sure you come by earlier in the day. We came around 2:30 and had to wait about 30 minutes for our food. Menú on wall is kind of small print and intimidating but grab a menú and find a sandwhich. I had 1/2 Rueben and French onion soup $12. Lilly wanted a scramble but they dont make that and Ended up with a scramble sandwhich on a croissant which she wouldn't reccomend. We sat out front in the shade enjoying the park with our dog. Such a cute little deli with a HUGE menu. I checked in and used my check in offer to score a free can of root beer. They've got a full coffee bar menu and fabulous side salads Cush as a curry chicken salad, broccoli salad, quinoa, pasta and classics like potato and Mac salads. Service was very poor. The lady messed up our order and charged us for a half soup and sandwich instead of a full sandwich meal. When the food came out we received only a half sandwich. An older lady said she would make the order right so we waited for approximately 45 min. We went back inside to the counter and asked how much longer? Through me off because Feta is not southwest and I don't care for it too much. The salad was Colorful but the chicken was weird. Grilled? I don't think so. Reheated from yesterday? Maybe. Visited Saturday, 16th July 2022. Like most of downtown, there is ample paid parking along both sides of the road. I imagine it gets busy at nights but on a Saturday morning, there were plenty free stalls. My friend and I walked up and looked at the menu that was posted in the window. There is a wide variety of items to choose from but we wanted breakfast food. I opted for the bacon avocado ciabatta with a hot hazelnut latte with coconut milk. My friend ordered the Mediterranean chicken sandwich with tomato soup and hot tea. While we waited for our food, we decided where to sit since we were having our food there. There are a ton of outside seating both under the patio and on the sidewalk. There is no seating inside. It is small and the available space is used for storage. We opted for sidewalk seats. It was a cool morning and not too busy so we enjoyed the fresh air of being outside. There is also no bathrooms on the property. The nearest one is across the street, about 300 meters, in the public park. Our beverages were ready first. I did not enjoy my hazelnut with coconut milk latte. One sip and I was disappointed. I thought maybe it wasn't stirred properly so that's what I did, but that did not help. It was disgusting. On top of that, it was not hot at all. Perhaps if it were hot it would be better. I probably took two sips before I was over it. The rest went in the rubbish. When our food was done, it was brought out to use in a small paper bag. Each meal was individually wrapped and the soup in a small  cardboard bowl container. The food looked amazing and was equally delicious. I enjoyed my bacon avocado ciabatta, except the egg,  which I removed. My friend enjoyed his entire meal. I left full but went in search of better coffee. read more

This is for the 6th street location.... We online ordered 2 box lunches for our wine tasting outing. Did not disappoint!! Sandwiches were outstanding!!! The food is average at most. Found the French onion soup to be a bit salty. I expected a more house made and better quality ingredients for the area that it is in. The menu is extensive and the prices are what you expect for the area. The patio is a nice place to sit since the weather is nice. I had a list of places I wanted to check out in Paso for different meals and Red Scooter was recommended on a couple different blogs and articles for breakfast. They're close to the square which is nice and it seems like it's mostly a carry out kind of place. They have outdoor seating but that's because the interior is crammed. They use the front area as additional storage space/delivery holding area and if there's more than 4 people it's like a cattle car. I figured a set up like that would mean I would have a quick turn around when I ordered the breakfast bagel sandwich with bacon. The wait took a longer than expected but that made me optimistic that everything was being cooked to order. Not what I got, I try not to judge a bagel too harshly outside a dedicated bagel place but it was pretty bland. The eggs seemed microwaved, sponge like. I might end up going back for a deli sandwich but for lunch. read more

Stopped by about 1pm on a Friday on our way to Cambria. We've always had good luck following Yelp reviews...that's why we stopped here. Nice experience! Small on the ins, but plenty of outdoor seating. They were busy, but staff was on it and took our order quickly. Got our drinks and sat out. I like that they bring your food out to you. My Italian sandwich (forgot the name) was very good. Generous fillings, fresh lettuce (NOT shredded iceberg, thank you!), decent tomato, peppers. The bread wasn't my favorite...seemed kind of dense or heavy. But I ate the whole thing (almost) so that tells the real story. BTW, that sandwich could be enough for two, IMO! Esposa had the BLT salad, which she loved. Generous with the bacon (yay!) I stole a little, and it was warm!! YESSSS!! It'd be nice if there was an alternative to the ranch dressing...not the best with the blue cheese crumbles. Creamy avocado maybe? As an option? We'd been in the car for a long time...they have no restrooms, which seemed weird. Suggested we use the ones in the movie theater next door. That was fine...just odd.
