    Brussel sprouts

Overall food quality was good but not great. The brussel sprout were nicely fried with bits of bacon. If you like brussel sprouts, you'll like this version. The rest of the food was just a bit bland and dry. Both the fish and short rib lacked flavor. The beef was very lean and needed the gravy. The service was great and they had many open tables.

The interior space is gorgeous, with deep wood tones and comfortable seating. It has an upscale vibe, and the service is attentive and welcoming. I really liked how the waitress went out of her way to highlight items on the menu that were exceptional and/or popular (such as the braised short ribs or the Parmesan crusted fish). We came for happy hour and an appetizer before a nearby event, but the menu looked so good that we decided to split an entree and opted for the BBQ glazed meatloaf. The food here is scratch made and the attention to detail is evident. There were so many things on the menu that really looked delicious, I'd like to come back when on this side of town.

I've been here several times. Usually for happy hour. Preferably during warm days due to the exceptional outdoor seating. The most recent visit was for dinner and we sat inside. Service was timely, professional and responsive. Water glasses never went empty. Everyone loved their food and the noise level was surprisingly low given the number of patrons. Difficult to suggest what I would have changed...so 5 stars for me!

A quick visit for lunch at an always great spot in Eden Prairie. We had Chicken Pot pie and Tuna Salad Stuffed Avocado. Prompt service and a happy vibe.

Restuarant with outside eating was a nice plus to the excellent meal and service. Looked to be a favorite for locals too.

Outside seating was a plus; new in town and wanted to enjoy scenery. Chicken Pot pie was excellent. Place looked to be a favorite for locals too!

From Chicago, first time at Redstone. Here are some thoughts: -The place was packed on a Monday night, always a good sign. -I ordered the southwest salad with chicken, and it was good, not great. -My buddy ordered the chicken pot pie--very good! -We ordered the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. Honestly, it was the highlight of the meal. -This place is more on the classy side and the service is quite good. Our food came out in record time--very fast--a nice surprise! Recommended.

Great service by the bartender Scott

I was pleasantly surprised by how cool this restaurant was. I walked around the lake from my hotel with a good read and plopped myself down at the bar. The bartender, I believe his name was Scott, was super friendly and immediately greeted me. He provided water and made me a good ol Jameson soda and lime. I told him I was trying to decide between two things and and went with the burger per his recommendation. He didn't put the order in til I told him I was ready that way I could read and enjoy my drink before taking my food back to the hotel. He checked in frequently as did another bartender, and they really made me feel welcome. They clearly were used to both regulars and business visitors as their conversation was pleasant. I'll definitely go back and eat here next time I am in town for work.

Went here for lunch & it was a great experience. Had an amazing waitress. She was very nice, efficient, helpful & genuinely seemed to like her job. I had the steak filet Cobb salad. It was delicious! 10/10 highly recommend. Always a great spot! I'll definitely be back when in town.

We came here with friends for an evening out. Service was good but they were busy. The prime rib was very chewy and barely warm. The filet was great and the carrots were cooked perfectly. They didn't rush us out and that was appreciated.

On Thursday we had our wedding reception here and it was so lovely! The food and staff were amazing - both parties' families were blown away as were the bride and groom. Val went above and beyond for my husband and I with planning, set up, and accommodations. Without her it wouldn't have been possible. Thank you Redstone! :)

The Redstone American Grill is a classy restaurant that my husband and I treated ourselves to on our trip to Minnesota. When traveling, it is difficult to eat healthy, so we each decided to get a salad. I had the chicken chopped salad while my husband had the original Thai chicken salad. I enjoyed all of the veggies in my salad, while my husband's salad dressing had a sweet and tangy taste to it. I really liked the cornbread croutons in my salad. My only complaint is the price. Twenty-three dollars for a chicken salad is a bit expensive. But it was yummy and our server was super nice. I recommend Redstone American Grill.

