The pint tossing male was only there the last time which was the cherry on top of the zero service I received the prior 2 visits. * Not busy * Stood next to the service bar near the first stool, menu in hand. placed down to show I was ready to order. * Female bartender talking with 2 other employees at entrance to bar where I was less than 2 feet away with menu down, attempting eye contact, and I was ignored the entire time. * A male was inside the bar area as well just flipping a pint glass in his hand. He made eye contact but did not acknowledging me even when I said hello and that I wanted to order. He now made no eye contact and continued with his pint tossing. * Still not acknowledged by ANYONE. * I gave it 12 minuets all 3 times then left. Just by looking at the name of the business, one would assume that they just serve beer, but Redondo Beach Brewing has much more than just brews. I just discovered this place a little over a year ago, but I've probably been here at least 15-20 times already. They've remodeled the place so it looks a lot better in comparison to my first visit here. // FOOD // Nachos: $14.00 Choice of spicy ground beef or grilled chicken breast, cheddar and jack cheese, black beans, sour cream, tomatoes, green onions, jalapeños, black olives, and pico de Gallo. This huge platter of nachos is great to share amongst a group. It's loaded and they don't skimp on the toppings at all. 4/5 Chicken quesadilla: $12.00 Marinated grilled chicken, cheddar and jack cheese, grilled onions, Ortega chilies, guacamole, and salsa. This is your typical quesadilla. Not amazing, but not bad either. 3/5 Ribeye: $28.00 Grilled Angus steak topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions, served with seasonal vegetables and herb roasted potatoes. The steak itself was pretty tasty, but slightly chewy and the fat was gristly. The seasonal veggies were cooked and seasoned perfectly! 3.5/5 Greek tacos: $15.00 Pita bread filled with ground lamb, capers, cucumber, tomato, red onion, Kalamata olives, romaine lettuce, and feta cheese. Topped with balsamic reduction and served with tzatziki sauce. Delicious! I'm not a fan of lamb at all, but the ground lamb is seasoned well and you don't taste the gamey flavor from the lamb at all. 4/5 Southwestern Penne P.V.: $18.00 Penne pasta with grilled chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes, green onions, parmesan cheese, and spicy chipotle pepper cream sauce. I thought the sauce and the pasta was pretty bland. They said it was one of their best selling pasta dishes, but I did not care for it at all. 1/5 I've also tried a couple other pastas, salads, and appetizers, but it's too much to write. Last but not least... THE BEER! Amazing selection of beers on tap that they constantly rotate out. They have a wide selection of IPAs, sours, wheat, pilsners, pale ales, ciders, blondes, reds, porters, stouts, and fruit beers. They typically have 55-60 beers on tap which is more than any place in the South Bay. They also offer beer flights of 4 if you can't decide on a brew. It is a giant block of heaven (I mean coffee ice cream with heath bar crunches mixed up in it) smothered in a layer of whipped cream and chocolate sauce! If you need a second opinion on this, our waiter was extremely enthused after we said we wanted the mud pie and said that his first week on the job, he took one home EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. If that's not enough to convince you, idk what will. Great place to come for a nice dessert and drink with a couple of your buddies. (I'd say 3 is the perfect number for tackling that beauty). For some reason I'd never been here prior to last Friday, yet, I've been all over up and down the street for years. Maybe it's because this place is not out in the open like the rest of the bars, IE not overly inviting. Everyone likes natural sunlight and a cool breeze on a bottom floor patio, which this location does not give the appearance of having. I was seated upstairs which does have an outside feeling and a nice view. Between my wife and I we each liked our food. She had a tasty burger (A minus grade) and I had the fish tacos (solid A grade). This is a great spot to come for a burger and a beer after a beach day, so I definitely recommend it to those seeking a laid-back American flair with good beer options and a solid burger. Prices can be pretty lofty, but the happy hours are pretty good . Did I mention beer? I don't think they brew their own beers, but they have LOTS to choose from. Its been years since our last visit here, I suspect we will be back much sooner. To our taste, much, much better than Rock n' Brews a short distance away. Although they do not appear to brew their own beer there are easily 50 beers to choose from plus wine and mixed drinks. You will be happy with their beverage selection. We certainly were. For dinner we had basic pub fare, I had a portabella 'burger', my wife the impossible burger. There were multiple cheese and topping options; I really enjoyed the gouda cheese, rare to find in any restaurants. We both enjoyed adding grilled mushrooms and onions. (Yes, in retrospect it does seem redundant to top my mushroom burger with mushrooms). You have a choice of breads/rolls and the option to substitute a salad for fries for a slight upcharge. I had the salad which was ok, and shared some of my wives fries which were quite good. Other vegetarian options include pizza, a portabella stir fry bowl, and although all their salads include meat (really?) I suspect you could substitute portabellas for meat if you