I just got a 2019 Outback, and the experience was much better than I anticipated. I got the premium version I was looking for in the color I wanted (cinnamon brown pearl), and was treated fairly throughout the process. Nicolas C. was my salesman, and he should be yours too. He explained all the tech and touch-screen and adaptive cruise control etc. Speaking of adaptive cruise control, that's the best way I've discovered to drive. The cruise control allows the driver to keep some distance. I was driving an old truck so this is all very fresh. Heated seats, smooth transmission and the all-wheel-drive make this car pretty awesome. I'm 6'4" and 260 and have ample room with the seat fully extended. Good car, good dealership. Very impressed with my one and only experience at Redding Subaru. I do not live anywhere near Redding and my Outback needed a serious repair in order to get home. I was almost resigned to being stuck for at least a day or two and expecting an expensive bill at the end. I called Redding Subaru early the next morning and Michael said to bring my car in right away. Michael said if I left my car there all day, he could probably have it repaired by the end of that day. I was very pleased about possibly having my car back by 5pm, but Michael's team ended up fixing my car so quickly, I was back on the road at noon and on my way home that same day! I was completely manipulated and miss guided by my sales person and the financing guy, they took the highest interest rate possible tricked me into a new car when i just wanted mine fixed. They ran my credit so many time my credit rating went down 100points. Told me i was feting a perimium model and sold me a base ,it certainly wasnt the xar i test drove. They even got me to walk out if another dealership stating they would beat the deal and in the end i git the shit end if the stick . So if your a girl dint gi in alone to buy a car. read more

My Subaru Outback lost power on I-5 just south of Redding. I got a tow from AAA to the dealership. I was in the middle of a move from California to Washington. My wife was driving another car and we were not anticipating any delays. Michel Woodward, the service adviser, took my car in and had his mechanics look it over. They said it would take a while and cost $138 to diagnose. Less than 2 hours later they could find nothing wrong with the car. They think maybe a piece of carbon got stuck somewhere. They found no error codes and even tested the gasoline. Nothing. He didn't charge me a cent and made sure the car was working fine. I would have been more than glad to pay for the diagnosis. I finished rest of the trip with no issues. These guys are great. I highly recommend. read more

I bought my 2022 Subaru it did not have a CD player we made the deal for them to install a CD player we bought it on May 31st 2022 still haven't got the CD player installed they still make excuses that they can't get the part in if that's the case don't buy a Subaru cuz if it breaks down they can't get parts to fix it stay away from Reading Subaru they will tell you anything to get you to buy the car once you bought it they could care less Don't trust riding Subaru if the accessory is not in the car don't buy it Wait till they have the car that's got everything you want before you buy from them it's almost been 6 months and no CD yet never again read more

