I probably should of tried some noodles to give this place a proper review - but ended up trying the beef brisket rice - Brisket pieces were soft and fair sized - however flavor was pretty lacking in the sauce and meat - possibly wasn't marinated long enough? - Rice had some clumpy bits that were a tad bit cold - but when you mix it around with the rest then it was okay. Service was pretty fast, no wait on a Saturday afternoon is a win - tables were all spread out - so conversing shouldn't be an issue. Well lit, didn't notice any music - so the vibe was just people chatting. I may come back to try the noodles - however the rice was a miss for me and won't be a repeat.

GREAT food!!! It's over my expectations. When I walk by the restaurant, it looks like those fast Taiwanese food restaurants, I didn't expect the food was that good. We order pork chops rice and beef noodles (their signature I think). The pork chops were a lot and very soft, it also came with Taiwanese kimchi, it sounds weird but I love it. The beef noodles were AMAZING, the beef melt in my mouth. The restaurant is bright and clean with an open kitchen. The staffs were very friendly. The most important thing is their prices were reasonable.

We were wandering around Chinatown on a Sunday afternoon. Every restaurant was sooo busy with an hour wait. We stumbled upon this place and wasn't too crazy. A Taiwanese restaurant with very delicious food. Four of us ordered a few dishes to share and try. - Stir fry garlic and basil beans - garlicy bean, a bit on the softer side. - Wuntun beef dry noodle - sauce was very flavorful, love the sesame flavor. Great combination with the veggie, meat and noodles - Spicy beef noodle - not really that spicy but the flavor was good. Not too salty - Xiao long bao - so juicy and steamy pork bao...tasty Food was great. Service was quick and attentive.

I love this location, as it's a centrally located in the heart of Vancouver's bustling Chinatown. The staff are super efficiently, friendly, and they seated us right away. We've had lots of Taiwanese food through mutual friends, but we love the flavours this restaurant serves up. For a quick snack, we shared the beef noodle soup with a side of brisket + pan fried beef wraps. The broth for the soup is amazing, and the meat is super tender. The beef wraps are an incredible ratio of savoury to sweet. Definitely left us wanting more, but we had dinner plans so didn't want to put us over the edge. Will def come back with friends, as we really enjoyed it. They have a pretty diverse menu for both vegetarians and meat lovers and seafood lovers.

Found this place while walking with a friend in China Town in August. Ratings looked good on Yelp so we had to see with our own eyes. The restaurant shows they boil the soup for 12 hours with Chinese spices. They specialize beef noodle on the menu and the price varies depending on topping. I got Beef Tendon and Noodles ($16.55) while a friend got Signature Beef Noodle ($15.55). It was bjg and filling. Meat pieces were tender. Noodles were good. Food was okay. I didn't see what's so special about their food. It didn't fit into the price tag, could've been better.

There's nothing like this picture in their menu

Had been here few times, they cannot keep their quality control. We ordered the Cucumber with Minced Garlic, they gave us cold a plate of cucumbers without any sauce or minced garlic. We asked them to change, they came back with cucumbers with a few whole garlics (not cut at all). They said they changed the menu because one of the customers didn't like the garlic What an idiot excuse, am I a customer here. They just came up with an excuse. This is not the first time. Last time we ordered rice with meat sauce, they gave us overnight rice

When our original lunch plans fell through.. we surprisingly saw this restaurant down the street. We got seated right away and service was quick and welcoming. Very similar to dimsum ordering.. we click online to choose which dishes we want and the server goes over it again with us in person to verify. It didn't take long for the food to come out and they came out piping hot. It's hard to compare flavors to Din Tai Fung but it's closely comparable! Flavors are there and portions are decently large. My favorite was the salt & pepper chicken rice bowl. The chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned.. with pickled veggies and a boiled egg added to the rice bowl. Ww also ordered the beef brisket noodle soup.. very flavorful and amazing. We ordered spicy wontons, shumai & shrimp dumplings. Tasted pretty fresh and good size! Overall we were blown away with the flavors and lots of different options on their menu. I would definitely come back!

Beef and Organs in Chili Sauce

I love Taiwanese cuisine and had to stop by to get some beef noodle soup before heading back to Seattle. I ordered their signature beef & tendon noodle soup and beef and organs in chili sauce. My partner got premium beef noodle soup. I was surprised how huge the noodle bowl was. I really enjoyed the flavor and it is not too salty where it makes me feel thirsty or dry mouth later. The broth is delicious but feels like it is still missing something. The beef and organs appetizer came with tender meat, tendons, and intestines. Personally, it can be more spicy and wish the tendons/intestines are served slightly more chilled to add some texture to it.

