We visited this shop last week in search of a chair. We met Jack Moore, who helped us move a chair from an elevated spot so we could actually sit in it. Mr. Moore's customer service was stellar. He knew every fact we needed about the chair: the materials, pricing, fabric options, comparable choices, the works. He worked with us in a way that made us feel we were valued customers. Perhaps most important, Mr. Moore made our experience a pleasure with his friendly, no hard sell communication style. The paperwork was handled swiftly without any unnecessary back and forth, and with no unwanted surprises. We can't wait to receive our new chair and will absolutely return to Rejuvenation for the rest of our living room makeover, thanks to Jack Moore. Outstanding. read more

I walked into Rejuvenation yesterday, for the first and last time. I walked through the store in a the typical U pattern. I got to the door pulls/ "accessories" and a white male sales person came over and said to me and my partner, "be careful, it's expensive over here". I responded with don't worry I got it. I was so floored that this person made that statement to the only two Black people in the store (maybe another associate that worked there??). Unconscious bias or overt racism. This store is filled with ageist sales associates. I came in here after browsing the internet and fully expecting to upgrade window locks for two units. In additions to that, purchase new lighting. All the people working only seemed to help the older customers.... I browsed the store for 30 minutes and no one gave me a second look or offered to help me. I thought that fact was comical because those who did receive help, I heard them saying "this store is so overpriced". Treat all customers equal and do better. read more

Never again. We paid for a coffee table and when it went on sale the next day, they grudgingly honored the sale price. Great, thanks! However, the delivery was cancelled twice by the driver, who was under the mistaken impression that he needed a smaller truck to deliver to our street. First time, fine, honest mistake. Second time -- why was it not noted, and why was it a surprise? Also, huge trucks deliver to our street all the time, so what's the real issue? We got frustrated and cancelled the order, then asked for a refund. Let's review -- we never took delivery of the table, and the delivery was cancelled twice, and not by us. Simple refund, right? Nope. After a couple dozen phone calls with the store manager and with Williams Sonoma central customer service, we were repeatedly told by the store manager and by multiple customer service phone reps that they needed to email the central accounting department and await a response, and we would get a call "the next day." There were several "next days," and we never got a return call -- we always had to initiate. Every time we called, nobody had any new information from the mysterious accounting department. After almost three months and countless increasingly angry phone calls, they finally "escalated it to a supervisor" and we finally saw the refund hit our account. We never received an explanation as to why there was a hold up in the first place. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. This place is a hot mess. read more

Never will I use Rejuvenation again. I placed an order for an Ottoman out of this store on March 9. The stated time to delivery, again for an ottoman, was 22-24 weeks. We didn't find this out until after checking along the way, then noticed that the timing moved back to this length of time. 22-24 weeks is 6 months. In and of itself, that's too long for that piece of furniture, which isn't even customized. I called today and it won't be here until October. It hasn't even been shipped. By the way, this was after it took 6 months to receive the couch and chair-and-a-half - so the ottoman is taking way longer and it was ordered at the same time. They may be relying on the COVID delay that's causing many things in the construction, furniture, etc industries to be backlogged. But you know what would help? Explaining that. Instead, the customer service reps, who are likely taking a beating because the company isn't more proactive in its communications with customers, come on the phone rude and ready for a fight. Do better. The prices you charge should demand it. read more

Love this place. It's got everything for home. Fans,lightbulbs (all types) light fixtures all types too, chairs, sofas upholstery. Wall and door fixtures of app sorts. Everything is great and the staff is wonderful. Michele, Marie and Shelby (manager) are wonderful staff always helpful and friendly. Brand new old stuff has been repurposed. The reason I am writing this low review is because you can't review rejuvenation products on their website and before you spend thousands of dollars here, you REALLY need to know their products are NOT worth the money. I was sent the wrong instruction manual for my product- as a result I didn't have any hardware that my product needed. Rejuvenation has been slow to respond! Now I have very expensive mirrors- with no way to install them. So please be warned!!!! Just buy from Room and Board- or Article, this place is not worth it. read more

