Our reservation was given away when we first got there and even though it was busy we waited like 10 minutes to be seated at that was fine. Let's start with the food. We love this place! Have taken our family multiple times. They are accommodating to kids even with being a more fancy place. The key lime pie is amazing, we get it every time! I am not sure where people say this place isn't good? From the moment I sat down, I was greeted by such a kind and hospitable waiter. He checked in appropriately and brought everything as requested. I had the rotisserie chicken and wow! Moist, flavorful and a huge amount! The potatoes were also very delicious. Asparagus was average. I should also mention the atmosphere. So calm and relaxing. This strikes me as a comfortable suburban lair. If you are on an expense account or care not about cost you can feel ensconced and entitled. If you're like everyone else, including the author, it's hard to not feel ripped off (but I knew what I was entering so that helped me to temper my feelings). I recently had lunch with my out-of-town daughter at Redstone. We were greeted at our booth by a very enthusiastic and marketing oriented young server. It was for me hard to resist her energetic presence as she pitched drinks, specials and more in an appetizing but not overwhelming manner IMHO. We both started with limeade/coconut mocktails. They were refreshing but tasted largely like limeade (despite a vigorous stir as urged by our server) and were undersized and overpriced in my book. Next we split an order of shrimp/calamari. I found the plate very light on shrimp and the calamari to be average, not extraordinary. The marinara dipping sauce was OK. I had a Chicken Chopped Salad and my daughter had the Poke Bowl. My salad was generous but felt a bit uninspired and her bowl was reportedly fine. Since my daughter has worked as a server in numerous places (she now lives in the Denver area) we both had to give high marks to our staff person. She was perky, professional and attentive while appearing sincere and committed. Kudos. The atmosphere is dark and handsome (I don't think that you could call a restaurant tall) but not terribly distinctive (I found it somewhat too corporate)). Conversation was not at all a challenge. Cuisine was certainly a cut above the unifood served at well advertised chain restaurants but again, gave the impression of being overpriced. And the atmosphere is admittedly much more private and subdued than many. In the end, despite the shockingly high total of the final check (to be fair I wasn't in savings mode), the lunch had to be considered an overall success due to the company of my daughter and the competent vivacity of our server. read more

For 120$ I thought we should have gotten a good lunch . The salad was soggy with soggy croutons. Added avocado was rock hard. Croutons were made from the leftover cornbread. The beef sand was not thinly sliced . It was sliced thick and was very tough placed on a three day old bun .not edible. So.. if you like cornbread .. go to Redstone.. otherwise do not bother . I've never left a restaurant in my life. I did today. My mother and I sat for lunch. Our server was working what appeared to be 12 tables or so - the restaurant seemed understaffed. With that in mind, we waited patiently for service. We ordered French onion soup which I always get at this restaurant. When the soup arrived, the broth was like gravy - very thick - and the onions were mushy. There was an odd taste. This is not the normal French onion soup that they usually serve (or that you get anywhere else). Something was very off about it. We let our server know, she stated she'd tell the chef, and she took our soup back. She brought up a menu to reorder, but she never returned to take our order. We waited. Then, we watched as she took other people's orders. To her credit, she had too many tables, but no front of house staff came to check on us, or anything. Nobody came. So, we eventually left after patiently waiting again. Not a good experience. Perhaps avoid the French onion and lunchtime service if you're looking for lunch. read more

I have been to Redstone many times when it was located outside of the Ridgedale Mall, near the Ridgedale library. So this was my first time visit to the newer location for Redstone inside Ridgedale Mall. The new location I think has been open now for a few years already, and I finally made it in today! It's about time right? I found the new location to be convenient, and parking convenient and easily accesable from the outside parking area. Definitely a plus! Enjoyed a nice brunch and coffee here with friends today. While my friends all opted for the brunch items, I chose the Rotisserie Chicken Chopped salad which was excellent! I had rotisserie chicken with fries and asparagus. I thought chicken was their specialty, mine was a little dry which is disappointing for a $25 entree. Wife had the Cobb salad because it's been good at other locations, no complaints on her end. I remember the kids menu being way overpriced, I'm not cheap but $12 for everything is way too much, we let ours eat off our plate. I wasn't thrilled with my Martini either...extra dirty, on the rocks, blue cheese