Be aware of this company..not reliable at all! I spent about $5000 for attic clean out and replacement of insulation. The house was suppose to be rodent proofed. Two years later, my attic is heavily reinfested with several access areas that were clearly not rodent proofed. I have contacted the company several times to see what the options are and James has not returned any of my phone calls. I am using another company and spending more money to take care of the job that Reliable Rodent Solutions should have done 2 years ago. What a waste of $5000! Paid these guys mucho bucks last year to rat proof my house and replace the insulation. They did find one entry point and plugged it, but then stopped looking. This year the rats returned. I've had these guys out 3 times now and all they want to do is set traps. They don't want to look for any other entry points, don't bring tall enough ladders to get on my roof and set traps such that the bait gets eaten but no trap triggered. So effectively they have been feeding the rats, not getting rid of them. They don't seem to have much expertise in rat proofing or setting traps that actually work. read more

These are the guys to call. I unfortunately used another company last summer and overpaid on trapping, entry point blocking and clean up. Less than a year later, the rats were back and getting that company to come out to deal with them was difficult and very costly. I could go into more detail and name names, but really, my point is to say that Reliable came out, found 5 entry points that the others had missed (these were not new either), closed them up, trapped and are giving me a year or two warranty for 1/3 of what I paid the other company for the same service. I don't even want to talk about what I paid the others for the attic clean up, but in all we were well over $2,000. I now need crawl space clean up and Reliable's pricing is so reasonable. Neither reliable or having any solutions about removing dead raccoon from my crawl space. Arrived 1 & 1/2 hours late (after 3 confirming calls on my part) - Once he got here, after quite a bit of support from me, we identified the area of concern only to find out that they had NO solution! He was holding a garbage bag- that's it. I was expecting tools to remove the dead animal; heck if he would have had tools, I would have removed it! Furthermore, I had specifically asked the person who schedule this appointment about their services (because this is what they advertise!) and she said "Im not exactly sure what they do". At least I "only" got charged $50...for absolutely nothing. Very polite young man though. read more

The team at Reliable rodent solutions got the job done!! I've had other company's try to solve my problem that all failed despite their best efforts. I almost gave up, figured I had to except that I live with these animals but I thought I would give it one more shot. I called R.R.S and a gentlemen came out to give a free inspection. Long story short I decided to have them do the work , catch the rats (6 at one of our follow up appointments) and have been rodent free since. These guys ripped us off. Did a poor job installing substandard insulation, didn't clean up, and worst of all, didn't rodent proof our attic like they said they did, even after a "manager" had inspected the attic.We spent $4000 and now have to have the work done again by a legitimate company. The receptionist, Corey, was patient and helpful and answered all of my questions and explained the entire process to me when other places wouldn't let me ask questions without trying to get me to spend money. I keep meaning to write a review and get side tracked, but now I am up at midnight because there are rats crawling above my master, so no time like the present. I hired this company in August 2014 to seal and treat my house for rodent activity above the master, they came out and gave me a bid of $550. I paid that. They seemed capable of getting the job done. They told me they did this type of work often and they could handle it. Their initial plan was to seal entry points then kill any remaining rats from inside. They told me they sealed entry points and they would be back in three days to check traps. I made an appointment for three days later. The issue is that over the course of the year they "guaranteed" their work, the rats kept coming back! I called and called. I asked what else could be done and each time they told me they would send someone really good to check again for entry points. Each time they found NEW entry points they initially missed. The last time I had them come out, they found out that one of the entry points they initially sealed had come loose, allowing rats in that point! He said the cement sometimes comes loose. I eventually called and asked for a partial refund and was told I could not get a partial refund. This company was always pleasant to work with but really lacked knowledge to get work done. The owner never came out to my house. I am really disappointed I still have roof rats! They keep me up. Now, I am out $550, still have rats, and am basically back to square one after at least 15 appointments. Each appointment took 2-3 hours of my time to wait for them to come. read more

What a great experience dealing with an unpleasant problem! James was so professional and knowledgeable when giving us an inspection and locating the entry for the rodents. He then returned a few days later to correct and seal the openings, set traps, and get the nasty rodents. He explained the entire process and answered any and all questions. Secondly they came out did the inspection and I made the appointment for a Saturday cleanup job of the whole attic. They never showed up, not a phone call or anything. They came once, promising to get rid of the dead rats. They got two, leaving several more, which smelled to high heaven. When I asked why they had left them behind, they demanded another $250 to come back to finish the job I initially hired them for. They should change the name of this business to Unreliable. I then spoke to him by phone and set up a date and time for him to come to my house for an inspection. I stayed home waiting for him but not only did he never show up -- he never even called. I hired this guy to removed all the dead animals from under a house and to find out if there was any living ones under there. He removed ONE dead opossum and left everything else. He charged me $250. I had to hire another company to actually do the work that I hired him to do. When I called back to complain they said that they would not come back and finish the job or refund any of my money. I asked to speak to the owner and have waited 2 weeks for a call back. I guess they don't plan on calling me back. What a rip off this was and obviously they are a dishonest company. I am going to take him to small claims to get a refund on the money I spent with this company. read more