I went to Redding Kia Subaru about a month ago to test drive some cars. I was looking to trade in my big rig gas hog and get something mpg friendly, but didn't want to sacrifice features and room. The 3rd car I test drove at the Subaru lot was a Subaru Legacy. This car had one of the smoothest drives I've ever experienced. I was impressed by the basic features of the 2013 model. I'm a tech guy and I love the fact the stock stereo can sync up with my iPhone natively from the dash without the use of bluetooth (USB charger cable). My heart was set on the limited with all the bells and whistles, but even with a killer offer, I simply couldn't afford it. I was told the baseline and the limited have the same drivetrain and they were right. The salesman, Roman, initially had introduced me to the Subaru line when I was test driving. He put no pressure on buying, very patient and a good listener. I had found someone to help me co-sign/co-buy to ensure I would get a great rate. I had to make my decision during the time Roman was off. However, Donnie was extremely helpful through this process. The car was out of stock and had to order it. Roman and Donnie actually worked together to make sure I got what I wanted; their priority was to help me find a great deal, not their commission. They were very honest and insightful the whole way through. My only complaint? My patience. Sometimes you get giddy and want instant gratification, but they both kept the deal smooth and I was a happy camper. I even ended up getting the 7 year / 100,000 mile extended warranty. Experience was mostly great. The sales staff weren't pushy and explained things well. I was in and out in about 3 hours. Would have been 5 stars except for one person, the guy going over the actual paperwork. He let me know immediately the he was southern and would be calling me ma'am, and then proceeded to refer to me as 'girl' the entire process. Sir (boy?), I am a woman in my 30s dropping more than $30k of my own money on a product you sell, have some respect. Ma'am is acceptable. Ms./Mrs. Lastname is fine. My first name is even better. But 'girl'? I'm going to assume that when you're working with men, you don't say 'sign this, boy' as you hand them documents, so I suggest you reflect on why you're so dismissive towards woman. The salesman never completed their portion and I didn't receive my gift card. Can't buy a car from a guy whose got no follow through. I went over to Toyota and bought a new Tacoma. I cruised around the lot for minutes before I was asked if I needed anything. The sales people there realize that we have this thing called the internet and we can also look up prices and statistics. No word games , no tacky sales tactics and no outlandish games here. Not once did I ever hear the phrase that I hate the most, "well, you should move quickly , someone else is coming to look at it today " or "we've had 4 calls on it today". No you didn't. My daughter and I stopped by because of an electrical system light that she was worried about on the 2016 Camry we bought from Subaru and even though I didnt catch the service guys name, he came out and was one of the most caring polite gentlemen I've dealt with in quite awhile,. (Other than our superb salesman Shane Parker ) He saw that I was a little perturbed with my daughter over her 'online' search concerns with what could be wrong with her car and he came out and looked at the issue and told us everything was fine as long as the light didnt come on when the car was on. Got a used Forester with 20K miles on it thanks to Rob who patiently helped us and went along for two diff Forester test rides and then stayed late as heck to help us make the trade in on the day we wanted. We got a better warranty on the used car than they offer on the new cars and the resale value of Subaru is bar none. Very glad with our purchase thus far and looking forward to going back in to Redding Subaru to get a few more details worked out. The warranties they offer are really impressive and we're glad we were able to spend our money locally, that was important to us and we even went down to Sac to look around but just felt compelled to spend locally. Probably a great place to BUY a subaru but don't ever bring it here for overnight service. Back story- took a road trip on a Saturday and car broke down in an area with little to no cellular service and since I didn't know the area well, I immediately searched for nearest Subaru dealership to tow my car to. Upon arrival i was greeted and told that it would be checked out by service folks on Monday since they did not work weekends. Before leaving I was told to leave car unlocked since they have transients who like to break into cars on the lot overnight. I was shocked to be told this by the actual dealer! Basically their reasoning was that the transients will overlook an unlocked car because a locked car may have valuables... seriously? Since I had no choice and I lived hours away I had to leave it and get repaired. Car turned out to have the good ol head gasket failure and ended up with a nice hefty bill and without a car for over a week. Once car was ready for pick up, I make the long trek back to dealership only to find out that my car is trashed inside and a piece of my interior was stolen!!!! They literally delivered my car to me in front of the service department with empty water bottles(probably from technicians as they weren't in car prior) and wrappers and trash everywhere! What kind of dealership doesn't check the car before bringing it to the customer!?! Basically they acknowledged that my car was broken into and would order me the part that was stolen..... thanks but either way this is totally unacceptable and no subaru owner should have to feel unsafe leaving their car at the dealership for repairs, let alone when you are stranded in a foreign area and still decide to take it to a Subaru dealership since you TRUST that your car will be repaired properly and SAFE. Only positives were that the car was repaired properly and the service guy Mike W. was great to deal with. I have made a formal complaint to subaru of America and hope no one else has to go through this. In all I would never recommend ANYONE to take their Subaru here for service as you may or may not have your car broken into. **update 10/25/2017 Redding Subaru owner, Jeremy called me and personally apologized. The buying process was easy. Salesman helpful and not pushy. Overall a good experience. Service dept. is another matter all together. Seems they are shorthanded or running late each time I have gone in. Scheduled for 9:45 am. Got there right on time. Was met by a young man who curtly told me to move my car to another lane since they were very busy and he did not have time. Was told it would be done this pm. Arranged for the dealer to pick me up to retrieve my car. A bit of a mess, won't do that again. Mike made sure that I understood that the shuttle is a "courtesy" and apologized for the whole situation but it didn't do much to make me feel any less aggravated by the whole scenario. read more