Parmesan Crusted Walleye with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes

The customer service was excellent! We arrived around 5pm, just in time for Happy Hour, which offered $3 off wine--a deal I didn't mind at all. We ordered the buffalo shrimp appetizer, calamari, and Brussels sprouts, all of which were delicious. For the main course, I had the Parmesan Crusted Walleye with asparagus and mashed potatoes, and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was lively, especially in the back near the outdoor patio, where larger parties made it a bit loud. The venue itself is beautiful, and while I couldn't sit outside due to light rain, the patio looked absolutely stunning.

Do they have a private room?

They do. The room to the left when you enter can be closed off from the restaurant. We have had events there.

Do they offer a wide and tasty gluten free menu?

This would not be my first choice for GF. They may be able to do a bit of accommodating but probably not for celiacs

We also ordered some drinks (You're My Boy Blue & the Rhubarb/Ginger Gin Fizz). Both were a perfect balance of refreshing and fruity. I ordered the brisket mac & cheese (pictured) and was immediately in love. Truly the definition of comfort food. We ordered the Candied Bacon flight to share; the menu listed the bacon flight flavors (whiskey jalapeño BBQ, roasted chile brown sugar, honey mustard, 4-pepper blend) and the 8 large, thick slices looked inviting but we had no idea which pieces were which flavor. *Management Suggestion: Get little toothpicks or flags so diners know what they're tasting!* That said, while I tried two pieces I thought looked good and I enjoyed them, RC munched through them unaware they were different flavors, lol. My take: they were ok. I also ordered the French Onion soup as I love trying different restaurants' take on it. Five stars for the soup, it was absolutely delicious. A thick piece of crusty bread topped with melted cheese that dripped over the crock topped rich, delicious caramelized onions and just enough beef stock to be able to call it soup. Banging. For our mains, RC ordered ribs with a side of Buffalo Brussels Sprouts. The ribs had good flavor but were definitely not fall-off-the-bone; more like saw from the bone. We both love Brussels but the beef-tallow fried sprouts with Buffalo sauce and caked in melted bleu cheese crumbles were not good. If you don't like Brussels, you might like these because any sprout flavor was overwhelmed by the bleu cheese. For my main I tried the braised Short Rib Ravioli, generous ravioli in a very rich cream sauce then topped with (I think) bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes. I ate one raviolo and it wasn't for me. I thought the filling was bland and the sauce didn't meld with the flavor. I didn't eat it, the manager came to apologize and ask if I wanted something else, but RC was close to finished and I declined. Good on them for taking it off my bill without me asking. Service was five star, atmosphere nice, although the huge flat screens everywhere were a distraction lacking sound or captions. The bourbon selection looked great and I momentarily wished I could try some! :D

We made a reservation on both occasions but didn't have to make it too much in advance so it's always worth checking on. Service is always spectacular with a huge attention to detail and really customized spiels about the menu. The things I've recently tried for drinks have included the spritz del ambratta, the fiore, and a sparkling red from their wine selection. I find myself going back to the Fiore and would recommend that most although their wine is a solid selection as well. In my opinion, the best starter combination is the focaccia plus the lemony beans. The focaccia is solid and it's so good to dip in the mixture that the beans are doused in. The Caesar was decent as well but you can't miss with that other combo. Then, of course, the mains. If you love creamy pasta, do yourself a favor and get the cavatelli. One of my favorite dishes I've had there; I kept almost comparing it to an adult Mac and cheese. Great for sharing if creamy pastas are a bit too rich for your liking. The lasagna is always a close second and you can't go wrong with it. My friend adored the pickle pizza and I thought it was solid too although I would still probably get the cavatelli or lasagna if you are between that and the pizza. Another great shareable. The saffron spaghetti was decent with some really good bite from the noodles and the taste of saffron really coming through, but I would probably get those other dishes before I would order that. On the first occasion, I was there we were celebrating two of my friends' 30th birthdays and H&S did such a good job of celebrating and making them feel special plus they brought out French silk pie cannolis for us plus glasses of sparkling wine, so I would highly recommend this place as a celebratory dinner. I hope it becomes a big mainstay in twin cities/twin cities adjacent cuisine.