After a prompt on-site estimate for new attic insulation, this company cancelled their service appointment with me five times over a month. Their excuses ranged from: (1) too hot--somewhat understandable for the work to be performed; (2) equipment malfunctioning so they brought a portable vacuum that couldn't begin to handle the job of removing the current blow-in insulation of 1350sf; (3) short manpower/workers; (4) told they had a burglary and the equipment had been stolen; and (5) just a complete "no show." Each time I made the appt., it was 3-10 days in advance, and I asked them to call to confirm the night before, but they never would. I had to call them either the night prior or the day-of, usually AFTER the arrival window had passed and my morning had been ruined by planning around their $3,000 service. The fifth and final appt., they didn't call, return my call, or apologize for "blowing me off completely." This is not how to run a business, and I'm very disappointed with their service. I also wonder if they have the contractor's license that is needed to remove/replace attic insulation--which is something that the reputable insulators I subsequently hired mentioned to me. read more

These guys are great! They came out, did a thorough inspection, made the recommendations on what should be done to keep the rodents out and gave us a fair price for the work - which is guaranteed for a year. They scheduled to come out the next day to do the work, set the traps, then scheduled follow up appointments to check the traps. We got lucky. Apparently when they did the repairs the rodent we had was out of the house so the traps didn't catch anything. But they still came back 3 times to recheck and reset any traps - in addition, when they came back, they double checked their own work and reinspected the house to be sure no new areas of concern had come up. I feel confident our problem has been resolved, but just in case they reminded us that the work is guaranteed for a year so call them if we do sense a problem in the future. p.s. - they were very clean with their work, respectful of our home and family and all around great guys to work with! read more

I can only attest that I dealt with an ignorant person on the phone who is driving good customers away. I am surprised by the off-putting conversation I had with whoever answers the phone at this office. We live on the edge of Briones and so have a lot of rodents around. We have been using a method to prevent them from getting inside by blocking entrance points and setting traps to catch any that get in before you block them out. If we don't look for new entrance points once or twice a year or so, the rodents usually get back in eventually. So, proactivity seems obvious. When I asked about having regular service (approximately twice per year) with these people on an ongoing basis, they told me they weren't a rodent trapping service. I tried to explain that I was looking for someone to inspect and block any new or existing entrance points (or deal with any rodent activity, whichever comes first), which is what they do at inspections. Setting traps has to be done if there is any evidence of rodents in the walls, etc., which they say they do at inspections as well. Who wouldn't want a repeat customer who pays them for their time and is asking them to do only what they normally do? If I were the business owner here, I would want to know if my staff was losing customers. I gave 2 stars because their acclaimed methods are sound and environmentally friendly. read more

About a year and a half ago I had Reliable come out and do rodent proofing. They did a decent job, and guaranteed the work for one year. I was told about a program where I could pay $100 each year and they would continue the guarantee, and address any additional problems without extra cost. My fault for not keeping track, but the original warranty expired and they never billed me for the warranty extension y even though I indicated I was interested. They let the warranty expire silently, no calls, or communication. Now I have another rodent problem--called today and they refused to renew my warranty (180 days expired) and said I would have to pay an additional $395 for another survey and start from scratch. I asked why they never contacted me when the original warranty expired. They said most people just let it expire because they move or don't want to pay--seems odd for a program that they want to promote. I am willing to pay for a renewal and be a repeat customer, but with this treatment I am considering looking elsewhere. read more

Couldn't be more pleased! We came back from a trip and found part of our expansive crawlspace in disarray so we called a rodent company. The first company said we had rat problems, defecation in the insulation which needed to be replaced, and that we need do have concrete poured from the interior of the crawlspace to exclude them. He said it would be very expensive and never got back to me with an estimate. My neighbor recommended James (the owner) at RRS who had done some work for him. James inspected my crawlspace and immediately recognized raccoon activity and told me that this could be covered through my State Farm homeowner insurance policy. I knew that rodents/vermins are excluded from coverage but wasn't sure about raccoons. James also further checked with other technicians to ask their experience working with State Farm. Eventually, I did make the claim and sure enough, State Farm did cover it. James spoke with the adjuster and worked out the details for the repairs. His workmen came twice working all day and were punctual, thorough, tidy, and courteous. James has been very responsive, honest, accommodating, patient (took three months to get insurance approval, funds disbursement, etc.) and saved us a lot by recommending that we check our insurance company. We've signed-up for RRS's annual maintenance service too. I highly recommend James at Reliable Rodent Solutions! read more

A little over a year ago I had reliable remove my insulation, rodent proof, and install new insulation. Since it has been over a year....by two months and 14 months of ballistic pg&e bills, my warranty is up. I guess. I never received a printed one or at least they forgot to give one to me. When I discussed this $4000 project with (I don't remember his name) why would I need to? I was told, any problems, don't worry. Now is that time, oops...... wrong. I called and was told the warranty is up, we won't even come out. Why would they? They have my $4000. I had another company see if anything could be done...... Yes. I would like to say, i'm pleased, no pests but by the pictures I was shown of the work reliable did.........i'm not happy.....i'm very mad. I threw my money out the window. They must have used the day workers that hang out in front of home depot that day. Well, I had the new company fix what they could, and blow in insulation. Now my house is a constant 70 - 73 degrees.
