The hotel has mostly good vibes, but my husband and I went to the bar at the relish burger to get some drinks just to kill some time. I wanted to try and new drink. I ordered the butter scotch-vanilla infused Woodward old fashioned. My husband ordered a regular one. I did taste something different but I hadn't actually seen her put the vanilla woodford or butterscotch in the drink. So I kindly asked, she told me yes and I kept drinking it. My husband and I moved to the smaller table by the window and about 10 minutes later I hear the main bartender complaining that I even asked about the butterscotch. He said he was so powerful and was completely annoyed. I honestly was shocked because I didn't return the drink or even push it any further. This review is based on experiences at the restaurant's bar, not food at the restaurant itself. Let's start by saying the drink prices are the highest that I have ever encountered... ANYWHERE. $26.75 for a barely two ounce pour of McCallan whisky beats even the prices at five star restaurants in most major cities. Lessor whisky's were equally priced high. Too complicate things, when our party opted to not pay outrageous prices, we decided to try cocktails, which were on average $18.00 apiece. Let's just say that this bar used cheap liquor and that the bartenders were just winging it. Nothing tasted as it should have, particularly at those prices. It's unfortunate that this Westin Hotel, which by the way, is a very fine hotel with impeccable service and staff, has this bar concession. It's the only negative thing about the Westin. read more

My waitress was constantly filled as needed which is such a simple thing that most restaurants don't get right. I ordered their rodeo burger with no tomato, medium rare. Burger came well done with two slices of tomato. Meat temps can be missed although I would think a burger temp just shouldn't be that hard for a professional cook working in a "burger bistro". But the tomato. So easy to not get wrong. So the kitchen staff missed it. The wait staff didn't think to check to see if the order they were dropping off matched what was ordered. It's a good thing I don't have an allergy. Since I was dining with friends I pulled the tomato out myself and just ate the overcooked burger. By the way, one tomato was in the burger and the other was on the side so it would be hard to miss. We were coming to the restaurant because our friends were staying at the hotel and just didn't want to travel any more. I was excited about trying out Relish - it would have been great to have a good burger joint in the area. Sadly, I left very disappointed. I had the Watch City Burger and fried pickles. First off, I ordered a Diet Coke, which was 100% flat. Sent it back and didn't ask for another. The fried pickles were extremely thin slices of battered pickle. Since they were so thin, they barely had any pickle flavor. They may as well have just served fried, salty batter. The remoulade had almost no flavor and tasted like straight-up mayonnaise. Skip the fried pickles. The Watch City Burger is their signature, expensive burger. It was... average. Aside from the bacon, blue cheese, and meat, the rest of the ingredient flavors (onion rings, fried eggs, & mushrooms) just blended together into a mish-mosh of nothing special. The bacon was tasty. The meat itself was quite good. The fried egg by itself was also pretty good. The burger came with a side of fries. It came in one of those cute, small frying baskets, which are typically full of fries. Instead of filling the basket, they laid most of the fries over the top, leaving the basket itself mostly empty. Lame. The fries were so-so. Not bad, not great. Finally, this signature burger also came with a root beer float. As a soda guy, I was looking forward to this. I don't know how, but they screwed up the float. It just tasted... off. I asked the waitress if it was made with an alcoholic root beer, and she said it wasn't. But I'm almost positive it was, at least it tasted that way. I only had a couple of sips. TL;DR: skip Relish. Go to Five Guys instead. read more

Stayed at hotel, and just needed a quick dinner. First off the place was clean and looked okay. Second, extremely short staffed. I had to seek out our waitress whenever our table needed anything. All 3 of our orders were less than par. Small mistakes add up, all 3 of our meals had something wrong with it but we were not about to wait another 45 minutes for replacement meals. 2 Ordered dessert and both were not what they ordered. One not the way he asked for it, the other was completely a different dessert. Again, they were not waiting for replacements. I'm quite curious as to why the Westin decided to have a "Burger Bistro" as their main restaurant, which seems to conflict a bit with their glimmering blue glass hotel landmark visible from 128. My company loves using the hotel ballrooms for meetings and firm wide trainings since parking is free and it's a relatively more accessible location than crowding everyone into Boston. Maybe they are going for the gourmet burger image like a Five Napkin? Anyway I wasn't in the mood for a burger while eating with some co-workers so I just ordered a side salad and their chili. My colleagues ordered the largest looking burger and a veggie burger. They looked tasty enough and the fries looked normal. I feel like I've been on such a burger kick lately that it's difficult to impress me with my new gold standard (Black Iron Burger). The server seemed a bit confused at some of our questions but he placed the orders in. We sat near the windows and quite honestly they are super drafty! I felt a chill the entire time from the lack of insulation. We had a great view of the I-95 afternoon traffic. During lunch on a Thursday there were only a few tables occupied. I quickly got the vibe that My lunch would be overly priced based on the ambiance; it was not. The menu looked intriguing with interesting combinations for meals. I ordered the veggie burger. It was a spicy black bean and quinoa burger with pepper