I've been having a major cheese fry craving lately so I decided to stop by Redhot's to satisfy my taste buds. I ordered some cheddar fries and they were slamming, I wish I bought two. My gf got the double cheese burger and she loved it! One thing to keep in mind is that they are cash only but the prices are super reasonable and well worth it. I can't wait to come to back, because there's nothing like supporting local businesses with great food.

Excellent place to get a hotdog and fries, I even think they're better than Jimmy's on Pulaski.

This is a great place to get a hotdog and fries. I even think that these are better than the ones on Pulaski and grand.

So cheap! I Stopped by Red Hot Ranch and walked away impressed. The burger was exactly what I expected it to be and you can tell they make everything fresh, which I really appreciate. The fries were a little too soggy / oily for me. They had good flavor, but I like mine with a bit more crunch. Still, I'm happy to eat them. Overall, it was well worth the stop! - AD

Not a lot of places left in a city where you can get a double cheeseburger, fries, and a drink for 10 bucks. Double cheeseburger absolutely hit the spot, gooey cheesy and delicious. Twice fried French fries were crispy on the outside, had a delicious interior that tasted of pure potato without being saturated in oil. Made sure to enjoy the meal right on the counter inside while it was hot and fresh.

Red Hot Ranch is a staple if you want some cheap, delicious no frills food. We stopped by for a quick bite and we really enjoyed the food! This spot is cash only but they do have an atm on site. I always order their cheeseburger when I visit because it's a smash burger and smash burgers are always delicious. I like thst their tomato is sliced super thin and their onion is chopped up. This makes for a clean juicy bite every time! We opted for the cheese fries because you can never go wrong with those. They have seating outside so you can eat your food fresh and enjoy. This location is under the L so be prepared for the train passing through. Besides that, 10/10 I definitely recommend!

Dang, this place is really a worthy competitor to In n Out. So cheap, and so good. The burger was delicious. I recommend you get the double, as the single is a little thin. Very nicely seared. The fries are very average, but the Red Hot Ranch sauce is delectable! It is a nice blend of thousand island and a slight hint of zesty/horseradish sauce. Shrimp was $12.50 but pretty delicious. Really crispy, straight out of the fryer. My first recommendation is still for the burger. Cash only, standing space at the counter inside. There are benches outside, though. The staff are super friendly and super fast! Amazing!

Yummy! where can you get a Quality, Extra Tasty Meal for under $10 in Chicago??? Right here. WOW. The burger is delicious, with a special sauce that has diced onions mixed in it. That's the magic right there. The Signature of Red Hot Ranch Burger. So delicious. The tomato and lettuce add more layers of scrumptiousness. Their fries are fresh, made right there with natural potatoes. I asked for extra crispy! So good. Nice light toss of salt on them, which sticks well when so fresh. Very impressed with this power packed meal in this small stand . It's a stand up only or take away. Right next to the Milwaukee El-Train. Signage is high, so easy to locate. The grills are open , so you can watch them cook if you like. I can easily see why they are compared to In & Out on the West Coast. Very similar burger taste. But that magic sauce does it. I'd definitely recommend them!

Looking for affordable, quick and delicious burgers and dogs? Red Hot Ranch is your spot. Cash only located right underneath the L tracks which adds to the Chi Town feels. The double smash burger, fries and drink for a whopping $10.50! The fries tasted fresh cut and the burger was greasy and packed with flavor. Friendly staff flipping delicious burgers and dogs at an affordable price. Worth the visit.

I finally tried it for the first time so I ordered a variety to try. Food: I had the RHR Cheeseburger and Fries and a half lb Shrimp. The burger was good and THAT SHRIMP!? It was so good!! I don't know what kind of batter is used but whatever is it doesn't need to change. I got the cheese sauce on the side for the fries and that was good. The mild sauce was good as well. Drinks: N/A Service: The employees were cool. Nothing to complain about. They greeted me and were working. That is alright with me because my order was ready quickly! Atmosphere: It was chill. I believe there's a patio outside and earplugs are provided for train noise. I would return and I do recommend it. Note: It is CASH ONLY. I know in 2025 that can be annoying but paying less than $10 TODAY for a burger and fries today is just fine with me! There is an ATM inside.

Costco has better hotdogs. This hotdog has the diameter of a dime. Do better Chicago.

LA tourist here. This acclaimed hotdog joint that is revered by online warriors and redditors was drastically disappointing. The bun was limp, pale, and devoid of life. The hot dog had the diameter of dime. The disproportionate peppers/onion to meat ratio gave my mouth an unwarranted punch of salt and heat. If you are ever drunk at midnight looking for hotdog to satiate your alcohol induced hunger, go to 7 eleven for a better hotdog.

    Andre A.

Red Hot Ranch is a gem. The double double with fries is the best for the value in the entire city . Service is always fast and the food is always delicious. The inside of the restaurant can get pretty packed, but you get your food so fast that it doesn't bother you. You gotta check this restaurant out.

The kiosks were arranged in a circle, and we were the only party in line instructed to wait behind a group that was finishing their order. While we were waiting, the kiosk next to us became available, and we started to head toward it. However, the employee rudely and loudly told us to wait and instead directed the next party in line to use that kiosk. The same thing happened again when another kiosk opened up diagonally across from us. We ended up standing there until the original group finished ordering, even though other kiosks became available, which took away from the overall experience. After placing your order, the staff calls out the numbers printed on your receipt. If you order at a kiosk, listen carefully--they call out the last four digits of your receipt number. Multiple numbers are called at a time and sometimes with a rhyming phrase (for example, "Number 66, get your fix!"). It's easy to miss your order if you're not paying close attention. I ordered the Chicago-style hot dog, which comes with mustard, relish, celery salt, chopped onions, sliced tomatoes, a kosher pickle spear, and sport peppers on a poppy seed bun. It was my first time trying these toppings together, and I found it to taste fairly average overall. It's a fun place to visit while in Chicago, and despite the crowds, the line moves fairly quickly for both ordering and food pickup.

First night I ordered a polish hot dog with everything on it and a fish sandwich w/ extra grilled onions. Super cool that your order comes with fries and I added a cheese cup both times. In my opinion the fries were mid the first go around, but second time they were better. Definitely tasted better dipped in cheese. They were kinda airy in texture, if that makes sense. Polish hot dog was around a 6.5-7/10 for me. It did taste better warmed up the next day. What I was most obsessed with was the double cheeseburger and fish sandwich! both were easily a 10/10. Super good prices and worth the money. Also, the chile peppers were sooo bomb and hotter than I expected ! I wanted to eat them all, but they were packing some serious heat! Service at Fatso's Last Stand matches the laid-back but attentive vibe of the restaurant -- staff are friendly, efficient, and know regulars by name, creating a welcoming, neighborhood-favorite energy. While the pace can get lively during peak hours, especially on weekends, the team handles the rush with good humor and keeps orders moving. The ambiance is casual and retro in all the right ways, with diner-style seating and a comfortable, unpretentious environment that makes it perfect for relaxed lunches, casual dinners with friends, or late-night burger runs. It's not fancy, but when your focus is on big, delicious burgers and familiar comfort food, Fatso's delivers exactly what you're craving.
