New spot in Yaletown that serves up delicious Inari pockets and rolls! I came by after a friend recommended and realized that they have happy hour from 8-10pm, which is 20% off their regular price. For only $3.15 a piece, this place is affordable and delicious. I got the scallop, spicy salmon, and unagi inari pockets. All of them were flavourful and delicious, and the staff were so kind! Theres counter seating indoors and patio seating outdoors which is perfect for people watching or relaxing while eating. The staff even came outside to bring us water! This will be one of my new regular spots :)

dropped in at red wasabi to pick up a few inari to see if they'd be worth bringing over to a friend's place for a japanese themed afternoon tea party. the space is clean, modern, and thoughtfully laid out. there's outdoor patio seating and a few counter seats overlooking davie street, perfect for a quick bite and some casual people watching. inside, ordering is done through two self serve kiosks, or at the counter with a clear display showing all the inari options, a few sushi items, and a warm wooden shelving wall lined with food related quality books and small decorative touches. it feels minimal but intentional, with just enough personality to slow you down for a moment. the servers behind the counter were friendly and patient, happy to answer questions, and the overall operation felt efficient and well organized. i was also offered a complimentary bowl of miso soup, which was a nice surprise, light, savoury, and comforting, with a clean finish. i wasn't very hungry and only ate three inari, but they were more filling than expected. the seasoned rice was gently sweet with a subtle vinegar tang, and you could clearly taste the seasoned tofu pockets wrapping everything together. the shrimp inari leaned savoury with a mild sweetness, the salmon aburi stood out with its lightly torched top adding smokiness and depth, and the chicken teriyaki was familiar and comforting, coated in a sweet savoury glaze that paired well with the rice. there's plenty of protein options made with gluten free tofu pouches. overall, the flavours balanced sweet, savoury, and umami nicely without feeling heavy. it's a great spot for a quick, satisfying bite, or take out and based on this visit, definitely a solid option to bring along to an afternoon tea spread.

I heard the opened recently so I went to try. I think it was the owner who spoke to me and introduced all the different types of inari sushi. He told me it was $3 each but when I got to the cashier they said it was $3.15 each. The aburi ones were the best and the stuffing was a good amount.

i discovered this new sushi/inari place as i walked by. The restaurant just soft opened on monday Jun 16 and ran by a really sweet and nice couple. I tried their salmon, beef and chicken inari and they have happy hour after 8pm. Very impressed and enjoyed the raw salmon inari. but the sauce on the chicken didnt quite stand out from the sweetness of the inari skin. Likely because it is very new, there were no signs or labels on the items which made it a little challenging to order. But overall, i enjoyed the inari and will return to try again when they have settled

Amazing hole in the wall offering 20 different flavours of giant Inari pockets. They are bigger and more filling than you realize - J ordered 5 and should have ordered at most 4. Super delicious and pretty quick service. I had three diff kinds of salmon - chopped, Aburi, spicy plus unagi and seaweed - and they were all really awesome. Amazing combination of convenience, great taste, great price. This kind of place is why I love Vancouver!

Great spot for inari! New spot in Yaletown. Service is friendly and quick. I decided to try 3 and they were all good: salmon, bulgogi beef and scallop. They were $3 each and were quite filling with the rice inside. Appreciated the sriracha mayo at the restaurant as well.

Best friendly beautifully presented with a large variety. It's casual and the music is a little bit too loud but it's very modern. It has outdoor seating, but it's not covered or protected for the rainy season

Good flavors - had the Unagi, the Hawaiian Ahi and the Aburi Salmon. The issue was the rice was on the hard side. 6:30 on a Tuesday

The exterior looks very rundown, and the store sign is somewhat disappearing. Basically, the exterior is not well maintained and if I didn't know about this place i wouldn't even notice its existence. The interior is very basic and lack of decors. There's usually only one staff member up front. You'd order at the cashier and pay first. The restaurant is quite small and can get busy during peak times. They serve delicious Japanese staples such as hamburger, omelette rice, and also Western options such as waffles and sausages. The portion is good and price is also reasonable. Drinks are also yummy. As we entered, it's exactly as others have described - very tiny, homely and quaint. We were seated immediately, were given menu's and instructed to order at the front counter when ready. Once we ordered and paid, the food probably took less than 7 minutes to come out - so quite fast. I tried both the Omu Curry Rice with Pork Cutlet and the Omu Hayashi Rice with Nikomi Hamburger Patty. Both looked very home-cooking style dishes, but in a good way that is very different from what you can find in a Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. Flavours were good, the portion sizes were generous and the prices were reasonable. Staff were very friendly. They made sure so thank us before we went out the door. Overall, a very pleasant experience. I liked the food, and always supportive a hard-working family. I'd come back again.