We didn't realize Vancouver had such good Taiwanese food. After visiting another popular Taiwanese spot the night before, we had a hankering for those succulent beef noodles again for lunch. There were plenty of seats and no wait for our party of 6 around noon. All the appetizers were on point. The popcorn chicken was extra crispy that is typical of Taiwanese popcorn chicken. The wontons in chili oil were also incredibly tasty. We found ourselves dropping everything in the chili oil before we ate it. The portions for the noodles were huge. I could've easily split with another person. The wontons were perfectly boiled, some places boil them a little too long to the point that the skin melts away but that wasn't the case here. And the broth was so flavorful and had so much depth to it. There's a slight tang to it, could be all the spices and just hours of making the broth. But it was a welcome tang, it was very appetizing and I couldn't stop drinking the soup. Also ordered the bubble tea here and it's made with fresh tea bags in each one!

Your preference will depend upon subtleties about noodle thickness and texture and broth flavors, but there is always, always a line in front of Ramen Danbo. A lot of it is probably due to hype or fame, but I have to admit that I think it does edge out the others in several ways. I think the noodles themself are more flavorful and more delicate. And I have to say the pork was extremely tender and flavorful. The egg was perfectly prepared, and the broth was perfectly seasoned to my desired spiciness level. They also do a great job searing their gyozas. Also got a piece of tempura spicy chicken - basically coated in shichimi and i think chili oil. This one was WAY too salty. They had a new yuzu drink which I also tried - too sweet, and for $5, total rip off. Considering the quality, their prices are on the high side. Its just not good enough a product, especially when there is exceptionally good ramen to be found elsewhere in Vancouver. Street meter parking if you can find it. Paid parking was not too hard to find on the Main Street but during busy dining hours it might be difficult. We got seated right away at the bar since there were no tables open and the service was quick. Traditional Japanese style ambiance and even the bathroom had rounded Japanese bowl sink. As someone who doesn't have chicken broth (paitan style) ramen, I was really looking forward to the original ramen I ordered but I was a bit disappointed in the flavor profile of the dish. The ramen had both chasu and seaweed paired with thin round noodles. The broth was creamy and had a hint of chicken flavor but even adding several rounds of their soy sauce/salt seasoning they have on the side to adjust your broth to your liking-- I found that the richness of the soup was not what I had expected from the reviews that I read prior to coming here. Overall, a bit disappointed in the flavoring of the broth but maybe we came on an off day. I would be willing to give it a shot again in the future if I had ramen cravings and given that it was very affordable ($11-15 per bowl with tip), but I would probably opt to try another place first.

Review #3 for 2026 I…read morereally wanted to like this place. I watched many videos and read reviews before coming here, but it just did not hit the spot. After a cold day of exploring Stanley Park, we felt that ramen would really hit the spot, so we went here not wanting to deal with a wait at Danbo with a hungry and tired toddler. There was NO wait when we arrived here and we were seated immediately... which for a place that was really hyped up, should had made us think twice. There was only 1 other party at the restaurant. Now, the workers were super nice and the food came out quickly and we did eat everything because we were starving. We all ordered the cha-shu tamago ramen, 2 of us got spicy and 2 of us non-spicy. It came with extra chashu and the soft boiled egg for about $20 Canadian. The bowl was a good size and there was a promo for free extra noodles while we were there. Everyone except me in our group took advantage of it because I was too full from my bowl. Now, the broth here is different from other places because it is chicken based and not pork based. Everything I had seen about this place promised the broth is every bit just as good as the pork bone broth... however, the broth we received looked flavorful, but was bland. It was completely bland. There was no richness to it, not even a hint. I don't know, coming from southern California, the flavor just was not there period. We did all eat our food because we were starving, but it for sure did not hit the spot at all. Maybe we got an off day? Otherwise our broth had literally zero flavor to it. We all wished we had tried the other ramen place instead right after trying our ramen. Would I come back? I will have to say definitely no. We do not live in Vancouver and I do not want to waste any meals on a place that did not taste good the first time we went.

The beef wasn't as tender as it could be, but it wasn't chewy or tough to eat. Prices are reasonable at around $20 after tax and tips. So if you cannot take spicy food, check with them before ordering. The beef noodle soup is tasty as I do like the addition of pickled vegetables in it, giving a bit of tartness. The beef is tender though the quantity is very little. More noodles than meat ratio. The combo is totally not worth it now that the price has gone up to about $13.