olives...should be good all the time. I don't know, for one of the more expensive meal options through a chain I'll try somewhere else. The worst dining experience I've had in 10 years. Everything took a very long time. From ordering drinks to receiving the food, to getting our check. The server forgot our drinks twice and brought out the wrong food. It took half an hour to get the first set of entrees. Yes, they brought out the main course at three separate times. The first entrees arrived after half an hour, one more at an hour, and the last an at an hour and a half. The steak was awful, raw. I couldn't even eat it. This was by far the worst dining experience I can recall. Then they took forever to get the check. I will NEVER DINE HERE AGAIN. AWFUL. Went here on a Sunday evening with a group of 13 to celebrate a birthday. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The server was amazing and got our drinks for the table right away. We ordered some appetizers which consisted of chicken wings, bread and cheesesteak egg rolls. The bread and egg rolls were good but the chicken wings lacked any seasoning or flavor. Would not order them again. Our entrees came out together and everyone was pretty happy with what they ordered. The Mac and cheese side dish was very good and cheesy and well seasoned. The flat bread needed more ingredients and could have been better. Since it was celebrating a birthday, we had 2 of the chocolate chip cookie sundae's and the server brought those out with a candle and extra plates and spoons. Great server. Went here for brunch with my family this morning, with a 12:15 reservation, so we were seated promptly. The main dining area didn't appear to be overwhelmingly busy, so we expected service to be similar to what we've experienced at past visits (prompt and friendly). Our server greeted us within a few minutes of being seated and took our beverage order. The last 2 members of our group arrived and when the beverages arrived, we were able to place our food order. 30 minutes later, we were still waiting for the complimentary bread item (currently beignets), as we had plates delivered but nothing else. The 3 of us who had coffee had empty cups that were not refilled until our meals were brought out, more than 45 minutes after ordering. At previous visits, we had plenty of time to enjoy our food. Today was not one of those times; half our group needed to be out the door at 1:30 and had to rush through their meals because service was so slow. 3 of us ordered the Chef's breakfast, which is supposed to be unlimited food but we weren't checked on to see if we wanted anything additional until our server came to clear the plates and half the group had left. The food was good quality, but service was sorely lacking at this visit. An automatic tip had been added because we were a group of 7, so couldn't reflect our displeasure with the service in that manner. I like Redstone. The food is good and service is good as well. I went with a couple of friends and we shared the bang bang cauliflower which I recommend. I didn't think the cauliflowers were going to be as good as they were. That and the buffalo jumbo shrimp are a good starter. After l, we all got the simple grilled fish which you can chose from either salmon, walleye, or sea bass. I got the lemon garlic oil salmon that comes with quinoa and some veggies on the side. My other friend got the Cajun spiced. I also got a side of Mac and cheese. For dessert we got the warm berries crisp which was good and if you like ice cream you're going to enjoy this dessert. The warm chocolate chip cookie sundae is also very good. For drinks we got the lavender lemon drop, and the blueberry lavender mock-jito. The mock-jito was good, but it was a bit too sweet for me. My husband and I love going to Redstone mid-afternoon for a nice quiet late lunch/early dinner combo. The French dip is awesome and so is the steak salad. Best fries ever, too! My hubby loves their Manhattan cocktail, and he's really picky! We've never had a bad meal at Redstone and it is our go to restaurant whether dining just the two of us or meeting friends or family. No sour cream or scallions like she mentioned. The quality of this food can't be blamed on Covid. We've been to Redstone countless times, and have always had amazing food. Tonight we ordered a filet meal, ribeye meal, and two kids meals. My husbands and my caesar salad was brown at the stem parts. I noticed it but let it go. The food came. My filet was a little over cooked (medium rare requested) and got really dry after a few bites. My daughters Mac and cheese was dry, cold and had minimal actual cheese sauce on it, along with soggy fruit... The biggest disappointment was my husbands ribeye. The steak was small, thin, over cooked (medium rare requested), and over half of it was fat and unable to eat. Vegetables were soggy, and was only a little bit of zucchini and a ton of non appetizing kale. Huge huge disappointment. For 50 damn dollars a meal I was really discouraged. And $12 for a kids meal? What a joke. Needless to say that's probably the last time we'll go to Redstone Ridgedale. Pretty disappointed. For a $200 meal I just didn't feel right about the whole situation.