The people in the store have the best attitude, know the inventory well and are excellent at communicating about the timing of delivery on products I order. Hard to believe that a store with expensive 'quality' furniture should have such poor help, sales people who know nothing about the product line and are rather unpleasant to deal with. I ordered 4 dining room chairs upholstered in leather. I very specifically ordered 'white glove delivery', which for a nominal extra $50 more than standard UPS, comes delivered on a pre-arranged schedule, unpackaged, brought into the house, any assembly required, all packaging removed. Instead they sent it general UPS, to be dropped off at no specific time. $2500 worth of chairs to be left on the street! When I realized what was going to happen, I stayed home all day to make sure I could cancel and return unopened boxes. Dealing with the store was useless. All issues were referred to their Customer Service number - which was the only intelligent, decent help I received. That and a very nice UPS driver. Tldr: Rejuvenation Berkeley makes it incredibly difficult to return an item, customers are never right and are disrespected & treated as simpletons, sales associates with major attitude act like they are doing customers a favor, manager not present and would send associates back and forth to the back office to discuss my return Visited the Berkeley store to make an in-store return for an online purchase. Immediately noticed there were more sales associates than customers, but either way I still had to approach & greet (on my on accord) a young lady working there. She had no idea about returns and had to ask a "manager" and kind of left me hanging at the entrance, so I followed her to the cash wrap where three other associates were just hanging. They were all staring blankly at me while she was explaining to them. The "cashier lead"/"manager" (he didn't identify/introduce himself) said "oh no, I can't sell that here." immediately and without acknowledging me or inspecting the item which was covered in plastic. He indicated that he wouldn't take the return bc it's something that they can't resell at the store. Which makes absolutely no sense because this is a Rejuvenation product, sold on the Rejuvenation website, handcrafted by Rejuvenation. It's really not MY issue what Rejuvenation does with it after it's returned. Prior to my in-store visit, I checked the "Returns" page and nowhere does it say I couldn't return to the store. I also called customer service and was issued an RMA# and told I have two options: I can either send it back or take it to the store. I found shipping would cost the same amount as the item, so I opted to take it back to the store. After much back & forth with going to the office to "speak with the manager", the associate graciously told me "we will make an exception for you this time." Then proceeded to ask me for the UPS box that the item came in, when it's obvious I didn't have it bc they saw that I walked in the store without the box and he failed to inspect the item itself (which he saw was still wrapped in original packaging). Associate begrudgingly accepted my return and again stated that he was making an exception for me. Message to Rejuvenation Berkeley: no problem! I will do you guys a favor and it will be the last time I buy anything from Rejuvenation. To Rejuvenation corporate: is this the kind of service you want your customers to experience? Edit: just to be clear about the UPS box. The box wouldn't fit in my car, so I had to break it down in hopes of reassembling the box once I got to the store. Well, the box ripped in the process, so I thought I did them a favor by recycling a useless box. Firstly, they do have really cute and amazing products. However, they sent us hardware with mismatching finishes and refused to exchange (not even refund) for the correct finishes. Several times I have gone in to ask about products and they have had me stand there while they take forever look up the products online and then read me the description. Thanks, but I know how to use the Internet. They also have a very strict 30 day return policy. I recently went in hoping to get store credit for some incredibly overpriced hooks that were not the quality I was expecting. Had an unfortunate experience that turned into a great one. Bought a planter pot online that arrived shattered. Not their fault, the packaging seemed adequate. The outer box was beat up so the shipping company is definitely to blame. ANYWAY, I emailed customer support explaining the ordeal and the emailed back THE NEXT DAY and said they'd be sending a replacement at no cost. I had always planned to get new lighting from Rejuvenation and after seeing the reviews was very apprehensive. A friend had purchased her lights there and had a good experience so I decided to give it a shot. I could not be any happier! I ended up getting 2 kitchen lights and all my cabinets knobs and drawer pulls. Every encounter I had with them was amazing. They were incredibly helpful and professional. I'm so happy I didn't go off these reviews. I'm kinda shocked they are so bad. Another bonus is they always have sales! You can get a quote and they will keep it on file for 30 days and they will contact you when the sale your waiting for comes up. (They did for anyway) If your considering getting something from these guys just go down there in person and speak to an employee. I'm sure you won't me disappointed. read more

Definitely worth the stop if you are on 4th Street and you regularly visit CB2 & Restoration Hardware. I just went into this Berkeley store to buy modern house numbers. Whilst looking at a sales rack a clipboard fell off the top shelf where it had been balanced and cracked me on the head. The manager who was standing right behind me serving another customer looked over but said nothing. I had to draw attention to the fact that I'd just been hit. They have great quality house hardware, but return policy is nothing but. I bought the wrong color house numbers and they wouldn't take them as a return for at least a credit because they said they were custom made. If they were really custom made and unreturnable why would they accept it if returned within 30 days?!? I had to buy another set with the right color. In addition, I was willing to give them the items as a donation and they still don't want them?!? Are they stupid or what? They could have made double from me?!?! read more