I would recommend chicken or shrimp if you want a protein. I had the tonkatsu (pork) which was a little tougher. The thinly sliced pork with cheese inside was the best bite I had. My hubs and I vacationed in Vancouver a few weeks ago in late April. We had seen the long lines for dinner at Saku when we were here more than a year ago. So, we decided to give them a try for a late lunch around 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon. No wait. We got seated right away. We liked how spacious and airy the dining room was. Our wait staff were friendly and on point. They were considerate about answering our questions about the food and food allergies. I ordered the chicken thigh katsu ($26 Can) and my hubs got the chicken thigh curry ($28.50 Can). No dairy involved in either dish which I was happy about because I have challenges digesting milk protein. Yes, it's kinda pricey. Yes, it's totally worth it. The katsu is light, crispy, fried perfectly, not greasy, and comes with unlimited rice, miso soup, finely chopped cabbage salad, and an addictively delicious sesame dressing. My hubs' curry sauce was served on the side so he could pour out as much or as little as he wanted. All in all, it was a very pleasant and satisfying meal. Saku is top notch for katsu. You won't believe how good katsu can be until you try it.

Their salmon oshi is well known, I love the ebi oshi the most but definitely get both and decide for yourself. The whole menu delivers though, from the sashimi to the rolls to the cocktails, all of it beautifully plated without feeling fussy. The space is nice too, took a big group of family here once after an event and they all loved it. And if you're here in the summer ask about the garden patio out back. It's an elevated experience but never stuffy. Perfect for a date night or when you want to treat yourself. Reservations are a good idea because it fills up. I made reservations about 4 months in advance. Upon arrival, one of the hostesses opened the door for us, and asked us to wait in a very ornate waiting area. We only waited a couple of minutes before another hostess seated us at the main seating area. The space is very dark, and only lit with candles while the rest of the diners trickled in. During that time they take drink orders, which is limited to sake, wine, beer and a few non-alcoholic drinks. Of note, they don't provide a drink menu, so we were a little surprised by the cost - the yuzu sake and the plum wine were $30 each. My non-alcoholic drink was $12, but a fair size. The theatrical portion started a few minutes later than the official start time - closer to 6pm. The shades lifted, the lights turned on, and the chefs introduced themselves. And from that moment on, they immediately went to work preparing our meal. They operate like clockwork to show the ingredients whole to the diners, and then preparing them, and serving them. Soon as the one dish was completed by all the diners, the next round came shortly after. Over 20+ dishes, there was very little wait time in between each. Each time a dish was served, a hostess was there to describe the dish and provided tips on how best to eat it. The food was overall was very good. I thought a few items were very average, most of them were very good, and a select few were truly outstanding. Most of the ingredients are imported from Japan, so I would imagine that it's part of the reason it's so expensive. This is definitely a splurge meal. I think half the diners at our sitting was celebrating a birthday. On the most part, the food is very good, watching the chefs at work is part of the entertainment, and the service is excellent. Okeya Kyujiro is a Michelin one-star theatrical omakase restaurant, and when they say theatrical, they mean it! From the moment you're welcomed by smiling ushers in kimono to the closing tea ceremony, every movement feels intentional, precise, and elevated. The ambiance is serene and anticipatory. At the start, guests sit in silence as a black screen conceals the chefs. You see their shadows moving behind it. A bell rings, the screen lifts, and the performance begins. Dinner is a 25+ course experience priced at $325 per person. It's undeniably a splurge, but for a milestone celebration, it feels justified. The menu is seafood-forward, with many ingredients flown in from Japan. Each ingredient is presented before preparation, then carefully assembled and served directly from chef to guest. Courses arrive one by one, never rushed. The service team moves seamlessly in the background, refilling water and attending to drinks (available as an add-on) without disrupting the flow. The finale is a matcha ceremony, whisked in front of you with the same quiet precision that defines the evening. When the final sip is taken, the bell chimes once more, the chefs and staff bow, and the screens close. It was a beautifully choreographed dining experience, perfect for marking a special moment, and one I'd gladly return to for the next celebration.
