An absolutely HORRIBLE experience. Stay far far away from Remoov. I do not usually do reviews, but this was SUCH a horrible experience that I need to worn others. As another poster stated, "TLDR; be mentally and financially prepared for items marked as "resale" to be changed to "recycle" on the spot by the team who comes to pick up your items." I recently used Remoov because I thought it would be a convenient way for me to sell, donate or recycle approx . 1 apartment's worth of furniture that I had been keeping in storage (incl. a table that originally retailed for over $5K). As the furniture had been moved into storage by a professional moving company, it was all neatly wrapped up. Remoov indicated over the phone that I could take a picture of all my items so that I could get a estimate of the space needed for the truck and they would assess my items after. (Note: Do NOT make my mistake of believing what these customer service reps say). They came to my place and realized their estimate was wrong (by 2x) and preceded to load everything up and recycle EVERYTHING (except a couple boxes they donated) including the table and a full PB bedroom set. However, it's unclear to me where my items were recycled. I call the day of to ask why everything they picked up got trashed (I at very least was expecting the items to get donated) and they tell me it takes about 5 days for the dashboard to update (this is not true). So, I call back a week or so later and they confirm that ALL my furniture and items were trashed. And, on this call I get gaslight by their customer service blaming me for misunderstanding their dashboard and that I had "signed" an agreement at pickup - however, NO ONE at the time of pick up explained to me which items were being sold, donated, or recycled (I was still under the impression they would go to review). I easily lost out on a few grand. Save yourself the hassle of Remoov and just call 1-800-GOT-JUNK. read more

This experience was so effortless. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of listing something on marketplace and had a new piece of furniture being delivered that night. The truck arrived at the beginning of my pickup window! (Which generally never happens in my experience.) The web flow all the way to quote generation was actually pretty good and as advertised (get a quote next day etc) Everything else was a disaster. First appointment is canceled the night before, someone calls to offer a 10% discount and a priority spot for the next window. They run late for the 2nd appointment, at which point it's pretty much radio silence, no one picks up the phone or bothers to send any updates. Finally got a call from their support team asking if I would be ok to reschedule for a 10% discount (mind you this is NOT an additional 10% on top of the original quote). I can't express enough how pleased we are with the services provided by Remoov for our recent 6,000-square-foot office move-out. We were faced with a tight timeline, and Remoov not only met but exceeded our expectations. From the moment we reached out, the Remoov team was responsive, clear, and attentive. The team of men who hauled my items away were great. However, I have to give one star because I felt completely blindsided by Remoov's process. When they give you a quote, they don't make it crystal clear that items marked as "resale" can be changed to "recycle" on the spot by the movers. If this happens, and you decide you still want them to haul the item(s) away, you have to pay a disposal fee. In the end, a $252 disposal fee was added to my original quote of $465 for a whopping total of $717. Unfortunately, I needed the items out of my house ASAP, so I reluctantly paid the fee + 25% tip. I'm not complaining about the tip because that was obviously my choice, but my point is that this service ended up costing me far more than I was expecting. read more

the whole process was easy and fast. setup an account on their website, sent pictures of the items including some details. within 24 hours I received a link with an estimate to pick up all the items, which would be sold, donated or recycled. once I agreed with the estimate, I scheduled a pickup a few days later. I even added a few items afterward. they were able to accommodate the additional items and kept the same pickup date and time. the two guys that arrived to pickup the items were polite and fast. they had to bring down a few heavy items down two staircases. my street is not the easiest with lots of double parking, low electrical wires and a steep hill. overall, I was very satisfied with the whole process. TL;DR: Hugo team is great; Resell-able items turn out to be not resell-able; expect a minimum 15% tips. Hugo team did a good job in removing my items including a super heavy 200 lb bulky coffee table, without damaging any part of my property, they are professional and highly recommend them! However, I do have some complaints about the company itself. I chose Remoov because they claimed that two of my items can be sold, but when they check in person, they said the conditions are not resell-able, and they would in addition charge me extra recycling fee. So keep this in mind when you are comparing prices with other junk hauling services. I had another company doing a in person check and the price was $150 less, if not for the resell ability I would have chosen them, especially they provide same day service while I need to schedule Remoov one week ahead. So be cautious when they say something is resellable, they won't do any touchup and won't look closely at your photo, make sure your item is in a VERY GOOD sellable condition before choosing them. Also note that tips are not included and they will present you a screen with minimum of 15% tip. read more