jack cheese, poco de gallo, avocado and roasted poblano crèma. Instead of French fries, I opted for the Parmesan Tater Tots. When I received my meal, I looked at the tater tots and then tasted them. It tasted like a regular tot. Where's the Parmesan? My veggie burger looked too big for me to consume in one sitting. The poco de gallo and avocado were a treat for me, but the burger itself didn't have any exciting flavor to it. The buns were smaller than the veggie burger itself. I had to use a fork to eat it. I was really intrigued by the Totchos (tots & nachos my two favorite things) Relish is located inside the best western hotel, parking is limited. There is only one small garage located for the hotel guest and restaurant goers. There was also a valet option but I only saw that as I walked in so I have no details. The restaurant was big, lots of seating and a full bar with seating. The hours are a little confusing. I didn't think of looking to see what time they opened before arriving (430). The doors to the restaurant were locked then after checking online they don't open till 7. I guess there was an option of sitting at the bar and eating but I just ended up waiting till 7 and coming back. To eat I got the totchos as an app since they were the reason I came and they completely exceeded my expectations. They were delicious!!! Crispy tots topped with cheese chili and a little bit of salsa. They are my new obsession. BUT they serving size was small, I spit this with one other person and it was the perfect amount for the two of us. If there are more then two if your party I suggest ordering two or two apps. There were lots of burger options, speciality and create your own. I loved that they had the option of a lettuce wrap to substitute for the bun as well as a veggie burger option. I'm a huge fan of Veggie burgers and this one sounded amazing but I went with the beef burger instead. The create your own had so many options. Loved it. Possibly the worst restaurant experience I have had in quite some time. It deserves less than one star. A group of 10 or so of us came here to have dinner one weekend evening because we happened to also be staying at the hotel. The decor and inside of the restaurant looked a lot fancier than the menu and prices of the menu suggested. We were quickly seated and quite surprised to see that the restaurant was empty, and remained empty during our entire dining experience. Our server was friendly and started taking drink orders as we waited for our entire party to arrive. Once the majority of the party arrived we all placed our food orders. A single member of our party arrived about 20 minutes after the rest of us had ordered, but the server kindly took his order quickly. Oddly enough, 30 minutes had gone by at this time and half of us did not receive anything to drink besides water. We asked where our drinks were and we were told they would be right out. Sadly this wasn't the first service disappointment this evening... The service continued to be quite odd in that 15 more minutes went by (total of 45 now since I ordered my drink), and not only hadn't I received my drink, but one person at our table had received his food, the person who arrived last. The rest of us were quite dumb-founded by how that happened, especially since two other people at the table had ordered the exact same dish that he had, 20 minutes earlier, and none of us had food yet. So while we all sat around for 10 more minutes with only one member of our party (the guy who came late) eating his food, the drinks finally showed up. It was just a rum and coke...that took in total nearly an hour to receive after ordering. Our food all came out a few minutes later. Three members of our party had something missing from the order. The entrees themselves were mediocre at best, the brussell sprouts were quite horrible (bacon was soggy and the dish was overall bland). We then had to get up and ask for a manager because some of us wanted dessert, and after completing our meals and waiting for another 20 minutes, our server was nowhere to be found. Again, I will reiterate that there were three servers and a manager working the dining room this evening, we were one of three tables with guests during our entire dining experience. The manager apologized for the delay, brought dessert menus. We ate dessert, also underwhelming, bland, and in general was fitting with the remainder of the dining experience. We asked for our check. Our dining situation required that we pay for alcohol separately, only four of us had alcohol in our party. Everyone received a check except me. I asked the server for my check, it took her an additional ten minutes to bring me my bill (for a single rum and coke). I will never return to this restaurant, and strongly discourage everyone to avoid it. There is much better food across the street from the hotel with much better service. read more

In fact, I had heard a lil' rumor or two from an ex-Westin employee there about a certain, erm, businesswoman who had her world headquarters there, but, um, I digress. So the point is, sex is in the back of my mind as I pull into the parking garage to meet some coworkers for after-work drinkies. And then I see the mimes standing at the driveway. Yes, mimes. And they're talking. And I see rather, uh, robust women in dresses, tiaras and sashes saying "Femme Fatale." Let me stress that in case you didn't catch the drift: ROOOWWWWWWW-BUSSSSSTTTTT. It's like a fricking Fellini film. Or a damn good tranny party. Turns out, it's a national conference for some home lingerie/"bedroom assistance aids" party company. So my coworkers and I are subjected to the sight of more beauty queens, not as robust, but definitely had that tan-in-a-can look of beauty pageant contestants if they were carved out of old leather or wood. And it's convention prom night, so they're all being squired about by the type of guys who in Europe probably wanted to be gigolos when they grew up, but had the bitch goddess of fortune laugh and plop them down in the US of A instead. And