Note: This review is only about the SERVICE department. I would never buy a car there and pay the $3,000 "regional adjustment" for any of their vehicles. I have a 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek that I bought in NC last year. Over the past 8 months, I have moved across the country twice and have been to 12 different Subaru dealers. This has been the first and only Subaru dealer I have ever been to where I feel good after I leave. The service staff are attentive, courteous, and go out of their way to make sure you're satisfied with your experience. I took my car in because there was noise coming from the rear suspension. They replaced some defective parts, but the noise persisted. When I brought it back, they gave me a brand new courtesy vehicle and were very keen on fully understanding the problems at hand and then relaying the solutions back to me in clear verbiage. Subaru is known for making great cars, but their dealerships often suffer, especially in the service departments in my experience. Redding Subaru does not fit their cohorts mold in any way. I have the utmost respect and appreciation for the service folks here. read more

My husband and myself were in the market for a new small SUV, and had been looking around at our options, we decided to take a look at the Crosstrek. Zack came out to greet us and answered all our questions, took us for a test drive in two different cars, and showed us around the lot to look at what was available. Roman took over, and answered more questions and talked to us about what the different options were for the car. We ended up buying a car that day =) We arrived late in the afternoon, and by the time everything was taken care of, it was well after their closing time, but they did not seem bothered at all to make sure we were taken care of. The gentleman who handled our financing was very professional and helpful as well. All three of these gentlemen were very helpful and gracious with my family, and seemed genuinely interested that we got what we were looking for. I am really enjoying the new car, and especially looking forward to the snowy weather to see how well I am sure it will do. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I went in there wanting to buy a new Subaru but the sales guy (Colin) kept trying to pressure me into buying a used Subaru because they didn't have the model I wanted that was new. I went home and the next day I got a voicemail​ that said they had several models of the car I wanted in stock. I went down there with my wife only to find out that it was a big fat LIE!!! And the sales guy kept trying to pressure me into buying a fully loaded model because the models I asked for "must not have show up yet. I told him "but you called me today and said the cars were here, so you are a liar." He replied, "hey my manager tells me to jump and I reply how high." We purchased a new Subaru Forester from a dealer in Sonora, CA and love it. Love everything about it. Then stopped at a friends house in Anderson, CA, went to leave and the dashboard was lighting up like a Christmas Tree. Didn't know what to think, had one more appointment when we had it towed to Redding Subaru for service about 2 minutes to 5 pm when they closed. We were literally rushed in to take care of us, I needed a loaner to make my appointment and Michael Woodward was the Service Adviser on duty. He moved very fast to help us get the car turned in for Service and a loan to me in about five minutes, he is fantastic and then they called us back in the am before 9 am and had our car ready to go after taking care of the issue. Wouldn't recommend this dealership. We bought a used Honda for my daughter here and we were told how they spend all this time and money on the cars before they sell, if the car needs it they do it! B.S. Less than 3000 miles and my driveway has oil spots all over it, engine is all oily. They wrote on inspection leaking from engine and transmission and need to be looked at immediately. They were going to call me, didn't hear anything, I called, nothing. I think we are on our own. Repair shop in town says the motor has been worked on and has leaks from work done improperly. Not good, so far $450.00 for the easy gaskets and still not fixed, going in again next week for more work. read more

This Subaru has exellent customer service. I was very pleased to buy my new outback. Getting financed was a breeze. The only thing I wish I new before hand was about the mirrorlink not working in the US. Why even have the app on the screen if you can't access it. Cory and the whole team was awsome.