The pick up was made out of the promised window and I had to call to find out what was going on and I was late for a very critical meeting... I received no update on status of couch. SUMMARY: The company was disorganized given their robust systems. I wanted them to be great but I was disappointed. In fairness, they refunded me for my missing furniture. Issues aside, they are a very convenient option, so 2 stars instead of 1, mostly for the poor organization, inaccurate dashboard, and repeated backtracking from support. THE GOOD: - They sold most of the items I had put up for consignment with them. - Easy to reach the support team -- Andrew Brown is very responsive. - Their dashboard to keep track of your consignment inventory - When they lost 2 of my chairs, they refunded me, but I had to prove to that it was not my error. MY REGRETS: - I was told I didn't need an onsite consultation (email thread: https://bit.ly/2Fvmh4d) - They lost 2 of my upholstered dining chairs (Retail: $199/piece) - One of the movers dragged my Herman Miller office chairs on the street and used them as carts during the move. - - I had to tell the same mover to keep his voice down as he was screaming/howling down my block for fun, and basically take things down a notch because he is at work. He listened after a couple of reminders but I shouldn't have to ask! - One of the office chairs that were dragged was reported damaged by Remoov and was not sold on their site. I was not refunded for this because I could not prove that the chairs weren't damaged already. - Because I had to spend time proving none of the issues (that cost me money) was my fault, I apparently missed the window to reclaim my unsold stuff, which they donated without giving me a heads up. I assumed because Andrew was researching items on his end that they were putting any decision about discarding/donating unsold consignment items. I was wrong. - their dashboard is not up to date, so always ask support what they actually have sold for you. (I have email proof on this as well) LESSONS LEARNED: - Insist on getting the onsite visit and let them take pictures of your furniture. - Take pictures of EVERY SINGLE ITEM they take from you for consignment. Sometimes they are damaged in transit and you'll have to prove to them it wasn't damaged when they picked it up. They also might lose your furniture. Sadly for me, they both damaged and lost items that they picked up. - Keep a record of all emails and insist on a paper trail (vs. phone agreements) - If the movers are behaving in a way that concern you take a video and send it to support immediately. Keep that video as proof as well. I was promised by Andrew Brown that the mover concerned was spoken to about the incident, so I'm hoping that misbehaviour issue happened to. - Remoov will post multiple items as bundles on your dashboard but are not consistent about it, so make sure you know how they are pricing each item and that your inventory mirrors theirs. They take 50% of what they sell for you, so pricing matters! - Be aware of the potential silo between support, sales, your dashboard and the warehouse/inventory. NUMBERS: If you're curious.... Retail cost of all items on consignment = $11,135 Total from items sold = 3,289.50 Total paid to me after Remoov commission = $1644.75 Pick up and recycling fees total paid = $526 Total revenue from sales after fees = 1,118.75 I have no major issues with the commission and fee structure. I was willing to pay for the convenience, even if all the furniture they sold for me were only 14-ish months old and that I think they priced a bunch of them a little low. I was aware of the 50% that Remoov retains and I was ok with that. But this gives you an idea of how the math works out for furniture that is over a year old that goes to consignment. read more

Generally the website was easy to use (I had some problems submitting photos but managed to submit them to the number provided without any problems). They give you half the proceeds of the sale and the tax receipt for the donations. If It Sounds To Good To Be True...... They have slick advertising and make it sound so easy. Then you get their quote and it's only for removal as tehy no longer give estinates, even though their salesman sends out slick brochures to the Realtor community, stating otherwise. As for pick-up, what a disaster, I booked using their online calendar which gave me a 2 hour window and then received an emailed conformation, extending it to three. Well, ok, stuff happens. The day before my pick up, I email them to conform and I receive an email back saying yes, they'll be there. The morning of pick-up I get a 6am confirmation text. A little outside of of professional hours, but nice to see nonetheless. And then they never show up. I call at the end of my window and it's like a deer in the headlights. I had a deadline to get the pieces removed, so I cancelled the pick up after my window expired and called a a national junk removal service who came in 20 minutes. An hour and a half later I get a call from their driver saying he had been delayed, but was on his way. Huh? Then I get two obsequious apology emails and offering me a pick up discount on a future order. Really? So I ask them to cover the difference between their estimate and the rush order I had to pay the hauler and I get an email telling me there's nothing they can do. Long story short, just call Recology and get a bulky item pick-up and save yourself money, time and aggravation. read more