some of these businesswomen hit us up for business cards because it's some game they're playing to collect the most from strangers. One of my coworkers gives away a bunch of his, but he's in IT, so I guess that's the equivalent of meeting chicks. Anyhoo, 70@3rd is the name of the bar in this here hussy hotel headquarters. The drinks are overpriced, started out strong, and then got kind of weak. Their martini menu is what you would find at any TGIFriday's. We relocated to the outside deck that lets you look over 128 and watch the sun set. We told out waiter we were headed out there and then wondered why he didn't come out to take our order. If he had told us they can't take orders on the deck before we'd gone out there, it would have probably gotten him an extra percentage or two on the tip. And before I get flamed for stiffing hardworking servers (I used to be one) the place was not busy on a Friday evening, so he had no excuse not to be looking after us. He. Just. Didn't. Care. Seventy @ Third is a great place to dine for the health conscious eater. Their menu features superfoods options, which are dishes made from "ingredients rich in nutrients and antioxidants." I tried their superfoods tomato soup and sesame and black pepper seared salmon salad. It was superb. The salmon was cooked to perfection, and the bed of greens was fresh. It was topped with a pomegranate dressing that was both sweet and tangy and a perfect pairing for the salad. The tomato soup was rich in flavor, albeit a bit on the spicy side. It was a nice change from traditional bland tomato soup. I went on a Wednesday night. It was pretty dead. The food came out quickly, which was nice. They didnt bother us after we were finished eating. I stayed there chatting for about an hour after we were finished eating. However, I imagine that would not be okay if it were a busy night. Hmmm .... i was hoping this place would be better, but it was very average. The waiters and waitresses were very nice, but the burgers were overcooked and the fries were greasy rather than crispy. They claim they have sirloin/kobe beef burger mix, but if that is the case I do not understand why it was so dry or why the do not train people to cook it better. It was a bit disappointing. What a roller coaster of an evening at Relish Burger Bistro. I got to the bar with my girlfriend and a group of her friends at about 8 PM on a Friday and ordered a drink and browsed the food options. They have a section of rice bowls on the menu that seemed good so I ordered one of those. Food was below average, bland flavors masked with a soy sauce that had way too much sodium. Towards the end of the night around 10:15 PM I tried to order another drink, but was told by the bartender Louie that I "couldn't drink my drinks like shots and that we were all on camera". Keep in mind I'm an adult who had 3 drinks over the course of 2+ hours with dinner. The whole exchange was uncomfortable and embarrassing, I decided to forgo the last drink and grab the check. This is a pretty decent place but the portions are really small. I ordered 2 main courses in one sitting and was still hungry. Its also pretty expensive for what they offer. The dress is informal. Chic! ....and empty on a Saturday night. *It's summer!....SIT ON THE PATIO! It was REALLY nice (way better than being the only person inside, too). The recently wed bride and groom came out to have their pictures taken on the patio, too (ahh romance: nothing quite like a summer breeze, power lines and flagpoles, and the sound of the speeding autos of 128 traffic in the background). *Tick-tock! I might have understood the duration of time between arrival, order, serve, dessert, check IF there was a full house....but there were four tables. My husband and I went to this place because we had a groupon. We live in Waltham and I had no idea it was even there. We called to make a 7:30pm reservation thinking that on a Saturday night it would be crowded. We were surprised to see that we were the only two people there. We thought it would be fun to have a restaurant to ourselves and get some really great services. Turns out it was a really weird experience. We started off by being seating and more than 15 minutes passed before our waitress came by to introduce herself. I could understand that happening on a Saturday night but we were the ONLY people there. She had NO OTHER patrons. So she brings us water and proceeds to spill half of it on my side of the table and on my leg. Side note, there was complete silence in the restaurant. No mood music or anything. So my husband and I basically whispered to each other all night long because it was too quiet! Best part of the night was the appetizers. We should have stopped there. Throughout the night, there was a staff setting up for an event. So there was constant movement right near us of assembling tables. It was distracting. Then the rest of the wait staff was clearly setting up all of the tables for breakfast the next day and we felt like we were holding them up from leaving for the night and setting up their last table. When we got our food, it wasn't great. It was very bland and didn't have great flavor. I know it's supposed to be healthy for you there, but healthy doesn't have to mean bland. Our waitress for the night was a bit odd for us as well. She kept asking us how everything was and when we kept saying "ok" or "fine" she would just linger for a few seconds awkwardly like she wanted to say something else but never did. FYI, this place opened April 6, all the other reviews are for the restaurant that previously occupied the space. This place is awesome. We got the "tot-chos" which are tater tots covered in white chilli, cheese, onions, peppers and other good stuff. It was phenomenal and definitely big enough to share. My burger was fantastic. I asked for it to be cooked medium and it was cooked perfectly. This may just be the best burger in Waltham, and I don't say that lightly. The waitress was great, super nice, attentive and knew the menu. I will absolutely be back. read more