Excellent service and very helpful when you call on the phone. Fast and efficient. Products are expensive but good quality. Only negative is that after many years of acquiring them, Williams-Sonoma cannot get their act together and integrate them into their key rewards program or inventory management systems. I bought a dresser from Rejuvenation marked "as-is", which had some obvious cosmetic blemishes. Neither the tag nor the saleswoman mentioned the unit had significant structural damage that wasn't visible when inspecting it on the showroom floor - structural damage that would require skilled repair before the dresser could even be used (a split lateral leg support, which keeps the legs from collapsing/breaking off). The unit really had no business being in the showroom, at least not without clear warning to the buyer. The lack of such warning, and the way the saleswoman acted, make it clear, in retrospect, that they wanted to sell this thing to an unsuspecting buyer and be rid of it. All during the sales process she kept reminding me that the unit was being sold as-is, no returns. Her behavior should have raised warning flags, but I didn't suspect a high-end store like this would try to actually rip me off. Our delivery guy showed up at the store to pick up the dresser the next day, and he noticed the damage when flipping it over to load it in the truck. He brought the damage to the attention of one of the salespeople at the store (not sure if it was the same person who sold to me or not), and he was told something to the effect of, "oh, they know about that, and it's an as-is sale anyway." So he called me to verify that I knew about the damage, which of course I didn't. So they deceived me, and they lied straight to our delivery guy's face. In the end, rather than fight these scumbags, I had him deliver the unit in its broken state to see if it could be salvaged. My partner used to repair furniture in a past life, so we resigned ourselves to finding a way to fix it. It turned out to be possible, thankfully, or I would have ended up taking these guys to court. After a lot of time and effort, it seems to be safe to use now, hopefully. The short story - don't trust these people, and heed all the warnings you see here on Yelp. There are better places to buy from, ones that are trustworthy, and cheaper. read more

I've been following this place online for quite a while, checking whether they have that perfect industrial pendant light for my 1920s dining room. I happened to be shopping on Fourth Street and thought I'd check out the light fixtures in person. I took several laps around the store, staring upward at all of the chandeliers and pendant lights. All around me I heard yuppie couples being assisted on what light to buy. And yet I received no help - no welcoming, no "are you finding everything okay", nope. And it wasn't that the employees were playing the "leave you alone until you ask us for help" card - because obviously they latched onto the couples for whatever commission they make. Even their Edison filament bulbs were ridiculously overpriced - check out Restoration Hardware a few stores down first. No service, no sales. Enough said. read more

We are building a new home and the lamps and lighting products from this store looked perfect. Their website shows that custom lengths are possible and we needed a custom length for one of their lights for our kitchen. I walked into their Portland store on a business trip and purchased a bunch of lights for our kids rooms. I worked with an associate to come up with a custom configuration for our island lights. I was told someone would call me back with the price for the lights. Three weeks later and nothing back about pricing from the store. Since I live in the Bay Area, I figured I would call the local store and followup on the order. The associate on the phone was full of attitide but said he would followup. I received an email sent from their Engineering department that the custom length was possible but that Engineering never saw the original order since it was not filed properly in the system. Next day I inquire and am admonished not to talk directly to Engineering but that the information had already been sent to the Berkeley store and I should call there to proceed. When I call, the salesperson refuses to provide any information about the delivery schedule other than "it will be 8 weeks lead time". All this for a custom length fixture! I love the products, but the customer service and communication are horrible. If you really like their products and do not need any custom lengths, just order from the website and avoid the in-person interactions. read more

Pick your treasures judiciously, whether brand-new or vintage, because the price-point is steep ... but enjoy the high-quality, well-curated offerings and excellent customer service. I've many pieces sprinkled throughout my home, from an ambient desk lamp and linen bed quilt to a vintage candy jar and mid-century-style sofa. Ed: While my sofa took an egregiously long time to arrive (18 weeks, instead of the promised 10-12-week estimate), it is incredible quality (retardant-free, high-density, down-wrapped foam cushions and FSC-certified wood). Furthermore, customer service really stepped it up in the end, refunding me 20% for the multiple delays and delivery mishaps. read more