We went back today and while it was still good, definitely wasn't as good as it was last time. The jerk chicken plate removed the beans, changed the rice, and got rid of the sauce so it wasn't as good though it was a bit less dry than last time. They also removed the Ropa Vieja from the menu which was our favorite. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and was not impressed. The fries with it were good. The drinks were still great. Service was friendly but slow (drinks, food, and waitress all slow). Another in our party got the blackened salmon which was really good. I personally would have preferred a little less glaze, but it was still incredibly flavorful, and I'm honestly still thinking about it. Even though they're known as a tequila bar, don't sleep on the mocktails! I ordered the Hibiscus Cooler, and it was light, refreshing, and the perfect pairing for the meal. For our entrées, I ordered the mojo pork tacos. They were good, but I ended up adding some extra habanero hot sauce to give them more of a kick. I also appreciated that they have several hot sauce options available, including Cry Baby Craig's, Cholula, and habanero sauce. We couldn't decide between the brisket mac and cheese or the elote, so we ordered both to share. The elote had a strong lime flavor that overpowered it a bit for my taste. The brisket mac and cheese, however, was delicious. It could have used just a little more seasoning in our opinion, but it was loaded with generous portions of tender brisket and had the most satisfying cheese pull. It was not great. The problem? I think it was because owner/chef Rene Ruiz Olivar was acting as waiter, not chef. We gave Sr. Ruiz the freedom to choose our tapas, with one exception, the black ink pasta with scallops and shrimp (Tinta Negra) that reviewers have raved about. He said, no problema--he would serve it. Then he must have forgotten because we never got it. The first tapa served, almond-crusted manchego (Almendrado), was plated prettily and was delicious but oh-so-sweet. It was an odd choice for a starter, would have been better as the finale in case nobody ordered dessert. Soon came a lamb tapa (Cordero). The lamb chops' quality was uncertain as the meat was severely overcooked. El Bodegon's langoustines (Gambas al Ajillo) had given every bit of their sea flavor to the sauce, which was magnificent, we all agreed. But where were the dish's promised mussels, the rice? One shared plate, a beef tenderloin tapa (Carne Brava), had apparently lingered too long in the kitchen--the meat was nearly cold. I adore papas bravas (Patatas Bravas). I must have had the dish a dozen times or more during my last trip to Spain, in 2017, when I visited friends who live in Ronda. During my six-week stay, we toured Andalucia, staying at hotels in large cities and visiting small towns. I also spent time sola in Madrid and Barcelona. Unlike in Spain, El Bodegon's potatoes were diced to death. Never in Spain have I ever had patatas bravas that were not substantial in size. All in all, I found the vegetables accompanying the tapas unrecognizable except for the tiny Brussels sprouts. The rest seemed chopped up or stirred to pieces in the pan. Some of my friends had churros for their dessert. They deemed them appropriately hot and tasty. My dessert was cheesecake torte, decked out with a candle as it was my 90th birthday. The torte was a gold-star winner. It was absolutely delicious, its plating the most successful of the evening. It was so perfect it almost made up for the sub-par tapas that preceded it. One of us had a view of the kitchen from his seat at the table. He saw a man other than the chef/owner doing the cooking. Was he a trainee? Did Sr. Ruiz help with the plating? God knows he didn't have a lot patrons to contend with in his role as waiter. It was a slow weeknight, and there were never more than four tables occupied. I sincerely regret that our time at El Bodegon differs from so many reviewers. Like them, I want to see Sr. Ruiz's little restaurant succeed. He has a hard row to hoe, and I hope a disappointing dinner like ours does not befall anyone else going forward.