asked. Although I don't know for sure. Downstairs there are multiple innocuous TV's mostly showing sports, easy to ignore if you are there for conversation. Although we did not head up, friends we were with said it was more of casual dining atmosphere with a very nice patio with view. You are located a very short stroll to the beach where you could enjoy a nice stroll before or after dinner, and the Riviera Village is filled with numerous small shops conducive to browsing. Have never had dinner here before. Been by countless times. I think that's because we always "assumed" it was a sports bar kind a place. Well that's partly true, the bottom section has a sports bar feel, the upstairs has a different vibe, that of a casual eatery, that happens to be on the top floor of a bar. It was as a bit sunny when we arrived, about 4:40. So one needs to be carful where you choose to sit, as the sun sets in the West & so stands there glass wall. The menu was just right for what we were looking for! I had been online earlier and saw the Calamari during happy hour was $6.00, normally $12.00. So we started to order that & mentioned the $6.00, when our young waitress said it's $7.00. Long story short, it's in your web site & the right thing to do is, 2 fold, honor it & don't give any attitude....Again fast forward. Our appetizer came & was terrific, followed by our entrees. All were delicious & our waitress got her mojo back and all ended well. All in all, the establishment was clean & inviting. The service friendly & good. As for the the food, delicious. We travel to Southern California twice a year to see family. We always come to the Redondo Beach Brewing Company. Whether it's a summer visit and hitting it after a day in the pounding surf like today or a winter visit, just to take in their tastes, both food and beverage. Their 2nd level outside seating is absolutely the best, always getting the very last seconds of sunset that Redondo Beach has to offer. Today the family had their grilled smoked turkey sandwich, fish tacos, salad and Greek flatbread, pictured. Another great visit! We used to really enjoy this restaurant but the quality of the food has changed and the service is slow. A family favorite was the southwestern penne pasta. Now it is greasy and $25. For $25 I expect to get gourmet pasta and service. Also, you can expect to pay $20 for a salad. Again, high prices for average brewery food. One item on the menu that is still good is the mud pie. I am pleasantly surprised at the all around delicious food I just had. We shared some appetizer sliders and they were absolutely amazing. So good in fact, that a member if the party decided to order a burger as a result. I shared an order of beef stroganoff and fish n chips and both dishes were so good we cleared the plates. First time visiting here for a lunch meeting. They got the first floor and a second floor. I think the second floor is mainly for the happy hour as we are directed to the second floor immediately. We got there around 1pm and there are lot of people but still have some tables available. We ordered the pepperoni pizza, bowl of chili and a turkey sandwich. The pizza was soo good and you can tell that the food were freshly made. The portions are big so its good for sharing. The waitress who attended to us seems nice. (I compare ALL Ahi sandwich's to the Seared Ahi sandwich at the San Pedro Brewing Company . THAT San Pedro Brewing Company Seared Ahi sandwich is the bar setter for me). Great food, friendly staff, comfortable environment. It is fair to say my family are regulars here so I acknowledge some bias, but you only become a regular at a place that earns it. For food, I can vouch for everything I have tried and would recommend: chinese chicken salad, southwestern penne, vaquero steak, potstickers, and potato skins. For drinks, I am a J&C guy, but I understand they have an extensive beer list if that's your thing and make a good margarita. I realize that I hadn't written a Yelp review for my favorite restaurant, because Yelp wasn't invented when I started being a regular there! My wife and I have been going to Redondo Beach Brewing Company regularly since they opened in the early 90's. It's the best place to take friends, because their menu will please everyone! From what I remember of the restaurant's history, the menu was originally designed by then partner James Brown's sister Christine. Any South Bay foodie will know Christine Brown from the famous Christine's restaurant. Lots of her creations are still on the menu, including my FAVORITE Southwestern Penne PV Pasta (order it medium for a little heat, but not too much) DELICIOUS!!! Had it last night...So Good! The Beer selection is AWESOME featuring brews from all around the Pacific coast! Favorite lately is "Breaking Bud" Knee Deep Brewing Co. Auburn CA. But equally as important as the food and drink are the people who work there. Owner John has an incredible knack of hiring some of the greatest people. We have stayed friends with several of the servers, bartenders and managers after they have moved on to other careers. His current staff is exceptional! We love being in Becca's section and the recent addition of Manager Amber continues John's top notch skills at finding the perfect person for the job! What a good place to go before or after a game. The beers are good, there's plenty to order from their menu, the service was good and the restaurant had a nice vibe to it also. I could imagine this place being really packed when there's a sporting event on, they have TVs all around the restaurant. Beers good.
